Hong Kong, China - 13th May 2010
By: vivyanhui
Behind me is the Star Ferry,
a nice tranportation for crossing the Victoria Harbour,
I travelled it from Central to Tsim Sha Tsui,
you can see the night view is full of huge signboards.
It's bad that it's a bit foggy that the picture is not good enough.
On my way home, I took this funny picture,
there's no other people, just me!
on the left, it's a highway.
Above the shelf, it's a garden area of a housing estate next by.

Central, Hong Kong, China - 16th May 2010
By: vivyanhui
I was in the Central today, it's a commercial area with many skyscrapers.
And here, a transportation that can only find in Hong Kong Island,
it's the tram, it's a double deck one.
Though the journey is slow, it's nice and worth it~
All the skyscrapers are with lights on,
the one with triangle is the Bank of China,
in front of it, there's the Legislative COuncil Building,
it has a long history and was built in western style,
it's having a high contrast with its surrounding.

It is a well-known place of cloth and experienced-tailor,
there are kinds of cloth for you to choose, it's just like a maze!
I have a lot of fun in messing around the cloth~
Many tourists come here to make their ideal clothes.

Hong Kong Park, Hong Kong, China - 26th May 2010
By: vivyanhui
I went to Hong Kong Park with Miegalyte & Hypno-dog.
When we got into the Park, there's an eye-catching fountain in front of us,
and what surprise me is... you can go into the fountain!
Vi told that it's lots of fun inside and will absolutely all wet after going in.
There are some special and funny-looking plants in the Park,
for example, the 400-year-old jujube (also called Chinese date) tree and,
the balloon-like butterfly flower.
The fishes in the pond are so big that I am a bit scared,
it's glad that they wont jump out and bite me!
They are in many colours and got a big big mouth!
In the pond, I can see some tiny black dots, and all dots are actually tadpoles.
There are some frog-shapes decorations on the rocks.
And ssh! Don't frightened the turtles family!
Then it's time to have some adventure~
We came to a waterfall and behind it is a rocky cave.
Looking the waterfall from its back is quite interesting,
it really took some time for three of us to climb to the top,
it's hard but we finally made it! Yeah!!
Finally we came to the conservatory, inside we saw many special plants and flowers, s mini waterfall as well.

Legislative Council Building, Central, Hong Kong, China - 28th May 2010
By: vivyanhui
Last time I came to here was night time,
and today it's daytime, I found something I missed last time.
I found that there are some statue at the entrance,
It is a blind-folded statue of Justice,
represented by the Themis, the Greek Goddess of Justice and Law.
As well as a memorable plate in front, there are many chinese words on it,
however, I know none of it! Luckily there are English translation besides.

Outer Space, Hong Kong, China - 5th June 2010
By: vivyanhui
You know what?!?! What I did today was just COOL!!!
I went to the Space Museum at Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon with my TV friends here,
Michel, Ferda & Miegalyte.
It's a sphere shape building and really looks like a giant white egg.
Inside we saw some exhibits showing the law of gravity,
the solar system, and the most unforgettable experience is...
I was in the outer space~
I even had a chance to be the captain of a rocket,
I went into the control room to have a try on it!

on the tram, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong, China - 12th June 2010
By: vivyanhui
I had a tram tour today,
tram is an transportation that can only found in Hong Kong Island,
it has its own track and tram lane, it's slow but relaxing.
I got on the tram at Central, there are international brands' stores,
malls and commercial buildings along the street.
Few minutes later, I reached Wan Chai,
the old building is the former pawn shop,
it's a restaurant now and is a protected heritage.
One funny thing on tram is that you are so close to the tram with the opposite direction~
The shops in Wan Chai are so different from those in Central,
there are neon lights too.
The building with rounded head is a well-known landmark in the district.
The fee of tram is HK$2, both coins and octopus card are acceptable.
Finally I arrived Causeway Bay, the streets here are always busy,
many buses on the street!

Hung Hom, Kowloon,, Hong Kong, China - 15th June 2010
By: vivyanhui
Tomorrow is the 端午節, Tuen Ng Festival,
for foreigners, they usually called it as Dragon Boat Festival,
as they can figure it out more easily.
I have no idea of what it is and keep on asking Vi about it.
Maybe because of my endless questions,
Vi took out a book from the shelf and start explaining.
The festival occurs on the fifth day of the fifth month of the lunar calendar on which the Chinese calendar is based.
This is the source of the alternative name of Double Fifth.
The Festival is originated in ancient China.
Today the best known of these relates to the suicide in 278 BCE of Qu Yuan,
poet and statesman of the Chu kingdom during the Warring States period.
He's a descendant of the Chu royal house,
Qu served in high offices.
However, when the king decided to ally with the increasingly powerful state of Qin,
Qu was banished for opposing the alliance.
Qu Yuan was accused of treason.
In despair, Qu Yuan committed suicide by drowning himself in the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month.
It is said that the local people, who admired him,
threw food into the river to feed the fish so that they would not eat Qu Yuan's body.
This is said to be the origin of zongzi. (rice dumpling in bamboo leaves)
The local people were also said to have paddled out on boats, to scare the fish away.
This is said to be the origin of dragon boat racing.
After the story, I am so excited of tomorrow's race,
I even made a cheering flag for the boats~

Stanley, Hong Kong, China - 16th June 2010
By: vivyanhui
we all went to Stanley for the dragon boat race today,
there's lots of people~
There's a Stanley Market that sells various souveniors,
maybe I can find something special here?
We head straight to the seaside, many people were there relaxing, and me too!
At the beach, it was so crowded!
It's still good that I can find a place for the race, though a bit far away...

Yau Ma Tei, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China - 17th June 2010
By: vivyanhui
Travelling on the double-deck bus is quite nice,
being on the first row is good too~
There's a window for the driver to keep an eye on the upper deck.
I sit there quietly to take a look around,
I notice that different district has their own characteristics,
and I am sure that Yau Ma Tei is well-known for the colourful shop signs~

Mongkok, Kowloon, Hong Kong, China - 17th June 2010
By: vivyanhui
Here's the very first and longest street in Kowloon - Nathan Road.
It starts from Tsim Sha Tsui (near seaside), and ends at Prince Edward (almost the edge of the Kowloon Peninsula).
It also has a lot of signs and people and busy traffic.
Maybe it's a place where bamboo scaffolding can be found easily,
since there are quite many buildings having renewal~
All of us were attracted by the neon lights of the shopping mall,
you can see that it has lots of ads outside its facade.

Ladies Market, Mongkok, Hong Kong, China - 17th June 2010
By: vivyanhui
Ladies Market is just like a flea market, but it's along the street.
Verious stuffs can be found here.
When buying things, you can also try to bargain with the seller.
we walked and walked, until Vi stopped at one of the stores,
I don't know what she had bought,
but finally we discovered that we have a new friend going home with us!
