Binky, travelling Gisborne to...., Germany

I'd like to see things that i can only see in your place or country. This may be a traditional recipe, your favourite ice cream brand native plants, road signs,..... and of course famous sights and such less well known.

Tinka Posted Oct 31, 2011, 7:27 pm	It's Halloween! Martina has made some yummy little Halloween cakes. Mmmmh, it tastes really nice. Rosalie surprised us with a funny costume. I'm still waiting for my first adventure. I just can't wait.
Tinka Posted Nov 3, 2011, 4:59 pm	Yippie! I'm going to Gisborne, Australia! I'm so excited! Today my first adventure starts. I can hardly believe that I'm really going to be in Australia in a few days. That's so great! But Australia is soooo far away and I'm also a bit scared. Rosalie kissed me goodbye. She is really sad that I'm leaving. Then she helped me into the envelope I'm travelling in. I will miss you so much! Bye everyone! Gisborne I'm coming!
fleursmum Posted Nov 23, 2011, 6:03 am	Hi Mum, Today I had a ride in what I think was a car and then I got squashed in what felt like a round shaped thing  and then I was moved again and then I could hear voices!! I have arrived!! Ohhh!! Someone is looking at me!! If I stretch a little more I will be out of here!!! Here I am Mum with Super Red Ted and Mooney. Super Red Ted is going to be a wild release TV but he has to have his ID tag fixed and Mooney is visiting from Germany. fleursmum Posted Nov 24, 2011, 7:45 am	Hi Mum, Today Mooney and I went with Sue and her husband into the city to see her husbands doctor. We didn't get any photos there but did get a photo waiting for the train to come home  Once back in Gisborne Sue had to walk back to work cos the bus wasn't running  ...but we had a bonus because we saw an echidna waddle across the road in front of us ...a car nearly hit it... here it is burrowing through the long grass... fleursmum Posted Nov 24, 2011, 7:56 am	Back at work we helped with the shelving and watched while Sue did some work on the computer. After work we took the dogs for a walk in the park - here we are by the soccer pitch and here is Fleur the corgi and look how I travelled .hee tee... I didn't have to walk  here I am being an Aussie koala up a gum tree - but my bum is too soft and the tree is uncomfortable!!! here we are heading home in the car.  Tomorrow we are going to the city on a school excursion on a bus, so that should be exciting. fleursmum Posted Nov 25, 2011, 7:14 am	Hi Mum, We had a busy day today, Sue went on a excursion to the city so we went along too, here we are getting on the bus here we are on the bus, me Mooney and Super Red Ted We stopped at the Broadmeadows library to have a look  around - it was a big library there was a big promotion setting up to say no to violence against women - we loved this little house We thought we could happily live in this little house!!  Back on the bus and off to the city now!! fleursmum Posted Nov 25, 2011, 7:29 am	Back again Mum, now we are in the city we had lunch in Melbourne Central, there was a huge food court and lots of food to choose from, we had some chips but Sue forgot to take a photo  I liked the Christmas decorations this is me out the front of the State Library and here I am with Mooney Next we are in the old art gallery part of the library then we went to the round reading room, this place is pretty old! would you believe this chair is 100 years old  wow!!! Here we said goodbye to Super Red Ted because he is staying here and going to be a wild release TV. How exciting!! But Sue is sad because she hopes he gets picked up and not put in the rubbish!! All these books here are part of the Australian collection - a good place for a koala to be  I don't know that you can see me here Mum - but look at that amazing roof!! Nearly back in Gisborne now - just driving off the freeway. I am ready to go home for a sleep now Mum - there has been lots of activity for a little koala!! Talk soon Love and hugs Binky

fleursmum Posted Nov 27, 2011, 10:13 pm	Hi Mum, Today Mooney and I went with Sue to The Tibetian Buddhist Centre to look at the rose gardens. As you know it had been raining yesterday so the roses had been knocked around, but we still had a good look around and saw some pretty flowers - some smelt great too! We have arrived - I was distracted by a big puddle near Sue's feet!! check out the bug on the rose Mum!! This is us by the dam - the ducks live here and the water is used to water the garden beds another gum tree - this time a squiggly wiggly one, but again no good for eating for me! Here we are at the dam again - heading back to the car now. Love and hugs Binky
fleursmum Posted Nov 27, 2011, 10:35 pm	Hi Mum, Just up the road from the rose garden is Tullamarine Airport - it is the big one for Melbourne. Sue said I probably was there when I came to Australia in my travelling bag.. The planes fly low over the road that goes along the end of the airport. Hey Mum!! Sue drove past one of those road signs you had talked to me about, so we had to turn around and go back to get a photo!! just on the side of the road there we found a flowering gum tree - nice flowers huh?? another plane went past - here we are heading home to Gisborne another one of those signs Mum - but we didn't see any kangaroos - Sue said it was the wrong time of the day, they are out and about early in the morning and at dusk. fleursmum Posted Nov 28, 2011, 9:09 am	Hi Mum, Today we took Tupai the chow chow for a walk in the park here he is in the long grass we passed a bottle brush plant in flower can you see the runners up on the power line Mum? This is the old courthouse near the park this is the old lock up out the back of the courthouse - we think it was used in the gold rush days,  don't think I would like to be in there Mum!! outside!! Phew!! Here I am sitting on the bluestone wall at the back of the old jail  Sue says this isn't a very good photo but it shows three figures, two football (Aussie rules) players and a Bulldog. The local footie team are called the Bulldogs and this sculpture was made from an old tree - a lady did it with a chainsaw! Pretty good huh!! Love and hugs Binky xxooxx
fleursmum Posted Nov 28, 2011, 9:12 am	Back again Mum!! Sue tried to get a photo of me looking at two rosellas in the grass - this is outside the family room door. Sue had spent 2 hours cutting the grass today and it isn't finished yet - I stayed inside cos the mower noise was too much!! The rosellas are red and blue little parrots and they eat the flowers and seeds of a weed that grows in  the grass here. The rosellas look funny they stand on one leg and hold the seed in the other like it is their hand. Talk to you soon Mum, Love and hugs Binky
fleursmum Posted Nov 29, 2011, 7:46 am	Hi Mum, Today I went to work with Sue - I met the lucky cat - he has been made out of folded paper - very clever isn't it? The Japanese teacher at school made him - Sue started to make a koala but only has the head finished. here we are at the front door to the library this nice gum tree is just outside the library workroom - it has bright red flowers at the moment but they are up high and hard to see, this photo is looking away from the front door towards the main road into the school Here I am at the local post office, we went here to post postcards  Here is a real Aussie sign Mum - it is just up the road from the end of Sue's street, we had to be careful because it had long grass around it and snakes are on the move at the moment, so we stamped our feet to let them know we were there!! this sign is behind the koala sign - sadly sometimes native animals get hit by cars, but at least there is someone to ring to get help if you hit one or see one on the side of the road. It is 33 degrees here today Mum and very hot for me and I'm off for a cool drink and a rest  Lots of love Binky xxooxxoo

fleursmum Posted Nov 30, 2011, 4:56 am	Hi Mum, Today something very exciting happened!! A travel pack arrived n the mail! Mooney and I got up close to have a look - we couldn't hear anything, maybe the tv inside was sleeping? we moved to get a better look inside when the bag was opened and guess what???? It was Sunshine Mooneys sister!!! WOW!! They have met up on their travels around the world! How good is that! we are off now Mum to have a chat about all the travels Mooney and Sunshine have done. fleursmum Posted Dec 1, 2011, 8:02 am	Hi Mum, Today I went into the city with Sue and her friends- they were volunteering at the Variety Club Christmas Party we went into Melbourne on the train. Have a look at this Christmas tree!! This is a different tree. We had a look at some things that usually live in  the sea , these are puffer fish and a turtle have a look at these shark jaws!! Oohhh! fleursmum Posted Dec 1, 2011, 8:15 am	Back again Mum, Next we had a look at the reptiles, a little snake a big python Yeehaa!! I am riding the crocodile - thank goodness it's mouth is taped shut, there are alot of sharp teeth in there! this is an albino snake from New South Wales. Sue and her friends were working in Santas castle helping the children go and visit with Santa. back to more normal things now Mum, this is the Yarra River, we crossed it on our way back to the train station. Then the best part of the day...lunch!! Maybe if I am quiet I can get some of these wedges too... Ooh, we nearly forgot - we saw this sign at a tram stop, it is a bit far away, but I guess a rhino on a skate board is a little like a tram - big, heavy and very hard to stop in a hurry!! Ah now we are back at the train station - we all want a sleep now because it has been a busy day. Love and hugs Binky

It was a very busy day until about 1pm when it started to rain, people went off home soon after that so it wasn't so busy. this is the big orangutan that goes to all the markets, she gets alot of attention!  Love and hugs Binky
fleursmum Posted Dec 5, 2011, 9:45 am	Hi Mum, Today we took the chowchow for a walk and Sue showed me the New Zealand things in the park. Gisborne here used to be the sister city to Gisborne in New Zealand so out Botanic Gardens (very new) is mainly New Zealand plants. Yee hee another gum tree - was quite nice swaying about in the breeze!! this plant is a Hebe - they are from New Zealand but grow really well here. some information about the gardens the tree behind me is a totara tree and this is Tane Mahuta the god of the forests and land - looks pretty scarey to me Mum!!  this tree Mum is a kowhai tree, Sue tells me in the spring it has yellow beak shaped flowers that the birds get the nectar from, especially a native New Zealand bird called a tui. here is a whole bed of New Zealand plants, the spiky looking plant is a flax, the Maori people in New Zealand use the leaves to make baskets and some clothing. Come on Tupai - hurry up!!  Hey, we found an Australian plant hanging over the fence - it is a bottle brush, but a pink one this time. Pretty huh!! I am on the drink fountain - I have a really good view from up here  the water comes out the fishes head when you go to get a drink, this is a favourite part of the park for Sue, she likes the oak trees Tupai stopped here at the creek for a drink before we went back to the car. fleursmum Posted Dec 8, 2011, 8:18 am	Hi Mum, Some new arrivals at Gisborne - Toto and I were keen to see who was coming to stay. mmm...they are both from Germany first arrival was Hasune and second arrival was SchokoCookie We will have some fun Mum!! In the evening we went to a Christmas dinner Can you see me in the Christmas tree? fleursmum Posted Dec 12, 2011, 7:33 am	Hi Mum, I am back - we have been to the beach at St Leonards this weekend - we stopped in Geelong on the way through to have a breather and stretch our legs. Geelong is on the Port Phillip Bay, which is a big bay that goes from the sea all the way to Melbourne. Here I am looking out along the Pier - at the end is a restaurant and pub run by a local football player. this is one group of bollards - they are Geelong Bollards and show the history of the local area - there are over 100 of them, we just looked at a few. we found this guy in the childrens playground SchokoCookie and I thought it was quite cute!! this man has the Eureka Flag - the miners fought under this flag for better work conditions here is the Salvation Army lady these guts were at the rowing club - do you think they are watching us having a photo with them?? Hasune and I thought this lady was very glamorous! What do you think Mum? Hey Mum can you see me? The ships captain has me neatly in his bird cage!!! fleursmum Posted Dec 12, 2011, 7:37 am	Hey Mum, Here we are at St Leonards - we were going to have fish and chips by the beach but there was a howling wind blowing, so we had a quick photo and went to the house. This is a calm beach Mum, there are only waves when the strong wind is blowing. Can you see the rainbow over the Bay? There was a really heavy rain shower as we were driving - then it went out over the water. Hope it is fine tomorrow!!  Love and hugs Binky xxooxx
fleursmum Posted Dec 13, 2011, 8:17 am	Hi Mum, Today we went for a walk on the beach - it was a lovely sunny morning the beach behind me is where we went for a walk  we found a sea urchin shell Toto, Hasune, SchokoCookie and I liked sitting by the beach listening to the water and the birds flying over.  me telling the others about being safe on the beach!! we found this purple flower but don't know what it was  it is pretty though here is a blue agapanthus - they grow like weeds here - this is the time of year they start to flower and they keep going most of the summer this is a white agapanthus this is a yellow bottle brush another gum tree in flower Mum and this is a bougainvillea - they have sharp prickles so you have to be careful being near them!! fleursmum Posted Dec 16, 2011, 11:14 pm	Hi Mum, Today was a cloudy and rainy day so we were inside reading for a while later in the day we went into the back yard and had a look at the fruit trees - they are looking pretty healthy and there should be apricots for Christmas!! SchokoCookie and I in the apricot tree! you don't see a koala sitting in a plum tree often!! Maybe the plums will be ready for Christmas too! apples in this tree Mum, but they won't be ready until later in the year. Look at us sitting in the bougainvillea climber - there used to be a kiwi fruit here but it died in the drought sadly. But Mum, I found a great gum tree - not for eating but have a look at the flowers!  Pretty huh!! Ooh Sue forgot to show you what we had for lunch - not normal koala food but not bad! Yum!! fleursmum Posted Dec 17, 2011, 12:25 am	Hi Mum, On the way home to Gisborne we stopped at the Geelong Botanic Gardens - we had to look at the bollards ( Sue loves these so everyone has to see them!!  ) this one shows the man who started the gardens back in 1851 and a lady who has pinched a bit of a plant to put in her flower press (it is behind her back) SchokoCookie and I found these unusual looking gourds in the vege garden here is the bird of paradise flower this is the sage garden here we all are in the fernery another pohutukawa and this is a blackboy - they grow out in the bush here. fleursmum Posted Dec 17, 2011, 1:02 am	Hi Mum, Well today was a big day for me!! We went for a long drive in the car and arrived at Ballarat Wildlife Park. I was very excited!! Here we go!! important information for koala's!! My first view of a real koala - Hey You wake up!! I said but it just kept sleeping!  this is a Tasmanian Devil - they scream and growl and are really scarey out in the bush. The early settlers called them Devils because they could hear them and catch glimpses of their ears, which look red when the sun is behind them, and they sounded really frightening! The settlers weren't sure what they were at first! Here are some more koalas - they were busy checking out their gum leaves - did you know if the gum leaves fall on the ground the koalas refuse to eat it!!? Pretty fussy huh!! I met a kangaroo, it is a Western Gray - they are very friendly, especially as people feed them a seed and grain mixture, they come and look for it. I was tickled by its whiskers!! here is a kangaroo having a scratch and an emu another emu - it was eying off the food a kangaroo had - their eyes are a bit scarey Mum especially for a little koala and they have a big beak!! there is another sleepy koala here Mum - kind of hard to see though  ooohh crocodile or maybe alligator - we are not sure!! I am not sure who is checking out who here Mum, is it Bubblegum and me looking at the lizard or the other way around??? this giant tortoise was climbing over its lunch!! Up the back here is a red bellied black snake - Sue's husband saw one here in the back yard yesterday!! I think I will stay inside for a few days now!! Sue is too!! Yup it is a crocodile, we saw the teeth!! Oops, blurry photo - but here I met some outback koalas and told the all about being a TV - I am not sure they understood though. fleursmum Posted Dec 17, 2011, 1:05 am	Hi Mum, This was the special thing that happened today!! A photo with a real koala yay!!!! I have completed one of my life missions!! This koala was called Misty. She was very nice, but very interested in her gum leaves!( A koala has to be though!!)
fleursmum Posted Dec 17, 2011, 1:10 am	Hi Mum, Well I am so excited still but have to show you the other animals we saw this is a baby wombat - it is one year old!! Imagine how big and heavy the adults get compared to me!! Phew!! I think this wombat should have been sleeping because it was nocturnal, but maybe it had been woken up by a tour group going through and had lots of people patting it. It sure wanted to get out and talk to us! Here I am on the way home Mum, I am tired from all the excitement and need a rest now!! Hopefully we will go back another day here we are on the ring road that goes around the Melbourne CBD and here we are going through the tunnel that goes under the Yarra River. fleursmum Posted Dec 19, 2011, 9:50 am	Hey Mum, We had an at home day today - Sue had to clean the house - there were tumble weeds of dog hair on the floor!! The chow is moulting so his hair is everywhere!! But I was sitting minding my own business when I heard a rustling in the pantry - guess who I found there?? It was SchokoCookie and he had found a box full of cookies! But I told him we were going outside so he would have to look at the cookies another time! I will have to watch him Mum!! Bubblegum and I had a chat with Tupai but he was busy looking for rabbits and I don't think he understands us!! I found a very nice gum tree I even shared with SchokoCookie but I don't think hedgehogs are designed for sitting in a gum tree!! We had a look down the back of the block, there is water in the dam which is very unusual for this time of the year, also the grass is usually brown and crunchy by now. There has been lots more rain here this year in the winter and spring, so everything is growing like mad. Love and hugs Binky xxooxx

fleursmum Posted Dec 25, 2011, 5:19 am	Hi Mum, We drove to the other side of the city today to see Sue's sister-in-law and her family, they live on the edge of Sherbrooke Forest. here we are on the road here we are in the back yard we met Hector the goat - his job id to eat the grass and weeds and to keep the yard tidy!! here I am at the top of the driveway mmm...snack time!! lots of music happens here and painting - Sue's sister-in-law has done some beautiful paintings of the beach and the ocean have a look at this beautifully coloured bird Mum, we think it is a rainbow lorikeet the kookaburras came in for a fishy snack and there was roast turkey, roast vegies and greens for dinner - not as good as gum leaves but not too bad!!  Love and hugs Binky xxooxxoo

fleursmum Posted Jan 9, 2012, 11:58 pm	Hi Mum, Here we are at the beach - we went for a walk to Edwards Point I played hide in the gum flowers on the way  Can you see me? we are getting near Swan Bay which is around Edwards Point this sign told us about the plants and the animals we had a photo taken at Sue's favourite tree - it has grown around in a circle, this is the sign that tells us about the salt marsh - part of Swan Bay, and the plants and animals here now we are heading for the beach we had a little sit on the beach and enjoyed our surroundings we found a tree stump on the beach that looked like an elephant so we had a ride! in the afternoon we had a sit in the sun on the back verandah. We had a good vantage point to see and this is what we could see we liked this view and could have sat here for ages  and here we are looking out over the beach to the pier - lots of people fish out here in the afternoon we helped Sue work on her travelling notebooks, i got quite good at colouring!!  Love and hugs Binky xxooxxoo

fleursmum Posted Jan 11, 2012, 11:26 pm	Hi Mum, Today we had a drive to Queenscliffe to have a look around. This is a very old town (for Australia) is was established in the 1800's. here we are watching the ferry go out the heads - it is going to Tasmania this is the main surf beach at but the tide is out so there isn't much surf!! we had a photo with one of the lighthouses - I think I was looking at a cool car in  the carpark  Now we are at the old fort Next we had a look at the beach and the pier here we are looking back along the beach towards the fort - there was alot of seaweed on the beach today. fleursmum Posted Jan 14, 2012, 12:36 am	Hi Mum, Today we drove to Ballarat and were planning on having a walk around the lake and then looking at caravans, but the weather was really bad, so we looked at caravans and then came home. In the afternoon we went to pick up David's car and on the way home took the Chow for a walk in a different park we found a little gum tree with yellow bobble type flowers on it  Lucky it was a cold and windy day - hopefully the snakes were all at home with their mothers!!! fleursmum Posted Jan 24, 2012, 10:08 pm	Back again Mum ... on our way from Auckland we stopped at Paeroa - we had our photo taken with the big Lemon and Paeroa bottle. L & P was a drink made from the local natural mineral water and lemon - it is artificially made now by Coca-cola. This bottle is a major tourist photo stop in NZ. here is the park the big bottle was in on the way out of Paeroa we stopped at another park to have a look at the river and the swing bridge -this park is very popular for having picnic's or for bush walking - there are lots of tracks here - to old mines and along the old railway line. I found a nice New Zealand native tree to sit in - no good for eating of course - but it was nice (although a but spiky!! ) Sue can't remember the name of it, we may have to come back later and let you know!! fleursmum Posted Jan 25, 2012, 3:28 am	Hi Mum, Here we are in Waihi - we went to have a look at the Martha Mine - it is a fairly new open mine at Waihi. There has been alot of mining around this area in the past. Sue thinks this is the old cooling tower from the old mines - it was moved closer to the new mine so people could have a look at it. fleursmum Posted Jan 28, 2012, 7:38 am	Hi Mum This afternoon we had a drive over to Mount Maunganui to have a look at the beaches. Last October a container ship called the Rena ran onto a reef 20 km off the coast and since then oil, containers, broken containers and their cargo have been coming ashore. But today when we had a look it was clean and beautiful here we are at Pilot Bay -this is the harbour side of Mount Maunganui Hey Mum check out the huge cruise ship behind us!  Now we are on the surf side, I could have sat here for ages Mum!! this is where the life guards are on the beach Shane and I liked this part of the beach too!! it goes for miles and miles! fleursmum Posted Jan 29, 2012, 2:50 am	Hi Mum Today we had a big drive to Rotorua. We saw some interesting road signs on the way to remind people to drive carefully!! Our first stop was at Rainbow Springs this is a giant moa a flightless bird that has been extinct for a long time. we saw some kaka's but it was easier to take a photo of the sign!! we went under water to look at the trout Can you see the baby[url=tuatara] http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tuatara[/url]? They are really old reptiles - the adults can eat once in six months and breathe once and hour!! No wonder they sit about not doing much!! we had a little rest by a waterfall then went to visit the kiwis we had a photo with this big guy but couldn't take photos inside because kiwi are nocturnal and bright lights scare them Now we are in the Government Gardens this building used to be the bath house - people came here to bathe in the mineral waters for their health, now it is a spa, art gallery and museum the water from this pool is 212 degrees Fahrenheit or 100 degrees Celsius - this goes to the spa, too hot for me  these carved posts surround a memorial to the Maori soldiers who went away to WW1 lake Rotorua this water was boiling up out of the ground - it had a strong sulphur smell like rotten eggs  On the way home we drove through Te Puke and had a look at the big kiwifruit - thee is a big industry here growing kiwifruit. fleursmum Posted Jan 29, 2012, 3:36 am	Hi Mum, Here we are near the Auckland Harbour bridge, Sue did the bridge climb here a few years ago - you can also watch people bungy jump from the middle of the bridge we had a look at the big boat marina we went to a cafe there and had a cuppa Then we went up the Sky Tower. But in the base of the tower is a shop selling things from Weta Workshop we had our photo taken with Gollom from Lord of the Rings now we are up the tower looking down to the road below the bridge looks very small from here Tonight we went out for dinner at the Cock and Bull English style pub Love and hugs Binky xxooxx

fleursmum Posted Feb 16, 2012, 3:48 am	Hi Mum, Today we had a day out in Melbourne. When we got off the train at Southern Cross station we walked around the huge football stadium there and had a look at Docklands. This used to be the docks but has been modernised - there are apartments, shops and restaurants here now. Then we had a ride on the City Circle train - it is a free train that goes around the edge of the central city and has a commentary so you know where you are and what you are looking at!! we got off the tram at the State Parliament building for a photo - over the road is one of Melbourne's theaters This is St Paul's Cathedral Here we all are on a bridge over the Yarra River this is the spire over the Arts centre this statue is called Family 2 - so we joined the family!! this one the statue (Family 1) has been taken away so we became the family... Now we are down by the Yarra River - the bridge we were sitting on before is behind us Very nice here Mum, 25 degrees C, sunny a little breeze - not bad!! Back on the bridge again Mum but looking the other way this time - the stadium behind us is the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where cricket and Australian Rules football is played, sometimes there are concerts there too. Here I am in Federation Square Now I have crossed the road and behind me is Flinders Street train station. Back at Southern Cross station now and getting ready to go on the train for home. On the way home now. I have has a busy day and am ready for a snooz now!  Love and hugs Binky xxooxx

fleursmum Posted Apr 18, 2012, 8:24 am	Hi Mum, We are at St Leonards this weekend - last weekend of the holidays. Today we went on a bike ride - someone needed the exercise!! Ready to head off Along the beach - BigFoot and I had a chat because someone needed a rest already!! Next stop the boat launching ramp - I hope that seagull isn't hungry or we are in trouble!!  Phew!! We are ok - the seagull was just coming to join the other seagulls and the pelican! Mello and I had a chat when we went through the camping ground another view of the beach - Sue says we have to enjoy this while we can because winter is on the way soon!! Here we are at the main St Leonard's jetty Past the shops and off up Mooraduc Road Hey Mum this sign should also say and slow ladies on bikes!!  round the corner and into Bluff Road now a stop at the reserve and walking track and home for a rest Mum!! SYDNEY!!!!!!    I was squashed in to the mailbox - I just fitted inside  I went inside and had a look around at Elizabeth's house Elizabeth showed me where I was on the map I met her keyboard we decided to catch the ferry to University - so we took the 225 bus down to the wharf - we sat up the back - it was a new bus - I had a whole seat!! Hey Mum!! Elizabeth showed me her favourite post box at Cremorne Point - check out the view!!! SYDNEY - harbour, bridge and Opera house!!!   WOW!!!!!! I think this is the best post box ever!! Here is where the buses turn around - a hole had to be cut in the rock to make enough room - once they turn around the buses can take the people who come off the ferry back up the hill. here is where we catch the ferry here is the view from the wharf - pretty good hey Mum?? Here comes our ferry! here we are now inside we think this is Fort Dennison (Sue got a bit confused with some of the photos!! ) we know this is the Opera House Mum!!  Oohhh...the Sydney Harbour Bridge - Hey Mum, did you know that Sue has climbed to the top of this bridge? Exciting!! Wow...the Opera House from the side....I want to walk on top of there!! AND I DID!!!!!        More soon Mum Love and hugs Binky xxooxx

fleursmum Posted May 21, 2012, 8:20 am	Hi Mum Today I went with Elizabeth to post some postcards at the Neutral Bay post office - I liked these post boxes too Mum cards to post boxes to put them in!!  we had a look at May Gibbs Place and the signs there and then we had a sit in these amazing seats I stayed up late at night because Elizabeth was working on her Non-Commutative Harmonic Analysis assignment - but I soon got bored with that so I went off to play with some of Elizabeth's other creatures I really liked Totoro and Little Grey Mouse, but the other toys were really friendly too - usually they only talk to handmade toys but they were nice to me! No bubbles in the fountain today Mum - Elizabeth told me that often people put detergent in the fountain and the there are lots of large bubbles - I would have liked to see that!! here is the Channel 7 TV studio - the morning shows are filmed here and you can watch them through the windows More of the Ch 7 building Time for a sleep now Mum - Elizabeth's scarf looks very warm and cosy!!! fleursmum Posted May 27, 2012, 6:49 am	Hi Mum, Today Elizabeth and I put up a poster for the Manley Musical Society but I missed the photo  not to worry - doesn't Sydney harbour look wonderful this morning - it is 7.45am!!!!!  Some people in suits were laughing at me Mum, they thought it was funny taking photos of me on the ferry!! So I hid in Elizabeth's back pack for a while but then I came out again in time to see the Sydney Harbour Bridge not far to go now this building is the Museum of Contemporary Art - it's recently had an addition to the right - some people think the new wing is ugly but Elizabeth and I like it!  Here we are at the university - into the scarey domain of the Arts students  We put up a poster for Oklahoma!!  I'm off for a rest Mum - early morning and busy time!! fleursmum Posted May 27, 2012, 6:57 am	Hi Mum, Today we visited Elizabeth's Mums place and we got to make a finger puppet!! I explored the garden sat on the verandah and met Elizabeth's most prized possession - her beautiful piano! I liked the passion fruit vine!!  Love and hugs Binky xxooxx
fleursmum Posted May 27, 2012, 7:10 am	Hi Mum, Today I helped Elizabeth with a presentation she had to get ready but Maths is not really my thing so... I wandered off to look at the book shelves mmm...... oops I think I am sideways here Mum!! Elizabeth had a study break Mum and was doing some crochet on a scarf but I think it would make a good Binky blanket - what do you think??  we posted some letters and postcards - doesn't the Opera House look great with lights Mum! Time to help with dinner now spaghetti bolognaise!! Yum... After dinner we decided to watch Q & A on the computer (Elizabeth doesn't have a TV) and we caught the weather first - is seems to be cold at home like it is here!?! Q & A here we go! A bit cold and windy but the ocean looks wonderful!! and here we are at Barwon Heads we watched some people in kayaks come out the river and then out to sea - we think they were having a race Cuppa time before we head home. fleursmum Posted Jun 4, 2012, 2:04 am	Hi Mum, Today we took Lexie into the city to show her around and we found a display in Federation Square. We think it was to promote electric cars - and then what do we do with petrol pumps that are no longer needed?? Here pumps have been turned into a fountain..but we saw something really special and I had my photo taken with a huge.... KOALA!!!! I was soooo excited!!! here we all are at the train station before we went home!  Love and hugs Binky xxooxx

fleursmum Posted Jun 4, 2012, 7:18 am	Hi Mum, Tonight we helped with dinner - I watched the veges being cooked, mmm....doughnuts.... back to the dinner...veges going into the dish - Tica told us a joke and Lexie and I fell over laughing!! pasta goes on top of the veges cheeses sauce and parmesan cheese goes on top of the pasta guess who turned up when he smelt the cheese?? Yep, the chow chow!    Dinner goes in to the oven now Vege lasagne ready to go!!  Yum  Love and hugs Binky xxooxx
