Liverpool , England - 25th March 2012

By: Gizalba

It was glorious sunshine :D Percy Pig and his mentor wanted to see Liverpool, so we caught the train for a day trip, although we were a bit late getting up... I peered into First Class but we weren't allowed in there. Still, I smiled for the CCTV camera ;) I think my smile will cheer people up. We stopped off to cool down in Starbucks then went to Albert Dock. The sun was now setting and the river Mersey looked beautiful.

Durham City, England - 13th July 2012

By: Gizalba

Hello mum! The dates of these next few updates are going to be out of sync with the real dates, but ah well. A few months ago my host's friend from London came to stay with her at uni so we showed her some sights. We went to the cathedral of course, then posed round the back. Can you spot us in the fifth picture? ;) Then we walked across the river to see a nice sight that we thought would look good in a painting.

Botanic Garden, Durham, England - 19th July 2012

By: Gizalba

On the day after we viewed the cathedral we went with my host and her friend to visit the Botanic Garden. This is near the Psychology department and near what we call 'the hill colleges' in Durham. The weather wasn't brilliant but at least the rain from the afternoon before had stopped.

The flowers were pretty :) And we met The Millennium Bug! (I forgot to include one of the pictures so the picture of her baby bug is at the end ;))

Then we went into our favorite area - where it was really warm and lovely with the cacti. For a few moments we pretended to be somewhere far away in a desert. Then we went to the next room which was a rain forest! :D This was very humid, but still interesting. There was a button that when you pressed it light rain came down.

Next we got to meet a tarantula. I tried to say hello but she didn't speak back, just stayed very still :( Some other tourists behind us asked whether Pinky bear and I were afraid of the tarantula but I think a general personality trait of a toyvoyager is curiosity rather than fear. My host likes tarantulas as they look fluffy :P ... but if it escaped the glass we probably would have ran! Haha. A less dangerous looking fellow was a froggy we found, but he too didn't seem to know English. He made some sound but I think it was frog-speak.

Then we had a ride on a giant Lilly-pad! :D This was the best bit. Apparently they could take the weight of a small child.

Hexham, Northumberland, England - 25th August 2012

By: Gizalba

Okay, we actually went here on the 21st of May - how long ago! But to avoid messing up the order of posts we're going to keep the date of entry as in August.

These are pictures from when we went to visit my host's friend Snamoen who also has TVs :D To meet all of these new faces was exciting for all of us. I met Sheela, Flummi, Hip /+/ Hop, Tobi, and Paula.

Our first trip was into the centre of Hexham, where we saw Hexham Abbey and went inside to investigate. We went down into a 7th century Crypt!

Afterwards we moved on to see the Old Gaol, which was the first ever jail in England. We had fun messing around in the stocks :p Unfortunately it was closed that day though, so we couldn't go in.

In the shopping area there was a toy orphanage! And my host's friend rescued Hippy :) We took Hippy to the park, can you see me in the grass? Then we found a nice monument dedicated to those who fought in world war I and world war II.

We were then tired so went back to my host's friend's house to rest. I found some lovely purple flowers to pose with in the garden :) And then we met the resident cat there, Snoopy!

Our adventures in Northumberland continue the next day :)

Durham, England - 21st October 2012

By: Gizalba

Dear Mom,

Oh how I miss you already. I am finding this very hard to write, as words cannot really do justice to how I am feeling.

Today the weather was beautiful, and through the sunshine I could feel your peaceful but smiling spirit looking down upon me. I went for a walk to collect my thoughts, and then we found a nice spot for us to lay your flowers. I hope you like these flowers, I picked them out myself, and I really like them.

Sienna came with me just in case I needed some support. She helped me with the flowers but then I started crying so she gave me a hug until I was calm. I didn't want my face to be sad for the special photo. I know you would not want me to be sad mom. Once I had let my emotion out I could smile properly, and I am smiling because although you are not physically here anymore, you will always be part of me. I feel like the luckiest bear in the world to be able to say that you are my mom. I will make you proud,

Love Edeleweiss xxxxxxx
