Symi, Greece - 21st May 2008
By: Chris & David
Kos was nice. I know that Chris and David have been there (before my time) and they enjoyed it. They have also been to Symi which was the next place we visited.
We didnt really go ashore in Symi, we were al really tired by the days sailing so we just lay around the boat catching the suns rays and getting a tan!

Datca, Turkey - 22nd May 2008
By: Chris & David
Today we sailed from Symi to Datca which is back into Turkey
I decided that it would be good to help the captain of the boat plot a course that was right. He seemed a nice man and even let me steer the boat for a bit!

Knidos, Turkey - 23rd May 2008
By: Chris & David
We are still off the Turkish Coast and enjoying the sailing. As well as Knidos we have visited Palamut and Mersinick Bay
There have been so many little coves and bays that we have visited on this trip that there does seem to be to many to mention really. Some of them have been so small that we have not been able to find them on the maps at home!
It has been so much fun tho, and Anna even took me canoeing in one of them.

Bodrum, Turkey - 25th May 2008
By: Chris & David
We have returned to Bodrum for our last night on the boat having spent the last two days visiting Karaincit, Adabogaz and Harmenten. They are all in Turkey but are too small for us to be able to plot them properly on the world map.
While we were having dinner, there was a really loud quacking noise from the water and all these ducks suddenly appeared from nowhere. Of course, I had to say hello but unfortunately they must have been tourists because I spoke to them in Turkish but they didnt seem to understand!

Dalaman, Turkey - 26th May 2008
By: Chris & David
An awful day! We should have flown home from Bodrum today but we were told that our plane had broken down. As a result we had to endure five hours on a coach in twenty six degree heat travelling to a place called Dalaman to catch another plane. We aren't going to get home for a long time.
It was very early in the morning when we got to the airport at Dalaman, we were all very tired after a long day, but at least we remembered to take a picture of us waiting to board the plane!!
I did meet some lovely ladies on the plane tho, they were really friendly and made me feel very welcome. They brought us a meal in the flight so I had to go to the end of the plane and thank them all!

Pudsey, uk - 27th May 2008
By: Chris & David
We got back to Manchester Airport at about 7.00 in the morning and dashed back to Pudsey. Stewart and Anna couldn't wait to get rid of me and shoved me back into that horrid envelope thing. After all the lovely sunshine of the last week this was a nasty experience!

Malvern, uk - 28th May 2008
By: Chris & David
When the envelope thing was opened today, there was David. It's quite magical really! Anyway I found out that Stewart and Anna didn't really want to get rid of me - they just had to get me back to Malvern quickly because I'm off on my travels again on Friday.

Ashford, UK - 29th May 2008
By: Chris & David
I'm with Sam and Adrian with whom I went to the Falklands and this time our trip is a little shorter. We are going to Belgium and Ashford is where we put the car onto a train to go under the English Channel through the tunnel.

Calais, France - 30th May 2008
By: Chris & David
The trip through the Tunnel was very boring as you can't see any crabs or fish or anything interesting.
Anyway - we made it to Calais and now we are off on the motorway to Belgium

Gatwick, UK - 7th June 2008
By: Chris & David
When David finished work the gang got together and travelled by train up to London and then to the airport at Gatwick. Waiting for a plane is boring in the middle of the night.
By the way, the 'gang' consists of Chris & David and Cardy and Martyn (and me). We aren't going to Sorrento again, we are going to Greece this time.

Aghia Efimia, Greece - 7th June 2008
By: Chris & David
Well it's been a long trip but we've made it. We have reached the lovely little town of Aghia Efimia on the island of Kefalonia. The sun is shining and the sea is the most amazing colour.

Aghia Efimia, Greece - 8th June 2008
By: Chris & David
Today was really nice to start off with but then something happened which made us think. We were sat on the terrace of our holiday home having an after lunch drink (it was coffee, honestly!) when everything started shaking. You could see the terrace walls moving about and the olive trees. All the things on the glass table started rattling and car alarms were set off in the village. It was quite an experience and we sort of laughed and joked about it after it finished.
Later on we saw pictures on the local television which turned our joking a bit sour - the earthquake had its centre in Patras (about 100 kilometres from us) and was 6.5 on the Richter scale. That means it was a big one, apparently, and not only was there a lot of damage but two people had died.
I wonder whether I might be the first Toy Voyager to be in a big earthquake.
