Puerto Montt, Chile - 7th November 2013
By: Leslie
Hola a todos!
The weather has been beautiful, mild temperatures and soft breezes, so we decided it was a perfect for sailing!
We headed to the port area of the city and started looking for someone to take us to the sea...
First we found these big boats but they were to transport residents of an island back home... So we had to keep searching.
Down in that little dock there were some boats, so we went to ask
And success! They said yes, so we got on a boat and started sailing!
First we went between the mainland and an island.
Back there you can see Chinquihue Staduim, it is the most southern professional stadium in the world.
And a warship back there as well.
Here we reached the sea, it's a gulf but we weren't between the island and the mainland anymore so the waves got bigger. The boat moved up and down and also to the sides and it felt great!
Now back there you can see the city again. This is where we started returning around the island that we first were sailing behind of. Island Tenglo.
When we reached the port area again, we saw these big machines to load the exportation ships, and also big ships.
And when we were back again in the land, we went to a market to buy some seafood, look at this variety!
And in the end of the day we walked through a famous craftmarket called Angelmó.
It was a great day!
I loved the sea and the waves

Puñihuil, Chile - 7th December 2013
By: Leslie
This day wasn't so nice in the morning, but as the hours went by the clouds flew away and we saw the blue blue sky.
But enough weather talking, let me tell you about this trip
We woke up early early and went to the island of Chiloé.
The first place we visited in there was the Fortress Agüi, built by the spanish to fight the pirates back in 1779.
See how I'm learning?
After visiting the fortress we headed to Puñihuil, a beach with Natural Monument declared islands
This is it, what a nice view!
I mentioned that these islands are a Natural Monument... and you might be wondering why, so let me tell you. It's because here penguins and many other species come to mate!
And of course, there are tours to sail around the islands, so we took one
Can you see the little white/black points behind me? Well, they're the penguins.
There are also many of them up there on the grass, but they're tiny!
There you can see some.
Sadly the little penguins weren't as photogenic as I am so we couldn't get any great shot of them, but hey! At least I saw them!
It was a very nice day!
Love from Chile
