Wiltshire, England - 9th August 2007
By: Steve & Helly
Hi, I'm Pierre Bear.
Today I've officially become a Toy Voyager. I was born with the intention of becoming a travelling bear last year, in Paris. The first place I visited was Salbris, in France. Since then I've travelled across Northern France and attended lots of English 2CV events. Two weeks ago my Mum and Dad, Helly and Steve, met Sprockett, another Toy Voyager. he visited us on our local 2CV camp - 'Swindon, Not Sweden' - and once we knew about 'Toy Voyagers' I just had to become an 'OFFICIAL' Travelling Bear. The photo shows me at 'Hay Bluff', a 2CV event which re-enacted the 'Antiques Road Show' opening sequence, where a 2CV drives over the top with a grandfather clock. It was taken last year.
Today I've travelled in Molly - the Citroen 2CV I live in - into Swindon, where Helly works. I live in the front window of Molly, so I can see where I'm going.

Swindon, England - 10th August 2007
By: Steve & Helly
Today I travelled with Helly to Swindon, where she works. Helly works at Swindon Dial A Ride which specialises in door to door transport for people who cannot use public transport, usually because they have a disability which prevents them.
I spent the morning helping Paula and Di to answer the phones and helped to use the radio to talk to the drivers. Then I went outside and climbed on the buses.
Later in the day I helped with some training on how to safely transport a person in a wheelchair.

Yatesbury, England - 11th August 2007
By: Steve & Helly
I had the most exciting day today!
I went up in a microlight with Di who works with Helly.
Di and her friend Cheryl both flew seperately and were allowed to take over the controls. Helly stayed firmly on the ground and took photos.
The microlight seemed very small. I had to be very careful I didn't get caught up in the propeller and that I didn't fall out as I wasn't wearing a parachute.
I flew over the Wiltshire countryside and had a wonderful view of Avebury stone circle from the air. Taking off and landing were just as much fun as flying. I was a bit nervous when Di started to fly by herself though!
However, I can't wait to do it all again.
The photos include me inside the cockpit and the view of Avebury from the air.

Swindon, England - 14th August 2007
By: Steve & Helly
I went with Helly to her work in Swindon again today. When I went last Friday I didn't get chance to go out on a bus, so today I spent the whole time out with George, one of the drivers.
George was very kind and let me sit by the steering wheel. I visited Swindon's Shop Mobility and also the Great Western Hospital.
It was fantastic fun.
I asked Geroge if I could have a go at driving but he wouldn't let me as I haven't passed my test. He said he'd get into lots of trouble if he did.

Storrington, England - 26th August 2007
By: Steve & Helly
I travelled to Storrington, near Worthing, today, to the 2CV National. Whilst there Molly had her new roof fitted . . . so I've completed a mission, hurrah! Molly has a nice new Tweed Green roof, which won't leak.
The old roof was getting so bad I was worried I'd get wet when I travelled in her.
I watched very closely to see if I could fit a 2CV roof in future but I think it's a bit beyond my capabilities. I'm a little bit small and I don't think I'd manage to fit the back window without help.
The journey to Storrington was great. We went in a convoy of three cars and met lots of 2CV friends from all over the country.
The photos show Molly with her old roof being removed and me sitting proudly on the new one.
Next week I'm off to Spain, I can't wait. This week will drag so much.

Swindon, England - 1st September 2007
By: Steve & Helly
September 1st, at last the day I go on holiday to Spain for two weeks, so I'd better check my passport again.
I'm going with Dave (who works with my Mum at Swindon Dial A Ride), his wife Sue, their daughter Sam, and her husband Richard.
We are stopping at a villa with its own swimming pool. The villa is called Casa Cielo and is in the Urban area of Cumbre del Sol in Benitachell.

Somewhere between England and Spain, ? - 1st September 2007
By: Steve & Helly
We are now high in the sky and have been flying for about half an hour. The seatbelt sign has been switched off so I can sit on the back of the seat and have a good look around the aeroplane at all the people who are going to Spain.

The Sky, Over France! - 1st September 2007
By: Steve & Helly
The Captain of the aeroplane came out to see if everyone was enjoying the flight. I said to him I had never seen the cockpit of a big aeroplane before - the microlight I flew in was very tiny - so he took me into the cockpit!
I have never seen so many controls in my life. My Mum's car has only a few dials and things and she cannot understand those so the captain must be a very clever man! ('Cheeky Little Bear!' - Helen)
I was very happy because we were flying over France at the time and I was born in France.

Somewhere in Spain, Spain - 1st September 2007
By: Steve & Helly
We are now in Spain and have hired a car for the next two weeks.
This is me looking for the signs to Benitachell and it is very hot outside but nice and cool in the car as we have air conditioning.
Sam is driving and she is very good, considering she has not driven on the right hand side of the road before, because in England they drive on the left.

Benitachell, Spain - 3rd September 2007
By: Steve & Helly
This is a view from our villa. We are about 1000ft up a mountain and can see for miles. I can also see the sea.
It is very hot but with a nice breeze but I had better take care not to get sun burnt.
I'd better keep my t-shirt on. If I'm a bare bear I stand more chance of burning!!

Benitachell, Spain - 6th September 2007
By: Steve & Helly
This is the life, if only Mum could see me now, she would be very jealous. It's still very hot so I think I'll take a dip in the pool.

It's still very hot so Sue went to the supermarket and brought some small ice-creams just for me.
