Hello Mom!
I'm sorry I didn't update right away after going to the farm animals exhibition, but firefaery took so long to upload the pictures we took.
We went to the Exhibition which included barns with cows, sheep, donkeys, llamas, poultry, and other animals. There were also stables where there were lots of horses. Some were Clydesdales, Percherons and Belgians which were used for the cart hitch. This is a picture of a 6 horse hitch. It takes a lot of work to get these horses all set up, and keep them in line!
This is a picture of me with some Holstein cows. There was one there that was only born that morning! They are used for milking. They take the babies from their mothers, and bottle feed them because they need the milk that the mother produces for their business.. That made us sad.
These are Ayrshire cows. The babies were with their mothers so they must not need their milk.
It was SO HOT there that day. We didn't take too many pictures with me, however I saw a horse/owner costume parade, petted some baby chicks, and saw a lizard show. Firefaery loves going to the exhibition!

The Royal School, Haslemere, England - 29th September 2009
By: Donna Balsdon
Dear Mom!
I have arrived in England! I arrived this morning, in my envelope, just after 9am. I wasn't released from the envelope straight away; first I spent some time in something my host calls her 'pidge', which appears to be a wooden shelf where her post is put. Donna then came and collected me at 10.50am on the way to 'briefing'.
Donna seems very nice. She's explained to me all about her set up. Apparently this is a boarding school and Donna lives and works here looking after the girls who board. She has a flat in the boarding house but I've not been there yet because Donna is currently working so I am working with her.
At the briefing I sat in my envelope and listened quietly to all the announcements. Donna said she would have got me out but that she thought the other staff might look at me funny! I didn't mind too much because there was a lot to take in just from listening. I now know about some of the girls here (but can't write about them here cos its confidential!) and that Donna's boss Sue is completely crazy about sport.
Once briefing was over Donna brought me to the QE2 office. QE2 is the boarding house where the 6th formers (the biggest girls) live and this morning its Donna and I's job to make sure they are all working quietly! I will take some pictures of QE2 next time we are here so you can see it, but for now I am just sitting on the desk, watching Donna plan her 30th Birthday Party. Apparently we're only here until 1pm and then we're going to take Donna's dog on a walk! I'll come and tell you all about our walk later...
Love you mom x

Dear Mum! I am SO sorry that I have not updated before. My host got your postcard today and feels really really bad that you have had to write to her. She has asked me to tell you that she has been really poorly (and I know this is true because I have been watching her sleep!) with a post viral infection after the flu and is only today returning to work! She says she will send me on to Bristol this weekend (she will not get to the post office until then) and that tomorrow she will upload the photos she has taken of me so far. Its not been all boring since I got here - I have had some adventures.... but more about them tomorrow x
Love you x And big big sorries from my host x

Bristol, England, UK - 27th November 2009
By: thEkangaROO!
Hey!! I arrived in Bristol on Friday 27th November.
Bristol is in South West England. It used to be a big Port town along time ago.
This weekend we went Birthday present shopping for my host's Mom. This meant I got to see all the shops in Bristol Town Center, we also saw some Christmas decorations that have gone up quite early. I got to see the Harbourside and there were some ferries going up and down the water.
Today I helped my host do her art coursework, this was fun but I had to be careful not to get paint on me.
Over and out from Bristol.
Updates soon.
Love PinkyHH

HAHA! I really love my breakfast today!
English muffin with choco cookies...
Do you know why I like it?
The best thing to do during breakfast time is to read newspaper.
The one I am reading is "Apple Daily", one of the most popular newspaper here.
It's full of ting little square-like text, and I know none of them....
except the english words~
The layout of newspaper is quite eye-catching and usually, photo-based.
One thing very special, for some news, it has a code and phone number for you,
after you called and insert the code, a SMS will be sent to you,
in this SMS, you will see the news report video of that news.

Today I saw a ship-like shopping mall,
it locates in Whampoa Garden,
one of the well-known estate in Kowloon.
it's not a real ship, but in the past the place here is a pier,
so the mall was made into a ship-like one.
Funny sculptures can be found too.

On this 13'C fine weather day,
I visited the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens (HKZBG).

It's founded in 1871 and occupies an area of 5.6 hectares.
It's very amazing that it's quite crowded and land is limited in Hong Kong,
so the garden is actually surrounded by buildings,
but luckily it's locates on the slope, so the view is still very good!
The Garden is divided into 2 parts by a road, but linked by a subway.
I went there with my friends, Henry-Bo & PinkyHH
We saw quite a number of animals,
There are lots of animal-shaped rocks as decorations.
And I met a jaguar called "Siu Fa" (meaning: small flower),
she lived here for 19 years and died in 2008.
And she's from Germany~

Vi went to supermarket with me, to buy some snacks,
there are various kind of snacks and are imported from all over the world.
Marbo - a twin-cake in cappuccino flavor
Green packing - green tea flavor biscuit
Grey packing - dried grapes
Panda biscuit - chocolate biscuit
Dove - chocolate bar
Yellow candy - honey candy
Red candy - honey candy with coke flavor
Orange packing - herbal candy which smooth your throat
Wah Yuen - sweet dried pineapple
I was very interested in the chocolate coin.
One side there's "Kung Hey Fat Choi",
and the other side are the 12 animals symbolizing the Twelve Branches used to designate years (according to lunar calendar).
The order is:
1 - Rat, 2. Ox, 3. Tiger, 4. Rabbit, 5. Dragon, 6. Snake,
7. Horse, 8. Goat, 9. Monkey, 10. Rooster, 11. Dog, 12. Pig
p.s.
I saw a comic poster with the well-known comic character on it,
it's Master-Q, and vi said that she read it when she's small.

Having japanese food tonight,
yummy seafood bowl with tomato soup based, sushi,
iced plum juice with lime, see how big is the glass!
After dinner, went to have dessert,
from left:
durian pudding, grapefruit and mango with mango juice, red bean pudding,
the front one is glutinous rice cake with mango inside.
the yellow balls are sweet rice cake, before you eat it,
you have to dip the sesame and peanut first, and it's a hot dessert.
Another hot dessert beside is the stuffed dumplings,
made of glutinous rice, served in soup, usually have black sesame inside.
