Farmington, NM, USA - 13th August 2007

By: wourpet

Today we had a new visitor arrive.  We had heard she was coming and we were very interested in meeting her.
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1654.jpg
Aunt Flo, Blossom and Petal, Humphrey, Stinger, Blanche, Rita and me all gathered around waiting for Wourpet to open the package.

Not only did we get to finally meet Ballet Cindy but she had a travelling companion as well named Holiday Harry.
Humphrey was downright smitten with the pretty, but shy, Ballet Cindy.
He told me he might become a Toy Voyager afterall just to be able to meet more friends.

Vernal, Utah, USA - 21st August 2007

By: wourpet

Today Ballet Cindy and I got to go on a road trip and we are now in Vernal, Utah.  We had fun along the trip but it was very tiring.  I will tell you more about it tomorrow.
This is a picture of us when we were ready to get in the truck.  The next picture is us in the mountains and then a picture is of us in our bed in the motel.

Grand Junction, Colorado, USA - 21st August 2007

By: wourpet

The first stop of our trip was at Grand Junction.  We didn't stop very often but we did stop there and I wanted to get out and stretch my legs.  Wourpet was unloading the truck and left me and Ballet Cindy on our own so I looked after her.
She's quite shy but I helped her get out for a walk and we got back to the truck safely.

Ouray, Colorado, USA - 21st August 2007

By: wourpet

We went through the little town of Ouray.  It is called the Switzerland of America on the signs.  Wourpet told me it is pronounced you-ray.  Ouray is nestled at the bottom of a very high mountain called red mountain.  It has lots of victorian buildings and also has a hot springs.
There were lots of little shops along the streets but we didn't get to go shopping.

Molas Pass, USA - 21st August 2007

By: wourpet

Before we got to Ouray we travelled through 2 mountain passes. One was the Red Mountain Pass and one was the Coal Banks pass.  We also went through the towns of Durango and Silverton.
One place we stopped was up at the summit of Molas Pass  We were at 10,910 feet (or about 3325 meters) and the air is supposed to be the cleanest in all of the USA.  As we were going back down the mountain we drove past Molas Lake.
Then we ate at Montrose and drove on to Grand Junction.

We drove through a town called Dinosaur before we arrived in Vernal.  Everything around here has a dinosaur picture on it so I think today I will look for dinosaurs.  There are also lots and lots of petunias everywhere.  Vernal, Utah is a very pretty town.  Can you find Ballet Cindy and me in the flowers?

Vernal, Utah, USA - 22nd August 2007

By: wourpet

Ballet Cindy and I got up early this morning and checked the weather.  It was already a beautiful day.

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1758.jpg

We looked in the magazine the motel provided to see what there was in Vernal.  It also talked about the dinosaurs.

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1762.jpg

Here is the first dinosaur I saw today.  I really like the color!  It looked very friendly too.

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1771.jpg

Then I saw a dinosaur that looked much more ferocious.  Wourpet said we would get closer and check them out later.

We got to see the dinosaurs and I am really glad most were inside the fence.

Grand Junction, Colorado, USA - 28th August 2007

By: wourpet

Sorry about not reporting in but we have really been relaxing and enjoying ourselves.  While wourpet has been out house shopping or whatever it is she is busy at me and Ballet Cindy have been having a wonderful time at the Holiday Inn.  Our room is next to the holidome and when we make it through the patio doors we find ourselves in a wonderful world of plants, games, pools and spas.
We really have been kicking back and enjoying this but will update you more on some of our other activities over the past week soon.  We are also very excited about getting back home because my brother Coney is coming home from Iraq on leave soon.

Grand Junction, Colorado, USA - 29th August 2007

By: wourpet

We have had a great time at the Holiday Inn  and have also gone out on a drive occasionally.
We have seen the Colorado National Monument but didn't get any pictures with it yet.
In our room we have been visited each day by some nice ladies that clean it all up.  They propped us up with the pillows so we could watch TV one afternoon and another day they talked about all the paintings and left us to carefully study a large watercolor on the wall.
The hot tub has been our favorite spot and we spend almost every evening there but we also hang out at the outside pool and courtyard too.

Farmington, NM, USA - 31st August 2007

By: wourpet

We're tired and weary and back in Farmington.  The mountains we drove through on the way to Grand Junction looked very different on the way back.  The mountain called Red Mountain really was red.  There is a ghost town there called Red Mountain.

I still didn't get to go shopping in Ouray though.

Sunport Albuquerque NM, USA - 10th September 2007

By: wourpet

Today we left early for the airport in Albuquerque because my brother Coney and his friend Wuffy were supposed to be arriving at 1 p.m.
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1910.jpg

It was a nice sunny drive and Coney phoned and said his flight had been rescheduled.  We were at the airport early so we waited.

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1912.jpg

And when the plane finally came in we anxiously watched and found out he wasn't on it.  So we waited some more.

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1920.jpg

And waited...

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1913.jpg

Finally, when it was really late and dark out, the plane pulled up to the gate.

http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1918a.jpg

This time my brother and his friend were on the plane.  Wuffy picked me up so I could give Coney a big hug.  I was so excited to see him.

Farmington, NM, USA - 11th September 2007

By: wourpet

We didn't get back from the airport until midnight last night and we were very tired.  Wourpet carried us in the house and put us to bed.  This morning we went outside and found a really big surprise.  The Blue Star Mother's had been there last night and put up lots and lots of flags and decorations on the deck.
http://i147.photobucket.com/albums/r285/wourpet/Travel%20Toys/100_1928.jpg

They wanted to surprise Wuff on the Rocks and Coney with a big welcome home.

Today we had new guests arrive!  Froddo and Daisy Duck arrived from Iowa.  Daisy Duck is from Great Britain and Froddo is from Australia.  We were talking about our travels and we found out we were ALL visiting in Red River New Mexico recently.  I was there when we hosted Henry the Adventure Hound and Budd.  Froddo and Daisy were there when they went to a family reunion.
