Another nice day but this time, my host's family went fishing.

I wondered if I could help...

I tied some knots..

Today, we went to a butterfly zoo.

There is a Diadem on the statue, and a Blue Morpho butterfly on the leaf. Do you see the other butterflies behind? One is an Owl butterfly.

This is a Great Mormon butterfly.

This is the brown form of a Clipper.

I wonder if there is a sequel to the Hungry Caterpillar books, a Hungry Butterfly?

We have come on holiday!

This is Middlesborough's Transporter Bridge. We were too late to go on it last night.

There is room for upto 9 cars, and footpassengers stay in the sides.

However, we've come back today and are allowed to go on this. Getting ready to leave.

The journey across was quick.

The deck has already returned to the other side.

It is coming back again.

Nearly there.

We'd better get back so we can make the return trip.

Near the bridge is a museum, but we didn't take any photographs. We came back out to see the deck coming back.

It has gone back across the river.

This is a great view from the side to see the bridge in action.

It is an interesting bridge.

We have arrived in Whitby. Our first stop is the Dracula Museum.

It is a bit spooky but I am not scared.



The flash took away some of the scariness of this display.

Next, we watched a replica of HMS Endeavour (the original sailed under Captain Cook) take a group out for a little trip.

And then we visited the lifeboat museum. This display has information on some call-outs. Unfortunately, the trawler Admiral Von Tromp got into difficulty and not everyone could be saved.

Whitby also has an Abbey on the other side of the river and up the hill.

We walked around the abbey before it started to rain.

We went to Scarborough on our way home.

We stopped off at the Sea Life centre. There are fish and anemones in this aquarium.

There is a quiz for the children to do.

A skate, perhaps?

It is rather relaxing watching these fish.

Hi Mum,
Today, we went out for a quick spin on the bus to Beaumaris.

Beaumaris is a historic coastal town on the Isle of Anglesey. This is a 13th century castle listed as a UNESCO world heritage site.

We didn't have time to go around because my host wanted to catch another bus to go shopping.

Today, we went for a bus ride. It was raining outside.

It was still raining when we got off the bus.

The place we visited has a history. The Romans were here in 60 AD

And then we went for a cuppa, before going home.

I have arrived here in Austria, but I will be on my way again soon.
My hostmom told me that we are soon off to Brussels.

So, no need to open up my suitcase!

Hi Mom!

I have arrived in Brussels! The city of chocolate 

We did some sightseeing around the inner city, watched the painters on Grand Place, wandered around the streets.
We did some window shopping to look for presents to take home with us. We also saw Maneken Pis - a rather unusual fountain  and some of his costumes. Belgium is also known for the comics, and you can find them as murals on the houses!

There were some beautiful old houses and also nice looking parks, where I smelled some roses!
We then enjoyed tea in a small street café.

Hi Mom!

Here I am at work with my hostmom! I helped answering the phone, made some copies, helped to type stuff...

I also met two new friends: A Swiss cow and a frog called Jean-Pascal.

They made a boring day at the office fun and then I discovered the sweet stuff

Hi Mom!

Today we were invited to a dinner for a little celebration.
We toasted with champagne and then had some traditional Austrian food: Schweinsbraten (pork roast) with dumplings and potatoes.

I was stuffed afterwards and had to sleep the roast off
