Travelog for: Strider

Moscow, Russia - 23rd September 2007

By: kristl

Hello everyone!

Yesterday Kristl took me from the shop where I was waiting for her for about two weeks.. And today I met C.K., who is a ToyVoyager. We went together with him for a walk and he told me about his journeys and countries he visited. I found it fantastic! In fact I'm a vagabond cat, I like to roam about different places so I think I'll like to travel. Kristl said that she has already ordered some travel tags and that I can get one of them! I'm very happy!

It's me in the car. I'm going home to Kristl!

Kristl's friend allowed me to sit on the wheel!

It's the first time I met C.K.

And some photos from our walk, cause it was the very beginnig.

It's me sitting near a tree.

It's me with C.K.

It's me and a yellow tree!

It's me sitting between two birches!

The leaves are beautiful, aren't they?

Now I'm waiting for the travel tag to start my journey.. I don't know yet where I can go.. But I'll try to find some friends!

I have arrived in Australia! Another TV arrived with me, Flora
We were greeted by Rangler, and I found that including me there are 6 Voyagers visiting!

I have looked around a little bit. This is sad - New South Wales needs rain badly! Look at the ground here...

Nik and I have been hiding a secret! We have planned a Halloween surprise for Flora! Nik says Halloween isn't really noticed here in Australia, but knew Flora would be disappointed.
She is used to celebrating it in the USA :)
We found some Halloween M&Ms (yum!) and I helped Nik make a Jack-O-Lantern out of a balloon.
Flora was very happy!
We read some scary, true ghost stories together, then Flora wanted to read more scary stuff!
I am really surprised I didn't have any nightmares!

Oh my goodness, I can't believe it!!! Alpina, the supermodel Alpina, is here!
I have admired her career for a long time! I was so shy about meeting her, but she's very nice.
I even got to kiss her, which as you can see sent me weak at the knees!

I had more excitement (as though meeting Alpina wasn't enough!)
Today is Melbourne Cup day, Australia's biggest horse race.
Nik put a small bet on for each of us, so we studied the horses very carefully. Alpina looked lovely wearing Flora's tail flowers.
We had a fancy picnic lunch, just like the ladies at the races do, then it was time for the race!
But, none of our horses did well. The winner was a horse named Efficient.

Maitland Heritage Mall, Australia - 30th November 2007

By: Prowl_Worshipper

I made a new friend today, but soon we will say farewell! Nik took us all to Maitland Heritage Mall to do some Xmas shopping, and she will release my friend Ziggy into the wild.
He is unusual - tiger stripes and zebra body!
It was wet and miserable day though. Nik almost changed her mind about releasing Ziggy.

This is a public toilet! How unusually painted! Nik told me that bird swimming there is a Western Australian black swan.

The rain stopped, so Nik still released Ziggy I wished him luck, and we wandered the mall a little bit. Nik said these outside malls are getting rare in Australia - most shopping centres are indoor complexes. This one still has 19th century buildings, and these beautiful old working lamps!

I met a new TV from Taiwan!
Mousy Mouse looks like a doggy to me, and the poor thing had a fright when he arrived! He thought all us cats were going to eat him!
He settled down though. Poor MM!

It's so hard to believe it nearly Christmas! It's so warm here in Australia. Most people have plastic Xmas trees because real ones just die in the heat. Isn't the tree pretty?
We took a group photo under Nik's nan's tree, and peeked at the presents! I know what Nik's nan is getting for Xmas now ;)

We've been watching the cricket! Australia played New Zealand for the Chapel-Hadlee cup, one Nik says Australia has never won. A one-dayer, so Nik explained, is where each team only has 50 overs (an over equals six balls bowled by the fielding side) to score as many runs as possible. It's a confusing game, but Australians seem to love it!
We all watched for awhile, but it's kind of boring!
Australia won the match, by the way, so Nik was happy!

Nik thought some of us might be feeling a little bit homesick because it's near Christmas, and we're in a strange (and HOT!) country.
So guess what - she made us some pretend snow to play with!
It's called D'Ziner snow. It's like a florist's gel, but it really looks like snow. We had more than you can see here but it was so hot it started melting!
It felt very strange playing with "snow" under the shade of a big tree in 35 degree heat!
We tried making a snowman, but, well, as you can see, December in Australia is not kind to snowmen...even made from pretend snow!
