Hey Mummy,
We were at the airport early to pick up Miss Kate's friend's son after spending 6 months in Denmark. It was great, but the flight was 3 hours late, so we had 4 hours to kill. A motorcycle exhibit was fun to look at while we waited.
Love,
Pitzelpatz
P.S. I am so glad to find out my next host is in San Francisco because I got just a glance of that beautiful city and want to see MORE!

Sacramento, California, USA - 20th January 2012

Hi Mummy!
I am on my way to San Francisco. It's a very rainy and windy Friday, but "neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet, nor hail shall keep the postmen from their appointed rounds." Maybe I'll be there tomorrow? Or Monday?
I had a great time in Sacramento, but Miss Kate promised me a very nice host in San Francisco ... and like I said, I can't wait to see more of the city.
I thanked Miss Kate and said goodbye to my new toyvoy friend Tuli. I'm sending my souvenirs on to you.
Love you!
Pitzelpatz

Hi ho, everyone,
I hear a lot of disorganized chaos outside my travel coach. I have arrived at a new host's home. See ya later, when they find the scissors and camera.
Love,
Pitzelpatz
ps: Go 49ers!! (whatever that means). Passersby are shouting that all along the route from one host to the next.

San Francisco, California, U.S.A. - 22nd January 2012
By: LittleCableCars
Hi Mom, Miss Kate and everyone,
It was a nice quick trip from Sacramento, barely long enough for this bear to nap, let alone hibernate for the winter. I arrived okay, still wearing my Santa outfit. Santa himself carried me the last segment of the trip; he likes to do a little extra volunteering in the off-season, the Christmas Spirit continues into wintery January. .
Cheerful Cheerio had the honor of helping me out of my travel coach because she has visited my home country, Germany, as well as kcrawfish 's home in Sacramento. She and I had a long discussion of the places we both traveled to; small world, huh! Then DuDette gave me a big hug; she, too, has stayed with and traveled with Miss Kate!!
Then my host, Jeanne introduced me to the other ToyVoyagers here: Orkku Orava from Finland, DuDu from Shanghai, her sweet baby tiger, Jeremy, and her youngest, Noodles, a wise snowy owl.
They had a welcoming blackboard waiting for me where Jeremy showed me a few things to know about this stop on my travels. Eureka (I have found it!) is the State of California motto, oro en paz is part of the City of San Francisco motto (gold in peace, iron in war), The 49ers is the local football team, and K2 is the nickname for Jeanne's top floor apartment; you are welcome to plant your flag when you complete the assent.
My host was pleased to learn that I am a famous comic character; I will do my best to amuse the TVs here. I printed out a Pitzelpatz coloring book for our bedtime reading. He he, I'm Pitzelpatz, the pirate!
Will post more when I get settled.
Night night,
Pitzelpatz, the pirate

Hi,
It's wash day! Sometimes we pirates are doomed to walk the plank ourselves. Cheerio and Jeremy wanted to walk the plank, too, so they joined me in the tub. We scrubbed each other until we were all squeaky clean.
See ya later,
Pitzelpatz

Orkku Orava and Jeremy left town today TOGETHER by ship! When they get overseas they will split up and go to separate hosts.
We found photos of them checking out magnolia buds; we will miss them so much.
Bye Bye My New Friends,

San Francisco, California, U.S.A. - 3rd February 2012
By: LittleCableCars
Hi everyone,
Noodles was so excited; he got the honor of helping a new guest out of his travel box. He is a very friendly lion named Okuma who just flew in from Texas. I think we will be very good friends.
Then after a big meal, because you know lions get very hungry traveling and, to be honest, I was “hungry as a bear” myself, we went for a walk and came upon a huge hat displayed on a human-sized mannequin in the Hyatt Regency Hotel lobby. It is called “San Francisco Skyline” from the “Beach Blanket Babylon” musical which has been playing since 1974! It weighs 350 pounds and is all silver colored; it was created in 1999 in honor of the silver anniversary of the show; also, we think, because the producer of the show was named Steve Silver (1944-1995).
We are planning a big trip out of the city soon.
Bye,
Pitzelpatz

Emeryville, California, U.S.A. - 4th February 2012
By: LittleCableCars
Hi all,
We started out at the Emeryville, California train station. Emeryville is across the Bay Bridge from San Francisco near Berkeley. Where did we go? All six of us TVs went along and met up with two more! A ToyVoyager meetup!
There was some nice scenery along the railroad route as well as some yucky stuff like automobile graveyards, graffiti on concrete walls, and junkyards but also a cool ship mothball fleet, parts of San Francisco and San Pablo Bays, several bridges, some nice farms and animals, vineyards, walnut groves, a university, etc. This area is known for its natural marshland with lots of birds. Here we are sitting backwards watching the scenery we just passed. We liked the shots of the marshland.
San Pablo Bay
Oh, man, I’ve been here before. He he! This is so exciting, my host kept our destination a secret. Will show you more of our trip in the next update.
Having fun,
Pitzelpatz

Sacramento, California, U.S.A. - 4th February 2012
By: LittleCableCars
We detrained at Sacramento, the capital of California.
Then we toured the Capitol building and met kcrawfish and her ToyVoyager guests, Tuli and Little R2. It was a nice relaxing lunch.
We all walked around Old Sacramento which has a lot of preserved buildings from the wild west days and museums. We liked the raised wooden sidewalks.
Then we went galloping on a horse statue. Sacramento was one end of the famous Pony Express mail delivery service. The other end was Saint Joseph, Missouri almost 2,000 miles away. Telegraph communication was available at St. Joseph for communication toward the east. Mail addressed beyond Sacramento was sent by steamboat on the Sacramento River. That's how we would have received mail in San Francisco in 1860!
There were a few glitches on the trip but please don’t tell anyone. He he, we got out of jail quickly.
We will go visit again as there is so much more to see.
Having fun,
Pitzellpatz

Oldenburg, Germany - 31st October 2012
By: Jerena
Hi everyone! I´m here in Oldenburg, meet HelgaHH and Miggy and together we celebrated a little Halloween party. We ate lollipops and had big fun with the "Ahoi Brause" I brought with me. My host prepared some candles for a scary atmosphere and we watched "The Simpsons" Halloween special while we were waiting for the children that wanted some sweets
See you soon,
Pitzelpatz
