Hi Mum,

today we went to the city. The Altstadt (Old town) of Landshut is so pretty and there are so many things to discover. Unfortunately we could only take a few quick pictures because suddenly it started to rain. :-( But Martina said we will go there again soon.

Here you can see me infront of the Narrenbrunnen (fools fountain). There is no water at the moment, because the fountain is coverd with wood for the winter. The fool is made of bronze.



This is another fountain.



Next to that fountain is the Rathaus (guildhall). The three houses used to be seperated. The middle one was the first one to be baught by the city in 1380.



Opposite to the guildhall there is the town residence. It was built between 1536 - 1546 by Herzog Ludwig X as a city palace. Today there is a museum inside of it.



And this is the wonderful Altstadt (Old town) of Landshut. This is also the main shopping mall. There are lots of coffe shops and cafes. Martina says this is very nice in the summer. Now there are some huts where they sell Glühwein (hot wine punch).



The big church you can see is the Basilica of St. Martin. It is the world's tallest brick tower. Mum, can you believe that it is almost 131 meters high! I can't wait to see the inside of the church.

Hi Mum,

on sunday we went to Martina's sister. Almost the whole family was there. And of course me too. It's St. Nikolaus Day on the 6th of december. But since everyone has to go to work today we had an early Nikolaus party on sunday. We had some nice food and a lot of christmas cookies and as you can see we also had some hot wine punch. It tasted reeeeally nice but for some reason I felt sooo tired and a bit dizzy after drinking it.



Today on St. Nikolaus day Martina gave me a little chocolate santa clause as a present. It is almost as big as me. :-D



And then it started to snow. It's the first snow this winter. But it isn't cold enough, so the snow is still very wet and it melts quickly. But it is cold enough for a little guy like me. Brrr! Can you see the snow?



I hope you have fun on your holiday Mum. I have a lot of fun here! Everyone is really nice to me. :-D

Hi Mum,

how are you?  :-)
The last few days we mainly stayed in the house, because Martina didn't feel that well. But I can still tell you a few things that happened.
On Friday I helped Martina with the christmas presents. We wrapped all the presents in nice paper and tied everything up with a ribbon.
I was very busy as you can see.




On Saturday we went to Martina's Dad for his birthday. At first it was quite a good party. We had some cake and coffee. But then it was reeeally boring for me because it was all adults talking and talking... So I sneaked out into the kitchen where they kept the rest of the raspberry cake:



mmmmmh.... yummy! I wish you could taste this cake Mum!

Yesterday I put up the christmas decoration. Well actually Martina did... but I helped. And guess what I found in the box of christmas tree decoration... A little hedgehog sleigh :-)



Yaaaayyyy :-) This is fun! Hello Mum, can you see me?
But after a while my ears got very cold so I better went inside again to help with the decoration.
On a little table we put the stable, sheep and shepherds. A bit like at the Kindergarten.



Then we put up the christmas tree. Can you believe this, Martina even has owls you can put on the christmas tree. She really likes her owls... weeeell....

And then we were finished.



What a wonderful christmas tree :-)
But then I was sent off to play with Rosalie and Joey...Hm,...I wonder what Martina was doing??

Tomorrow we finally go to the christmas market. I can't wait!

Hi Mum,

it's been raining the last days before christmas. But we finally visited the christmas market. It's not a very good photo but you can read what the sign says.



It wasn't very cold so I didn't even have to wear my scarf.
We walked around the market and looked at all the stalls. But we couldn't get through to all the stalls because there were so many people.
But we had some hot wine & orange punch. That was nice.



After that we walked back into the center of the city which is quite near.
Isn't this a pretty christmas tree infront of the guildhall?



Next to the tree is a little hut with the holy family. I looked into it.



I think it looks very cosy.
But what I like most is the wonderful decoration in the Altstadt. There are sooo many lights :-) look:



On our way home we looked at some cribs. There are a lot of cribs everywhere in Landshut, that you can look at. They are in churches or shops. This one was in a shop window.



I had a really nice day :-) I wish you could be here with me.

Oh... I almost forgot. Yesterday there was something in the mail. It's a postcard from Martina's tv Binky. He is in Australia! But he hasn't only sent a postcard. No, he has even sent us a photo of him meeting a koala! Isn't that amazing?

Hi Mum,

it's christmas :-) I wish you a very happy christmas!
In the morning we had a lovely breakfast. We had smoked salmon, cheese, eggs, pasty, rolls, juice, coffee... Very delicious!



In the afternoon Martina went to church with her parents. It's kind of a family tradition. While she was away I looked under the christmas tree and I found a little present for me :-)



I unwrapped it...



...and look what I got:-)



Martina has made a hat for me!! :-)
It matches my scarf perfectly:



Later we went to Martina's family. We had some Sauerkraut and sausagges for tea. Another family tradition.



After that, it was time for the presents. There were many nicely wrapped presents under the christmas tree. Can you see me on the purple tin?



Later we all sat in the living room and had - guess what - more hot wine punch!



And very yummy christmas cookies:



I had a really nice christmas :-) Everyone wanted to take photos with me or have a cuddle.

Hi Mum,

on New Years Eve we had a Fondue. It was very delicious.


There was more food and drink and adults talking. So I decided to sleep. But at midnight Martina woke me up and we went outside to see the fireworks.

And I was allowed to light a sparkler. Mum, can we get some sparklers when I'm home? I like them :-)

Hello Mum,

a new toyvoyager has arrived.
At first we weren't sure what was in the parcel. But then we heared someone talking in there. "Hello? Hallo? Heeelp!"
We quickly opened the parcel and out came koala Logan.

Hi Mum,

today we went to the caslte "Burg Trausnitz". We had wanted to go there since Christmas, but the weather was always bad. Today it was freezing cold, but Martina wanted to show me this place before I have to go.
The castle was build around 1200.

We also looked at the inner yard of the castle.

When you want to leave the area of the castle you have to walk this way.

On the right side of this way you can see little holes. We think they had been used for cannons.

After that we went into the "Hofgarten". Kind of a park next to the castle.

This is in the Hofgarten.

At the "Schanzl" (which describes a place high above, where you can see far) we had a great view on Landshut and the St. Martins church.

Can you see the church in this picture? This is where we went to the christmas market. The church is called St. Jodok.


There is also a playground at the Hofgarten. But we rather went to see some of the animals there: (it's kind of very little zoo)

Hi mum,

Yesterday I arrived in lower austria at my hostmom.
A lot of fluffy toys welcomed me and helped me out of the package.
I also met two other TVs - LoverBaer and Klaus-Bärbel (the Teddy with  the heart and the pink dog)






The fluffy toys are so big. I got a little bit scared. But I brace myself and  said "Hello guys"


And they said "Hello little boy. How it's hanging?"
I noticed they were very friendly so we talked all night...


..and made a nice group shot.

Hi mum,

Today we drove to Carinthia and we are such a big group.


We drove 400km with the car and we needed more than 4 hours because the weather wasn't nice.


After we arrived, hostmum taught us how to chrochet. We need warm clothes, because tomorrow we will have -21°C.


Now we're going to bed, because we are so tired. GOOD NIGHT!

Today we used the gondola to get on the mountain.
Look how nice it is.






During the ski day, hostmum found a beautiful place to take a landscape photo. We helped Lover Baer to fulfill his lovemission.




Afterwards we got a hot chocolate and yummy cake.


In the evening we played UNO. This is so fun.

Good morning,

In the morning snow was falling.


So Pieksi said he wants to play in the austrian snow and we yelled " YEAH!"




Hostmum crafted us skis, so we could start our own ski tour.






In the afternoon, we skied with hostmum. Today it was very funny, because the slopes were full of deep powder snow.




At home we rested on Pancake. He has a special skill.
Hostmum puts him in the microwave for 2 minutes and warms him up. So we can heat up from the cold day.

Today we got a yummy breakfast with eggs, sandwiches, orange juice and coffee. Now we are ready for the slope.






On the mountains the weather is so lovely. Look how fine it is, but also very cold.

Hi mum,

In the morning we helped to get the car ready.


Later we had nice weather again and hostmum looked for beautiful photo places.








Tomorrow we will drive home to Lower Austria and after the weekend we will carry on to vienna.
Hostmum said she will take photos next week in Vienna, if the weather is fine.
