Istanbul, Turkey - 10th May 2010

Merhaba Anne! Hello Mommy!

Today I arrived safely at Jeanne's.
I wasn't tired at all and we made some pictures.
We had a little walk near Jeanne's home.

I should tell you thanks by Zeki Bey. He liked the Mentos a lot and ate all in once and even didn't share them with us.

Günter Dağlı and I chilled a little bit. The weather is really great! :D

Nearby Jeanne's home there is a small park. There you can find fitness tools. Actually, one can find them everywhere in Istanbul.
It's an free alternative to fitness studios.

And at the end some nice flower for my Mommy :D

I will write soon.
I hope you are fine!

Hello Mommy! :D
How are you doing?
I miss you much!
Today it was Jeanne's day off and we took a walk at the coast way and we took a lot of pictures. We are really tired. We walked for 4 hours and then we took the train to Eminönü and there we walked again to Kabatas. I saw a lot today but I am so sleepy now. The weather was great. For me it is already a little bit too hot. But tomorrow it should be worse.

Istanbul, Turkey - 16th May 2010

By: bruehwuerfelchen

Hello Mommy,

Just a quick note, to let you know that I am fine.
Jeanne caught a cold, so we didn't go out.
I use the time to discover the Turkish Wildlife on a map, which I have found at Jeanne's home. I got scared...
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1071/4611080045_c7fcbc6bba.jpg

I also tried to call you, but you didn't pick up. :(

I will try to write soon again.

Hello Mommy,
sorry for not writing for a while. Jeanne had been ill for some time and I had to care for her until she was better.
Meanwhile a new TV arrived. Ulrik from Norway. He is really nice but I worry a little bit, that he might get a sunburn too quick.
Yesterday we went to Küçükçekmece.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4058/4652531989_1411346222.jpg

Wolfsburg, Germany - 25th June 2010

By: bruehwuerfelchen

Hello Mommy,

Yesterday, we went to visit Wolfsburg.
Firstly, Jeanne showed us the VW car factory, with the old power station.
It's a class  listed  monument. But the chimneys are ramshackle  and need to be repaired.

You can also see the The Mittellandkanal again.

http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Cd9r9JzoApQ/TCSi_NJQ4eI/AAAAAAAADN0/wshuAnqDvCo/s512/P1000201.JPG

This is a part of the Autostadt, which is a  theme  park, all about cars.

http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Cd9r9JzoApQ/TCSi8Cw-EsI/AAAAAAAADN0/y99Jvuv8rwY/s512/P1000203.JPG

This picture shows a lot of rails and in the background Wolfsburg's train station. In the far end you can see the VW office building. At the left side you can see the Phaeno, which is a science centre. We wanted to take better pictures but there was also some constructing and a huge fence blocked our view.

http://lh6.ggpht.com/_Cd9r9JzoApQ/TCSi9hvTw5I/AAAAAAAADN0/eFBEeY1EKdw/s512/P1000202.JPG

This is Wolfsburg's town hall.
http://lh3.ggpht.com/_Cd9r9JzoApQ/TCSipwWn1NI/AAAAAAAADN0/cby0_EjtJUw/s512/P1000217.JPG

And here is a view from above.
You can see the Rathausplatz with some part of the pedestrian area. In the background you can see the VW office building again and the new power station.
http://lh5.ggpht.com/_Cd9r9JzoApQ/TCSiXZWfL4I/AAAAAAAADN0/DDJqcQiOgsM/s512/P1000228.JPG

I hope you like the pictures. We wanted to take more but we hadn't a lot of time but soon. I will add some pictures of Oebisfelde.

Have a nice time.

Claire.

Istanbul, Turkey - 14th July 2010

By: bruehwuerfelchen

Hello Mommy,

I am back to Istanbul.
I wanted to add some more pictures of Germany but it seems that the upload page is blocked in Turkey and Jeannine forgot the sd memory card in Germany, where we saved my photos on.
We will try to add the photos soon.

Meanwhile, I will go on to discover Turkey.
But I wonder when I will go on to travel to a other place.
Mommy, I also miss you too!

See you,

Yours,
Claire

Istanbul, Turkey - 21st July 2010

By: bruehwuerfelchen

Hello Mommy,

I am still in Istanbul.
I already said good bye to my fellow TV's.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4138/4814820288_af3e71f4de.jpg

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4079/4814198833_340f59d333.jpg

Jeanne gave me some supplies for my trip. Okay, Okay.. It is a present for my new host but maybe I will be able to taste just a little bit during my trip to Chile?. It's a Turkish candy made from honey, grapes and nuts.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4077/4814199671_c92f922b83.jpg

Since Chile is a great travel destination the others wanted to go there too..
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4074/4814822964_c06b01e449.jpg

But don't worry, I could chase them all off.
Just PinkyHH almost made it into the envelope.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4139/4814212865_cfc93dc9e9.jpg

But I kicked her away. After all, it is my turn to travel to Chile, isn't it?
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4141/4814279553_7291c8d627.jpg

But Mommy, I have bad news for you today. I couldn't start my trip today.
Because there was a new worker at the post office and she told us to go to an other post office.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4118/4814237043_0d437fb793.jpg

Jeanne is only able to go there tomorrow.
So, I will start my trip only tomorrow.

Have a nice time and see you soon.

Claire.

Temuco, Chile - 26th August 2010

By: Leslie

I arrived in Chile!!! Finallyyy!  :cyclops:
I was so tight in the envelope, i couldn't wait to come out!
Also, I just completed one of my life missions, because this is the 5th country I visit!  :cyclops:
These are some photos of my arrival

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4075/4931711029_33cd18cca4_z.jpg
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4114/4931709635_4aa1f4c9d9_z.jpg

I was just starting to look around when Regit Brown, the TV staying here as well, came to welcome me

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4095/4932298228_b580506e1a_z.jpg

We introduced ourselves, but he seemed a bit more interested in the sweet I brought, so I told him we could taste just a bit because it's for my new host, so he tore off the label and... mmm! YUMMY!  :p

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4114/4931708165_e9430a360b_z.jpg

The first thing that cought my attention was this big chilean flag. The white colour stands for the snow of the mountains, the blue and the star stand for the sky and the red colour stands for the aborigins' blood spread during the spanish conquest.

http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4081/4930126973_a9be6223b2_z.jpg

I'll have more photos pretty soon  ;)

This mural shows the enmity between the chilean aborigins (called Mapuches) and the goverment.

We saw this little Araucaria (the national tree) and a blooming tree, which means the spring is coming soon!

Near the university we found these mapuche totem and ruca! (the kind of house where mapuches used to live before the spanish conquest)

On our way back home we saw these mapuche people, they are on hunger strike for already 45 days, along with 40 or more mapuches in the city.
