Travelog for: BONZ

Eugene, Oregon, USA - 27th January 2008

By: BunTraveler

                                          "Gouls in Life"

BONZ is looking for a some what goulish adventure in his wondering ways and would like to revisit his friend Barthelemy to possibly kick up some action in his crypt.
In the "afterlife"  without anymore "Halloween" parties and friends like Barthelemy, leaves him, well, empty inside.  :stare:

He would like to travel the underword and travel a  new "Haunting Trail" of "gouls - goblins and ghosts" and meet up with other gothic characters.
He looks forward to one day joining in and haunting an old mansion or other gothic resort with other skeletal remains and ghosts.  ;)

His greatest asperation is to meet up with his friends on "Tales from the Crypt" or possibly one day meeting Elvira.  He is in LOVE with Elvira.  She makes him drool.

If you have a somewhat feendish empty space in your heart and would like to entertain and host a set of BONZ then please do give us a rattle will you.

He travels with a small notepad (in photo).  Otherwise only the bare necessities to get him from haunting to haunting.

AWWWWHHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA!

BONZ Itinerary:

ScottishLass  Feb/March

BoneYard Bears  May/June
Mistigree July
Pandamao August
September is open

If you wish to entertain our BONZ during the year --please let us know.
**He is looking for a SPECIAL HOST during the month of October and spend Halloween at a BIG PARTY!

BONZ will be traveling to visit "A Scottish Lass" and is leaving on Monday.  Soon we hope she will give him a whirling devilish good time and haunting experience in the darkness of visiting tombs.  Here I am sure he will feel at home.

BONZ is excited about visiting a few of the dark and cold castles and mansions of the country side and possibly find a cold cript or two to hang out in .

Remember, he is still looking for the love of his life, Elvira,  and will search the world over to meet her.

See you there my goolish friends.

Paisley, Scotland - 25th February 2008

By: A Scottish Lass

I have arrived in Scotland and the weather is blooming awful!

There are two other Toyvoyagers here, but both of them are pretty scared of me - I dont understand why?????????

My hosts daughter has another set of bonz called sculz and I have even been promised a meeting with the grim reaper - I am so excited about this I am shaking all over,  any more excitement and my ribs will be playing a tune!

Anyway I am off to be properly introduced to everyone and get some photos taken, well I will be introduced to everyone if we can find them, they seem to be playing hide and seek at the moment, I must be IT! I wish they had told me

Anyway will update you again later.

Bonz xx

Just wanted to show you my bed, the others sleep in a frilly girly bed, but my hosts understand that, that would be my worst nightmare, so I have a special bed all to myself - of course it is not as good as my coffin back home but I love it all the same.

and this is it when the candles are lit, so cool!

We went on a visit to a cemetery last week here are some of the photos that we took, this cemetery has graves dating back 200 years - even older than me!

I met another Bonz last night, his name is Slim Jim

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/greyhoundgal19/DSC00144.jpg

We think he met his end under a road roller, very sad  :(

http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g92/greyhoundgal19/DSC00145.jpg

But he is very nice, if not a bit thin on conversation

Toulouse, France - 20th April 2008

By: Mistigree

Hi there !
I arrived in France while Mistigree was on holiday in Belgium. Therefore I wasn't welcomed by Mistigree but by her gargoyle.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2124/2476139332_bf2c9c6179.jpg?v=0

She showed me my bedroom. It is situated in Mistigree's living room, on the ceiling... A very windy but comfortable place for me to hang !

Toulouse, France - 21st April 2008

By: Mistigree

A new ToyVoyager arrived while Mistigree was in Belgium. It is Bertha, the cow from Netherlands. I wanted to be smart especially for her and I decided to change my used rope with a satin ribbon.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3168/2476463356_658bcced3f.jpg?v=0

Look how charming I am now ! It is the French elegance !
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2005/2475647059_3c72746e73.jpg?v=0

Bertha was first afraid of me. I can understand that, I'm a skeleton after all ! But soon, we made friends.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3124/2476463470_2788cdcbeb.jpg?v=0

I noticed she was wearing a rope too, but of course it is not a hanged person's rope, just a nice ribbon with a small bell. She lent it to me, but I'm not used to wear such a bulky rope and I gave it back to her very soon !

Labastide-Beauvoir, France - 1st May 2008

By: Mistigree

Today, Bertha and Mistigree went to see a kind of flea market in a little village just near Toulouse : Labastide-Beauvoir.
When we arrived in the village, I saw this cross that aroused my interest and I decided to go and see what it was while Bertha and Mistigree were going to the market.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3122/2476139406_3f07c51a2a.jpg?v=0

In fact it was part of the cemetery gate !! I was so happy because I was going to visit my first French cemetery !! You may guess how excited I was about that !!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2027/2475322047_08f057df83.jpg?v=0

Oh noooooooooooooo ?! The gate is closed !!! I tried to force the lock, but you know, I'm only made of bones, I've no muscles at all, and I couldn't open the gate !!! I was so sad that Mistigree promised me to show me a BIG cemetery one day in Toulouse !! I'm eager to visit it !!

Toulouse, France - 19th May 2008

By: Mistigree

Today was a great day ! You remember Mistigree told me she would show me a great cemetery : this day has come !!

This is the sign of the street where the entrance of the cemetery is. You may guess that "cimetière" is the French word for "cemetery".
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2022/2476145392_4d1d4d0a33.jpg?v=0

The entrance is made of a gate and 2 high columns, it is very impressive for people who don't like cemeteries, but it is not my case, I immediately felt just like at home !
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2044/2476139712_dd96c585ae.jpg?v=0

The name of the cemetery is "Terre-Cabade". On the sign at the entrance, it was written we could not take pictures !! Very strange as it is a public area, therefore, we took pictures though !!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2053/2475324685_8bc424995f.jpg?v=0

This is the main entrance and the guardian's lodge. The architecture is inspired from ancient Egypt.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2319/2476145298_5a5ed191bc.jpg?v=0

As it is very wide, there are maps all around in case you get lost !
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2357/2476142804_121f13e3b3.jpg?v=0

And the cemetery is divided into sections and divisions !
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2074/2476143612_802bcbdf8b.jpg?v=0

We decided not to use the map, but rather to wander in the course of our steps.

Toulouse, France - 19th May 2008

By: Mistigree

There are almost only old graves in this cemetery and many of them are covered with ivy or moss.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3281/2476142586_8530b8565c.jpg?v=0

There are even wild herbs and flowers that are growing upon the roofs of some tombs !
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3248/2476142258_d10f2c93ed.jpg?v=0

I saw many graves that were just like little houses, with brick walls, a roof and a door !!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2291/2475323391_ac0a9e943a.jpg?v=0

On this green door, you can see it is written "à bientôt"... which could be translated as "see you soon" !!!!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2089/2475323113_c9493dfd30.jpg?v=0

Some roofs are very worked such as that one with heads sculptures over it.
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3094/2476144756_739595832f.jpg?v=0

And look at this gothic one ! It seems there is a chimney on the roof !!! Maybe that's because it should be cold inside...!!
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3202/2476142046_4ccb7c002f.jpg?v=0

Two others gothic style graves here with a cross and ribbed vault. They are the tombs of the Timbal family and of someone called Prosper Gauthier, it was written on it, but don't ask me who they were !
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2347/2476144340_24e51f78cf.jpg?v=0
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2193/2476143400_964fe05dd5.jpg?v=0

Here the tomb has 2 guardians, I think it is Jesus and Mary but I'm not sure, I've never been to catechism class you know !
You can also see on the top a sclupture of a hourglass, I guess it represents eternity ?!
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3021/2476140794_cb277552a9.jpg?v=0

Woaw !!! It is straight out a little cathedral !!! I think the owners of this grave should be rich to have such a grave built !
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2212/2476144642_77257073eb.jpg?v=0

That one made me think of the Acropole with its greek columns. I already knew this grave because I saw it on Barthélémy's travelog before leaving my home in the USA !

Toulouse, France - 19th May 2008

By: Mistigree

This huge and impressive grave is the one of Aristide Bergès, who was a French paper manufacturer and hydrologist.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2050/2475325565_9e2689833f.jpg?v=0

There are greek columns and angels sculptures on it and it was built by a Swiss sculptor whose name I can't remember !
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2340/2475325667_2ddb97710f.jpg?v=0

Here you have a very different tomb as Arsitide Bergès one !! It even looks like an Ikea piece of furniture with 4 drawers !!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2019/2476140678_59ab5375ce.jpg?v=0

I guess the "resident" of this grave was a violin player !... I imagined the grave of someone who was a drummer... such an original grave it would be !!
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3240/2475323849_cdf3678d46.jpg?v=0

This sign was engraved on the tomb of a certain "Olive family", but Mistigree ignores what the letters/signs on it mean. The "P" could mean "PAX" maybe ?!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2080/2475323745_f452b473a0.jpg?v=0

Of course there are also tombs with crosses on them, and not only tombs that looks like little houses or little churches !
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2274/2476142468_0dc858a2c6.jpg?v=0

Here you can read "concession à perpétuité". That means that the plot where the grave stands was bought until perpetuity and can not be destroyed even if nobody cares of the tomb anylonger (or something like that !)
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2318/2475322737_2ab7935ab0.jpg?v=0

Let's shake our hands !! When we are dead, we are all alike and equal !!
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2225/2475325341_f2f1e434c3.jpg?v=0

I like very much the fonts of this sign, that tells that Jean-Marie-Philippe Montaubin died on January 10th 1884 at the age of 71, and now is resting here.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2067/2475323975_0a54c9ec9f.jpg?v=0

Sometimes, we can find pictures of the dead on the graves... One of Mistigree's friend who was with us this day in the cemetery was afraid of those old pictures !!!
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3223/2475326125_6db98030de.jpg?v=0

Here is a sergeant who lost his life at duty (in a plane I think).
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2082/2476144024_9c6ee21e90.jpg?v=0
