Sant Cugat, Spain - 21st September 2010
By: laureta7
Hi there!
Today has been a quiet and stay-at-home day. As you can see in the pictures, Lester and I did a little bit of a tour trough Laura's house (she is my current host).
We discovered her vampire section in the library and we watched TV for a while (but we didn't really understand it, as it was in spanish! After that we sneeked into her brother's room and played a while with some huge sea animals: a killer whale and a sea lion and her son. Finally, we visited the collection of water bottles that Laura's brother has in his room.
I hope you like all the pictures!

Barcelona, Spain - 24th September 2010

HI!
I'm sooo happy! Today we visited a lot of stuf!!
In the pictures you can see me in the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, it is a church that has been under construction since 1882 and is not expected to be complete until, at least, 2026. It is considered the master-work of Spanish architect Antoni Gaudí (1852–1926).
After that we took the car and went to Tibidabo, a mountain from where you can see all Barcelona. It was great, because the views are awesome! There's also an amusement park at the top of the mountain.
Finally we saw Torre de Collserola. It is a tower designed by architect Sir Norman Foster, and built in 1991 for the 1992 Summer Olympics. It is mainly used as a TV and radio transmitter, this futuristic design provides the highest viewpoint over the city. The top antenna reaches 288.4m (946 ft) and the top of the pod, which has thirteen floors, reaches 152m (499 ft).
I had a lot of fun! Hope you like the pictures!

Barcelona, Spain - 1st October 2010
By: laureta7
We visited Barcelona again!
It was so cool! But the battery of the camera died in the middle of everything and we couldn't take pictures of the last part of our day
The pictures that we have are from before lunch, and they are from doing a tour by car in Barcelona. There aren't a lo, this time, because the car went so fast, and I was afraid to fall out of the window, so I has hidden behind the window!
After lunch we visited Park Guell, and that's when the camera died. Park Guell is a garden complex with architectural elements situated on the hill of el Carmel in Barcelona, Spain. It was designed by the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí and built in the years 1900 to 1914. It is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site "Works of Antoni Gaudí". Sorry for not having pictures!

Today my host showed Vakinas and me some of her Halloween decorations! There aren't a lot yet, because there's still some time to hang them arround.
On daylight they aren'y very scary, but I assure you that during the night they have some scary shadows!

Hi!
Today was actually a sunny day! Something difficult lately...
As it wasn't very cold, my host showed me the views from her house, her garden, the plants and trees that she has there...
On the first pictures you can see me on the roof of her house. And, as she lives on a hill, you can see how beautiful everything is.
And on the other pictures there's me with a lemon tree, a cute plant and... Guess who??
That's a little dog she has on the entrance of her house! Whe have been talking for a while and he is a very interesting dog! Oh, he sends you all kisses from Spain!

What an interesting subject! Oh, hey! I have been so concentrated in helping my host Laura in some of her university papers that I haven't really had a lot of free time! Wow, she works very hard!
I leave you a picture of me helping her on her laptop, we were looking for information on Austria-Hungary!

Barcelona, Spain - 2nd November 2010
By: laureta7
Hi!
Today we visited Barcelona's Cathedral, and it was so gorgeous! In the pictures you can see me outside the Cathedral, inside it and finally in the cloister with the geese.
The Cathedral of the Holy Cross and Saint Eulalia, also known as Barcelona's Cathedral, is the Gothic cathedral and seat of the Archbishop of Barcelona, Spain. The cathedral was constructed throughout the 13th to 15th centuries, with the principal work done in the 14th century. The cloister, which encloses the Well of the Geese was completed about 1450. There 13 white geese are kept, the number is explained by the assertion that Eulalia was 13 when she was martyred.
I really had a good time and I loved the history!

Barcelona, Spain - 10th November 2010
By: laureta7
Hello!
As my host Laura had an hour of free time, she took me and Vakinas to Barcelona and we visited two important things: Torre Agbar and the beach!
Torre Agbar is is a 38-floor tower located in Barcelona. It has 50,693 square metres and it was designed by French architect Jean Nouvel. According to him, the shape of the Torre Agbar was inspired by Montserrat (a mountain near Barcelona) and by the shape of a geyser rising into the air.
After that we went to the beach for a while. It was great, I felt as if we were on summer again (and we are in middle november!). The beach that we went to is called Barceloneta, it is 1,100 m long, and it is one of the biggest beaches in Barcelona. It is also one of the oldest and most traditional beaches in the city.
