Hello fellow toyvoyagers. Pirate is my name and adventure is my game **ruff ruff**
I have only just arrived in my new home country after being rescued by Niki Bear. To her, i am very grateful, it is asthough i have a reason to smile once again
I would like to travel the world and see everything possible, i have a few life missions that are top priority but in time they will be conqured!
I am going to spend some time sightseeing my home town before i depart on what i believe to be a once in a lifetime experience!
For now i am content to sit ontop of miss 6's soft hair and snooze for the afternoon.

California Farm Country, USA - 18th April 2008
By: MarthaTheCakeLady
Wow! That was some trip! I thought I would never get out of my cozy pouch! (hmm- wonder if that is how those baby koalas and kangaroos feel?) I finally got to Visalia, CA and it is beautiful here today! The sky is bright blue and Martha tells me it is 75 degrees F.
We are about to set out on a tour of the property where my host family live. There are so many trees.... so many choices! **ruff**
Before we left my host kids showed me their rooms. The girl's room was full of pink and dolls but the boy's room.... **ruff, ruff** ... HE LOVES PIRATES!!!! I got my picture taken on his ship.
We even found one that was just right for me.
Well we are off on our journey, I am pretty tired right now so I will probably write again tomorrow!

The Haley Homestead, CA, USA - 19th April 2008
By: MarthaTheCakeLady
Hello again! We had such a fun trip around the farm yesterday! I wanted to tell you all about it then but my hostie kids were too tired and grouchy!
I got some great pictures to show you. The first stop made me kind of homesick as I sat on top of a tire swing that looked like a kangaroo! Then we headed for the swimming pool where I got to climb Dinosaur Mountain (see me at the top?). Do you see the dinosaur in picture #4?
Then the girl wanted to show me how to climb on tires! She said these are from old tractors and they are going to put them in the playground standing up to look like a sea serpent! I hope they finish it before I have to go home-I have always wanted to fight a sea serpent!
The family lives in a plum orchard so I got to take a picture with some baby plums. They are a variety called Early Galaxy.
I also got to take a picture in a walnut tree. See the tiny little pineapple things by my ear? Those are the BABY walnuts! They are called Chandler Walnuts and they won't be ripe until Halloween!
Finally we stopped to take a picture with a big toy called a skidsteer. Do you see me sitting on the auger!! They were using this to dig holes to put a fence to keep the dogs at home! Martha promised me that I could take a picture with the dogs later.
We had one more stop to make and that was to visit the baby kittens. Normally, I don't like cats but I make an exception for kittens because they can't even see yet and the mommy was pretty busy- she did have five babies after all!
As we left for home I was sooo tired I could barely drive the golf car! It was a good thing Martha was able to help me!

Kaweah Oaks Preserve, CA, USA - 19th April 2008
By: MarthaTheCakeLady
This morning we went to see this beautiful place called the Kaweah Oaks Preserve. This is us at the big sign getting ready to go in. They were having a special demonstration of Indian (Mono Tribe) Basket weaving! It was incredible to watch them turn these scrawny sticks into beautiful baskets. We got to take a picture with a beautiful basket. There was even one man who was making rope out of tree bark! We got to help mash acorns. The Indians eat this stuff. I was afraid to try it but the girl really liked it- she went back for seconds! We got to eat a yummy fry bread with sugar and cinnamon! This was much tastier!
Right before we left I saw this patch of pretty wildflowers. Martha told me they are called Poppies. And they are the California State flower. They have the softest petals. and the seed pods would make great Pirate swords!!
Well I need a nice long nap after all that adventure so I will talk to you all later. Tonight we go to celebrate and remember Passover with the cousins, so I am sure I will have more to tell you tomorrow!

A Pirate ship in dry dock, USA - 21st April 2008
By: MarthaTheCakeLady
Well we had a very great Passover. It was hard for Martha cause she is a picky eater. And today we went to a birthday party for a man turning 90! (That's like almost 13 in dog years!) **RUFF**
I was captured by Pirates! Fortunately in the end they didn't make me walk the plank but decided to make me a co-captain. Check out the pics!

On top of a bird nest/house, CA, USA - 28th May 2008
By: MarthaTheCakeLady
Check me out! I am sitting on top of a rescued bird house! A momma bird made a lovely home for her babies in the heart of this trees trunk. The problem with this is that it weakened the structural integrity of the tree. So in the recent wind they had here the trunk split. Totally exposing four featherless baby birds. Martha was totally in tears about these babies so they taped up the trunk with duct tape!! Don't you know that you can fix ANYTHING with Duct tape!! They seem to be doing really well as they are still alive after a week!

in the Kitchen, CA, USA - 4th June 2008
By: MarthaTheCakeLady
Wow we just finished making 5 dozen cookies! Here is a picture of me lifting up the bowl on the stand mixer....its heavy!
I found the perfect perch for overseeing the glace as it was mixing!
Finally we got to decorate the cookies. They were for a surgical center in town so we made hospital gowns, syringes, scalpels, bandaids and capsule type pills. It was a lot of fun and only a little sticky! Ruff!!
