Hi everyone!
I took part in the 90th anniversary of Girl Scouting Japan camp, at the Togakushi Girl Scout Centre. It was in such a beautiful place! There were mountains all around and we had a really big tent, but we still managed to get it messy! I took part in the international day, looking after the UK booth! Here it is: Two members of the Japanese Imperial Family came to look round, and Princess Kiko actually said that I was very cute! (Cute in Japanese is 'kawaii,' I heard it a lot ) Unfortunately it is taboo to take photos of the Imperial family so my moment of greatness cannot be shown The camp was five days and really tiring, me and Rebecca looked forward to the 6 hour bus journey after it so we could sleep! See ya, Peachy Chai |

Hi again!
After the camp in Nagano we went to TOKYO!!! It is such an amazing city >.< Look at the groovy youth hostel we stayed in: We spent a day and a bit in Ueno Park, it has a lake, temples and shrines, lots of museums and even a zoo! One of the museums was Tokyo National Museum, it was really interesting to look around. My favourite thing was this red laquuer box. (We couldn't use flash so the photos aren't very clear ) I also saw an egyptian mummy, wow! I think it was a girl, but you couldn't really tell! We also went to Harajuku on this day, but I didn't like it very much I was worried I would get lost because it was very busy so I only peeped out the edge of Becca's bag! *Yawn!* It was all lots of fun but very tiring! See you soon, Peachy Chai <3 |

Our last day in Tokyo!
Today we went on a boat trip so see lots of Tokyo sights. It was fun and a really good way to look around: not too tiring! Here's a flood gate, they had lots of them because if it flooded so many houses would be ruined! I like this one because it is such a cool colour I also ate the best thing ever today..... 'Matcha (green tea to you and me) Cheese Tart'..... it was so good! But no one believed me or Rebecca .... oh well their loss! Next stop, England (via Dubai ) xxxx Peachy Chai |

Back in England!
Phewf, after another 24 hours travelling, we ended up back in England.... it was raining as we arrived! Next week I'm going to visit RikeH, or so Rebecca has told me! I'm really looking forward to visiting Germany, I've never been there and neither has Becca so she doesn't know what to tell me about it! See you all in Germany! xxx Peachy Chai PS wish me luck, I'm not used to travelling in parcels, I'm a bit nervous! |

Hello Mum,
I went to Hamburg with RikeH today. She had to work, but promised to show me a nice place in the city in the lunchtime. We went around the nice Lake Alster. There is a fountain in the middle. There were swans... ... and a colorful carrousel. This is the flag of Hamburg - and in the background a very expensive hotel. Another view of the Alster Lake. We crossed the road and saw the Townhall and other nice buildings on the other side. What a nice trip! Love Peachy Chai |

Hi Mum,
we went to a small city today - it is called Bad Oldesloe - and RikeH went to school there - years ago... First we went to a nice river. Here I stood in front of the Townhall. This is the church near to the city centre. There are many nice old houses. And I really loved this view. Dicker Kumpel told me that the water wheel normally moves - but not today. Many greetings Peachy Chai |

Hello again,
today we went to a Park with many animals. This beech marten looked so nice, but RikeH told me that they sometimes live in the houses of the humans, and the humans don't really like it. The wild boars were really funny. I saw a wonderful roe. Maybe you cannot see them so well, but there were many storks. I talked with this friendly sheep. After the long walk we all relaxed on this monument. Bye Peachy Chai |

Hi Mum,
it was time to explore Sülfeld today. First I went to the nice old Church. This is the old school. The mayor works here. I loved this old door. Later we went to a nice little lake. And we enjoyed the sun. Love Peachy Chai |

Hello again,
We went to a small town called Malchow. This is the view to the Malchow Lake. We had nice sunshine. I had a nice cup of coffee and a delicious cake. This is the town's landmark - a church. And this is the view back to the city. The townhall... ... and another view of the church. One of my missions is to be photographed with a car the same color as me, I found a nice one - but it has only green dots. Back to the hotel - we went through the garden of the hotel. You can see the hotel in the background. There is a nice small Pavillon in the garden. This is the view of the garden from our balcony. Really nice! We relaxed in the sun and talked about our adventures in Malchow. Yours Peachy Chai |

Ahoi from the MS Stadt Malchow,
We made a trip on a boat to another town, called Waren. Our trip lasted two hours. This is the Müritz - the biggest Lake of Germany, that only belongs to Germany. Far away you can see Waren. I talked with this friendly wooden guy. This is a photo of our boat. Views from the biggest place in Waren. A really wonderful church. The inner Harbour. We started with a wooden guy - at the end of our trip we met this colorful man - he told me great stories. What a wonderful day! Love Peachy Chai |

Hello Mum,
Today we went back home and stopped in a town called Wismar. This is the centre of the old town is the huge Market Place, the largest in Germany (10,000 square metres). The square's focal point is the Wasserkunst, an elaborate wrought-iron fountain imported from Holland in 1602. The northern side of the square is occupied by the Town Hall, built in neoclassical style in 1817–1819. Another notable building in the square is an ancient Gothic warehouse called Alter Schwede (The Old Swede), erected around 1380. The 80 m high tower church of St Mary (Marienkirche) is the only remainder of the original Brick Gothic edifice, built in the first half of the 13th century. It suffered heavy damage in World War II, and was deliberately destroyed in 1960 under the East German Communist government. Then we went to the old port. In the background you can see the Water Gate. And here is a view of the harbour. I walked over a bridge with 4 pigs on it - I loved this funny one most. Bernd the Bread is really famous in Germany. He is a TV-Star. Back home we saw one of his shows in the TV. I am proud to be his friend. Love Peachy Chai |

Hello Mum,
It is my last day here in Sülfeld. I said goodbye to Dicker Kumpel. He was such a great host! Three of the others TVs will leave today too. Bernd and Timothy can stay longer. We all gave us a big hug… … stood together and talked all night long. I will miss Dicker Kumpel, RikeH and the others – but now I am ready for a new host in the same country. Annett in Germany – I am coming! Yours Peachy |

Dear Mommy!
I arrived at the second host in Germany. Because the host was on holidays last week together with Red Navel I had to wait in the dark envelope on her doorstep Well, I was released from my travel box yesterday and now I am looking forward to some nice weeks here in Thuringia - the green heart of Germany. See you! |

Dear mommy!
The last days I took the chance to get to know my surroundings. I met the house cat 'Pünktchen' - a real cuty! Her name means 'dotty' since she has these little black dots on her nose. I also met the other TV which stays with my host at the moment. His name is Red Navel and he is from Russia. He has been here for a while and has already seen many places. He also went to GB last week! We often sit together and have a chat. Well, what else? Usual days here. We went shopping at a local super market. And... I bought a postcard for you which I also wrote today and hopefully you will soon get the message! My host is an avid postcrosser too and she helped me write the card. See you! |

Ah, well, weather here is brilliant, a nice autumn day so we spent some time this morning in the garden to continue building the garden shed.
Now it is soon time for lunch. I have already helped preparing it. Yummy! The other day I said Goodbye to Red Navel as he is travelling on. So I am alone here now. But not for long, there is a new TV arriving soon: Owen. I am looking forward to his visit. See you! |

Dear Mommy!
Yesterday was a brilliant sunny autumn day and we took some time to take a stroll through the village. We went to the train station where there is a lot of construction work going on. They are building a subway. I also saw the village church and the village hall. There are even some small shops in the village: And last but not least the war memorial. We had a nice afternoon! |

I said a hello to him and then we had a look in his travel journal. |

Well, days here are not too exciting because my host has to work and then when she returns home at 4:30 pm it is already getting dark outside.
So we spend a lot of time inside and enjoy our time with postcrossing or swap-bot. Today we received these wonderful christmas calendar packages from a swapper at swap-bot: And today we also had this Finnish chocolate in the mail from a penfriend: And we wrote a lot of cards to postcrossers all over the world: See you! |

Dear Mommy!
Soon it is Christmas and that is why we started baking cookies on Friday. We made four different kinds today: 'forgotten cookies', Vanillekipferl, Sahne-Krokant and butter cookies. First we went shopping for all the ingidients which are here on the table now. Then we have to read the recipe: Here we are preparing the dough. Then we have to cut the cookies.... and into the oven. Let's check: The first result. Owen helped me with all the work. The next dough has to stay in the fridge for an hour. We can use the time to prepare the third kind of cookies, the caramel ones. And into the oven once again: This is the dough for the 'forgotten cookies'. They are called like this because you leave them in the oven overnight. That is why I have to post a pic of these cookies later. But here is the final result of the other: Wish you could try, mommy! |

Dear Mommy!
Last week was pretty busy. First we went to Berlin for the weekend. We did not do any sightseeing because we went there for a b-day party... and we took the time for shopping. Here is at least a pic of the shopping centre we went to: It got really cold and winter like here. It snowed! Look at the white landscape: We also decorated the house for Christmas. Let's take you on a tour: At night we light the ornaments in the windows. We also hung the christmas calendar we got from a friend a swap-bot. Only one more day before we can open the first package. I am so curious! Yesterday we went to the Christmas market in Gotha. All over the place and market square you could find stalls and christmas decoration. This is the town hall in Gotha with the Christmas pyramid in front. And we went to Mongolia... oh no, of course not! This is a mongolian yurt next to the Chinese restaurant we went for lunch. And here is one last picture of the cloister in Gotha. See you next week! |

Hello from cold and snowy Thuringia!
It has gotten really cold here. This morning we had -15°C. Freezing cold. But the countryside still looks great covered in snow. This morning we took some time to bake for Xmas again. This time we tried Xmas cake. We put the dough in glasses to keep the caks longer and so that we can give them away as presents. And into the oven. Ready and done. We also baked these little fellows - Xmas bears |

Dear mommy,
It has been snowing for the last week. We went to Oberhof, THE ski resort in Thuriniga, to take a walk in the snow. Here are some pictures of our care drive to Oberhof through the snowy forest. Owen came with us too. |

We went to a Christmas party yesterday.
So we packed the presents first. It is a surprise party, so the other's won't know who gave them their present! We had a lovely meal at the restaurant: roast vension |

Today my host had to sing at a Christmas market in Gotha, so I went along.
We first practiced in a building nearby where they keep the plants from the cold. It was funny to sing Christmas songs between orange and palm trees |

Dear mommy,
I am on my way to Russia. I will write when I arrived! CU! |
kristl Posted Jan 24, 2011, 4:25 pm |
Hi mommy, I'm happy to tell you that I've finally arrived to Moscow. Many thanks to my previous host - she gave me a very comfortable envelope so it was not so difficult to travel that long. Right now I'm in Kristl's car going home from the post office. It is 7:30pm here, cold, snowy and very dark. I've already got 2 photos of me but since we have no laptop here, only iPhone, I'll be able to show them as soon as find a way to do this))) kristl also asked me to thak my previous host for the lovely card she got.
Update! Here am I heading to my host's home: Untitled by Kristl Fleed, on Flickr Peachy chai's first day in Moscow by Kristl Fleed, on Flickr |

I was happy to learn that Kristl makes some tea in her tumbler every morning to take with her and drink on the way to her office. Sure I helped her with it!
Untitled by Kristl Fleed, on Flickr Having our tea we went to Kristl's office. The road came throught the forest and it was beautiful. Untitled by Kristl Fleed, on Flickr Btw I learned that many of the government live somewhere on this road. My host says it is bad cause they allways stop all the traffic when the President or the Premier Minister needs to drive somewhere. |

Wow! Today Kristl took me to St. Petersburg - the second largest city in Russia We went there for a day - Kristl wanted to meet her sister and friends. We got there by train and it took us the whole night (8 hours). And we got home with a very fast train Sapsan and it took us only 4 hours!
Here I am in a bar We went to a bar at noon And after that we went to the exhibition of Sven Nordkvist's illustrations. Look at them, they're wonderful: And we also visited a chinese restaurant! And I tasted a very special green tea thet looked like a flower: |
