Here, Phillip shows off his family's home. :)

Posted May 22, 2011, 11:08 pm
Philip meets a curious creature in the garden. Other homes might have gnomes, but Phillip's family has F3, the armadillo. He was named after the F3 tornado went north of town in 2003, just a few weeks before F3 joined the family.

Philip hangs out in the strawberry pot on the back porch.

Philip likes animals. Here he visits with the friendly, white cat named Biscuit; two chinchillas, and some goldfish!

Posted May 22, 2011, 11:31 pm
Phillip went to church with his family today. He got a warm greeting at the door, and checked out the guest book!

Posted May 23, 2011, 1:33 pm
Phillip checks out the local countryside. He is preparing to journey to England to visit Leslee and wanted to take a last look around before he goes. He saw llama's in the Boyer's field, noted that the water level has gone down on the Neosho River, and admired the wildflowers while watching those wild springtime clouds.

Posted May 23, 2011, 1:42 pm
Phillip takes a last look around town with his family. He shops the Diamond Daisy, stops for a break with the kids, looks at all the dogs available for adoption through the local animal rescue, and checks out some handsome cowboy boots! Kansas is cowboy country, after all!

Phillip and some of his kids, in downtown Iola. Just hanging out and preparing to say goodbye.

As Phillip prepares to go on his journey to England, he has a farewell luncheon with his family at their favorite local restaurant, El Charro! He appreciates the cheerful atmosphere (pictures are of the front and west sides of the building- Phillip is really tiny in these two pics, see if you can spot him!) and enjoyed sharing chips, bean nachos, and vegetarian fajitas!
Bon voyage, Phillip! Enjoy England! :)

(Oh and I met a Toyvayager friend Karlie who is having his first voyage too)
I will talk again soon (it is all exciting and new being here!)
Got to go...

Big Owen had a friend to visit today but Leslee only has a very small apartment so we went out.

The boys and I agreed to to ten-pin-bowling.  We had to cycle there and it took about 40 minutes.  The bowling alley is at a shopping center on the outskirts of the town.
As soon as we got there I had to wait for them to have a shooting game.

Here is me and my new freind Karlie (who is from Germany) having a bowling snack of a chocolate called Minstrels.  They are just like smarties but bigger and brown.

After the bowling we played airhockey.
Can you find Karlie?

Leslee said we had to go because we had spent too much money already and we had to go to the petshop.
We didn't have time for photos in the petshop, but this is what we bought for Leslee and Big Owen's pets.  I will have to show you them soon.

On the way home we stopped to play in the woods but I'll tell you about that later
Bye everyone, love from Phillip.

Hi everyone, I have time to tell you about the woods on the way back from bowling yesterday.
The woods is in a big area saved for conservation and is also a great place for people to  come and play and bring their dogs for a walk.

We played hide and seek.
I hid.  Can you find me?

Big Owen's friend found me!

It was really good fun and great exercise.

xx love from Phillip

Today we went to the dentists which didn't take very long...
and when we got back, Blinchick had arrived!
I don't feel like the new guy any more :OD !

The weather was good and we all had a great day helping Leslee's dolly friend (Yewlee) to put a grassy carpet down in her new house.
Then we did more crafting outside.
I had great fun looking in Yewlee's box of things for her house.

I hope you are all well back home.  I do miss you all a bit but I am keeping busy here and have lots of company now,
Love you all,
Phillip.  xx

Hello everyone, I just wrote you a very long update but Leslee said the internet was disconnected and it didn't send so here is a quick version of the last post!

We went to the community furniture store to find a sofa because this one is not really a sofa and it is old, tatty and uncomfortable.
Blinchik(TV) found this one.
Lesley said it was good because the legs come off and it might get past the bend in the staircase but she didn't like the colour much and it was a little bit too much money.

So then we went to the park at an eco centre and had a picnik and explored.
I really liked this giant compost heap.  My TV friends were not impressed even when I suggest that they look at it for a bit longer.

We collected some wood for Leslee's dolly friend to make banisters with in her house.

But then we were so tired we all fell asleep on Leslee's bed.

I shouls be going with everyone to York town today and might get to see some historical builings.
(Leslee is having trouble with her camers/computer and keeps loosing photos but is doing her best to make sure I don't miss anything here to show you.)

Take care everyone xx

Hi everyone.  I went into York with Leslee, Owen and their friend on Saturday but we were so busy I didn't get many photos.

The others went to a shop while us Toyvoyagers went with Leslee to the miniatures shop.
Leslee says that people even come from other countries hoping to come and shop in this shop.

Just behind the miniatures shop is the Merchent Adventurers House.  Leslee didn't know much about it but said it was the oldest building in York.

We all went to a park afterwards and I liked the remote controlled boats best.

Sorry we were having too much fun for many photos. :OD

Here is a quick lunch they like to make here.

They haven't got an oven!  Here is the space where the oven belongs.
It is tricky but they manage.

They put butter on the wrong side of some bread and put baked beans in.  She said it is very difficult to find anything like baked beans in USA - she has been to the US twice and couldn't find anything like it there.
This goes in the toastie maker for a few minutes
and comes out hot and yummy.

She made easy smoothies too.
There was only one yogurt pot left so she put it in a jug
I poured some milk in
and then she whisked it all up and poured in into classes with straws.

Very simple but I tried it and it hit the spot.

Hi again.  I want to tell you about today now.

Leslee was working from home today but had already done everything so we all went into the town while Owen was at school.

There is a Medieval wall that almost surrounds the old part of the city. There are four main 'bars' which are gaters to get inside and there are two smaller ones and in modern times there are other ways in now too.
This is one of Leslee's favourites ,in fact I must have gone under this 6 times already!
This is Monk Bar
There is a really cool model shop right under one of the the arches
and here is a gateway up to the top[ of the walls which you can walk almost all the way round york on.
Can you see me here.  I got up one step but I couldn't get much further!

This is St Williams College where we parked the bikes
just behind York Minster (the second largest Gothich cathedral in Europe)
Leslee says that this part has looked like this for a long time.  It is being restored.  The old eroded stones are being replaced regularly by newer ones that have been made in the original stoneyard very close by.
This is very new.  The Stone masons have a shed here now to work closer to the Minster and so that tourist can see how they do it.
Here is part of the Minster.
Can you see the big round window?  It is called the Rose window.  It was destroyed in a fire when Leslee was a girl.  The Minster got hit by lightening but the damaged bits have been restored now.
(ps for this photo I am sitting on the base for a Roman pillar!)
Constantine sits just outside the Minster's entrance so Blinchick and I went to tickle his toes a bit.  Karlie didn't want to because he has done this before and said that his Roman feet were smelly!

Here is the Lord Mayor's House.

We stopped for a rest and shared some Pom Bear chips

We found this cute Teddy bear shop but it was closed when we passed but everyone agreed that we should go back

Bye for now, I hope everyone is well xx
(ps, Leslee says, do you have Pom Bear chips where you live?)

Hi everyone!
I have been enjoying watching Sam's updates with Leslee and Owen, they are brilliant.

I have so much to tell you guys that I'm just going to get on with it...

Tuesday morning was all about bikes and parcels.
I watched Leslee wrap some parcels.  The the postman came and brought Leslee a parcel from Finland with little toys in.
Then we went out, to post parcels but also take bikes to the bike rescue centre.
Leslee's bike was broken and needed a new set off wheels.  Owen's bike got stolen last month.  The police found it at someone's house but it was very broken so she took both of the bikes to the center.
They fixed Leslee's bike for free because she only just bought it from them this month and they kept the broken bike to use the parts for other bikes.

Then, all jobs done, we went back to that Teddy bear shop :OD
We all went in and met lots of bears, and then had coffe and bacon sandwich in their cafe.

Do you remember last week I went to the pet shop for a bulb for Leslee and Owen's pets?
Well, the bulb wasn't the problem.  The lamp needed a new fuse so we bought one while we were out.
Here are the pets.
George and Shelly
In England, they only call the ones that live in the sea (but not near England) turtles,
they call the ones that live on land tortoises,
and these ones that live in fresh water are what they call terrapins.
These terrapins are called yellow bellied sliders and they are both boys.
I can actually see then now that the bulb is fixed.

Hi folks!

Wednesday was a busy day at work making pirate props.  I did more playing than I did making!

After work, Leslee had to go and get her bike back but it wasn't ready yet so we went to the National Railway Museum while we waited.
Here  I am next a train that I realy liked
It is called Aerolite

This is inside one of the engines.  It was so shiny.
There were so many engines here, and models and carraiges.
The bike was finished and ready to be picked up very soon so we didn't get more time for photos.

Bye for now x

Hi everyone,

I am staying in today.  I am waiting for Owen to wake up.  Leslee says that if he doesn't get up in the next half an hour I can go and jump all over his bed to wake him.

The postman has been today and brought Mishuta.
We didn't know that Mishuta was coming yet so it was a lovely suprise for us all.  He is so funny he is keeping us all entertained on this staying-in day.

Bye for now x

Hi everyone, (everyone who isn't away at camp!)

This weekend was quite rainy here.  They didn't go out anywhere so I stayed in and made things with them and watched Leslee tidying.

This is a game board we all made.  Owen made the spaceship counters.
I made the bead score keepers, well I passed over the shiny jewel beads...

Later I met lots of new friends in Leslee's room!
The Monchhichi and their friends

The Tiemis, Mom angel and her little devils

the nyamys, though I only really met one because Nappy was sleeping

These three were so friendly.  This is Sibyl, Zuzu and Felicia, all Russ Berrie friends.

It was nice to meet them all.
Leslee says that is someone else called Phillip here AND someone called Phillippe but I haven't met them yet.  Perhaps next time it is a rainy day.

Bye... got to go play with my new friends

Posted Jun 16, 2011, 8:43 pm
Hi everyone.  I had an adventure yesterday.

Every day, I travel in a little monster bag (Leslee says I can photograph that for you soon).  It is just the right size for 4 ToyVoyagers and it makes me feel safe.
We go to work every weekday in this bag, hoping that Leslee will get chance to take some photos to show you what I do there but of course, she can't take photos of the children and she is too busy (it is a good job I go there and help out!)

Well, Yesterday Leslee didn't take me to help with the 5,6 and 7 year olds!  No, I was with the 3,4 and 5 year olds in the nursery (kindergarten).  Leslee nearly didn't let me out of the bag here because she was so busy and worried about me but a little boy was feeling sad and she said that you and the kids would all probably want me to help him.
It worked.
He was so happy that eventually he went to play with another boy so I went to play with another little girl.  She liked me and we went and told Leslee that we were going to play together.

I got to have a ride in a dolls pram!  It was very comfy and I enjoyed having a rest.  The girl had lots of fun pushing me round and put other things in the pram for me to play with.

A bit later, it got a bit dark.  I couldn't see very much.  I was there for quite a long time and then I got hungry so I think it must have been lunchtime already.
It was ok because there were lots of things in the pram for me to play with but I did get bored eventually and I had a little sleep.

When I woke up it was all bright again, and there was Leslee.  She looked very happy to see me and she gave me an extra big hug.  Aparently, I had just had an afternoon nap in the outdoors toy cupboard.
The next bit was the most fun part because I got to run around the school very fast while Leslee told everyone "it's ok, I found Phillip!
Then I helped her take down the posters she had put up with pictures of me on.
Such fun!

Leslee said that she didn't need my help in Nursery again because I was a bit too good at it.

Today was sports day and it was brilliant.  I wish I could show you photos of that.

(I am not sure why but Leslee wants me to make sure that you know she is taking great care of me.  She is!)

Bye, love from Phillip

Hi everyone.  I hope you are well.
I have enjoyed seeing Sam and Jellybean's updates and am glad everyone is well.  Gosh, two birthdays since I left!!!!

I sent you all a little parcel but I forgot to write my name on it.  I think It might arrive next week.

We have not been anywhere this week really.
I did have fun with big Owen and the other ToyVoyagers.  He got Leslees mini photo studio out to make some monster photos and then he invited me over and took some photos of me in there.
I think I look cool in Owen's photo of me.
I AM getting a bit fluffy these days!

I went to a party on the dolly shelf on Friday night
three of the dollys were not there because they are little babies.  Anyway, they stay on the rainbow shelves and Yewlee lesley's special tiny doly friend is still busy decorating her house.

Well I was pretty tired the next day so I am glad that we had an extra hour in bed.  Leslee's neighbour gave her a pile of magazines so we all had a good read.

Saturday was spent making a gift for Leslee's dad.  It is a heavy door -stop in the shape of a camera because he spends all his free time out taking pohotos of the country side and sometimes magazines buy his photos.
We helped by eating rice pudding so that the empty pot could be used to make the middle of the camera lense.
Then we wrapped it up for him.  I hope he likes it.
I hope he shares the chocolate too.

I can't stay too long on here because I am going to a carboot sale soon and I have to let the other toy voyagers update before we go
Bye  (I will tell you about the carboot sale later  xx)

Posted Jun 19, 2011, 9:35 pm

I went to the car boot sale.

A car boot is just the trunk of a car.  English people call it a boot.

At a car boot sale, a farmer opens his field and people pay to come in and sell their old things form the back of thier car.
There were lots of cars here but Leslee says there were usually much more.  Lots of people put blankets on the floor to put the things on that they were selling and most people had tables too.

It started to rain so I finished my shopping quickly and didn't have time for more photos.

We went to Leslee's Dad's house, Owen's Grandma and Grandad.
Here I am at their house with a little friend that I found at the car boot sale.
He is a mexican doll and he reminds Leslee of one of her friends so she is going to call him mini Pookie.

Later in the afternoon.  I went out into Leslee's garden.  There are 9 other people living in these flats that share this garden but most of them are quite old.
Leslee has a little bit that is just for her and she tries to keep the rest tidy too.

I liked this rose

I helped to 'dead head' the Sea Pinks.  I thought it sounded like gruesome zombie fun but then I founf out that it was just cutting off the dead flowers.
I still thought it was fun though and I did all the pink ones and then all the white ones too.

I'm tired now
Bye for now.

Hi all,

It has been fun here this week because it has been India week at school all week.
Dancing, music, cooking, tasting, stories, dressing up, drama, making...  It is a shame Leslee couldn't take photos for you to see at school but she said she is not allowed to use her own camera there during school hours.
The children did lots of dancing to the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack with decorated sticks that some Indian ladies in fancy clothes gave them.
The sticks were too big for me so I just jiggled to the music.

Today Leslee has been tidying!  Actually she has been doing that for the last few weeks.  It is even tidier here than it was when I arrived.  I think it must me my influence.
Any way, that's why we haven't been out yet this weekend.

We just had dinner which I helped to make.  I put the mint in.  One of the children at the school brought the mint from her Grandma's garden to give to Leslee.
We were making root mash.  It is Leslee's favourite but she hasn't had it for a long time because she has no stove.  This is the new slow cooker she bought and it made the root mash very nicely.
In it is, carrots, sweet potato, potato, parsnip and cauliflower all mashed up with a little butter and seasoning.

I like the new bag Leslee has got us ToyVoyagers.  It is a little bigger which is great now there are four of us.

Leslee says we might go out tomorrow depending on when a guest  leaves.

Love from Phillip

Hi all,
I went out with Leslee and the other ToyVoyagers today.  Owen couldn't decide what to wear so she left him at home!

She cycled under that Monk Bar again and parked the bike in the usual place.  We got a better photo of the bike parking place this time.
Here it is
and here I am in the bike with the others.

Do you all remember when I went up a few steps into the doorway on Monk Bar?
Well I did it again but this time I went right to the top.
That is the door I came out through at the top.

I had to wait for ages for the computer this evening so it is very late now and I will show you more photos form today when I can.

Bye for now

Posted Jun 30, 2011, 5:33 pm
Hi everyone,

I got on the computer for a while so Leslee is helping me update so I can tell you more about the outing we had on Sunday.

Here I am with Mishuta on the bar walls.
There is a building behind us that we were looing at.  The Bile Beans advert has been there for at least 60 years.  You can't buy bile beans any more but the people here like the advert.

We could see the York Minster from here too.

there were lots of buildings that had the bar walls as their garden back walls!!!

Some parts like this looked like a castle.

Here is a wooden gate in the next bar.  This is at the top of Bootham bar
and we even went underneath later and gould see the bottom of the gate peeking out.  It stays open these days.

Botham Bar is a busy place.  Lots of people get in and out of town here and there was a big bus that tourists like to get on to see the town.
I don't need to because I can get all over with Leslee instead.
I liked this fountain so much that I asked to be photographed here twice.
The fountain is in front of the art gallery

and the theatre is here too

I showed Mishuta the Minster
and Blinchick liked this old church.

It was so hot that we went home but did look at a charity shop on the way and found this Black Pearl
Yo ho ho!

Posted Jul 3, 2011, 2:31 pm
Here is a really good shop that sells trains and cars and models to make.  We came here on Saturday and it is under the Monkbar.  This shop is almost 50 years old and is run by someone Leslee went to school with and his Dad.

On the way home we went to a supermarket which has a big old chimney.  It is so old and protected to it stays here near the new supermarket.

xx Bye everyone.

Posted Jul 8, 2011, 5:20 pm
I went to the swimming baths on Sunday.  I thought I was going swimming but when I got there I soon realised that I was just going there to watch!
I am glad.  It looked a bit wet in there!

I couldn't take photos in there but looked fun.

Posted Jul 8, 2011, 5:44 pm
This big Eeyore was such fun.  The boys and I had fun here for a long time.

Posted Jul 10, 2011, 2:15 pm
Hi everyone!

I haven't been out much for a bit because it has been very rainy here.  On Saturday she made Haggis with cabbage and mashed potato and I ate some but didn't get a photo.

Here I am later in the day trying to not get glue on me while Leslee made a Monchhichi.

Posted Jul 10, 2011, 5:31 pm
Hey you lot, We got the GPS to work!

Leslee was on the computer for ages to day and then all of a sudden, she jumpse up and say come on Philip, we have to go somewhere.
She says she worked out how to put the numbers in this thing so off we went on the bike, leaving Owen at home (he has to stay at home this week :O( ).

She kept looking at the GPS and we got off the bike here
This contained a good clue that we were in the right place.
I looked all over but it was a bit ewt from the rain.  I waited while Leslee looked but in the end she gave up.
She said she would come back on a drier day with more sensible clothes on.
She got all nettled!  I am glad I didn't go anyfurther!

Leslee says that she has wanted to go Geocaching for a very long time and says thank you to me and you all for inspiring her to persist and figure it out.
That was fun.

Hi you all,
I saw Karlie making the family tea today!

He went out with Leslee to go shopping and brought food home.
The other ToyVoyagers and I came to have a look at all the food.
He bought a big carrot in a brown bag and all those dirty carrots too.

Then he made coleslaw with the carrots he bought and served it with tuna, potatos and garlic bread.
We all came and had a good taste.  I liked the peas best.

xx Bye
(you can see more about Karlies carrot buying in his travelog if you want)

Hi everyone.

I have been out and about.

Here I am with Owen.  I think he looks a bit like Zury.
We took this photo while we were waiting for muggles to pass so we could retrieve the geocache we just spotted.

Then we went to the fish and chip shop.
Chips from English chip shops are soft and a little greasy.  It is traditional for them to be serves in nespaper like this but some shops sell them in polistyrene trays.  Most British people like to put salt and viniger on the chips but other favourites are curry sauce or a big dollop of mushy peas.

We all shared the first chips on top and the Owen ate the rest.
He likes lots of tomato ketchup on his chips.

Then we walked a long way and found another cache.  I liked the lid on this one.

I also liked this big red postbox that we spotted while we were out and about.

I am looking forward to having a leaving party at an indian restaurant at the weekend.

Bye for now, take care everyone

Posted Jul 17, 2011, 8:24 am
Me and my friends went to an indian restaurant to have my leaving party.

I tried popadoms

naan breads so big that I had to ask Leslee to reach them for me

All they voyagers wanted to stop and pose for this photo.  We had all got dressed up the the occasion.

It all got a bit emotional

I rather liked the Kalamari which turned out to be squid!

The Biryani was nice too

I think I liked the desert best

and then I helped to eat the after dinner mints made friends with our waiter :OD

We had a really nice walk afterwards but I'll have to tell you about that later

Posted Jul 18, 2011, 9:25 pm
After my party...

we went and had our photos taken

We were at the shortest street with the longest name.

We went back on the Bar Walls

and saw something very old

and something else very old
This is an ice house

Mishuta showed me how to look for berries on the cycle track that used to be a train track that took fruit to market.
Most of the bramles are not ripe yet but this one was perfect.

Almost back home I found this huge snail!

It was a great night out.

Well, here is my last post for a little while...

After a very busy week, Leslee finally had time to take me to the post office.

First I stopped at a shop and chose some of the sweets that are made at the chocolate factory here

I put them in the envelope with me, and now off I go!
See you all when I get to Brazil!!!
(How exciting!)

xx Phillip

Hi Mummy,

I arrived savely in Munich!!

Today we were in the Olympia-Centre in Munich. It was build for the Olympic Games 1972.

The Olympia-Tower is so big and the park around it is very beautiful. In summer you can boat on the little sea in the middle of the park. But today it was to cold and the weather was getting bad.

In the Olmpia-Centre is a big building with a "BMW"-Sing on it. It's the headquater of BMW. In the neaighbourhood is the factory, where the cars are build. Besides the headquater is the "BMW World". That's a big museum about the car and how it is build.

We walked a little bit and there was a great festival. It's called "Tollwood Festival". My host told me that it takes place twice a year. In summer it's only outside. And in winter there are some big tents.

There are many stands with jewelry, clothes, candles, toys, art etc. And of cours you can buy something to eat there. There are many international food-stands. You can eat french crepes, hungarian langos, german sausages, indish food, etc.

Unfortunatly we had to go home very soon because a thunderstorm was brewing.

In the next two weeks my host will be on vacation. She promised me to show me some wonderful places in germany.

Greets from Munich

Hi Mummy,

today we visited Rothenburg ob der Tauber. This is a little really old city in the middle of Germany.

This is city is more than 1000 years old!

There are many Half-timbered houses. They are so beautiful! My host said we will so many of them in the next view years.

After walking around a little bit we saw a really scary museum: The criminal museum. There you can see some horrible methods how many people were executed in the Middle Ages.

In the evening we had a nice view over the city.

Hi Mummy,

today we saw a little village named Amorbach.

There is a very beautiful abbey. It's over 1200 years old.
After visiting the abbey we had a little walk and then we drove on.

Hi Mummy,

today we visited the capital city of the federal state "Rheinland-Pfalz": Mainz.

There we saw the big dome of Mainz. It was build around 975. It's really beautiful. But we couldn't take pictures inside of the dome. This dome is one of the three Emperor's Domes in Germany. The other two are in Speyer and in Worms.

Then we walked around a little bit and came to a big river. It's called "Rhein". This river is really long and part of it is the border between Germany and France.

At the end we came to a big building made of stone. It was build in the year 9. Roman legionnaires build it in honor of their general Drusus. Because of that, this building is called "Drusus-Stein", which means Stone of Drusus.

Hi Mummy,

today we visited Speyer.

This is a very important city. There is a big dome. It is the biggest roman church in the world and is UNESCO world cultural heritage. It's approximately 1000 years old.

Some important emperors are burried in the crypt. They are Kondrad II. (with his wife Gisela von Schwaben), Heinrich III., Heinrich IV. (with his wife Bertha von Savoyen), Heinrich V., Beatrix von Burgund (second wife of Friedrich Barbarossa), Phillip von Schwaben (son of Friedrich Barbarossa), Rudolf von Habsburg, Adolf von Nassau, Albrecht von Österreich (son of Rudolf von Habsburg).

It's a very imposant buildung.

In the Middle Ages Speyer was a very important city.

Hi Mummy,

we made a little trip to Heppenheim. It's the city where Sebastian Vettl comes from. Maybe you know him from Formula 1.

First we saw the cute town hall.

Then I saw many lanterns with pictures on it. Every lantern on a way in the old city tells a little story. Very beautiful.

We saw a little house. It was an old school. It was build around 1680. I think it's a little bit slanted.

The church you see is called Saint Peter. It was build 1900 to 1904.

In the end we went to a castle called "Starkenburg". Today there's an youth hostel in it.

Hi Mummy,

in Beerfelden is something really scary: Old gallows!
It's one of the last existing gallows.

The last person who died there was probably a woman in 1804. She stole some bread. Horrible!!

Hi Mummy,

do you know the story about Frankenstein?
(if not, read this: Frankenstein Story)

I was on the castle in which this story took place. There was a little Festival.

A man told us a few things about this castle. That was very funny and a little bit freaky.

Hi Mummy,

on our way we stopped on a beautiful building.

It's the Himbächer Viädukt. It's 250 Meters long and 40 Meters high. On it's top there's a railroad.

Hi Mummy,

at last we saw a little well.

The host told me, that it could be the well where Siegfried was killed while he was drinking. It's a part of the story "Nibelungenlied".
You can read the hole story here:
The Nibelungenlied

In this story there's a man called Siegfried. He took a bath in the blood of a lindworm. Because of that he was immortal. But while he was taking the bath he had a little leaf of a lime on his back. There he wasn't immortal.

His wife Kriemhild told another man called Hagen that secret. She thought he could trust him. But Hagen wanted to kill Siegfried. Hagen met Siegfried on this well and killed him by sticking a lance in the back of Siegfried.

The Nibelungenlied is a very, very long story and it is very old.

Another interesting detail is, that in this story Hagen throw a large amount of gold in the river "Rhein". There are many people who think it's a true story and because of that they are searching for it. But nobody has found it yet...

Hi mummy,

I had a great day in Fritzlar, hostmum  was born    there
and goes there regularly, good for me ..... :D

Fritzlar is a small German town (pop. 15,000) in the Schwalm-Eder district in northern Hesse, 160 km (99 mi) north of Frankfurt, with a storied history. It can reasonably be argued that the town is the site where the Christianization of northern Germany (north and east of the Roman Limes) began and the birthplace of the German empire as a political entity. The town has a medieval center ringed by a wall with numerous watch towers.

Thirty-eight meters (125 ft) high, the Grauer Turm ("Grey Tower") is the highest remaining urban defense tower in Germany

this old house called Curia, it were designated as the home of a Säkularkanonikers, a canon or a canoness, mainly for individual buildings are representative district in immunity to the church...

great view of the Cathedral

from the other side...

The St. Peter's Cathedral is one of the most beautiful Romanesque-Gothic churches in Hesse.

Three-aisled basilica
The Cathedral of Fritzlar measures 43 meters (from the basement to the top). He continues to shape the cityscape of the small town in the Schwalm-Eder-Kreis (formerly Circle Fritzlar-Homberg). The three-aisled basilica in Fritzlar is considered one of the most beautiful in Germany.

The city hall, first documented in 1109, is the oldest in Germany still in use for its original purpose

The town hall is decorated with a stone relief from the 1441 Holy St. Martin, the patron saint of Fritzlar.

help I`m a good boy  :cyclops:

cobblestone pavement, very slippery during rain  :o, but not today :D

hostmum could not stop to take pictures
again and again she said : oh what a beautiful day ...  .... oh what a great view  ;)

......The monastery, hostmum went to school here

I'm sitting here on the Roland fountain on the market square. Many houses in the town center, notably around the market square, date from the 15th to 17th centuries and have been carefully maintained or restored.

in the half-

timbered house hostmum grew up

that was a great trip.....

Hi Mummi

we made a countrytrip suround the beautyfull landscape of  the Leinevalley ( Leine is a river in South-Lower-Saxony ). Near the village Greene we visiteit an old castle, the Greener Burg. It`s a ruin af an old romanic Castle, build at the beginning of the 14th century and wasted in the middle of 18th century.

Today only extant the Foundation walls and the great tower. From up there we enjoyed a marvelous view down at the Leinevalley.

very green here in "Greene" and a green Phillip  ;)

At  this lovely place hostmun tried to take lot´s of pictures from us TV´s, and causually she created a new sportdiscipline: TV-Yoga. Maybe – sometime- it will grade up to an Olympicdiscipline. ;)

as recompense for the patient fotoshooting at the castle we went get delicious icecream from the best Icecreambar at the world – Eis Heise in Brunsen –
Bye mum , if the Icecream don´t wanna melt, I`ll bring something on my way back home..

Yesterday I couldn´t sleep long as usual, the alarm clock started  work at six in the morning, uuaahhhh.

We accompany hostdad to fetch his new car. B) We start our trip by train, but it was to  foggy to enjoy the Landscape ...

after changing the train 3 times, we are on our destination in the south-west of Germany.  :cyclops:

We where realy nosey for the car, but much more agitated to make the first ride.Fortunately the car-designer had a heart for TV´s and created a seat in a box for us plush toys and it was a thrilling journey, passing towns like Mainz, Frankfurt and Kassel

Sometimes we had to trim the car in the turn….. ;)

nice trip and a nice car  :D

Hi mom,

Today we fit the Garden by harvesting  graps. This was an adventure..... :stare:

Hostdad provided us a huge ladder to reach the best grapes (can you tell me why the highest are the sweetest?)

We made a perfekt teamwork to fill the buckets. Dr. Kröbner, Sruffy and Spikeys  job was to pick the grapes

*Coco* controlling the degree of ripeness,

Mr. Lemony checked the sugar content  ;)

I played hide and seek between the leaves and looked at the decorations in the garden....autumn is coming ...

Mr. Casanova arranged the decoration for the harvest ceremony

and Mr. Shaun supervised as usual out from his deck chair

bevor starting the grape celebration, I had a little bit fun in on the garden pond

a flower for you mummy  :D

Hi mum,

today is Sunday and Sunday is a nice day, so we take a walk into the nature. At first we pass the old churchyard with an old iron fence, very suitable to take pretty pictures.

behind the outskirts of town stands lots of hedges and bushes with flowers and smal blue berrys, also good for pictures…

near the open fields we find much more blooming flowers…. at the beginnig of autumn!

after we climb the hill we reach the forest, time for a final group photo before hostmuns battery of the camera brake down. Sorry, but you have to imagine the great lookout to hostmums village… maybe we repeat the hike for new photos.

Mr. Lemony realized an lifemisson: he baked a lemoncake and we  helped him.

first he held a dissertation about making a Lemoncake, it was quiet boring.

then he put flour into the large bowl,

Dr. Kröbner filled in a cup of cream.

Further Scruffy´s challenge was to add some eggs into the bowl.

STOP Scruffy!!!
was Mr. Lemony´s recitaion to drowsy? You have to strike the eggs and displace the eggshell. Let hostmum show us. Ups here it comes with a push.

To stir is a hard job and Mr. Lemony would do it by himself without any help.

upps... :cyclops:

While Mr. Lemony get into sweat, *coco*and Mr. Casanova fetched the baking pan, an athletic performance.... ;)

Half an hour later, after Mr. Lemony finished stiring, we had to fill up the dough, put it into the oven, I set Bambi on count down and wait…

looking for the eveningprogramm and wait…..

making yoga and wait. …

reading a book and wait…

sleeping and wait… B)

relaxing in the bathroom and wait....

laying the table and  wait…

and a percevied fortnight later suddenly it was ready!

garnished with suggar on the top, a cake and a proud Mr.Lemony

Hmmmm taste good, very yummmmmy

Hello at home,

yesterday was German Unification Day and a warm and sunny breeze invited us to promenade between colorful leaves of autumn.

the old elementary school in Delligsen, build by the legendary architect Walter Gropius,

at the branches of a downy Japanese maple someone fixed a swing. After some gymnastik performences we managed to enter and tried it.

below an old huge chestnut tree we collected a basket full of  big brown conker.

To carry all the brown marbles makes very thirsty so I had to fresh up a little bit at the spring  ;)

First time I was realy disapointed. But when we reached the little red wooden house my sorrow was gone.

The weather on our first vacationday was realy poor: Wet with stormy wind…brrrrrr.

a short break with yummy cake

day by day it gets warmer with more sunny hours and we get more lazy from day to day.

During the week we made a trip to Grömitz,

myBoshi is passion. A passion for unique caps. Because there is only one Boshi.
Discovered by a fortunate coincidence in faraway Japan. Further developed and perfected.
Brought across the sea to the West and distributed among the people: the hand-crocheted hats by myBoshi.
The Herald of Truth called Felix Rohland and Thomas Jaenisch. You steadfastly believe in the goodness of Boshi.

Hello mum,

today I take part of a fairy tale! I had to relieve a princess from the lordship of an evil monarch. He had captured and locked her in the great tower of his castle. *coco, Mr. Casanova and me fought our way through a deep forest toward the hill, where the palace stands. It was an exhaustig challenge and just as we reached the castle wall Hostmum click one´s fingers and shouted “Wake up guys, this is not a fair tale"! :cyclops: Its reality! It´s just the castle of the royal Dynastie Hannover! It’s the home of Ernst August!!!”…. What a pity…. We where so proud to rescue a real princess in a award of a kiss……  After the awake we take a sight seeing tour into the yard . it´s a realy nice castle…. However it was  an absolutly lovely daydream

This is the HQ for the Snowdon Mountain Railway. No trains run in the off-season.
The Snowdon Mountain Railway is a Rack and Pinion railway.
This is the main street. All looks OK but...
This time last week, it was flooded. A very rare event for this village.

Another game was played by other players - 1812 - The Invasion of Canada

And it was her character who killed the baddie and won the game
Next, we played The Resistance, a game where you are either a resistance member or a spy.
My host was a spy in all the games of this we played (at least half a dozen)!

Hello mommy!

Right now I'm in the Mediterranean Sea to going to Tanger, Morocco, Africa!
Isn't it this view and the big Sun looking beautiful?    :)

There it is! There is the Africa! Look the horizon!

Look, the national flag of Morocco!  :D

Mommy, I'm in the city of Tanger. Great!

We had a guided walking tour in the old city of Tanger.
This old part of Tanger city has buildt in the 14th century.
And I met there many local people in the street.
They were friendly, but some of them looked poor.
The streets are narrow, and the buildings are just next to each others.
But there's many very beautiful details in windows and doors.
Well, just take a look my pictures, and you will see more...

On the back of the next pictures there's the harbour of Tanger city.

And mommy, there's the big ocean: The North Atlantic Ocean!!!  :D

Two street cats came to see what we were doing in there. I said hello to them!  :)

In the next pictures you can see local people and their works.

We visited some local shops, too.

We went to the local popular restaurant to eat something.
The hole restaurant was very beatifully decorated, and there were
some musicians to playing live music. It was fun.
I don't know exactly what the food was, but there were some kind of soap for starters.
After that was two grilled meat sticks.
Then we got the main dish: rice and chicken with some kind of vegetables.
And for dessert some kind of sweet pasties, and green tea.  :p

After eating I met a cameln baby!!!  :D

Then we visited inside of the big cave in the beach.

From the cave there's the straight view to the North Atlantic Ocean!  :o

And there's more pictures of this great ocean. :)

And there's Spain in the horizon! :)

It was really lovely and exiting day!
In the evening we came back to Spain, and our hotel.
