As my sister Kalea (also a TV) has disappeared on their journey, I now try to conquer the world.
I hope I meet many nice people who help me!

This are my friends.

Good Morning!

And Goodbye...  :D

My departure was very nice!

The Post office, is also a small flower shop. The owner (a cheerful woman with a loud laugh) was very nice and she said goodbye to me.
I could also smell the flowers in her shop - it was incredible!

Hello Mum

I just arrived in Austria and already had the pleasure to meet Charly who is also staying with my new host; can you imagine - he is a fox!!! They both welcomed me in a very nice way (I arrived just in time for breakfast!).

My host told me that we will go to Vienna either today or on Wednesday. Furthermore we will fly to Paris to see my host's boyfriend - he promised to take us to Versailles - and go to some other cities in Austria. Unfortunately I missed the trip to Salzburg but Charly showed me some photos.

I will try to find some abloom flowers during the next days but it will be hard due to the fact that spring is still far away.

Hello Mum

Today the three of us (Charly, me and my host) went to Vienna and Baden.

We saw the most important monuments in Vienna (Stephansdom, Secession, Karlskirche, city hall, university, opera etc.); afterwards we had to run soooooo fast to catch the train to Baden. I have to admit the afternoon there was quite boring because we did not have to do anything except attending an English seminar...

As you might notice we took a picture of us infront of an interactive board; my host likes these boards, which can be found in underground stations, so much.

Baden is a city which is very close to Vienna and famous for good wine, a natural spa and the casino.

Yours

Dear Mum

You won't believe what happened today! We (Charley and I) joined my host's mother to the kindergarten cause she works there; we had a lot of fun with the children and my host's mum took beautiful photos. Then she left the children for 2 minutes unattended with the camera and they broke it. Now there aren't any photos left :(. My host will check if she can transfer the photos from the memory card but she doesn't hold out much hope...

Anyway we will make some new photos this weekend! Please don't be sad!

Dear mum

Today we went for a walk in Prinzersdorf. It's a small village close to St. Pölten.

The river you can see in the photos is called Pielach.

I am freezing so much but I think it is also very cold at home!

We went to Paris today. Due to bad weather conditions and the fact that my host knows the city already very well we only went for seeing the most important sights.

Hello mum!!

I made it to Chile! :cyclops:

I was sitting as every day of the past month inside my envelope, when I heard some noise and suddenly I had three faces staring directly at me! One of them with big scissors in hand, which I must admit wasn't a very good first impression, but then I realized they were to open my envelope, so it was ok :p

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_8226.jpg

I got out and they came to greet me nicely! :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_8228.jpg

I met Pato, my new TV host :D And the guys behind us are Ducky and Ping!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_8231.jpg

I gave Leslie the postcard I brought her and she loved it! :D

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_8219.jpg

Then I went to look out the window to see what kind of place I just arrived to! All I see is that we are at the very edge of the city and that there's a lot of smoke...
I still haven't explored around but one thing I can tell you, it is cold here!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_8233.jpg

Later Pato invited me for a cup of hot chocolate and we talked a lot, he's a very nice host! :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_8236.jpg

I hope I can go explore around soon! :D

Hugs from the most southern country in the world!

Hi mummy!

First of all I must apologize for the delay in my updates! We have been all very busy here helping Leslie with her studies... exams are really hard, I can tell by her face! :stare:

I visited the most important hill in Temuco, Ñielol hill.
By the way, I like the way the "Ñ" letter sounds, it's somewhat between N and I

Some people say that Ñielol hill is an extinct volcano :o I hope it isn't, because I would not like to see it in action since it's right next to the city! :o

We went up (by car - we were feeling a little lazy) to the main viewpoint from where we could see a big part of the city!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_8420.jpg

This is Temuco to the south :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_8426.jpg

Then we moved to another part of the hill to see these famous Mapuche totems! :D

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_8435.jpg

They are called Chemamulls, which in Mapudungún (Mapuche language) means "wooden people", and they are 4 meters tall!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_8437.jpg

This tree behind us is the ''Patagüa'', the tree under which, spanish and mapuches (the local aborigins) signed a peace treaty in 1881, after 300 years of war. :stare:
It's a very old an important tree!
I wish it could talk and tell me its stories!! :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_8438.jpg

I wonder how is summer now at home... here it's winter and all trees have lost their leaves, but it looks beautiful against the blue sky, doesn't it? :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_8447.jpg

When sunset time came, we went to a lower view point to enjoy the beautiful orange colours in the sky

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_8463.jpg

Aahhh... beautiful :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_8462.jpg

Hope to write again soon, and I'm sorry for leaving you with no news for so long...
Weather is slowly getting nicer here, so we are going to be able to go out more and take photos :)

Love!
Bye bye
Leslie

¡Hola mamá! ¿Cómo estás?

Spring is almost here and you can already feel it in the air ;)

The days are getting slowly nicer and today finally Chile changed to Daylight Saving Time! :D That means one more hour of daylight everyday, woohoo!

But the photos you're going to see now are from a not so nice day strictly talking about the weather of course, because it was nice for me anyway! ;)

One weekend we traveled to stay at my hosts' summerhouse by the sea in the small fishing village of Queule :)
This is the view from the deck... I must say on a sunny day it looks a lot better, but this is still nice, isn't it?

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3244.jpg

I can tell my hosts like plants a lot! :D They're almost devouring the deck! :p

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3246.jpg

And in the garden I saw this native tree called Palmilla, nice nice.

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3247.jpg

After lunch we started walking to the beach, so first we had to go down to the town...

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3253.jpg

I saw many old fishing boats and nets by the water :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3256.jpg

And this is the main dock of the town.

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3257.jpg

Even though the day was very cloudy I think the landscape looked still very nice :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3274.jpg

To get to the beach you have to walk for about 30 minutes through a path on a hill...

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3289.jpg

There you can see the river mouth of Queule river...

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3290.jpg

Leslie told me that this little dock and many others were completely destroyed by the 2010 tsunami :o

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3294.jpg

And finally after doing some great leg exercise through the hill, we arrived at Ronca beach!
It's called Ronca because that means "snore" in spanish, and the waves here do make a loud noise! :stare:

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3297.jpg

We crossed a small forest before reaching the sand...

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3301.jpg

And here we are! :D Maybe it wasn't the sunny beach day that one could expect, but it was still very nice!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3302.jpg

And here's me keeping track on the sand ;)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_3320.jpg

Nos vemos!
Saludos!

Hi my dear mum!

After almost three months since the last time I wrote, we are finally free here. Leslie is finally done with her exams and we are all happy that the books are gone from the desk and the tables and couch and everywhere! :D
All this time we've been peretty much all the time bored sitting and waiting for something exciting to happen, but it didn't until now...

So now im going to show you a nice trip that we made to a city five hours south called Puerto Montt :)
By the way, maybe you'll notice why Puerto Montt is known for having a permanent grey sky...

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9217-1.jpg

Look at that poor skinny horse with a tumbril

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9226.jpg

We walked around the city until we found the main church of Puerto Montt, can you guess what the dome is made of? it's made out of copper because Chile is the biggest copper exporter in the world

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9230.jpg

And this is the main square of the city

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9233.jpg

After a while walking we sat down to rest in these seats with nice designs on our backs :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9236.jpg

These are Chilco flowers, i've seen some in Leslie's garden :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9237.jpg

Then after resting we walked for a while through the shore

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9240.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9249.jpg

This couple is very famous, they're called "sentados frente al mar" (seated by the sea). There is a song called Puerto Montt and it tells the story of these two lovers  you can listen to it here

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Blinchick/IMG_9251.jpg

In the afternoon we did the church trail, a road full of typical churches through the slope of the hills next to the water, very beautiful!

So first we started getting away from the city to the east

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9257.jpg

And this is the first church we saw. I learned that all the churches around here are built with tiles :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9255.jpg

This one has a few tiles below the roof, can you see them?

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9263.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9269.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9272.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9277.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9281.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9290.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9304.jpg

We passed through a small town :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9314.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9311.jpg

In this area there are many many creeks and waterfalls coming from the mountain range to the sea, and we stopped at one :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9339.jpg

Aahhh the beautiful sound of the water

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9361.jpg

And this is the last church of the trail, it was in a very small village

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9395.jpg

so we stopped there to eat some yummy empanadas, the chilean national food :p
very yummy by the way!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_9419.jpg

I hope you liked the churches mum as much as I did! :D
Many kisses from the warm spring!

Our second day in Puerto Montt started with a bright warm sun over out heads, temperature quite nice and the breeze too... we had to go out to explore as soon as possible, so we got on the car and drove west to a small town called Maullín :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9444.jpg

But in Maullín there was nothing to see exept the main church, so we kept on driving south....

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9508.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9514.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9524.jpg

...Until we reached the next town, Carelmapu :)

Our good tourit guide Pato taught us that the word Carelmapu is in Mapudungún language, the language of the Mapuche people, the aborigins of this area, and it means Green Land... which I could see with my own eyes, it's very green around here! :)

We went to see the oldest church in the town, the Church of Candelaria.

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9538.jpg

It was built in 1860 and is now a National Monument

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9551.jpg

It got damaged in the big 8,8 Earthquake in 2010, so it's being repared, that's why we couldn't go peep upstairs, the ground could habe broken uder our feet! :o

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9561.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9581.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9574.jpg

And then we went to see the sunset at Mar Brava beach :)
Back there you can see an island, that is Chiloé island, the first of all the islands of the south of Chile, you can see that in my map

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9607.jpg

It was a very nice day!
I hope you're having fun at home mum!

Kisses,

Ulani

Our third day here in the south started cloudy as usual, but that didn't stop us ;)

If you take a look at my map you can see that the area around Puerto Montt is surrounded by lakes, so today we decided to drive around them :D

So first we drove to a town called Llanquihue and we saw the main church

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9622.jpg

As we walked around Pato was a good tourist guide and told us about this place, he said that many many years ago german settlers came to this area around the lakes :D I think I wouldn't mind moving here either... the landscapes are so beautiful!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9634.jpg

But we didn't stay in Llanquihue, but kept on driving through the road next to the lake

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9642.jpg

We found a cemetery and walked around it and the graves were all german, it felt somehow like home!
And now I seemed like the tourist guide teaching everyone what ruht in frieden means :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9646.jpg

The cemetery had a lovely view

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9667.jpg

And beautiful flowers!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9654.jpg

Then we kept driving north... on the way there was a garden of giant tulips :D how beautiful!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9722.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9729.jpg

And this was our destination, the city of Frutillar which was founded by german settlers, so it looked like a little germany :D german architecture, signs, people and whatnot, very nice!
Here I'm outside the theater which is very famous, it's called Teatro del Lago "theater of the lake", very appropiate name, don't you think so? :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9797.jpg

Frutillar is a famous holiday spot for tourists, people from all over the world come to this beach in summer  (and not only people but also toyvoyagers) ;)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9835.jpg

And we found a church so went inside to peep ;) luckily there was no one inside so we didn't have to stay as silent or quiet ;)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_9863.jpg

And this was our last day in Puerto Montt...
I hope you liked our trip :D At least I loved it!

Hugs!

Hola desde Chile! :D

Summer is almost here so we decided to spend the weekend in the summerhouse near the beach, although the forecast said it wasn't going to be a very summerlike weekend...

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1135_zpsfa8402dc.jpg

On the way there I could see some great views of the pacific shores  ;)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1140_zpsa62a63fb.jpg

Once we got in the summerhouse we couldn't go to the beach, so we stayed in the garden, and since it's the end of spring all the flowers are in their best time!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1236_zpse9e99e55.jpg

This nice little plant is called Murtilla, it's endemic to southern Chile and very yummy :p I heard some good drinks can be made out of it!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1240_zpsf2a8ba32.jpg

This plant I'm standing on is a Chilco, also endemic to southern South America

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1260_zpsfbc656ae.jpg

...and from what I saw I can tell it's one of the bees' favourite meal!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1244_zpsd34f320f.jpg

...We spent the rest of the day wandering around the garden because the weather didn't allow us to go to the beach

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1325_zpsfaac0a6d.jpg

So I had fun watching the life in the garden from closely :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1297_zps0531ca70.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1302_zpsf1ed8c5d.jpg

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1301_zps84c0fc9b.jpg

The sun only came out for a while and then it all got cloudy again...

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1364_zpsd0a2b318.jpg

Now I'm back in Temuco writing and surfing the internet!

Hugs!

This was a great day!
We went to explore the center of Temuco city... and what's the first thing I see? A llama in front of me! :D wow!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1039_zpsfe6d58d6.jpg

I'm not sure who was surprised the most... me to see a llama in the middle of the street or her to see a small sized purple sheep... I think we were both wondering whether we'd gone crazy :stare: at least I was.

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1042_zpsa55605b7.jpg

After the brief encounter with the llama we moved on and kept exploring around and I found myself in one of the main squares of Temuco, called Plaza de Armas

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1059_zps88aac5ab.jpg

This monument in the middle of the square shows Mapuches and spanish conquerors.

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1052_zps7a948415.jpg

There was a man playing the guitar... yeah... I like this place B)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1055_zps36e5c1ec.jpg

Then we headed to the crafts market to see some Mapuche handicrafts :D

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1060_zps210fdb11.jpg

These drums are called Kultrún and are played in mapuche rituals and ceremonies. I wonder what could happen if I play one, maybe I could make it rain :stare:

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1064_zps3322a671.jpg

These trumpet-shaped horns are Trutrucas

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1067_zpsbc54287f.jpg

This giant guy is an Indio Pícaro, a wooden figure of a mapuche man... I really hope they don't look like this in person! :stare:

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1072_zps8f8ea23a.jpg

Then we went into a store and I saw mapuche jewelry made of silver, the big ones are called Trapelakucha and mark status among mapuche women :stare:

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1076_zps863644ed.jpg

And these are mapuche knittings, nice designs!

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1085_zps294a96ed.jpg

So after all I learned I can now say that this woman in the picture is playing Kultrún while wearing a Trapelakucha :D

Summer so far doesn't really look like it, the sky has been mostly grey and there have been some rainy days

Today we made a trip to the mountain range near the argentinian border

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/Ulani/IMG_1391_zpsc30feba8.jpg

As we got closer some nice wild flowers appeared by the road, I think I match really well between them  ;)

Hi mum,

I want to show you my last photos of Chile, of a place called Caburgua, take a look :)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_1705_zps85f83cb8.jpg

These two waterfalls are called "Eyes of Caburgua" because someone thought that they look like eyes... hmm, it must have been someone with a lot of imagination

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_1715_zps142150de.jpg

This lagoon is called, surprinsingly, Blue Lagoon :D
It had a very intense blue color and looked so calm and pretty that we were all dying to go swim in there, but sadly it is forbidden.
There are some legends about this lagoon being hipnotic and I believe they might be true  ;)

http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b445/Resurie/IMG_1731_zps692822de.jpg

And these last photos are from another small trip around the shore somewhat near the city on a nice sunny day

Hello Mom...

Here iam, enjoying Jukung.
Jukung is the small wooden double outrigger boat (well really a canoe) that you'll see pulled up on just about every beach in Indonesia.

Primarily used for fishing, the traditional jukungs use a lanteen sail (a triangle-shaped sail), though today most also have a small engine to keep them going through the doldrums.

In Sanur, while some are still used for fishing, many are now used for pleasure sailing and can be hired for an hour of sailing up and down the beach during high tide. It might sound a bit twee, but it is actually a really pleasant way to lose an hour or so. The boats can comfortably seat two or three adults (plus the boatman) and can be hired mainly towards the northern end of Sanur beach.

Hello Mom
Iam with Balinese Offerings.
Offerings are called banten in Balinese. It is possible that the word comes from the Sanskrit word bali, which means tribute, obligation or gift. Or it may be derived from the word enten, which means to wake up or be conscious. It is a consciousness of the gods.
One of Offerings called "Gebokan"  consist of fruits, money, food and flowers ·

Dear Mom

We spending a lot of time in Grandpaw n Grandmaw home in East Java after the hostmom exam completed.
We play in the rice field behind Grandpaw home.  In Indonesia , rice is major source of food for the majority of the population. It is a plant that requires plenty of water and heat. In Java, Bali, and other islands in Indonesia the rains are so plentiful that it is possible to grow three or four rice crops a year. Rice fields are surrounded by low walls to maintain the water at a time when fields are flooded. In mountain areas, the paddy fields form terraces where water flowing from the top successively fills each of them. Planting, harvesting and threshing rice is a slow process done by hand.

Coming home from college, we stopped at the nearest beach, the Jimbaran beach, to enjoy the beautiful sunset.

Today we made Linda's favorite food, Rujak Manis (Javanese-style fruit salad, with spicy sugar sauce). Its made from  Bengkoang (Pachyrhizus erosus ), young Mango, Salak ((Salacca zalacca ), fried tofu and crackers. For the sauce, the main ingredient is Javanese sugar, sea salt and chilies. Yummy ^^

We drove to Henan to travel,PAPA said,Henan  is a province of the People's Republic of China, located in the central part of the country. Its one-character abbreviation is yu, named after Yuzhou Province , a Han Dynasty province (zhou) that included parts of Henan. The name Henan means "south of the Yellow River"

Today we went to the yuntai mountain.
The Yuntai is located the Henan Province Xiuwu County by the northern12 kilometers place, the prominent peak is the fruit of a medicinalcornel peak, the elevation 1,304 meters, because of suddenly, looks like a cauldron, covers above the group peak,is called inthe ancient times "covers Pusan" and further because to stand tall anderect for its ,the forest cover, the ravine common fog windsaround, therefore is called "the Yuntai"

Here the air is very good,I feel very interesting :D

We are still in the Henan travel,The photo is our in guoliang village.
The Village under the mountain is located in a thousand yards rise steeply cliff dangerous terrain, the vast, beautiful scenery, known to the world as Qijue the waterscape and steep valleys "wall highway", also known as the "Pearl of taihang".

The Guabi Road  In China, there is a special road located in Taihang Mountain. This kind of road is called Guabi road, which means road hanging on the cliff in Chinese. Unlike spiral mountain roads or tunnels, Guabi road is constructed along a cliff rather than on a slope or deeply inside the mountain. It usually lies horizontally along a vertical cliff face with hard sandstone on one side of the road and deep valley on the other side.

Mum,I was afraid, I dare not to look under the mountain :stare:But we are safe B).This is really amazing!

HI~~

It's springtime in Beijing,The weather was fine and warm.We go boating in Beihai park today.

Beihai Park located in central Beijing, is one of the oldest and most authentically perserved imperial gardens in China. It has a history of 1000 years.

Beihai has existed throughout the Liao, Jin, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.

The park occupies an area of 69 hectares including a 39-hectare lake. In the garden, pavilions and towers nestle amid the beautiful scenery of lakes and hills, grass and trees. Carrying on the traditions of garden landscaping of ancient China Beihai is a gem of garden art.

We sat in the duck boat,it's so cute,This is a pedal boat, like riding a bike, but I am very tired,I like see the scenery on board.TheWhite Pagoda  is a landmark building in Beihai Park.

We went to the old Beijing flavor Grand Canal Terminals -Shi Sha hai in the evening.
In the daytime there is a old China Street, This area is a lot of what is left of the traditional style hutong's in Beijing. But in the evening, there a bar street. Many small bars line the winding streets overlooking the canals that run through the area.

We dined on  Beijing hot pot(Beijing copper pot ShabuShabu). This is the most authentic Beijing Hot pot.Every day there's a line.Beijing people like to eat mutton slices cooked in hot pot,I'd like to eat vegetables :D So good! So yummy, yummy, yummy!

It is a pretty sight. To enjoy the music , with blowing wind , walking hand in hand with beikaozhaobei enjoy this romantic.

HI ~~I'm coming

Today we went to The Old City God's Temple.

Old City God's Temple (Laochenghuangmiao)is a major yet relatively inactive, Taoist temple in Shanghai.

That area is now a highrise residence building. The "former" temple is known as the Old City God's Temple. The Old City God's Temple and the enclose Yuyuan are not only famous tourist sites but also popular shopping attractions. There are boutiques, shops selling local specialties, as well as large jewelry stores, department stores and fabulous local snack restaurants to be found here.

There are too many people here,This street is very buzzes,We also eat a lot of good food,But no time to take pictures I was tired.I'm going back to the hotel to sleep. :p

HI~
Today we went to the Shanghai Museum of natural history.

This is a new museum,so We're curious.
Its unique architectural form of a round top with a square base, symbolizing the ancient Chinese philosophy that the square earth is under the round sky, is a distinguished architectural combination of traditional feature and modern spirit.

The museum there are a lot of interesting

Today we leave Shanghai to Xitang.
It takes about 90 minutes to drive down to Xitang from Shanghai; from a 21st-century megalopolis to an altogether dreamier slice of history.

To call this lovely water-village an oriental Venice would be wildly over the mark, yet it shares similarities with its more famous Italian counterpart.Canals dissect twisting narrow lanes and pathways, rendering the community traffic-free and boat friendly.  Worn stone steps lead down to the waters and hopelessly pretty bridges span them.

Even though the place is small, it's chock-full with museums, temples and places of historic and cultural interest.

Night we live in the town,Here during the day and night is not the same.
In the morning, water flows beneath bridges, thin mist is like silk, pinkish walls on both banks stand tall and erect and tiled houses are reflected inversely in the water. In the evening, the setting sun shines slantwise, songs come from fishing boats, lamps flicker and the fragrance of wine drifts. The whole old town is like a poem and a picture. In this town, people will feel that they are seemingly in an earthly paradise.

Even though Xitang is small, it's something of a centre for the arts. In summer, traditional folk operas, concerts and a local cinema play by the waterside in the open-air. And all year-round, young artists from the cities come to paint the alleyways and canals.

It is an exquisitely beautiful spot.

HI~mum

We leaved Xitang to Wuzhen. We  arrived WUzhen one hour by car.Wuzhen is also a old town,There are like with Xitang, but not the same.

Situated in the north of Zhejiang Province, the beautiful water town of Wuzhen is one of those ancient towns. It is a charming place full of ancient bridges, traditional hotels, boutiques and restaurants all built around an amazing water network that is part of the Beijing-Hangzhou Canal, the longest canal in the world.Over the past thousand years, Wuzhen has not changed its name, water system, or way of life. It is a living museum for an ancient civilization's history, food, and traditions. The buildings of Wuzhen are all a century or more old and built using traditional wood and stone architecture with tile roofs. For centuries the local people of this area have been building their homes and markets along the river's edge. Spacious, beautiful courtyards are hidden by the thousands in between the buildings, providing a delightful discovery at almost every turn.

In this ancient town there is plenty to do, or nothing at all if your aim is to relax. The place is quiet, yet also offers wine bars, pottery and glass workshops, theaters, and an open-air film pavilion.Take in the delightful town from the water on a traditional wood boat, and stay in one of the many luxurious hotels or guest accommodations in residents' homes for a true taste of Chinese village life. :cyclops:

Today we are still in Wuzhen.Wuzhen is fall into two towns, east town and wes town. One of them is a new town, one is the old town.Today we went to the old town,East town.

Here to keep the ancient town of the original appearance.

The wine brewing industry is prosperous in Wuzhen. In the Ming Dynasty, there were over 20 brewing workshops in Wuzhen, and the three most famous ones were Gaogongsheng, Shunxing and Yong Sheng Workshops.

The Woodcarving Museum, formerly the residence of local rich people Xu Family, also named Hundred Flower Hall, is well-known for its exquisite wood carvings. It’s carved beams and painted rafters, especially the human figures, birds and four-feet animals on the doors and windows by various carving skills.

Here the  road is very narrow,I think it is very interesting.Next we are going to Hangzhou. B) B)

Mum~

We came to Hangzhou. :cyclops:
Hangzhou is one of the most famous tourist cities in China, not only famous for its natural beauty, but also famous for its history.
.Legend has it that the lake used to be an aus'picious pearl hewn into its sparkling shape by the Jade Dragon and the Golden Phoenix ,but it was later stolen by the Mother Queen of the West. When Jade Dragon and Golden Phoenix scrambled with the Mother Queen, this pearl acci'dentally fell onto a land that was known as Hangzhou.

It means just as there is paradise in heaven, there are Suzhou and Hangzhou on earth.  Lying on the west edge of Hangzhou city, West Lake is the symbol of Hangzhou as well as one of the most beautiful sights in China.  West Lake has all along been praised as a sparkling pearl.the whole lake is divided into 5 sections, namely the Outer Lake, North Inner Lake, West Inner lake, Yue Lake and Little South Lake, by Gu hill, Sudi Causeway, Baiti Causeway and Ruangong Mound.
And  the beauty of the  West Lake lies in its lingering  charm  that survives the change of seasons in a year and of hours in a day. Among its beautiful sights, the most famous sites are the Ten Sights in West Lake .

We  board and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The placid lake reflected the image of the trees. The breeze is on my face and body.I feel so good.

We also went to the  Lingyin Temple. It's sacred  and quiet .

This is a nice place. :D

Today is the last day of 2015.

We wnet to thr Puka Beach
Puka beach second major Boracay beach, it is the pride of Boracay.
Puka beach shells are very famous in the 1970s and 1980s, Puka Shell was chosen for high-quality raw materials, used to make jewelry, rage, by people's favorite. Therefore, but a lot of people in Puka beach collect shells can now see the remains of the time left.

A famous singer LiangJingRu in China is holding a wedding at here.

We spent the whole morning collecting seashells on the beach. We found many beautiful shells on the shore.

The New Year's bell will soon toll to usher in the year2015.
This year I went to many cities in many countries for travel, I have met many old friends and got to know a lot of new friends, so I felt very happy! For some reason, I didn't update in time. But I've photographed a lot and there are more photos that I have not processed. But when I look at them, it brings back many memories. I will be in the days to update and share with us.

I made a wish for the new year: Next year we can go to more places to travel and May my family and my friends live in peace and harmony throughout the new year.

Wish everyone a happy new year!

We're going to the white sand beach in the sun today.
White Beach, Boracay's biggest tourist attraction, stretches some four kilometers on the western side of the island, mostly within the barangay of Balabag. It is largely because of the pristine, white powdery sand of White Beach and the crystal-clear blue water of the surrounding sea that Boracay is often called "the world's most beautiful tropical island."

The northern end of the beach is "lorded over" by Fridays, the southern end by Lorenzo South. In between you will find all kinds of accommodation, from native bamboo-and-nipa bungalows to Western-style concrete buildings.

The most famous view of Boracay is the sunset. We sat on a sailing boat to see the sunset.
But I can't take a picture. The sailing is too exciting. I was wet all over. We'll play on this again tomorrow.

We're still at the beach today.
I really like the sea. Seeing it makes me relaxed and peaceful. My home is near the sea and I love walking on the beach. After sunset, the sea becomes so different from daytime. The sea breeze makes me comfortable. Walking without shoes feels great, because the sand is so soft. Sometimes, we will play games on the beach or make some sand sculptures. It's really funny.

Today we went to the Olympic Park.

Due to the stadium's outward appearance, it was nicknamed "The Bird's Nest".
It looks like a bird's nest woven with branches. It contains a bowl-shaped stadium which is red. The whole building is related through the giant reticular structure, without one column in the interior.
It has been a landmark and a longstanding symbol of the Olympics. During the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the opening ceremony, closing ceremony, track and field meets, and men's football final will be held here.

It is the world's largest steel structure and the most complex stadium ever constructed. Its design had to be inspiring and be able to withstand an earthquake.
After the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, the stadium will become a sports and entertainment facility for the residents of Beijing.

The Beijing National Aquatics Center, also officially known as the National Aquatics Center, and colloquially known as the Water Cube,is an aquatics center that was built alongside Beijing National Stadium in the Olympic Green for the swimming competitions of the 2008 Summer Olympics

Despite its nickname, the building is not an actual cube, but a cuboid (a rectangular box). is a shape very similar to the structure of "H2O",

In the evening it will make a colorful light, Much better than the day. PAPA said she had the chance to bring us here again at night.

We wen to the Jingshan Park, an former imperial garden!

The mount was named the Hill of 10,000 Years and became an imperial garden to the north of the imperial Palace.

The name of "Jingshan" was given in 1655 during the Qing Dynasty. In 1751 five pavilions were built on the hill in a straight line. Wanchun Pavilion in the middle is on the central axis of the old Beijing city. So This is the center of Beijing. We From there one has a grand view of the former Imperial Palace.

We passed the the Imperial Palace. This is one of the most famous scenic spots in Beijing.
The tourist bus is very lovely. We took a video on it.
PAPA was thinking about putting the video about us on website, Such as YouTube. And I'm looking forward to seeing myself.

Hi Mum,

I’m in Canada :D! Today eventually someone picked up my traveling quarters and dropped them in what seemed to be the middle of a lot of action :stare:.

As I came out, I met sammino, who will be my host here, and a lot of other TVs welcoming me in Calgary :). They were even more cheerful when I flashed the presents that my last host gave me ;). Of course we spent a very long evening muching on those sweets and talking about our travels ;).

Hi Mum,

Today we tried to go to a trail where we the others were blinded by the fog a few weeks ago , and right from the parking lot we had a feeling that it was going to be a much better day for taking photos :).

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Ulani/DSCN1679_zps1xtjubg6.jpg

And it was definitely the case. The wind was pretty much gale force and freezing cold , but the view was great :D.

Hi Mum,

Today smaug decided to take us to a lovely trip to the mountains :). What was less lovely is that, to avoid afternoon thunderstorms, he made us start at a very ungodly hour . Nevertheless, after a bit we started having a nice view.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Ulani/DSCN1735_zpsbpsmxtqn.jpg

For the first part of the morning we aimed for that lovely grassy col :)

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Ulani/DSCN1753_zpsojqomp9b.jpg

…and soon we were in the middle of a fairly lunar landscape :o.

Our destination looked deceiviously close…

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Ulani/DSCN1795_zpsqxlypjaz.jpg

…but it was quite some time before smaug eventually carried us to the top, where the view was spectacular :D.

Hi Mum,

After a long time, today smaug had again some time for us and took us a for a short hike near Banff :). It was sometime before we shortly came out of the trees and had a nice view of Lake Minnewanka.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Ulani/DSCN1932_zpsiimf2oha.jpg

This used to be a mining area and it is still full of hidden holes. To prevent distracted toyvoyagers from wondering into one of the deepest ones ,there are plenty of chainlink fences around.

So far our holiday has been very quiet ;), but at least today we were joined by Krystal and Sigfrido who will be spending Christmas with us :).

Hi Mum,

Happy New Year :D!

We arrived back in Calgary last night and found a typical Canadian weather ;). Probably a good day to stay nice and warm at home :).

Hi Mum,

This morning, despite the cold , we went for a short hike :). Actually smaug was in early-morning mode :stare:, so we reached the trailhead and started going when it was still way too dark to try snatching any photo. Luckily, by the time we reached the top, there was at least a reddish glimmer of light that allowed us to appreciate what a nice morning it was :D.

Hi Mum!

It’s been a bit boring around here recently . Nevertheless, even if the weather was not really good, today smaug took us for a short trip to the mountains :). It’s full winter and it is usually freezing cold, but sometimes it warms up really quickly and the snow disappear as it looked to be the case on the prairies :stare:.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Ulani/DSCN2024_zpsdct1xrv5.jpg

Still Barrier Lake was still frozen solid.

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Ulani/DSCN2025_zpsq2zfni7k.jpg

As we moved up along the trail the sky was getting darker and darker,…

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Ulani/DSCN2028_zpsz3qozopg.jpg

…so we found a nice sheltered spot where we could relax and top up the sugars ;) before slowly walk back to the car.

Hi Mum,

After quite a long time, today smaug took us to the mountains again for a short hike :).

http://i607.photobucket.com/albums/tt157/smaug_tv/Ulani/DSCN2035_zpsb4i9wfgw.jpg

Interesting enough, it looked like the snow was almost gone, other than from the highest peaks :stare:.

We almost started wondering if summer was going to come early this year ;).

Today we noticed that last night we had a fresh dump of snow ,…

…but luckily there was no reason to go outside since we had plenty of chocolate eggs that we could feast upon to celebrate Easter :p.

Hi Mum,

Today we went for a short hike near Calgary :). As usual we spent some time under the trees, but eventually the view started to open up :)

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4366/36700761075_9540ff9ace_b.jpg

…and we got the first glimpse of our destination.

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4364/36531466872_e0edcfccc8_b.jpg

Much later, the view improved…

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4442/35865761534_8713f2a0c2_b.jpg

…and it improved even more from the summit :).

Still those clouds were promising rain, so we didn’t linger and quickly started moving back down the mountain ;).

Hi Mum,

Today we went for another nice trip into the mountains. As usual the approach was tree-covered, but once we reached the crest of Mist Ridge the view was great :D. We had mountains to the south…

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4437/36700903605_4f46dbe7cf_b.jpg

…Mist Mountain to the west…

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4418/36562661391_10cf0b17b1_b.jpg

…more mountains to the east…

…and the Sheep River valley with even more mountains to the north.

We were surrounded by mountains ;).

Hi Mum,

Today we went again up to the mountains :). Early in the morning we walked along Mosquito Creek, which was quite true to its name, so smaug decided to speed trough as fast as possible without stopping for taking photos and somehow we limited the number of bites we got . Later on, we got out of the trees and the wind sent the mosquitoes packing ;), so we could take a look at the valley from above.

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4578/38635528222_8420dbb223_b.jpg

Eventually we reached our destination, Molar pass. The view from the west side of the pass was great :)

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4533/38635528732_55dfba7161_b.jpg
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4521/24795106308_e906497662_b.jpg

…but the view on the east side if anything was even better :D.

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4548/24795106428_5d2453e8c4_b.jpg

After soaking in as much as we could of the view, we covered ourselves with insect repellent and made our way back to the car trying not to donate too much blood to the mosquitoes .

Hi Mum,

Today we went for another nice hike. It took a long slog through the forest, but eventually we reached Guinn’s Pass, where the view was great :).

We decided to make a little extra effort and walked up the ridge east of the pass from where we could see lower…

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4700/39827657371_3035bb3609_b.jpg

…and upper Galatea Lakes.

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4754/39827659771_06da4faece_b.jpg

On the other side of the ridge Ribbon Lake was just below us.

https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4609/25954812008_f5bf5133c4_b.jpg

As we walked up the ridge we meet an unexpected friend :o. Landroval was flying in the area, spotted us and decided to stop by to say hello :D.

We had lunch with him ;), and then started making our way back.

…and I guess our friend Squab decided he is not in the mood to deal with another winter here ;) and he is ready to go home, so today we gathered to say him goodbye and wish him safe travel :).

…and once we reached the summit the view was great :D.
