Jyväskylä, Finland - 15th July 2012

By: mmm105

Hi!
Today I saw some public art works outside. They are all so unique. :)

This one is called as "Elämän koulu - vastuu, luottamus, luovuus"
In English it might be something like "A school of life - responsibility, trust, creativity"
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6QVftvZkkGc/UAMVHx2QQfI/AAAAAAAAOiU/v1CP75_-Ycs/s640/005.JPG

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-ZxZZ2oKi3Bw/UAMVJgJa0eI/AAAAAAAAOi0/9VpCxpaX4gg/s640/010.JPG

This one is "Karhu" ("A Bear"). The artist's name is Oskari Raja-aho, and the statue has made in the year 1930.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/--5b6YTlyU8s/UAMVMqtoDrI/AAAAAAAAOjo/3E0uMefVktw/s640/018.JPG

Look, we all are riding on the bear!  ;)
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-d1AUl0I-rFc/UAMVWnJFyLI/AAAAAAAAOl0/i6seyKJLVlA/s640/038.JPG

This one is "Keinumieli-Tyhjämieli-Häkkimieli" and the artist is Juhani Petäjäniemi, and it has made in 1989.
The name is difficult to translate into English, but it might be something like "a mind of swing - a mind of emptyness - a mind of cage".
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-pPDviu8sC_E/UAMVO4U407I/AAAAAAAAOj8/Qtv3BkUdaWQ/s512/022.JPG

And there's a statue "Kauppias ja apulainen" ("A Merchant and his assistant). The artist is Pauli Koskinen, and it has made in 1959.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-lF3ekCTUY08/UAMVZ_nLJEI/AAAAAAAAOmw/y84sh4JLR1E/s512/047.JPG

After walking a little there started to be dark clouds in the sky, so we turned walking back, and we hoped to arrive 'home' before it's raining...

...But we didn't managed. It started raining so quickly.
And the rain, it was HARD, we got totally wet within one minute.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-6XfG9G9-fno/UAMVk4Q0nWI/AAAAAAAAOp0/5oeDwwtX-xw/s640/080.JPG

We run back home, and inside it was time to get dry again, aww... :)

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-THtfSFSwL_g/UAMVotAMGBI/AAAAAAAAOqs/EJt2SvfAp6A/s512/089.JPG

What an adventure!!!

Hugs,
Druri

Hei! Hello!
Today I went outside to walk and look around this surroundings.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-g5g0Ac15fxc/UAkQH3JdaSI/AAAAAAAAOvY/-W9_HzUSGXk/s640/002.JPG

This is an orthodox church of Jyväskylä.

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-TE8m3kgPtPg/UAkQTTzhmeI/AAAAAAAAOxs/LoOwBWSWPJE/s512/024.JPG

And this is an evankelic lutherian church of Jyväskylä.
The church has buildt in 1929, and the architect was Elsi Borg.
This church has called also "the church of angels".

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-Vg-DFSygGC8/UAkQZiuXRCI/AAAAAAAAOzM/INpoiWP2EG0/s640/035.JPG

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-sLt5lbx-Y6M/UAkQczaDJSI/AAAAAAAAO0A/Vtp7Fcae418/s512/040.JPG

Then I continued my walking, and I found a river named Tourujoki.
This river goes through the city of Jyväskylä. It's about 2 kilometres long river,
and it goes from the lake Palokkajärvi to the lake Jyväsjärvi.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-iXy-OpUlrbY/UAkQom4nUjI/AAAAAAAAO1w/wR-mZPPn8zg/s640/058.JPG

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-KIv3yLku_YQ/UAkQtbCtD5I/AAAAAAAAO2M/EjHoOL8U3PU/s640/064.JPG

Here are we all toys: Lina, Kurnau, Wayne, Totoro, Honeymooners, Hunny, Phog, Kit-Kat, Ronja, BarryO, TobiHH and me.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-ZDY_aTCuPPE/UAkQs2lSsOI/AAAAAAAAO2I/XwePpnVj8aI/s640/063.JPG

And there's a bridge of Tourujoki.

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-fnVugu_9GMM/UAkQ1UO8qgI/AAAAAAAAO3k/q6u4FcRalUs/s640/124.JPG

Hello!
I visited in the natural park of Jyväskylä.
It's so cool forest area just next to the river Tourujoki. It's a nature conservation area in the middle of Jyväskylä.

At first, we need to go down to the long wooden old stairs. It was exiting!

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-U6bLVT0JUWg/UAl4_7hpsRI/AAAAAAAAO9I/H0OfEIL51wg/s640/065.JPG

Look, how beautiful nature there is!

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-PIZAS4bP0mE/UAl5I11tJpI/AAAAAAAAO-c/skTiezsGljI/s640/076.JPG

Can you see those weird things in the tree? They are "kääpä" in Finnish, they are some kind of mushrooms growing in old trees. How cool!

https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-JJGTRkDuvtA/UAl5OOWC_NI/AAAAAAAAO_E/3_QVkjnWKTs/s512/085.JPG

It's time to have a little brake, and just relax. :)

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-XRPm8LihZbk/UAl5VqiDnzI/AAAAAAAAO_0/PcdFVy-sPzI/s640/096.JPG

Then it's time to walk forward.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-fGyTZvhz5vc/UAl5ZOu89dI/AAAAAAAAPAU/JTOOjwfFsAs/s640/100.JPG

We walk on the "pitkospuut", the wooden path on the ground. There must be this wooden path, because the ground is so wet.

https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-V7pS1MagEho/UAl5kiGGUHI/AAAAAAAAPBk/j_TbBcXAkPk/s640/112.JPG

It was a nice place, this small natural park! :)

Druri

Jyväskylä, Finland - 20th July 2012

By: mmm105

Hi!
Today I visited in the Craft Museum of Finland.
Due to water damage, there were only small exhibitions of different things.

There's my favourite work on the picture. It's so colourful!
On the floor there's many tiny marbles there.
And in the wall there's a lot chrocheting hotpads.
All together it looks nice, right?

Hugs,
Druri

Jyväskylä, Finland - 26th July 2012

Hei! Hello!
I was walking a lot today. I went to see this town, Jyväskylä, so that I can always remember my home while I'm travelling abroad.
Maybe I can tell you a secret: I have got an invitation from Germany! Soon I will travel, and it will be my very first time without mom.

Well, let me introduce my hometown Jyväskylä...

There is the street only for pedestrians.

https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-0_w1gyqWGV8/UBFmIf3mC1I/AAAAAAAAPTA/DgxYWMOPfyQ/s640/IMG_8309.JPG

There's a plaza.
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-L-DtpPY1vqs/UBFl9J4wLAI/AAAAAAAAPQI/9LQI-UURYOs/s640/IMG_8209.JPG

In the last few days there's happened many things.
First, a new toy arrived from Germany, named Rico the Tiger.
Then I visited in the place called Harju and I saw great views from the Harju's viewing tower.
And the Olympic Games has started. I watched the Opening Seremony from TV.
And because I will leave here soon, I wanted to visit on the lake just next to home.
All things were great!:)

HOME in Jyväskylä, Finland - 30th July 2012

By: mmm105

Hello!
I have got an invitation! I can now start to begin my travellings by my own! I'm going to Germany.
But at this time I don't have to travel alone, because TobiHH will travel with me. I'm going to visit TobiHH's mommy!!! I'm so exited to see TobiHH's hometown, and to meet dicker Kumpel, because TobiHH has talked a lot of him to me. I'm sure we will have great time in Germany. :)

TobiHH showed me from the map, how far away Germany is from Finland. It was nice that he did it.

Kurnau said goodbye to us. And then all others came to say it, too. I'm going to miss them all...

But we are not only ones to leave here. There's other ToyVoyagers saying goodbye, too. Niiskuneiti will also travel to Germany, but to the other town. And Honeymooners will travel to Japan. I hope they will have a great journey!

Hugs,
Druri

Sülfeld, Germany - 3rd August 2012

By: RikeH

Hi Mum,

TobiHH and I arrived in Sülfeld. Dicker Kumpel is the host here – he gave me a warm welcome.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0616.jpg

I showed him and the other TVs what I brought with me.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0617.jpg

Today we took a trip to a village near to Sülfeld. Can you see me on the big stone?

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0548.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0549.jpg

See me on a lot of wood!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0550.jpg

We found a nice place and talked a lot.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0555.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0556.jpg

Then we went to a nice cabin – and watched for birds!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0558.jpg

Can you see the white dots – there were swans!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0559.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0561.jpg

I liked the tree in front of the blue sky.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0564.jpg

And I loved this funny tree.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0571.jpg

We had fun at this point. We made a competition in long jump.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0576.jpg

And I won – because I used my fire-breathing to jump faster and wider!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0577.jpg

Can you imagine what I did here?

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0581.jpg

Yes, I used the slide.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0580.jpg

Before we went home – we played on this big swing.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0588.jpg

This was fun!

Bad Oldesloe, Germany - 10th August 2012

By: RikeH

Hi Mum,

I went to a little town near to Sülfeld today – Bad Oldesloe. The white building behind me is the town hall.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0673.jpg

This is the Stadthaus – but I don’t know what is inside the house.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0674.jpg

I loved this water wheel.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0681.jpg

We had a rest next to a small river.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0683.jpg

There were some old houses in the city – a nice place with a lot of flowers.

Lübeck, Germany - 17th August 2012

By: RikeH

Hi Mum,

Today I went to Lübeck – a nice town in the North of Germany. They have really beautiful old houses here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0691.jpg

This is the theatre of Lübeck.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0695.jpg

I loved the beautiful balcony of the town hall.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0702.jpg

These are views from the other side.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0705.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0706.jpg

I went to the river – and saw old storehouses.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0717.jpg

On the other side of the river are typical houses.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0727.jpg
The river was really nice.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0728.jpg

On the last photo you see the most famous building of the city – it is called Holstentor. Years ago it was on a bill of German money.

Sülfeld, Germany - 24th August 2012

By: RikeH

Hi Mum,

A new guest arrived today – it is Lorca. She showed the nice postcard that olgamaus created.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0748.jpg

Later we visited Dicker Kumpel’s Grandma. She had birthday this week – and this is one of her presents.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0753.jpg

I really loved these wonderful flowers! I wanted to sit on one of them – but it was not so easy.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0760.jpg

Fortunately I didn’t fall into the water.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0761.jpg

I think it is okay to sit behind the flower!
