Travelog for: Rosalind

Portsmouth, UK - 8th April 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hi everyone! Happy Easter!

I'm still at home with Frances at the moment, but I thought it'd be nice to let you know what kinda things I get up to here, and what I like to do, before I leave. My plan at the moment is to set off on my first journey on Tuesday, when the post offices open again!

This morning, Frances had to get up at 5 so she could go to church with her mum. Wool monsters don't wake up at 5, so I stayed home and waited for her to get back. When she got back, we had some time before leaving to go to church with her dad, so I helped her start writing her letter to Lucy. I really hope she finishes soon, because I will be travelling with this letter!

We had to go to church 2 hours early, because Frances' dad had arranged for a huge group of people to do the music, and they needed to rehearse. Frances let me sit on her music stand while they practiced, but during the service she got me to sit on the side so I couldn't pull funny faces at her! I made friends with the other saxophonist, John, who thought I was pretty cool and said he hoped I enjoyed hearing them all play.

After the service, I went back to Frances' house and had lunch with her, her parents and her boyfriend Chris. We then found out the Easter bunny had arrived, so we had an Easter egg hunt in the living room. I realised I couldn't hunt very well, because all the eggs were hidden in high up places that I couldn't reach, so I made friends with some of the other toys whilst Frances and Chris hunted. When they finished, Frances let me share some of the chocolate, but not too much because I don't want to get to be too heavy to send in the post!

In the afternoon, Frances and Chris had to go to the supermarket to buy some greek yoghurt for Frances' dad, and I asked them if I could come along. I didn't want to be stuck in a dark pocket, so Frances agreed that I could travel by hat, as long as I wore my seatbelt. I have decided that travelling by hat is quite probably the best way for a TV to get a good view of the world. I was so high up, and very comfortable!

I'm very tired after my long day, so I am going to go to bed soon. Tomorrow is a big day, because it's my last day at home before I go to visit Lucy! I'm rather excited!

Best Wishes,

Rosalind :) xx

Portsmouth, UK - 10th April 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hello there!

Today's been a very exciting day for me - I've set off on my first big adventure! I'm on my way to see ProfessorRiverSong and I'm very excited!

When I woke up this morning I saw it was sunny, which I was quite pleased about. Yesterday, I had to stay in Frances' pocket as it was raining a lot, but today I got to travel on her hat all the way into town. It was a lovely half hour walk, and I got to see a lot of Portsmouth from up there!

She had arranged to meet Chris by the fountain in the city centre, because as well as sending me off they both had to write Postcrossing postcards. Chris was a bit late, but I didn't mind because it was sunny and I had fun playing by the fountain.

I then had to help Frances and Chris choose the postcards they were going to write. They got a bit lost in one shop, because it was so big and even they couldn't see over all of the racks of clothes to work out where to pay, and when they left they went out a different door than they came in and set off in the wrong direction!

Once they had the postcards, they took me to a bookshop which has a cafe in it. I helped them write their postcards, and drink their hot chocolate and coffee! I also went with Frances to look at the books while Chris finished his postcards (she only had 3 to write while he had 5!)

After that, the three of us went to the post office. It was very busy, because it has been closed for a few days, so while they were waiting Frances helped me get into my envelope. She used some sellotape to seal me in, so I couldn't escape or fall out! Then she had to weigh me (23 grams, including the envelope and the letter!) and then a strange lady took me away from her and put me in a big bag.

I hope the journey to Lucy's house doesn't take too long! I can't wait to meet her!

Rosalind :) xx

Margate, UK - 11th April 2012

By: ProfessorRiverSong

Hello everyone!

I arrived today in Margate, safely having travelled from Portsmouth. Frances posted me yesterday and I arrived with Lucy in this morning's post. It was all every excited but scary at the same time...I'm glad I'm out of the envelope now, it was quite small and scary.

Anyway, we had an exciting day today...although to start with Lucy was revising which isn't so exciting but I did get a chance to talk to Lucy TV, Jessie, who seemed very nice and is excited about going to visit Frances. She said she should be in the post tomorrow and be in Portsmouth by Friday. Once Lucy had finished her revision, we walked into the Westgate town centre and visited a hardware store and some charity shops. Lucy bought some VHS's and then a drink. Then her and her sister, Izzy (NeverShoutNever) walked myself, Jessie and Peter Rabbit down onto the seafront.

However, the most exciting part of my first day with Lucy was going and visiting the 4th Broadstairs Explorer Unit and watching them doing pioneering (I had a go but it was hard for me because I'm a little small). Anyhow it's a step on the way to one of my Life Missions so it was all very exciting! I will post some pictures of me there tomorrow when Lucy sorts out her sister's phone!

Bye for now!

Rosalind xx

Margate Sea Front, UK - 12th April 2012

By: ProfessorRiverSong

Hey people!

Today was an exciting day, I went out with Lucy and her family to the Puffins Cafe on Margate's Harbour Arm. When we left it was a lovely sunny day and the sea was amazingly blue. Unfortunately the weather turned on us a little when we were coming back home and we got caught in a rain shower...Lucy shelter me in the pocket of her hoody. I was okay with this because the pocket was a nice size so I didn't feel confined. All in all it was a nice outing.

When we arrived home Lucy cracked on with yet more revision...but also she did treat herself to a film. I very much enjoyed watching James and the Giant Peach with her; a very good film I have decided (although lacking in woollen monsters I feel-minor issue, minor)

Tomorrow I am visiting Lucy's school, The Ursuline College, as she has an English revision session from 10 till 2. Hoping it won't be too dull...for both our sakes.

Anyway here are the picture of me at 4th Broadstairs Explorers as promised and some for me at Margate too!

Bye, bye!

Rosalind  xx

Margate, UK - 13th April 2012

By: ProfessorRiverSong

Hello!

Lucy and I did not end up going to The Ursuline College. Her teacher, Miss Johnson, was ill so could not make it in to school. Instead she did a little revision at home but then we had a movie day! Wooohoooo! So the films we watched were:
-The Borrowers
-Saving Private Ryan
-Singin' in the Rain
-There's Something about Mary
-Doctor Who Series 6 A Good Man Goes to War, The God Complex and The Wedding of River Song (not a film....but fantastic!)

It was a good day! I hope we do another movie day soon...we did also get a bit of fresh air, I travelled in Lucy's pocket but just peaking out of the top. We went along to the Library in Westgate so her sister could get out some books, and then on the way back to her house we stopped at this really nice deli called Angelos and brought some nice treats for lunch; chocolate brownies, doughnuts and a beef curry slice. All very tasty I must say.

Yet another interesting day here in Thanet, looking forward to tomorrow. Lucy's cousin, Luke, and his girlfriend, Sarah, are coming round for lunch and then to take Lucy's little sister, Penny out for a late birthday/Christmas trip to the cinema. Also Lucy's friend is coming round for some revision; so I'm really looking forward to meeting her.

Still missing home and Frances but having a great time in Margate with Lucy!

Rosalind :) xx

Ursuline College, Westgate, UK - 17th April 2012

By: ProfessorRiverSong

Hello!

Sorry I haven't updated recently I got a bit caught up helping Lucy with her revision and she fell asleep late night and I was too small to reach the computer which is on a very large table!

So today and yesterday I visited Lucy's school. The building, called Hatton House, is very nice...almost looks like Hogwarts! On Monday we had History in the morning which I found very interesting we were learning about Winston Churchill. Also we had psychology and politics...history was my favourite though, it was a very tiring day and I'm glad I don't have to get up every morning that early, but I did enjoy it very much!

Today, I had an English lesson in the morning where we were doing some revision in "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" it is a poem by Coleridge and today I found out a lot about the characters in it today. Also we had a spectacular storm. In the space of 30 minutes there was sun, then rain, then hail, then thunder and lightning, and then sun again! Lucky we didn't get caught in the rain so I didn't have to hide in Lucy's pocket but could ride in her top pocket and was able to see the way home.

Bye for now!

Rosalind xx :D

Southsea, UK - 16th June 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hello!

The weather was really nice today, so I took NoMi for a walk by the seafront.

We started off in a lovely garden, where we could admire the beautiful flowers, play by the ponds, and relax on a bench.

We then went to the seafront where it was really windy, but clear enough to see very far! We also had a look at Southsea Castle, but it was too late in the day to go in.

Portsmouth, UK - 22nd June 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Yipee! I am very happy today, because now there are even more Toyvoyagers visiting me today!

When Frances got home from college, she showed me and NoMi that a parcel had arrived. We opened it very carefully, and looked inside to see Mimi and George!

Once we'd said hello to them, we jumped into Frances' bag and went for a walk into town to get a few things from the shops. We then baked some yummy M&M muffins together.

In the evening, we ate fish and chips whilst watching "Across the Universe". We sang along with all the songs, which are by the Beatles.

I am so glad I have many new friends to show around Portsmouth! I can't wait to see what other adventures we will have!

Rosalind :) xx

London, UK - 1st July 2012

Happy Canada Day!

Today, I went back to London to celebrate Canada Day. We couldn't get to Canada fast enough, so we celebrated in Trafalgar Square instead. It was very exciting!

There was lots of live music, hockey, Canadian food and rain. The rain bit wasn't so good, but we had Frances' rucksack to hide in! Going to London twice in a row was very exciting, but also very tiring!

Hello!

Only a few more days until we go on holiday to Scotland! And, just in time, Kasimir Kashmir has joined us! Now, there will be 6 of us TVs - I hope we have booked enough seats on the train!

And talking of trains, we went to the station today to buy the tickets we don't already have. As it was a nice day, we also played in the park on the way home. It was a lot of fun!

I can't wait to go on holiday with my friends!

Hello!

Frances needed to make a cake today, so I got all of my friends to help out! We made a chocolate cake, with chocolate buttercream icing. It was very fun to make together, and very tasty to nibble on as we were going along :)

Anyway, only a few days until Scotland!

Between Portsmouth and Motherwell, UK - 16th July 2012

By: MySongIsLaughter

Hello!

I'm in Scotland, with my friends! We've been travelling all day, so we're worn out now, but it was fun! I liked being able to sit with my friends and talk to them on the way up. We even had an hour or so to kill at King's Cross, so we wandered around a few different shops and pretended to be on our way to Hogwarts!

The longest train we had to go on was from London to Edinburgh, but luckily we had a window seat to ourselves, so we could watch all of the scenery going past as we moved further up the country!

I wonder what adventures we'll have while we're here?

Rosalind :) xx
