Travelog for: Lola Rabbit

at home, Switzerland - 14th February 2013

By: Jasper

Hello, it's me,
Yesterday was my birthday. Blindfolded my girlfriend Hase led me to the dining room.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141850_zpsb60f794d.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141851_zps6c6891dd.jpg

I heard whispers and laughter. Then she took off the blindfold

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141852_zps1148fa81.jpg

and all my friends sang happy birthday and wished me all the best.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141854_zpsdec29cd8.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141855_zpsdd68da52.jpg

I got lots of presents, a marzipan bunny,

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141857_zps9fc07b42.jpg

colored pencils

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141856_zps8dace8d5.jpg

and a big chocolate cake with a candle.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141858_zps51052ecf.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141859_zpsd5f7e64b.jpg

I blew out the candle

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141860_zpsad8ce867.jpg

and Jasper brought chocolate for all.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141861_zpse3afe48f.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141862_zpsb405a767.jpg

Later, we sat together, ate a lot of sweets

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141863_zps15741a3e.jpg

and told many stories. And then came the best part: I got my own ToyVoyager. A tiny, cute zebra.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141864_zps398a6a9b.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141865_zpsf5455c49.jpg

That's it for today, I'm very busy. I need to talk with my zebra.

on a winterwalk, Switzerland - 14th February 2013

By: Jasper

Hi,
Today was beautiful weather. Sun much as you wanted. The best thing was, Jasper did not have to work and we could take a winter walk. We walked up and down through the glistening snow.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141993_zps33a1e8e5.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141983_zpsfd82bfe2.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141981_zps2e5992a8.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141979_zps442ebbbd.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141968_zps577abaf8.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141962_zpsbdf6cb6d.jpg

The sky was blue, the sun was shining, what more could you want?

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141955_zpsb3958c26.jpg

An adventure! On our way we saw the sign to the waterfall. The road really just a path is a little dangerous. Narrow, steep and icy in the winter. We begged so much until Jasper gave her ok. First she checked the phone connection. (In case we need the fire brigade or the helicopter to get us out.) Then it went off.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141943_zpsc6793903.jpg

From time to time our heart beat a little faster.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141949_zps58a5c4a0.jpg

And then we saw the waterfall is an icefall now.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141870_zps578ebb46.jpg

Everything around him was covered with ice.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141902_zpsbcbe47fe.jpg

It looked great. That was our way back.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141900_zpse30937b2.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2141926_zps2bc4345b.jpg

Exhausting, but we did it.

at home, Switzerland - 16th February 2013

By: Jasper

Hi,
I have already told you that I got a own TV for my birthday. Here he is.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152006_zps7e27ec22.jpg

Stripes is his name and I love him dearly.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152005_zpsa71bae46.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152004_zps226d1acb.jpg

But since I have him, I'm very busy. He's a really curious, small zebra. He climbs all over and sniff everything.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152002_zps82756965.jpg

I have a serious word talk to him.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152003_zps9e8eda2e.jpg

A little bit later I showed him my Travelog at ToyVoyagers.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152007_zps33a203bc.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152008_zps721beadd.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152009_zpsdf4dcb7b.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152010_zps0dbb197d.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152011_zps08610e40.jpg

He was thrilled. As soon as possible, he would like to be a real TV. So we wrote a Pm to Olgamaus for an ID.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P2152012_zps813e5bfe.jpg

Now I have to calm down my little zebra. He can hardly wait.
Bye, bye for now
Lola

Jasper's home, Switzerland - 3rd March 2013

By: Jasper

Hi all,
what a boring week. Jasper had to work full time, the weather was bad (two weeks with no sun, no more snow, but fog and rain) and host dad was sick. But yesterday we had a lot of fun. We celebrated Lille's birthday.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P3032049_zpsba63c082.jpg

She got a huge cake, a big lollipop and a little sheep. All kissed and hugged her and wished her all the best.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P3032053_zpsd9a371d3.jpg

Then she blew out the candle

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P3032059_zps876a24de.jpg

and cut the cake.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P3032062_zps00b8829a.jpg

It was great fun.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P3032058_zps2676d2ff.jpg

I hope that next week things will get better.
See you,
Lola

Happy Easter!
although it looks more like Christmas. Due to bad weather (snow again) we must search the Easter Bunny in the apartment. We searched long and found plenty. Everywhere chocolate bunnies, eggs and other sweets were hidden.

Jasper's home, Switzerland - 12th April 2013

By: Jasper

Hello,
Today a new TV arrived. Jasper brought a heavy package and we were very excited to see what or who is in it.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P4122502_zpsbe34d5e9.jpg

The first thing was a postcard,

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P4122503_zps955604c1.jpg

then came sweets

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P4122504_zps9310d675.jpg

and then a bunch of money.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P4122505_zps67652dde.jpg

The last climbed out a small panda bear.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P4122506_zps1c9be828.jpg

We greeted her warmly and introduced ourselves.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P4122507_zps699b66b4.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P4122508_zps69272ad1.jpg

Her name is Lilo and she is from Germany.
We will definitely have lots of fun together.

Jungfraujoch, Switzerland - 10th May 2013

By: Jasper

Hi to all
Last weekend Jasper promised a special trip for Thursday, when the weather is good - really good. So we kept our fingers crossed for the whole week, but the weather forecast was not promising. Host dad decided: We try.
Thursday: Get up 5 clock in the morning, Departure 1 hour later. Much too early for TV's. Therefore, we slept on during the car ride.
As Jasper woke us the next time we were in Interlaken train station. The ticket showed us: We travel to the Jungfraujoch.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P5092808_zps5da309be.jpg

To the highest train station in Europe. The first train took us to Grindelwald

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P5092814_zps0a13cdbd.jpg

at the foot of the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau, the well-known mountains in the Bernese Oberland. There, we changed the train to Kleine Scheidegg, the starting point for the trekkers climbing the Eiger North Face.
Here you see this notorious mountain wall, which has so many climbers cost their lives.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P5092826_zps6a8e348e.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P5092820_zps30209273.jpg

Next, we boarded the red train to the Jungfraujoch.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P5092821_zps2e704397.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P5092828_zps2b66c27b.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P5092831_zps8a08cd26.jpg

This train is required in addition to the normal rails a gear to overcome the steep climbs.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/P5092837_zps5f03d5e4.jpg

As the train travels most of the time in tunnels, there are several breakpoints on the line with windows. From there you can admire famous places.
Our first stop, and also the last outside of the tunnel, was Eigergletscher.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092845_zpsa821d2f3.jpg

From the once mighty glacier is not much left.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092847_zpsb0705875.jpg

The next stop was Eigerwand.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092861_zpsafc207b6.jpg

The view from the middle of the Eiger North Wall was breathtaking.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092851_zpsb9b145c6.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092856_zps2d46a606.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092857_zps50096e80.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092858_zpsd87abd0f.jpg

The last stop is called Eismeer. Here you can see the glacier crashes between Eiger and Mönch.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092870_zps3703cc50.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092871_zpsc74c2538.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092873_zps061fe04a.jpg

Then we reached the highest station in Europe. 3454 meters above sea level. It was too dark to make pictures. We took the elevator to the Sphinx. 117 meters in 26 seconds. The Sphinx is a research station and an observatory. In 1996, the observation deck was opened. On clear days one has a fantastic view.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092900_zps33aebd6a.jpg

This mountain is called  Mönch and is 4107 meters (13475ft.) high.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092899_zpscc244c38.jpg

This is the Sphinx.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092908_zps7d3d1349.jpg

It was very stormy. Through this wind changed fog, clouds and a clear view in seconds - unbelievable. Then we took a walk on the Aletsch Glacier.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092919_zpsa24049ea.jpg

This glacier is the largest of the Alps in terms of area and almost 23 kilometers long. The ice flows at a speed of 180 meters per year towards the Rhone. On Konkordiaplatz the ice thickness is about 900 meters. We were not allowed to leave the path of the glacier under any circumstances. Right and left there are deep crevasses - life threatening. But the outlook was fantastic. This is the Jungfraujoch.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092924_zps1e961eec.jpg

If you look closely, you see at the top  the Sphinx - quite small they stuck to the rock.
This is a big glacier demolition.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092931_zps14e7a624.jpg

Then we marveled at various exhibitions.

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092932_zps0b1ca84c.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092933_zps2233c6ef.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092934_zps2a62bc01.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092935_zps42a9e7ef.jpg

http://i1324.photobucket.com/albums/u614/Hemming60/TV1/P5092938_zps81315b10.jpg

Then it was time for the return journey. Everyone was tired and fell asleep on the train - we also. In Kleine Scheidegg we changed train,
