Grafton, VA, USA - 19th December 2007
By: 3tmom
We went to Tee's school today to help with crafts in his room. Since 3tmom didn't know what the craft was, we speculated about it amongst ourselves. I thought we'd make wooden toys.
None of us guessed the craft. It was a foam gingerbread house put together with extremely hot glue.
We worked together to get ours built. I got the manly jobs of roofing the house and using the gun.

Miami, Florida, USA - 24th December 2007
By: carlissa
I arrived in Miami on Christmas Eve! As I crawled out of my package, I was greeted by some very jolly Santas, reindeers, and gingerbread people:
My host told me there were some other Toy Voyagers visiting for Christmas, so I wanted to meet them!
Hello and Merry Christmas, Bear Me to U and Holiday Harry!
Then I saw the Christmas tree, and I just had to climb up the tree to get a better look at all the ornaments!

Miccosukee Village, USA - 26th December 2007
By: carlissa
Today we went to a Miccosukee festival at their village in the Everglades! First, we went to a hear a storyteller named Diamond. He told us that he is an educator and a storyteller. He told us many facts about the Miccosukee Indians. Did you know that the Miccosukee are not Indians at all - they are some of the native people of this continent and were here long before Chistopher Columbus sailed here.
Then we walked around to see what was at the festival. There were many outdoor shops selling things made by the Miccosukee and other Indian tribes. Since the village is in the Everglades, I also saw some of the wildlife that live here.
Here are some alligators and turtles:
This alligator wanted to eat me, but my host saved me in the nick of time!
I took a walk out on the boardwalk so I could get a better view of the Everglades:
Then we went to the museum and saw lots of interesting things. here I am with a deer:
Back outside, we saw lots of totem poles:
We were getting hungry, so I joined Me To You for lunch. We had frog legs, alligator, cole slaw and french fries. Ha! instead of eating me, I ate the alligator!
After lunch, we enjoyed watching the dancers and musicians. Many were in native costumes:
Before we left, Me To You and I played on this old dugout canoe:

Today we went to the King Mango Strut parade!
We got to the parade early, so Me To You and I decided to share some kiwi ice cream.
Yay! The parade is starting!
This juggler was really good!

Miami, Florida, USA - 31st December 2007

It's New Year's Eve! I wanted to watch a movie, so I looked through my host's DVDs and picked out a movie called Life Is Beautiful. The movie was in Italian, but it had English subtitles. The movie was very funny in some parts and very sad in other parts. I really enjoyed watching this movie!
Here I am with Prince Charming and Bear Me To U with the movie we picked out.

On the USATVT, USA - 29th February 2008
By: wourpet
It is suddenly of the utmost importance that the Conejo family rounds up all the strays and travelers for a family reunion at Easter. It would seem that Ahumado (Coney) Conejo is due to return from Iraq. His timing, even if we don't know the eexact date, is excellent since it was one year ago on March 24 of 2007 that the Conejo family were rescued in Springerville Arizona and set off on their worldly adventures. However it seems the fate of the Conejo family is not a happy one and many may have possibly ended up in the stew pot.
Coney joined the army and was soon in Baghdad traveling around in tanks and hummers. Azul ran off with a new and unknown friend following a July 4th parade and is likely deep in the Navajo Nation with no internet communication and unable to report in. Picado has clocked a remarkable amount of miles as he has crisscrossed the globe and is currently in California. He will make one last visit to Florida before returning home for the reunion. Morado has just started out on the Russian TVT so he will not be able to make it home, or so he says, but the pictures from Germany and Russia are indicative of a fondness for partying. Rosa spent most of the year at home waiting for Coney but was invited by a park ranger (after she had left her wallet and ID behind at Aztec Ruins National Park) to visit a friend in France where she would be able to reach a life mission and visit a winery. First, though, she would spend some time with the Park Ranger, including a road trip around Montana. She traveled from the snow of Montana to the vinelands of France in December and will hopefully be heard from again this spring. Maybe she can even come home for the reunion and then return to France. Blanche went to Australia and it would appear she fell into the fate every little rabbit worries about -- the stew pot – and she was never heard from again. All attempts to contact her host or to have her moved on have gone unanswered. The rest of the Conejo family is of little help. With Azul missing in action on the Navajo Nation, or maybe also in the stew pot, Rosa snowed either under in the wilds of Montana or crushing grapes in France, or also in the stew pot, Morado partying and dancing in Russia, and sufficiently stewed even if he’s not in a pot and Blanche in the billycan -- it is going to be a sad affair when Picado is the only Conejo present to welcome his brother Coney home from his long deployment in Baghdad.
It would be so good if the Conejos could find their way back home.
