Travelog for: Pitzelpatz

Pitzelpatz didn't go very far, just to the mantel. He admired the mask that one of the children had made in art class. He also took a closer look at a very busy little red guy that they called Jumping Jack. Jumping Jack was given to the children by host mom's little brother, a half brother that she didn't get the chance to meet until he was 21 and she was 38! The kids told Pitzelpatz how much they adore their Uncle Eric, and that Jumping Jack is really special because it came from him.

A quiet day at home... Pitzelpatz admired a plaque that was hanging on the wall in the dining room. Host mom said it was given to her by an exchange student from Brazil who told her it was a replica of her state in Brazil, and that the stones are semiprecious stones from the area, and the other part is colored by butterfly wings.

Pitzelpatz wasn't sure if he'd have fun at dance studio sign ups, but went along because he enjoys the company of the host family and the other TVs. Much to his surprise, he met a lovely ballerina bear! His heart went all aflutter! He imagined dancing with the ballerinas, and even tried his hand at the bar.

Pitzelpatz was excited to go geocaching again; this time it was in Garnett. The first cache was easy to find, in a little park on the square. The next one was found in a garden area, just off the town square. Pitzelpatz was very curious! He thought Z and Fred Zombie made good geocache partners. On the way back to the car, he found a pretty, red lock on a door, explored a waterspout with Topple, and admired the clouds.

On the way out of Garnett, the group stopped at the South Lake to enjoy the view. Pitzelpatz and Z waited for the others in the shade, since it was a hot day. Then they crossed the lake on the over water bridge.

Pitzelpatz was so happy when it started to rain and the heat wave broke for the afternoon. The kids were so happy that they danced in the rain!

School is starting soon, so the boys took Pitzelpatz and the other TVs on a tour of some of the local schools.

Pitzelpatz enjoyed watching the clouds at sunset.

On the way to take some hedgehogs to the vet for a health certificate, Pitzelpatz stopped to admire a pump jack. Southeast Kansas has many of them!

Pitzelpatz was excited to go see the Nelson Atkins Museum today. He saw some interesting sculptures and beautiful paintings. There were some fascinating red blobs called scumak that were from a Swedish artist.

Pitzelpatz and the other TVs went to a church supper at RiverTree today.

Pitzelpatz thought that the ribbons for the upcoming hedgehog show were very bright and lovely!

Pitzelpatz came along to the optometrist today!

Pitzelpatz and the other TVs went to middle school with the kids to get their lockers assigned today.

Pitzelpatz went out to wish the kids an awesome first day of school!
