Hi Mum,

We saw the Olympic Torch today!

We had to go in early to make sure that we had a good spot to see it go by.  Luckily hostmum had bought a chair with her, so we good sit and relax.


There were quite a lot of police around.


I liked this van - it said it was my moment to shine.


And then... we saw the flame!


It was awesome seeing it!

Hi Mum,

Today we all took a trip to Derwent Resevoir.


The whole resevoir is just under 5km wide and there's about 7km of coastline around it.  It can hold up to 11 gallons of water and provides water for almost half of the North East of England.




We went exploring and came across this really pretty river that runs in to the resevoir.


It was a lovely day.

Hi Mum,

We've been in Essex this past week, visiting hostmum's Grandparents.  Unfortunately we haven't been able to go out and see things, as hostmum has had to help out her Grandparents (her Nana has just been released from hospital).  But that was absolutely fine - all the animals here have been keeping me entertained!

This beauty is Jessie, who is an old lady of 15.  She loves to cuddle.


And finally, this is Mr. Pickles, the tortoise.  He's such a character!

So as you can see, I have plenty to keep myself entertained with!

Hi Mum,

We arrived back in Hexham late on the weekend.  I'm not staying long though - I'm off on my next adventure!

First I wrote a 'thank you' card for my next host.


Then it was time to say goodbye to everyone.  Here I am saying bye to Sheela.


Next was Flummi.


Then I said bye to HelgaHH.


Next was Niiskuneiti.


Followed by Lizzy Lizard.


Then I said my goodbyes to Paula Hip.


And finally, I said bye to _Mishuta_, who is also leaving today.


I have made so many new friends here, and I was sad to say bye to them all.  But I'm really excited about continuing my travels and meeting my new host!

I better get going - the sooner I leave, the sooner I arrive!

After I fantastic time in England, I finally arrived in Switzerland.

I was very happy to get out of this narrow parcel.








I'm curious which experiences I can make here in Switzerland. Lets the adventure start!

I visited my host parents. They live near the river called "Engelberger Aa". I enjoyed to jump on the stones like a frog!









Unfortunately, they have still not repaired the bridge. The bridge was demolished by the flood in the year 2005.



I need a little break now!



My hostfamilys parent's live next to a power station. It produces electricity by using water.

We're leaving Switzerland today, because we go to Europapark in Rust (Germany).



We're still in Switzerland, but you can see the customs in front.







Finally, we are in Germany now!

Let's the adventure "Europapark" starts. We slept in the new opened hotel "Bell Rock". I really slept well!

Nice boat trip.

We celebrate Swiss National day on 01.08.



We enjoyed the 01.08. with friends by a wonderful BBQ.








In the evening, people installed fire swiss signs on the mountains. Wonderful!

And in was a fantastic full moon night!

We went to Melchsee-Frutt today. Melchsee-Frutt is a mountain resort village in Switzerland. The village is located near the lake Melchsee, in the municipality of Kerns, canton Obwalden. It has an elevation of 1920 meters. The main attractions of this resort are skiing, snowboarding, hiking, biking and rock climbing. It can be reached by use of a gondola lift.








They make a new funicular. It will be open in December 2012.

We went to Trübsee today. Trübsee is a mountain lake but also the name of a nice place in Switzerland, at the foot of the Titlis. Trübsee is above Engelberg, reacheable from this town by cable car or after rather long walking uphill.

Trübsee can be reached by gondolas.

There's a wonderful way around the Trübsee. It's called Knorrli-Way. I learned many about food.

We made a boot trip today. The Lake Lucerne is fantastic! It was nice, because the weather was perfect!

We went to a book vernissage today. It was a very special one, because it was Globis Birthday. He could celebrate his 80. birthday today. Globi is a famous Swiss children book figur. He's very funny. The book vernissage was at Brunni. Brunni is a place above Engelberg.

Hi, I like to show you the wonderful city of Lucerne. It's really a very beautiful city. ...let's have a look:

That's a very new building. It's the new University of Lucerne. It opend last year.

The world famous Chapel Bridge (Kappelbrücke). The Chapel Bridge is a covered wooden footbridge spanning diagonally across the Reuss River. As part of the bridge complex, the Chapel Bridge includes the octagonal 43 m tall Wasserturm, which literally translates to "water tower". The Kapellbrücke almost burned down on August 18, 1993, destroying two thirds of its interior paintings. Shortly thereafter, the Kapellbrücke was reconstructed and again opened to the public on April 14, 1994 for a total of $2.1 million dollars










A very nice painted house. It's the Fritschi-House or also the "Swiss House of carnival". It tells not only Fritschi's history, it also reflects the Lucerne Carnival.
