and will start my journey |
Lizzy Posted Nov 26, 2011, 4:19 pm |
Hey!!
I have arrived in Germany safety. I was a bit scared because it was so dark and scary to be in this envelope all the time and this - I guess - afternoon, someone grabbed me and I was carried a few steps up. I heard voices and then someone slowly opened the envelope. I was happy, that I finally was able to see something but at the same time I didn't know what to expect... I climed out very slowly but there we two other TVs, who welcomed me! That was soooo nice. I didn't know there were two other ToyVoyagers! How cool is that!! They didn't know much about Vienna and so I told them, how it is to live there and they told me, where they come from. Sanji has been travelling the world for a while, which is very exciting! I hope I get to travel around as much as he already did! We talked so much, that I almost forgot I had some presents for my host, so I climed back into the envelope and got the sweets and the card out. She was very happy about that and says "Danke schön!". I'm glad I got here, but I was so echausted that I just fell asleep... Bye bye! |
Lizzy Posted Nov 26, 2011, 4:47 pm |
Heeeeey!
I'm having a great time here, which I'm spending with Buxi and Sanji mostly. My host had to work a lot during the past week so she wasn't able to take us out and take some pictures. But today we got to see a bit of Duisburg. It is pretty cold at the moment, but still above 0° C so there is no snow yet... We went out for a walk around a beautiful sea. It's at the "Wedau Sportpark". When it's warmer, they open the climbing park there which means you can climb up the trees there and make ones way along a rope through the park, which is very exciting I guess! But sadly it is too cold already and so it is too dangerous... So we just walked a round the sea once... In summer many people hang out here because they scattered sand at a few spots, so you can just sit down in the sand and relax... We also did that But it was very very cold and there was another reason we couldn't stay out there for so long, because we wanted to meet up with Lizas parents and walk through the city... It's christmas market time already here!! But it was very full so Liza didn't take many pictures, because she was afraid someone could bump into her while taking a picture and one of us would fall down and maybe get lost or something... Thank god that didn't happen! The christmas market was lovely, nevertheless. They put up some blue "trees" (they're fake, of course) and when it's getting darker, they switch on the lights and everything is so coloful then... Maybe we get there again... Probably... The markets closes on December 23rd, so there's enough time left. We found a little chinese restaurant in the city and so we had dinner there. Tomorrow Liza will probably meet a friend in Bochum, so I hope she takes us with her! Bye bye!! I miss you... |
Lizzy Posted Dec 12, 2011, 6:34 pm |
Hey!
Today we baked some cookies! It was the day before the 2nd Advent and my host had bought some stuff for looooots of cookies. And we were allowed to help a little! We needed the help of all 3 TVs in the house to roll the pasty so that we could cut out the cookies with the forms. I had the best form! A little heart. I loved it. This is just a bit of what we baked!! They are delicious! I love them! Bye, bye! I miss you. |
Lizzy Posted Dec 12, 2011, 7:04 pm |
Hey!
Today was a very happy and a very sad day at the same time. A new TV arrived at my hosts home. His name is Luk Zeke and he is a penguin. He looks very nice, but sadly I won't get the chance to get to know him better, because I'm leaving Duisburg tomorrow and get on to Berlin. It's the capital of Germany and I am sooooooo excited! There'll be so much to see! Liza has been to Berlin in summer this year and showed me some pictures. It looks amazing and I can't wait to be there! So I got into the envelope and tomorrow morning Liza will get me to the post office!! |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 15, 2011, 3:20 pm |
HELLO BERLIN HERE I AM!!
It's very nice here and I already met some new friends: two guinea pigs (their names are QuamQuam (brown) and Klea (black)) and another toyvoyager: CrazyEye. I think we'll have fun together. |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 16, 2011, 3:15 pm |
Hi Mum,
because the weather outside is terrible today, CrazyEye and I stayed at home. But we weren't lazy. We used the time to know each other better. So we played cards and looked at the Christmas decoration in the living room. Finally Marie taught us how to see 3D pictures in a magic eye book. This was one of the most interesting things I've ever learned!! To see the 3D picture you have to look "into" the design on the photo. If you do it right, you can see an elephant. REALLY I like CrazyEye. We are good friends now. I hope that you spend time with your friends, too Cessy |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 17, 2011, 4:42 pm |
Today the weather was perfect. That was good because so we could go to the Christmas market. I was so excited!! When we arrived the first thing we saw was a very beautiful carousel.
The Christmas market was a big one with many carousels, lights, snack bars and especially many people. I never saw so many people on one place. But the highlight was riding the big wheel. It was about 40 meters high and you could see the whole Christmas market from high above. CrazyEye loved it but I am a bit afraid of heights I think... Later we enjoyed some "Mutzenmandeln" and we looked at different scenes from "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs". I had a great day, mum |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 18, 2011, 4:08 pm |
Wow, how fast the time passes. It's already the fourth Advent. I can't await Christmas! But before Santa Claus is coming, Marie has many things to do for school. Today we helped her and her friend to make a presentation about agnosia for psychologie. I found it very interesting because of the different kinds of this disease. For a better understanding we read the text: "The Man Who Mistook His Wife For a Hat". It sounds funny but I can tell you it isn't.
I'm very happy that I learn new things everyday. Greetings Cessy |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 20, 2011, 4:45 pm |
Hi Mum,
I baked cookies again . See how delicous they look. I'm sorry that you can't eat some of them because they don't only LOOK delicous... YUM |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 21, 2011, 1:02 pm |
Marie got her first Christmas present Her friend gave her little colourful marshmallows. They look so good |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 23, 2011, 8:07 pm |
YEAH!! Marie has holidays at last. One day before Christmas. She bought the last presents and took me with her- but without the camera . Yes, things can be really bad.
After the Christmas present stress I listened to Marie's favourite band: Wise Guys. |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 24, 2011, 4:55 pm |
Merry Christmas for everyone!
But especially for you, Mummy. Before gift giving CrazyEye and I ate self made gingerbread and talked. Then all got their presents. I also got one. It's a Santa hat. Looks really cool, doesn't it? My favourite one of Marie's presents is a big soft toy. It looks so sweet . And she got clothes for a plush bear (looks like me in big ) and many other things. Again merry Christmas for you Cessy |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 25, 2011, 7:14 pm |
We went to Biesenthal today to visit Marie's uncle, aunt and cousin. They have a house with a nice garden.
After lunch we took a loooong walk around the "Wukensee". Although it was very cold outside there was no snow . But nevertheless Marie took some good pictures. |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 27, 2011, 5:26 pm |
SIGHTSEEING
Wow, we saw so many sights: "Weltzeituhr", "Fernsehturm" (so BIG!), "Rotes Rathaus", "Marienkirche" and... no, this is no sight but it looks funny "Berliner Dom", "Spree", the "Brandenburger Tor" of course and the "Reichstag". Did you know that sightseeing makes very hungry? At the end of the tour we ate very tasty ice cream. |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 29, 2011, 6:14 pm |
I LOVE chocolate. That's why I was very happy to visit the Ritter-Sport-Shop. It's like a chocolate paradise . It was very cold outside and so we first drank a hot chocolate to get warm again. Then we went on to the shop. There were so many chocolate bars: little ones, big ones, huge ones,... and bags, coffee cups, mouse pads and many other things.
But I didn't only eat chocolate, I learned something about the production, too. I saw what cocoa beans look like and I saw how chocolate is produced today. Then I watched a little film about Ritter-Sport chocolate. Now I know how many chocolate bars you need to build the "Fernsehturm" or the "Brandenburger Tor" . At the end I created my own chocolate! I chose milk chocolate with strawberry pieces, yoghurt crispies and mini marshmallows. DELICIOUS |
QuamQuam Posted Dec 30, 2011, 8:03 pm |
Good evening Mum,
we went shopping today. Look what we saw as we looked into some shop windows. The shopping center was BIG! When we became hungry we ate a delicous pizza. Then Marie bought some games for tomorrow and a warm hat. It looks funny |
QuamQuam Posted Jan 1, 2012, 3:08 pm |
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2012
Like all other people we celebrated the beginning of the new year yesterday. First CrazyEye and I helped to decorate the living room with paper streamers and then we played the games which Marie bought. They were very funny. My favourite game was "Nichtlustig". You have to throw the dices and if you are lucky you get a card. The winner is the one whose cards have the highest value. Of course we also watched fireworks. They looked fantastic!! So colourful and shiny We stayed up till midnight and I clinked glasses with CrazyEye to welcome the new year. Look at Marie's new calendar for 2012. Marie and I hope that you'll have a perfect year, that you'll stay healthy and that all your wishes will become true |
QuamQuam Posted Jan 3, 2012, 6:24 pm |
Today the postman brought Marie's sister's last Christmas present: a remote-controlled car! Because it was so fast I could only sit on it as it was standing . But I could watch it as it drove . |
QuamQuam Posted Jan 5, 2012, 3:02 pm |
How are you, Mum
I'm leaving Berlin today. I already said goodbye to Marie and her family and they wished me the best for my coming journeys and I gave CrazyEye a little good bye kiss before I scrambled into my envelope. He even empurpled a bit . I hope that you will soon hear from me again, Mum Cessy |

Blackie Posted Feb 11, 2012, 3:10 pm |
Hi Mummy!
I am in Italy at last!!!! My envelope was picked up by someone who was going out, so I followed this person from inside there for a while. I couldn't believe it was sooooo cold!!!!! Wasn't Italy the sunny country???? Anyway, luckily it was a short walk and we got home soon! Here, my envelope was opened and I could finally take a look around. So, I met Francy, my new host. I gave her Marie's message, but she started staring at it and looked quite puzzled, so I guessed, she didn't speak German! I was happy to translate it for her and she enjoyed the message! Then, Francy introduced me to her family: I met Tare the Tarepanda, Ray the ray, Orso the bear, Trifolo the rabbit and Wellington the penguin. They all were very welcoming, and curious to hear about my adventure! After a while Orso also allowed me to ride him! We ran around the room an it was very funny!! I also met George... he says I look a lot like his little sister, and she hugged me sooooo tight and he wouldn't let me go!!!! I think he likes me! It soon was time for dinner. We ordered a Japanese bento with meat balls, rice and vegetables. I really liked it! We also got some sake, but I was not allowed to taste it... After dinner, Francy told me I should go to sleep soon, because we were leaving early in the morning to go visiting her parents. I was very excited and I slept in the bag... Francy was still not used to have me around so I was worried she could forget to take me with her! I'm looking forward to go! |
Blackie Posted Feb 12, 2012, 11:32 am |
We woke up very early today, and we soon were at the train station. I quicly got a place near the window.
The train departed and we soon started enjoying a mountain landscape. There was a lot of snow, I'm very excited! It took a while, but we finally got there! It was very cold, brrrr.... I met Francy's parents, they all were very nice with me. Later, Trifolo, Wellington and I went outside to play with the snow. We made a snowman! The landscape was very nice as well Then we found a little slope, so Wellington and me decided to try some sledding. Yuppieeeeee!!!!! I was very tired when we got back home! |
Blackie Posted Feb 12, 2012, 1:21 pm |
Mmmmm... today is even colder than yesterday...
So, we decided to stay at home. Guess what we did? We made a cake! We started preparing the sponge cake and cut it in halves... ... then we prepared the cream for the filling... ... and used it to fill the cake... Then, we prepared a chocolate cream as well... ... and covered the cake with it. Then, the best part of it! We decorated the cake! Do you like it mum? It was real fun to do it! |
Blackie Posted Feb 19, 2012, 4:14 pm |
Hi Mummy!
During the week, we actually don't do a lot, as my host is out to work. But tonight, we had a pizza night! Very Yummy! They are talking about some exhibition to visit on the weekend, can't wait to find out what it's about... I will post photos as well as soon as we can upload them! |
Blackie Posted Feb 26, 2012, 5:35 pm |
Hi Mum!
Today we had a ride on the underground. It looks cool, and it looks like they love bears here! Look, they even have reserved seats! And of course, I payed attention to the sliding doors after seeing the warning! We soon arrived to our destination: an art gallery. There was an exhibition going on, I didn't understand exactly what it was about, but there were a lot of postcards, and my host Francy loves postcard! They all where from London. There were lots of types of souvenir postcards of London. Looks cool, mm? There also were some more classical artworks; I saw pictures by the Italian painter Canaletto... ... by Matisse... ... and also a couple sculptures by ths famous Antonio Canova! As we exited the Pinacoteque, it was dark and very cold, and coming back home it started snowing, so I could have a couple pics in St. Charles Square with the snow. We walked a lot today... |
Blackie Posted Feb 26, 2012, 5:45 pm |
Guess what happened today?
We gave Trifolo a bath! He looked quite dirty, I asked him how it came and he told me something about a sidewalk in Budapest... I don't really know if I have to believe this... I was a bit concerned about him being in the washing machine, but he looked relaxed and said he usually enjos having a ride on the rollercoasters... I don't know if I would like to try it myself, looks quite.... dizzling... But when it stopped and Trifolo came out, he was so white and clean and he smelled so good! |
Blackie Posted Feb 26, 2012, 6:08 pm |
Today, we got mail!
It was soon clear there was somebody in there... but this somebody was scared to come outside, so I gave him a bit of encouragement So, here came Kazumi! She's from Germany, this is why my encouraging words worked just fine! She came out of the envelope and showed us a few gift she had for us, including a yummy chcolate bar -can't wait to try it! I introduced her to the whole family I think we'll go on very well! |
Blackie Posted Feb 28, 2012, 10:02 pm |
So, today is Saturday and Francy is not working, so she promised to take us somewhere interesting!
Kazumi and me had a quick breakfast before going out As Kazumi really loves Japan, our host thought she might be interested in visiting the Oriental Art Museum! I was very curious as well! Unluckily, we were not allowed to take photos inside... but we did steal some pics in the Japanese gallery! Althought, I was quite worried and tried to hide as much as possible! We spent quite a lot of time in the museum, and after we went sightseeing around the city a bit. We saw some ancient palaces and Francy told us that they used to be the residences of the Royal House of Savoy, who reigned over Italy from Torino itself! She also told us something about those palaces being an Unesco World Heritage Site, but I'm not sure what this means... I will search something on the internet about them... |
Blackie Posted Mar 3, 2012, 9:40 pm |
We got a new travel mate today!
Here came BatGirl from the United States! She looks friendly, hope it will be fun to have her here with us! |
Blackie Posted Mar 11, 2012, 9:08 pm |
Hi Mum!
Today we went around Torino to show BatGirl around. This means I saw everything once again! It was a bit boring at first... But I got the chance to get some more photos with the Savoy palaces, this time with the daylight! So, I saw again the Royal Palace.... ... and the Queen's Palace... This one is new instead, and it looks quite stange, but beautiful! We also walked to the river, to see the Gran Madre Church, and to enjoy the breeze on the brigde... After all this walking, we had a rest in St. Charles Square, the one I already saw with snow. Today it has shining sun! In the end, it wasn't too bad! |
Blackie Posted Mar 18, 2012, 2:24 pm |
Hi Mum!
I'm sorry I didn't write you earlier, but I really didn't do anything special lately... But this is my last weeked in Torino, and Francy she still had one special place for me to visit This tall building you see behind me is called "Mole", and we went on the top of it! The queue to enter was more than one hour long, so Francy had plenty of time to explain us something about it. She told us it was originally built to be a Synagogue, but then it became too expensive for the Jew community, so they made a museum out if it. It now hosts the museum of cinema. There is also a sort of "urban legend" that Torino University student can't go on the top of the Mole, if they will they will never graduate! Francy graduated one year ago, so no risk about it - but it's her first time to go up as well! Oh, finally it's our turn to go up.... ... and here we are! Torino overview from the different sides! Do you think this makes me complete my first mission? Please say so Mum, I would be so excited!!!! When we came out, the night was starting falling down, so I could see it lighted! As we came back home, I had another surprise: I has a little farewell party with my mates, and I also got a cake! Later on, Kazumi and Batgirl helped me picking a postcard for my next host, and I tried my envelope to make it confortable for the journey... I will travel again very soon... hope it will be quick... see you soon Mum! |

Locarno is the capital of the Locarno district, located on the northern tip of Lake Maggiore (Lago Maggiore) in the Swiss canton of Ticino, close to Ascona at the foot of the Alps.
The Locarno International Film Festival and Moon and Stars (Openair) takes place every year in the Piazza Grande. The Piazza Grande is a big place in the heart of Locarno. It's very nice for relaxing and drinking something. And then, I was so hungry! ...we eat a pizza! Fantastico! The Lake Maggiore (Lago Maggiore) ...can you see the big storm in the background? ...could my host help to complet a life mission...?!? ...and then, I found a fantastic overview of the Swiss cantons: |
