Dougherty, Texas, USA - 21st November 2007

By: Silverwings

When we looked inside the room, we found that it was decorated like it belonged in Aincent Egypt.

There were columns painted on the walls, along with a giant mural of a cat!

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2227/2058945293_310e90a82a.jpg?v=1195911975

The rug had heiroglyphics and pictures on it. (this one is of an aincent boat)

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2411/2058945935_2ba3c3a09b.jpg?v=0

My favourite of the rug-pictures was this one with a scene of Aincent Egyptian royalty! (I belong in this picture, don't you think? :D)

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2204/2058946545_c7bac1c25a.jpg?v=0

Then Roo and I climbed up on a big piece of furniture to see what was up there.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2299/2058947343_425467c3ce.jpg?v=1195912655

We found a small statue of a bird and a papyrus painting. (Silverwings says that the bird's name is Horus, by the way. Oh, and that the picture is from the aincent Egyptian "book of the dead".)

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2296/2059731518_e3434a7203.jpg?v=0

There were other statues there too. I posed for a picture with this bird-lady.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2081/2059732188_975fd03e8c.jpg?v=1195912603

When we came down, Roo and I had a bit of a scare. Remember the cat mural? Well, it turns out that that wasn't the only cat in the room.

Fortunatly, Silverwings appeared to rescue us. She explained that we had been exploring her bedroom. (When she dissappeared for some trip back in July, her family redecorated it for her. The Aincent Egypt theme is because Silverwings actually likes that stuff and is wanting to be an archaeologist.)

Silverwings told us that the cat was a good friend of hers. His name is Leo, or "The Grand Ceaser Leo the Magnificent" if you want to be more formal.

Today, Silverwings let me (and my good friend Roo) join her while she was practicing her harp. (She's learning to play the celtic-style harp, and has to practice a lot!)

Roo and I got to try our paws at the harp. It's bigger than we are, so we had to work together to play it.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2388/2058948607_c49857a930.jpg?v=1195915377

Roo played the low strings, and I got to play the high ones.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2360/2059733740_d6b700ff6c.jpg?v=0

It sounded good when we played, but as I am already a musician I can tell that Silverwings really needs to tune the thing!

Harp sounds quite different from the music I normally listen to...or play, but it is a nice sound.

Amarillo (Texas), USA - 29th November 2007

By: Silverwings

This morning, Silverwings woke me up really, really early. She said that we were going somewhere, but wouldn't say where.

So Roo and I got to ride in the car with the whole family and see the sun rise through the rear window.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2275/2075996150_87c46d2c61.jpg?v=0

We had breakfast in Plainview. It was quite good, but as soon as we got our food, the car started again and kept going.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2038/2075208987_70dddf32e9.jpg?v=0

We drove and we drove and we drove until we arrived in Amarillo. Then Silverwings revealed her suprise: We were going to the Farm Show!

What is a farm show, you ask? Basicly, it's where a whole bunch of farmers get together and look at all of the new equipment and such that's avalible to them. (Or a comunity center full of giant machienes and farmers.)

We got to see a pair of tractors that are made to spray chemicals onto the feild.

This is the newer version:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2138/2075209199_e1a8b8c237.jpg?v=0

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2053/2075996808_b2f1a37dbd.jpg?v=0

And this is the old, old one:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2310/2075997020_51b3fa6134.jpg?v=0

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2271/2075997230_f0c1584670.jpg?v=0

Everyone we met was happy to let us take pictures!

Later on, Roo and I got to learn about the "Ogallala Aquifer", where most of the water in west Texas comes from. There was a big display showing what it looks like:

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2250/2075210329_6c597f8382.jpg?v=0

It was very interesting to learn that the playa lake we explored a while back is actually a collection station for the aquifer.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2254/2075997518_acd00ce7c8.jpg?v=0

Unfortunatly, we didn't get to take any more pictures at the farm show, but it was really a lot of fun!

It's the day before Christmas!!! Today I helped Silverwings do the last of her present wrapping.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2386/2138663402_36a99dbda4.jpg?v=0

First I rolled out the sparkley wrapping paper...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2137/2137884805_f27e8a935d.jpg?v=0

(I mentioned to Silverwings how nice the paper would be as a set decoration for my next concert, and I think that she aggreed with me... it's hard to tell with her sometimes. :))

Then Silverwings set the present on the paper so we could wrap it.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2134/2138664538_227b11fe1d.jpg?v=0

I wasn't sure why she was wrapping a binder as a present, so I asked what was in it...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2246/2137886069_7bbdda6a8a.jpg?v=0

So she opened it up and explained that the binder was going ot be a christmas present for her father. He's a farmer, you see, and the binder is a part-index book for one of his tractors. (The combine... which is very, very old and breaks down a lot.)

Anyway, we wraped the binder up in the pretty silver paper. I helped by holding the tape. :)

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2295/2138665730_d36007123c.jpg?v=0

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2113/2137887225_05ef798d00.jpg?v=0

Then we put a sticker on saying who the present was to and from.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2254/2137888247_65da33d4ef.jpg?v=0

I think that I like wrapping presents!

IT'S CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Before I go into my normal travellog update, pictures, and such, I would like to say this:

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to everyone!

And now for my pictures!

Last night I stayed up late "staking out" the Christmas Tree to see if Santa would come.

I had the perfect hiding place too...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2299/2138667796_6c353f5d68.jpg?v=0

But I must have fallen asleep, sometime last night, because when I opened my eyes it was morning. Sigh. Better luck next year, I suppose.

I also got to meet a new friend. His name is mister moose. We took a picture together... He's a bit tall, don't you think?

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2228/2138668998_b91ef2b7ce.jpg?v=1198696890

What a wonderfull holiday! Merry Christmas again!!!

Floydada, Texas, United States of America - 6th January 2008

By: Silverwings

Hi again everyone! I'm having Silverwings post this for me, as I can't do it myself this time...

A few weeks ago, Silverwings informed me that I would be going on a grand adventure with some people from her church. It's a mission trip to Africa, and since one of the people who's going met me, I get to go along!!!

The lady who's acting as my temporary host has promised to e-mail pictures back for Silverwings to post as often as possible... but I'm not sure how often that will be, as I don't think internet access is that common where we're going... but I know it's going to be a lot of fun, and I'm curious as to what the people are like there.

The only thing I'm not sure of about this trip is the fact that we have to spend a long, long time on an airplane to get there.    :D

Dougherty, Texas, United States of America - 30th March 2008

By: Silverwings

A while back I learned that I was going to be moving on to my next host. So today Silverwings helped me to send a message to Mistigree informing her that I was going back into the postal system...

http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3114/2380685421_54c6e373f5.jpg?v=0

And then I got ready to leave...

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2346/2380685785_2c877d9c4a.jpg?v=0

and squeezed into my new "traveling compartment".

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2178/2380686243_b2501c64e3.jpg?v=0

I'm off on my next adventure!!!

Alkmaar, the Netherlands - 5th April 2008

By: Eryah

Hello!

Here i am again.

The other TV's who are with Eva now are very curious about who i am and what can be in the envelop.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn007.jpg

I want to fool them so i kicked my helmet out of the envelope
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn008.jpg

But they were frighten to death! I didn't mean to scare them that much so i jumped out of the envelope
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn009.jpg

This are from the left to the right Palmeke, Meleleuca and Snowy.
Look how Snowy is totally checking me out. I think she is in love with me...

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn010.jpg
I think i'm gonna make good friends here!

After that i wanna meet the others who live here. I started with the pets.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn001.jpg

This is Luna the black cat. She is scared of everyone. But give me a few minutes with her and i think she will like me. Time will tell.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn002.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn003.jpg

This fluffy cat is Isis. I heard from the others she almost sleeps every time. That sounds boring so maybe i can give a big party over here. I bet she dance all night.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn004.jpg
This 11 weeks old puppy called Dharma. He plays all the time and if you don't watch out he bites you. But for him that's playing. For me it means a lot of pain.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn005.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/iggykorn006.jpg

This are Mammoet the rabbit and Merlijn the guinea pig. Mammoet is a sweet guy who doesn't even know how to bite so you don't have to be scared about that.
Merlijn make funny sounds the whole day.

I think i'm gonna have a great time here and never have a dull moment!

Big hugs Iggy-Korn

Hello!

Today we went to 'Het Geestmerambacht'.
The recreation area Geestmerambacht, which lies at north of Alkmaar, offers all kinds of possibilities for recreation in natural surroundings.
There's a nature area and a big lake and many many more, but we want to see the lake.

Unfortunate it was to cold to swim in the lake otherwise i did it immediatelly!

Alkmaar, the Netherlands - 7th April 2008

By: Eryah

Hello!

A new TV arrived today.
This time the others were a little bit nervous because of my enter.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/lillebi001.jpg

But a sweet girl came out of the envelope so their fear wasn't  necessary at all.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/lillebi002.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/lillebi004.jpg
This is Lillebi
From the minute i saw her i couldn't get my eyes of her. She is beautifull and i mean really beautifull...

So i decided to follow my heart and kiss her. I have no idea if i frightened her but when our kiss stopped i saw her blushing cheecks. I think she loves me back. Let's hope so!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/lillebi003.jpg

We talked for a while and one of her goals i visit a (rock) concert. We have a lot in common.
I think we gonna have a great time togheter!

Bigs hugs Iggy-Korn

Alkmaar, the Netherlands - 9th April 2008

By: Eryah

Hello!

Today was the first sunny day we had in months here in the Netherlands so there's only one thing we really have to do: get a tan!

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/zon001.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/zon002.jpg

At the end of this week they predict rain again so this was our change. Hopefully tomorrow we can enjoy the sun again.

Because of their goodbye we ate a typical dutch snack: patat, kroketten and kaassoufle. It was delicious!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/afscheid012.jpg

Now i'm alone with Lillebi here...
