Itsukushima Shrine, Miyajima, Japan - 22nd July 2012

By: hanachan

Miyajima is an island located off the coast of Hiroshima.
We visited Itsukushima Shrine, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
If it was low tide, we could get closer to the Shrine Gate.
I saw a baby deer around the shrine. In Miyajima, many Sika Deers are wandering the streets. At night they go back to the mountain.
;)

Hiyashi Udon (Cold Udon Noodles)
Big Hello from Japan :D
I was lucky that I joined to the tour to Miyajima. When I arrived in Japan, other TVs were about to leave.
Now I'm back to Takamatsu and it's lunch time.
Udon noodles is a special food of Kagawa prefecture. There are many ways to cook of Udon.
Today we eat Hiyashi Udon dipping soy sauce flavored soup with green onion.

Kurashiki, Okayama pref., Japan - 5th August 2012

By: hanachan

Our train ran across the Seto Ohashi Bridge over the Inland Sea. And we came to Kurashiki-city, Okayama prefecture.
This area is kept the old city view of Tokugawa Shogunate period. (17th-19th century)
There are many historical houses beside the canal. These were once used as warehouse of cotton.
"Kura" of the city's name means warehouse in Japanese.

Shioya Coast, Shido Bay, Japan - 18th August 2012

By: hanachan

Takamatsu-city faces the Seto Inland Sea which contains more than 2000 islands.
I visited the shrine near the coast. It's a small shrine. Japanese as Shintoists worship everything. The deities exist everywhere. The deity of this shrine is a salt-pan (Shiogama in Japanese) for drying and making salt from sea water.

Goshikidai, mountain range, Japan - 24th August 2012

By: hanachan

Hello!
I'm standing on the top of the mountain between 2 cities, Takamatsu and Sakaide. It's an amazing view of the Seto Inland Sea. Can you see the Seto Ohashi Bridge over the sea? Yes, you know that I got a chance to cross the bridge.
In mountain I saw a very strange statue of Ushi-Oni. It is a creature which appears in the folklore of Japan. :o
