Dreumel, The Netherlands - 20th December 2009
By: Sollie
Hello there!
Today we went to Dreumel, thats a very small place where my hostes' boyfriend is from!
They had a card playing competition there, and i had been looking forward to it for a long time already!
We got there at about 12:45, it started at 13:00, and we were playing untill about 17:00.
They welcomed us with coffee and thee and some christmas cake, and then we started!
Everyone was staring at me at first, but then Ragnhild said i was her mascotte, and they really liked that idea!
She let me help her play, it wasnt as hard as i first thought it would be, and we did pretty well!
At the first table, just started. It was 4 rounds, each round had 4 games, so we played alot of cards
This first table, my hostess won 1 of 4 rounds, not too bad, but not that good either...
Ofcourse we had some good drinks, this RED beverage was super!
I was kinda important, not only as mascotte for my hostess, but i helped them write down who won and all!
The 2nd game went better, and hostess won 2 of 4 games, making that a total of..uh...well..two...THREE wins!
Its going good!
Having some delicious snacks in between, they had enough, and they kept it coming!
In the end, hostess ended up winning 6 games, together with two others, so they had to play for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize!
Funny thing is, hostes' boyfriend also played that final, so they knew that they would go home with TWO baskets with yummie stuff in!
And GUESS WHAT>>> HOSTESS WON 1st PRIZE!
Isnt that great?
I mean, i was like the BEST (and only) mascotte in the whole pub, thanx to me she won, and a GOOD win aswell, it was a huge basket, with all kinds of good stuff in it!
(Can you even see me in it?)
Hostes' boyfriend won 3rd prize
Greetings from a very snowwy Netherlands,
yours truly,
MrCool

Enschede, The Netherlands - 24th December 2009
By: Sollie
To mommy, ich liebe dich und Froehliche Weihnachten!
After my host got home after work, we started stuffing the car with presents and clothes for our christmas trip to their friends, Dennis and Christel.
While they were doing this, they even got two boxes from Norway, with presents, just on time before we left!
That was so great!
This is their "Dom-Dom", as they called it, i don't think it was that stupid, it got us where we wanted to be!
When we arrived in Enschede, we were welcomed, and this huge plate with all kinds of good christmas candy was on the table!
Isnt it pretty?
Me, infront of the christmas tree, its dark, so you can see the lights better
I helped putting the presents under the tree...
And ofcourse, the food had to be brought to the table, and i was the best helper they said!
Dinner is seeeerved! My host even brough Norwegian traditional christmas food, "ribbe", its like spareribs but with more meat on it, kinda.
Enjoying the food...
After dinner we opened the presents, I handed them out to everyone.
I even got to meet santa! I have always imagined he was bigger tho..
He was very quiet too, didnt say much...
We were relaxing the whole evening, eating some very delicious candy, they even looked cool! See?
Then we watched a movie, it wasnt that good, really weird dutch humour...hmmm...
This was our bed, big enough for the 3 of us!
Before we went to bed, we had to...
...Brush our teeth ofcourse
Then i got to read some comics before i had to sleep.
My host got a few comic books from Norway, i didn't understand what it said, but i looked at the pictures, and it was funny
And then it was the end of a long, but very nice day!
Have done lots, seen lots, eaten LOTS and just had a great christmas celebration!

Enschede, The Netherlands - 25th December 2009
By: Sollie
Its not as much snow in Enschede as in Elst, and when i looked out the window this morning, it was starting to melt a little, even tho it was snowing a tiny bit this morning, it was all gone by the end of the day
We had a very nice breakfast with boiled eggs, fresh squeezed juice, fresh baked bread and so on
(I think im starting to gain some weight mom, theese people dont do anything else than EAT!)
I LOVE salmon, and ate it all!
Christel was wearing a santa suit! I kinda like dutch girls, they all let me sit on a very nice spot!
In the evening we started playing "Catan", it was FUN, and i got totally hoocked on the game!
My host and me didn't win, even tho we played it twice, but it was really fun, and we are going back again next weekend, after new years, to play some more!
FOOOOOD again
It was really cute, theese small pieces of meat and veggies, and everyone cooking for themselves, and it was like MY size meat even!
I could take what i wanted, and then put it on the grill, turn it around a few times, and them eat!
The mini-meatballs were super tasty, and see, im eating veggies too, good huh?
That evening we spend playing "Catan" again, untill 1:30, i was soooo tired, but it was super fun, and another super day!

Enschede/Dreumel, The Netherlands - 26th December 2009
By: Sollie
Today was our last day in Enschede, my host and her boyfriend had to go to his parents to be with the whole family, and so did Dennis and Christel, so we packed our stuff, and drove together to Dreumel.
My host is very carefull with me, im not allowed to just hang around in the car, sometimes im allowed to walk around a little and such, but she sais its not that safe...
It was a little bit more than one hour to drive, it went fast, with some good music and good company, no problem!
It was not much snow left over today, but the sun was shining, and my host let me sit in the front of the car, looking out the window. <---Video
When we came to Dreumel, i admired the christmas tree and stable they had there...
And i met jasper again, remember him mom?
We had lots of fun together, and talked about the last time, he is a cool guy aswell!
So, that was my christmas mom, it was a nice one, even tho i missed you a lot!
Maybe i will be home for christmas next year!
Untill next time, all best wishes!

Dreumel, The Netherlands - 31st December 2009
By: Sollie
Hello!
New years eve, and we were all invited to a pub in Dreumel to celebrate.
It was a warm welcome, and as always here, plenty of food!
Me sitting at the table we were sitting at all evening
The bar owner pulled that "look, im hanging on to a BEER BOTTLE" joke again, im getting rather tired of it tho, and i promise you, i did behave this time, and didnt drink a drop of beer!
They had this funny poster on one of the walls there, and i knew little about what this had to do, with what happened later that night!!!
Me posing with one of the guests, he was very quiet, very odd, but he was ok i guess
This is the only picture that got worth showing, of me and the fireworks, but you can KINDA see it, kinda...
This is the front of the bar where we were, they have just been changing the letters of the name of the pub, and some of them are still missing, cause the guy that was supposed to do it, didnt have enough of them with him!
After the fireworks we had even more fun, and the guys thought it was funny to cover me with crackers...i had fun eating them :P haha
SEE what they had for me?
My very own Flügel hat! hahaha
It was HILLARIOUS!
After a while (it was like...2 in the night or something...) i started to get tired, and got to rest a bit in a pocket...
I was really happy to be able to sit in his pocket, it was warm and comfy, and i could see everything and everyone from there!
And before we left, i was looking outside the window, it was a new year, it had started good, with good friends, music, food, drinks and laughter, couldnt be better...
Miss you lots tho!
Happy New year!
Yours,
MrCool

Hey!
Yesterday we went around in the cold snapping photos in front of churches. Brrrrr! One of the churches was red, though! That one's St. Anne.
On Friday we're going to France. I hope it's warmer.

Pordic, Cotes d'Armor, Brittany, France - 5th April 2010
By: Shepherd9
Finally! These people never let me talk to my owner!
So, we went to France. I seemed to spend a lot of time on the inside of a suitcase with LucyK. That goose!
My hosts bought a house near the sea and they have lots of work to do on it. We spent lots of time at shops buying paintbrushes and stuff.
They said they don't want to paint any of the rooms red. What's up with that? There was nothing red in Brittany. All the houses have blue shutters and the flag is black & white. But the French flag has red in it!
Here we are at the house and at the beach.
We went to Paris too but nobody wanted to take the train into town that day. My hosts think Paris is too crowded and depressing compared to Brittany.
Now we're back in Lithuania and the snow is gone!
Next trip, if you're okay with it, is Stockholm for my little host's 10th birthday.
