A butterfly and wildlife park, England - 3rd August 2010

By: miapearl

Today, I've come to a butterfly and wildlife park. First off, I took a stroll on the woodland walk. They have some fruit trees.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_7ODftPSZPsY/TGLrAFaWydI/AAAAAAAABm0/Wxt3KHvIRyA/s512/hypnosutton1.jpg
They have a llama.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_7ODftPSZPsY/TGLrA3SwlZI/AAAAAAAABm4/Ct__hIDmf6E/hypnosutton2.jpg
And an aviary. Perhaps this bird is a sparrow of some sort.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_7ODftPSZPsY/TGLrBg8tDXI/AAAAAAAABm8/Qdn2LPqsCaA/hypnosutton3.jpg
They have a number of birds of prey. This creature is impressive.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_7ODftPSZPsY/TGLrCW13qTI/AAAAAAAABnA/58OyDabUdng/hypnosutton4.jpg
Inside, they had some leaf cutter ants working their way from the source of leaves back to their nest via a rope.
http://lh6.ggpht.com/_7ODftPSZPsY/TGLrC3EwNTI/AAAAAAAABnE/_UBNd8eSK20/hypnosutton5.jpg
The butterflies were flying all over the place but rarely rested for photos to be taken. I think this is a swallow-tail butterfly.

Maud Foster Mill, Boston, England - 6th August 2010

By: miapearl

Today, we have come to the town of Boston in Lincolnshire. This is a 5-sail working windmill, the Maud Foster (landowner of the land a few centuries before the mill was built in 1819).[img][/img]
The brick tower stands 64ft (19.5m) tall. The sails are 37ft (11.3m) long and are the longest working sail son a windmill in the UK. The owner of the mill was on a working holiday in Tasmania (building a Lincolnshire-style windmill).

Toledo, Spain - 2nd September 2010

By: Edit

Hello Mummy!

I have arrived to Spain! My host had to pick me up in the post office and when we came home I saw that there are lots of toys living here. I met two other dogs: Milou (he is very famous, he says he even appears in books with his friend Tintin) and another ToyVoyager Domino.

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TH-zezaWVXI/AAAAAAAADnY/dGdHn02m78M/DSCN1180.JPG

And here I am with Domino and LeoTiger, both are ToyVoyagers.

Hope to see something interesting soon.

Avila, Spain - 5th September 2010

By: Edit

Hello Mummy!

Greetings from Spain! In the weekend I visited Ávila. Ávila is the capital of the Province of Avila, which is in the autonomous community of Castilla y León. It is very famous of its medieval city walls, so I decided to see it myself!

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TIZk3R-bdGI/AAAAAAAADpg/no81F_YozV0/DSCN1187.JPG
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TIZk3zFLqHI/AAAAAAAADpk/_2wJko5Dnrc/DSCN1188.JPG
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TIZk4TKhncI/AAAAAAAADpo/t0nps_b63Aw/DSCN1190.JPG

My host said that the walls go around the old center in about 2.5 km and if I want we could do the whole circle. So we did!

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TIZk5kQ7gSI/AAAAAAAADpw/KIuH2LDVjzQ/DSCN1193.JPG

This was my favourite part:

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TIZk6eARlxI/AAAAAAAADp4/OtyCtWpQDGg/DSCN1195.JPG

And the walls again:

Toledo, Spain - 17th September 2010

Hello Mummy!

My host took me to see the Vuelta! A Spanish bicycle race which goes around the country. Stage 19 finished in Toledo and we went to see them. Unfortunately there were a lot of people and we could not take a picture with me and the bicycles, but it was fun anyway.

Toledo, Spain - 25th September 2010

By: Edit

Hello Mummy!

On a nice sunny day I convinced my host to take me for a walk in the historic centre of Toledo. I have heard it is really nice, and it is part of the UNESCO World Heritage list, so I really wanted to see it myself.

This is the first glimpse I had:

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TKc-GpgP5QI/AAAAAAAADy4/iIa3BIYP-Xc/DSCN1321.JPG
http://lh4.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TKc-HIfcvwI/AAAAAAAADy8/1d0OAP4Sajo/DSCN1322.JPG

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TKc-JQJ8ZZI/AAAAAAAADzI/Ne7eidwMOSM/DSCN1325.JPG

We stopped for a while in a nice park where I could run up and down a bit:

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TKc-I0VEF6I/AAAAAAAADzE/kVK1nhj8Rz8/DSCN1324.JPG

And here I am already in the old part of the city:

http://lh6.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TKc-KP8SjXI/AAAAAAAADzM/dOnwlqsLM6U/DSCN1326.JPG
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TKc-Kyi-E1I/AAAAAAAADzQ/mVe1J-dveSA/DSCN1327.JPG

My host said "mazapan" is a typical thing to buy here in Toledo, and people like to eat it around Christmas:

http://lh4.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TKc-LVPfw8I/AAAAAAAADzU/gcU3_qXnKN4/DSCN1328.JPG

We continued our walk, unfortunately the light was not the best to take photos:

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TKc-Lrqb90I/AAAAAAAADzY/sTFXsbZ_Rts/DSCN1329.JPG

This is the building of the Alcazar. Today it hosts a museum and the library, too.

And the view from a lookout point:

And here I am in the Zocodover square:
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_P9yA5AsMp6c/TKc-OMG7i8I/AAAAAAAADzo/ilencHQHP4c/DSCN1333.JPG

It was a really nice walk.
