My name is Poppy and I am a teddy bear. I am very brave as I am leaving home very shortly to go on a big adventure!

First I had to say goodbye to my family. I tried to say goodbye to Oliver the dog. But he was sad that I was leaving. Eventually he got over it, and gave me a big lick!


Then I said goodbye to George the fish. He didn't seem too bothered that I was going at all. But that's all right because I never really liked him anyway. He's too mean, always trying to bite me through his tank...

Lastly I said goodbye to my owner. She gave me one last cuddle, then sat me down to contemplate my next move. I hope I get to meet some really nice people and see some exciting things! If you are reading this then you're probably one of those really nice people! Please take good care of me, let me join in with your lives for a while, then set me free again so I can see as much of this beautiful world as possible!

Today my new friend Purple Ted & I went to GOMA art gallery. We caught the train in to the city with Purple Teds family. After we went to GOMA art gallery we had lunch with their Dad. Then we took him back to his work and we took the train home again.

Last week I was very lucky and I got to spend the day at school with my friend Purple Ted's little girl.  I had a great day with the Year2 kids at Manly West SS and learnt lots of things like Maths.  I even got to do some colouring in.  I really like school and want to go again.

Today I said goodbye to my friend Purple Ted and her family.  I was a bit sad to go but I am very excited to be going on a new adventure.  Purple Ted's family have passed me onto to friends of their family who are going to take me on holidays with them to Hawaii!!!!

I can't wait to get started on my new adventure.

Hi Everyone,
I am having fun at my new home.  Yesterday I played in the garden with my new friend, Bluey, the cattle dog.  Today, my new host, Granny took me to visit and play with lots of new friends who live at her sister's family home.

I am getting really excited about my holiday to Hawaii.  We leave on Wednesday. Granny told me we will fly to Sydney then across the Pacific Ocean to Honolulu.  We are going on a cruise all around the Hawaiian Islands.

Today I visited my new friends again.  We had lots to talk about and I heard about their adventures and where they had been.  Some of my new friends come from Canada, England, Ireland and USA and now they have made their home in Australia.
My favourite new friend is Monkey.  He looks a bit grumpy but actually he is very happy and friendly and has lots of interesting and funny stories to tell.
Monkey has invited me to join his family on an Australian Outback Adventure Holiday.  They are leaving in 4 weeks time and are going to travel through and explore the Northern Territory and Western Australia.
I don't know what to do now.  Will I return to Australia and join Monkey on this adventure in Australia or will I be set free in Hawaii?

Ah!!  Decisions, decisions!!

It is very exciting. I am at Waikiki Beach Honolulu.
I feel like a 'Time Traveller'!! 
My plane departed Sydney Australia at 9:20pm on 18 May 2011 and arrived at Honolulu Hawaii at 11:00am on 18 May 2011. We were greeted with a welcome orchid lei from Lorrie and Bill from Travel Bug.  They are our guides during our vacation in Hawaii. 
The hotel where I am staying is right on the beach at Waikiki and there was a lovely gift of yummy cookies and chocolates waiting for me in my room.  There is a picture of Kitty Cat on the chocolate packet. 
I'm going out to explore Waikiki and visit the International Market Place.

Aloha,
Early this morning I had fun on the beach at Waikiki and visited the statue of Duke Paoa Kamanamoku who was a famous Hawaiian surfer and Olympic swimmer.  I spent the rest of the day visiting the Polynesian Cultural Center.  It was wonderful to see the pageant of the Long Canoes and to learn about the traditions of the Polynesian people. 
I wish I could dance like the beautiful Polynesian girls.

Early this morning I visited Waikiki Beach.
Then I visited the Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor.  I also visited the statue of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop who was the great grand-daughter of King Kamehameha.
Tomorrow our cruise around the Hawaiian Island begins, Yipee!!

I'm on the cruise ship and it is enormous!! I have a balcony suite which is really cool.  I can sit outside in the sunshine and smell the lovely fresh sea air and watch the beautiful ocean. 

This morning on our way to the cruise ship, we had a very interesting tour of downtown Honolulu.  We saw the Hawaii State Capitol, King Kamehameha's statue, Iolani Palace, Washington Place, Kawaiahao church and Mission Houses and visited Punchbowl Cemetery.

It was wonderful to explore the cruise ship while I waited for my cabin to be ready.
The cruise ship departed Honolulu at 7:00pm.

Aloha,
We arrived at Kahului on the island of Maui at 8:00am and we left the ship at 10:30am to begin our tour of Haleakala National Park and drove to the summit of a massive shield volcano that rises 10,023 feet above sea level.  We had fantastic views of Maui.  We also saw the beautiful Ahinahina (Silversword) plant which only grows in this area and can take up to fifty years to bloom.
We also visited the 1200 foot Iao Needle and the sacred Iao Valley.

We returned to the cruise ship around 3:00pm and I had plenty of time to relax on my balcony and also explore more of the ship. Later at night I went to the Hollywood Theater and watched the Polynesian dancers.  Wish I could do the moves they do!

Today I visited the Maui Ocean Center at Ma'alaaa where I saw green sea turtles, reef sharks, living coral and other sea creatures. 
Back on board the cruise ship, I visited the blast off video arcade  and then explored more of the ship.

Last night we departed Kahului Harbor at 6:00pm and sailed throughout the night to Hilo which is on Hawaii's Big Island. The Big Island is known at the 'Orchard Isle'. We docked at Hilo at 8:00am.
Today I visited Rainbow Falls and then toured through Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. We were told the park has two of the world's most active volcanoes and we heard about how the Hawaiian Islands were formed from these volcanoes.  I saw steam vents, the Jaggar Museum and then viewed Halemaumau Crater and Thurston Lava Tube.
Back on board I continued to explore this big ship. 
We departed Hilo at 6:00pm to sail towards Kona, which is also on Hawaii's Big Island.
