Hello Mummy,
I arrived in Remscheid today. My journey did not last too long, although I had to travel by ship or train. Now I'm waiting to go outside. Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mummy,
today we finally took a short walk through the city centre. Katja is working close to the city hall. So this was the first reason to take a photo. We went to the shopping street than. Here you can see a sculpture showing two large forceps. In Remscheid tools are produced since the middle ages, so the forceps are a symbol for the tool producing industry here. Here I am in front of the shopping mall. The large fountain is still covered, it will be until there will be definitely no more frost in the night. The next two photos were taken in the vicinity of my current home. In this part of the city you can find mostly old houses which survived World War II. You can often find half-timbered houses or those wich are covered with slate here. They usually have green shutters, it is a very special "green", it is called "Bergisch Green". (This region here is called Bergisches Land). That was enough sightseeing for today Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mummy,
we are celebrating a really important commemoration day today: The Day of German Beer. Since 1984 the issuance of the "Reinheitsgebot" (German Beer Purity Law) is celebrated by the German brewers. We also did Cheers! Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mummy,
we took a walk today in the suburbs of Remscheid. We started in Remsched-Hasten, which is one of the oldest districts in the municipal area. In Hasten you can find lots of pretty old houses. They are often half-timbered houses or covered with slate. Usually they have green shutters. This is the creek "Morsbach", this valley is named after this creeek. I saw a running water wheel here. Several creeks are running through this valley. This one is dammed to a fish pond here. We walked uphil through a shady forest than. The shady forest changed into a sunny forest ... From here you had a good look at the city centre in the distance. You can see the tower of the city hall and the water tower from here. We walked along a small hamlet. That was a really long walk, more than two hours. Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mummy,
we had to buy a few things in our lunch break, so went into the city centre. This is a nice home decoration and flower store. The chair in front of the house is about 4 m high! Pink blooming trees everywhere ! This is the public library. This is a nice beer garden, but unfortunately it is not opened yet. In front of the shopping mall 16 trees are planted with an stone pillar in front of each tree. The pillars are showing the coats of arms of the 16 German states. This one is showing the coat of arms of North Rhine-Westphalia, the state where I'm staying at the moment. We went into the shopping mall than. You can buy home decoration, dishes, glasses and other stuff here in those shops. Time to go back to work now. Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mummy,
Katja's parents visited us today. Katja told about us ToyVoyagers. She also mentioned that I would like to make a boat trip because her parents will go on vacation to one of the East Frisian Island, to Juist, this weekend. You can only get there by ferry or plane - no cars are allowed on the island. I'll go with Katja's parents to Juist on Sunday I will stay with them for a few days and then they will send me back to Katja. So you will have to wait for news for a few days. See you soon Paddington Bear |

olgamaus Posted May 10, 2010, 11:37 am |
Hi Mummy,
we are waiting for the ferry which will take us to Juist. Do you know where Juist is? It is a really small island in the district Aurich in the German State Lower Saxony. You can see it here on this map: The island is 17 km long and - depending on the level of tide - only 500 m wide. The island is situated about 13 km beeline apart from the mainland. The ferry will take a large curve to get to Juist. The passage with the ferry will last about 90 minutes. I am a little bit nervous because this is my first boat trip. I hope I won't need a barf bag. |

Hi Mum,
we are on the ferry now, leaving Norddeich harbour. Hey, I'll fulfill one of my life missions now It's windy here on board, I'm glad to wear my hat. I'm really enjoying the trip - I don't need a barf bag. Land in sight! Soon we will have reached Juist. Bye Paddington Bear |

olgamaus Posted May 10, 2010, 12:13 pm |
Hi Mummy,
we took a long walk on the island today. You can see a lot of green here I rested here, enjoying the sunshine. Here you can see more green, some houses and the lighthouse. The sea mark is the new landmark of the harbour. What a nice place to enjoy the sun! Oh, it looks like falling tide. All the water left. This sign is welcoming the visitors to Juist. Can you spot me? Finally we went to the beach. It is rather cold here, only 5 °C, that's why nobody is sitting in the strandkorbs. (Hey, they are using the German word in England!) I found an interesting piece of artwork than, consisting of four columns with a bronze statue of a man, running into the sea. He is already having wet feet here.... ... a wet bottom ... ... from here he will have to swim. Oouch! The ilex is pricking me! Tomorrow I will travel back to Katja. I really enjoyed my short trip to the North Sea. I'll write a postcard to you Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mummy,
I met Katja's pets today. I was already wondering where the cat is. Here is a scratching post and a scratching ton, a litter pan, but no cat. This is ferret lady Brighty. I told her to turn around and look into the camera, but she kept on nosing at my paw. This is Shiva, Brighty's sister. Both are really cute, but extremely playful. They are running around, chasing each other, climbing into drawers, onto the sofa, underneath the blanket on the sofa - they are EVERYWHERE. I like them Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mummy,
we took a walk today in the neighbour city Solingen, in the valley and hills of the river Wupper. We started our trip in Solingen-Widdert. From here we walked downhill to reach the Wupper valley. In those rural districts you can often find the traditional old houses, called "Bergische Häuser". This is the river Wupper. About 20 km from here the Wupper will flow into river Rhine close to Leverkusen. We followed our path uphill until we were about 120 m above the valley. You have great overlook from here. We walked through the forest, over hill and dale. Sometimes we had to cross smaller creeks. We took a group photograph ... ... at the foot of this impressive rock. We had to cross another creek. This is the bridge that was once leading across it. We had to balance over a few stones instead. Finally we reached the river Wupper again. We walked through a hamlet with lots of pretty old houses. One of the local farmers is selling potatoes, eggs and honey here in this booth. Nobody is watching over the goods here, you can take what you want to buy and put the money into the savings box. We bought potatoes and eggs. Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mummy,
we went to Remscheid- Lennep today. Lennep is the oldest district of the municipal area, with own municipal law since the 1260's years. This district belongs to Remscheid as part of the city since 1929 A.D. Lennep still has its medieval city core. Many of the old houses are under monument protection. This the the place where the farmer's markt is held twice a week. Some of the old lanes are really narrow. This is the "Roentgen-Museum". Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen, the founder of the x-rays, was born in Lennep in 1845 A.D. This is the school which Katja attended until 1982. Here you can see another school building next to it, a former agricultural school. Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mummy,
we took a walk in the city in Katja's lunch break. She told us that we would know the whole surroundings of Remscheid, but not the city itself. The first photo was taken in a street close to my current home. All around are pretty old houses. Here are allotment gardens. Katja told us that you can find lots of allotment gardens here because Remscheid is situated on a hill with really steep slopes. You cannot build houses everywhere, but it's great for gardens. In the background you can see Wuppertal. We reached a housing area, a former working-class quarter. Some of the houses are really small. This is a German telephone booth. Errr ... there is no booth, only a pink coloured telephone. Here is the entrance to another large allotment area. All around it is greeeeeeen! Back in the city centre ... the city hall in the background. In 30 minutes we'll have to return to Katja's workplace. This is the water tower. The drinking water is pumped uphill from a dam in a valley. You can see the towers of the city hall and this water tower from everywhere around. Than let's go back to work. Bye Paddington Bear |

olgamaus Posted May 21, 2010, 6:29 pm |
Hi Mummy,
the sun was shining, so we could not wait to go out. We took a walk in the early evening, of course in the forest The first photo was taken in Hasten, I have been here before to admire all those pretty houses. We picked up Katja's friend Erika and walked along Morsbachtal. We saw a flock of sheep, they had a lot of recently born lambs. What a lovely surrounding! We crossed the road which follows the valley. Soon we reached another forest. Finally we took the bus back home. Can you see the two towers in the background? They are really small, the city hall and the water tower. We would have had to walk uphill for at least another 40 minutes, so the bus was a good idea. Bye Paddington Bear |

olgamaus Posted May 21, 2010, 6:38 pm |
Hi Mummy,
today it's my last day here in Germany. We took the last photos in the city centre. Here you can see the city hall. There is a wedding party in front of the main entrance. The marriage ceremony is usually taking place in a special room in the city halls in Germany. We are standing on the market place, the farmer market is taking place here on Wednesday and Saturday. There is a pillar on the place, showing a lion, the heraldic animal of Remscheid. You can find a restaurant in the basement of nearly every city hall in Germany - it is usually called "Ratskeller". Katja's daughter Alex is working here as a cook. She has to learn this profession for three and a half year. In August she will have learned for already two years. Oh, my flap is askew. We were almost home than. |

olgamaus Posted May 21, 2010, 6:45 pm |
Two surprises were waiting for us at home. Two ToyVoyagers arrived, Bart and Squirt.
The second surprise was a package from Squirt's Mummy with sweets from Japan, two panda bears which were adopted by Katja and egg shapers. I have never seen egg shapers before. Then it was time to say goodbye to all my friends here. Bernd the Bread is also leaving today. I took some sweets for my next host with me but maybe I will eat them if the journey should last too long. So I'm off to Croatia now! Bye Paddington Bear |

Hi Mom! Surprise! I have already arrived in NYC!
This was the fastest trip ever. My host seems really nice. We ate the candy I brought with me and she was delighted by all the fun and unexpected shapes it came in. I will take a few days to recuperate from my trip and will go out to explore the city. Talk to you soon |

Hello,
I've spent the last few weeks helping my host work on her design projects. More about this later, first I want show you photos from an outing we had in November. I got to go to the Metropolitan Museum of art! We will probably go back again during my host's winter break, it's one of her favorite places in the city. This is me in front of the museum and the fountain. It's a very large building and the museum has a bit of everything in it from furniture to paintings of various time periods to armor. We also took a short walk in the Central Park before meeting one of my host's friends for lunch. For now I've been working very hard helping my host make hats and handbags (end even shoes!). My host says that I am a very snazzy dresser, with my hat and luggage and all It's been a lot of fun seeing how things everything is made from simple sketches into actual objects, but it's making both of us tired and we can't wait for the winter break in two weeks. Then we'll put up the christmas tree and wrap gifts and get to go out a lot and see how beautiful New York is during the holiday season when everything is decorated and covered with lights. |

Hello!
I had a wonderful time today. I was going to go out last week, but there was a huge snow storm and we got snowed in. The subway train next to my host's house didn't run for four days. The snow is still on the ground, but it's melting and the roads are very icy. We did have a nice time celebrating Christmas and the New Year at home, I'll show you photos of the Christmas tree I helped decorate later. Oh, there are two other TVs staying here, Luke and Bumba, they are really nice. We went to the Guggenheim museum today. Cameras aren't allowed inside, but my friends and I got see the show with a tour guide. We went for a walk at Central Park after the tour. This is a view of the museum from the park. We walked over to the Belvedere Castle next to Turtle Pond. It's one of my host's favorite places and I can see why, the view is amazing. The pond usually has very large turtles living in it, but it is completely frozen right now. The area behind the castle is modeled to look like a forest. There are hills, narrow paths and stones. The paths were really icy and we had to be extra careful when walking around. This is the Bethesda Fountain (with the Angel of Waters sculpture on top of it) and Terrace. You can go boat-riding on the lake in the background during spring and summer months. After the park we walked over to Rockefeller Square to see the Christmas tree. It's Huge I can't believe that it's a real tree. the star on top is Swarovski crystal. I think that NY is amazing and I can't wait to see more. I'll write more soon. Love, Paddington. |

Hello Mum,
I arrived safe in Sülfeld. But sadly a little late to go on the holiday with RikeH and Dicker Kumpel. But I heard other voices outside of my envelope and decided to climb out of it. Two other TVs arrived, too, and jumped out of their envelopes - just as I did. In the house were a lovely old lady - she took us on a walk through Sülfeld, because the weather was so nice. Here you see Archimonde, Gracy and me in front of the old school. Look, this is the place, where the mayor works - and the emblem of Sülfeld. The house has a nice old door. I relaxed in the sun, next to a little lake. The old church of Sülfeld is really beautiful. On the other side of the street is the old pharmacy. This was a nice walk. Many greetings Paddington Bear |

Hi Mum,
it is a sunny Sunday today. We enjoyed the sun and waited for our hosts to come home. And here they come - Dicker Kumpel and his guest Inuk - RikeH is behind the camera... Dicker Kumpel apologized for not being here when we arrived - but no problem, the mail system worked slowly. We talked a lot about the last days. There were many beautiful flowers in the garden - I wanted to show you some of it. They are really nice, aren't they? RikeH told me that it is good to have the Springtime now. Later we went into the house and sat on our place. Dicker Kumpel and his guests have an own big armchair. Suddenly we heart someone laughing. A yellow guy looked around the corner. Dicker Kumpel and Inuk met him in Zingst. He heard about the life of ToyVoyagers and wants to become one, too. Well, we will see - he had to talk to RikeH about it... Next week we will visit a really big city called Hamburg - Dicker Kumpel told us, that it is a great place to see. Love Paddington Bear |
||
RikeH Posted Mar 27, 2011, 6:18 pm |
Hello Mum,
we went to Hamburg today. Behind me you can see the Gothic Revival Church of St. Nicholas. It was formerly one of the five Lutheran main churches in Hamburg. It is now in ruins, serving as a memorial. We went there because a colleague of RikeH told us, that there is an elevater, who can take us to a 75,3 metre-high platform inside the spire. Of course we tried it out. And here you see the view – it was amazing. You can see the Townhall and the Lake Alster behind me. This was the view to the old warehouse destrict of Hamburg – there are many nice old buildings. The next direction is to the Port of Hamburg. I would love to start a cruise from there, Mum. It was nice on the platform, but very windy and RikeH was afraid of loosing us, so we went down to the ground. Here you see all of us together. Can you imagine – I was there on the tower!!! It was amazing. Love Paddington Bear |

Hi Mum,
RikeH told me that she had a surprise for me. I was very curious - she told something about life missions... Look - we started our trip with a train. This was inside the train - a nice train, I think. I looked out of the window - first it was nature outside... ...later we were in the city. This is the central library of Hamburg. Well, we are not sure, if this was enough for my first life mission - I cannot remember, if the train has to be in London??? Please let us know, Mum. I was happy to drive with the train, but RikeH had another surprise for me. We met two other ToyVoyagers in the city - TobiHH - and LewisHH - LewisHH is a TV-Bear, too. I was so glad to meet him. TobiHH and RikeH talked a lot - he just came back from a holiday in England. So LewisHH and I made some sightseeing. This is the Lake Binnenalster. Behind us you see the townhall. Another nice view. This was the townhall from the other side. Then I said goodbye to LewisHH, it was nice to meet another Bear. I just took two other photos of the Townhall. On the way back TobiHH and I met Dicker Kumpel, who did some Shopping in Hamburg. We had some delicious Hamburgers. Then something funny happened - LewisHH came out of the bag of RikeH. He decided to stay some days with us - so we can have a lot of fun together. We offered him a Hamburger, but it was really small for him. Fortunately RikeH shared her Dinner with LewisHH. So we all had enough. I will write more soon. Love Paddington Bear |

Hi Mum,
we went to Bad Oldesloe. This is a small town near to Sülfeld. When we went into the city centre we crossed a bridge and saw this nice little river. This is the Townhall. It is much smaller than the one in Hamburg. There are many nice old buildings. We saw the river again - there were some ducks, I told them about the life of a ToyVoyager, but they were not interested in coming with us. Two other beautiful views - it was a nice place - I understand why the ducks live here. Many Greetings Paddington Bear |

Hi Mum,
we went to Hamburg to see the Lake Alster. I already have been there – but wanted to see more. Here we are on the way in the train. We saw ducks in Bad Oldesloe – well – they live here in the city, too. This is the view over the Lake Binnenalster. This big white building behind me is the Four Seasons Hotel of Hamburg. We went onto the Lombards-Bridge to see more of the Lake. Well, we walked around the Lake – this is the other side – and you can see the Bridge – far away. The little boats are for boat trips on the Alster. I met LewisHH here – can you remember it, Mum? Back to work we passed this Theater. What a nice day. Yours Paddington Bear |

we went to the Baltic Sea - to a place called Travemünde. The weather was really nice in the morning. We walked along the beach. There were beautiful buildings. We had a delicious dinner in this funny chair. Later the weather was a little cloudy, but no problem for a ToyVoyager. This is the oldest lighthouse of Germany, but it was not open. Behind me is a big hotel, we should spend some time here, Mum. Look - this is the photo of the afternoon - it was so windy! The trainstation of Travemünde is funny, on the tower you can see, when the next train to Lübeck will leave. At home we had delicious muffins. Bye Paddington Bear |

We went to Hamburg again to see the Port. First we had a look at the new building of a philharmonics. And I saw a very big ship on the Elbe River. This is the Cap San Diego - it is a museum now. Behind me you see another museum-ship – it is a sailing ship – the Rickmer Rickmers. These are little boats which pull the big ships. This is a nicer view of the Rickmer Rickmers. This monument is a thank you for the crew of the ship Cap Anamur. They helped many Vietnamese people. I really liked the Port of Hamburg. Many greetings Paddington Bear |

Hi Mum,
Happy Easter!!! Today it is Easter and I met the Easter bunny. He told me that I should seek for some surprises. But first I talked with some other funny guys hanging around here. Then it was time to seek for some nice things. I found something... ...it is an Easter net, as they say here in Germany. It was a difficult search, so I asked Long Hippo to help me. He gave me a hint. There is a bunny with an egg in his bucket. It is for me! The bunny told me that there will be one more surprise outside. So I went out and found a bunny out of chocolate! What a lot of presents for me! When I sat there, some chicken came. They were so cute! I really hope that you have a great Easter weekend, too, Mum! Love Paddington Bear |

First we saw wonderful rhododendrons. There were many. It was the time of the tulips, so we saw a lot of in different colors. There was a funny exhibition of chicken. They were created by different Countrywomen's Associations. I loved this view. Love Paddington Bear |

Hello mummy!
I have not updated for ages, but it is Maria`s fault, she was too busy to switch-on her computer. I saw Russian main Cathedral:
There is a beautiful bridge in front of the Cathedral. It is the bridge of people who just married, they come here and put locks on special iron trees. You can see one of them. And i want to show you one metro station, hope not the last. |

From Maria`s office we went for a walk.
It was just small park, which we have crossed very fast, our disscussion was so interesting that we didn`t notice how found ourselves in small random cafe. Not bad day! By the way - second photo shows you the most common communistic monument to the soviet worker. Near it you can see white-blue inscription which means 'Goods', such ones are not used in modern Moscow, but here it is stil in use! |

My first photo shows you that I was able to climb at Tower of Erice-Chiesa-Madre. View is marvelous but I was afraid to fall down. Erice is a town of narrow streets and churches, I supose we visited them all! And I made a photo of myself in cog railway. |

I know, that I didn't write a long time. But now It's time to do it. I arrived safetly in Öhringen. Someone opened my envelope and bevore I can come out some others put their noses inside. The first distance I crawl slowly outside. And than the last one I jumped out to spook the others. Because they are so nearly at the envelope they can't run away, they fell. First they were a little scared about me. But when I come out and say hello and introduce me, they began to laugh and also saied their names. From left to right: Amalthea, HolgiHH, Ele and Hanni they are TVs like me. That's cool! Isn't it? They also have a welcome sign for me an other plushes stand there. But now I must go. Zandy must go to work. You will hear from me soon. Bye Yours, Paddington |

Here we are! Born to be kings! We're the princes of the universe! *sing*
Mummy, this evening was sooooooooooo cool. I fell like I were at home, ok nearly. Zandy told us, that we will visit a Tribute Show to Freddie Mercury and Queen. Before the show starts we get a little drink together. And than he came out. Ok, not really him, it was a Freddie double. But he made a good job. We all sang the songs as loud as we could. And at the break Zandy took this picture of me on the stage in front of the drums. My friends were with me on the stage and so we take a group picture. We sing the following song: Friends will be friends! When you're in need of love they give you care and attention! Friends will be friends! When you're through with life and all hope is lost! Hold out your hand cos friends will be friends right till the end! Oh and after the break they played and sing "I want to break free" the inger has a funny costume. At at the end of the show... look mummy... I was so happy. I must think of you and my home. Before we drove home we take this picture in front of the plakat. At home we all were so excited, so we can't slepp and talked a lot and of course we sang some songs from the show. The singer made a good job. Good night mummy! Yours, Paddington |

Hello mummy!
Today we had to say goodbye to Ele and Amalthea. So we had a last long talk together. And than we gave hugs. It was a great time together and so we all were a little bit sad. But this is the destny of a ToyVoager. Than a last look and the best wishes bevore the both leavers climb in their envelopes. Zandy and her boyfriend allowed us to go with them to the post office. And so we saw our both friends the last time. After that Zandy allowed me to throw this postcard in the post box. And than we talk a little walk round the city centre. Here you can see me with the Hamballe. His name means in Hohenlohe that he is an adorable but also a silly human. (Like you see he water flowers when it's raining) Mummy, during the christmas market there are figurs of fairy stories in the whole city. First we meet this green guy. And the devil with some of his friends. Good, that he is only from wood. On the market place there is a crib. Here you can see me and my friends in front of it. Here I'm in front of the Stiftskirche. Sadly the tower wasn't open at the time we were there, so we can't go upstairs. But maybe on another day we can go there. And we visited the atrium of the church. There was a little parcours for children where they can see what they could find in the forrest. I think it's a great idea. We also met Snow White with the dwarfs... ...and a men from home, mummy. Robin Hood. On our way back home we passed the upper gate (Oberes Tor). The last picture showes me in front of the church and the Stiftskirche and a house So mummy, it's time to say goody bye for the moment. Bye yours, Paddington |

Mummy, I'm a globated Paddington at the moment. Zandy want's wo write a travelling notebook with recipes. Or better she will sent the book round the world (ok at the momen only to Austria and Germany, because no other people said, that they want help her. ) So Hanni, HolgiHH and I could help her with the first recipe. We cook it tody: Ervil with Spätzle and sausages (Linsen mit Spätzle und Saitenwürstchen). A real Swabian recipe. I didn't know it, so I was bow-taut how it taste.
First we had to prepair the ingredient. Not much for the Spätzle. But ok. And of course the sausages. They call it "Saitenwürstle" I was able to cook the Ervil. Oh and I could rasp the dought into the water. It was a hot affair. And I looked on the Spätzle. first Zandys boyfriend showed me how the ready Spätzle must look. And than I could fish them out of the water myself. And tatatataaaaaaaaaaaa: What a portion. Sooooooooooooooo big for a little bear like me. Now you know why I'm globated. After eating our dinner. We decided to make some choco-crossis. A very easy job. We three look at the chocolate while it was melting. Than we put the cornflakes inside, mix it a little an make small bunches. But we couldn't eat them at onc e. First the must dry. and thsi was good so. Bye mummy, yours very very very very globated Paddington |

Tomorrow is St. Nicholas day. And Zandy allowed me to take one of her boots and situate it in front of the door. She said maybe Nicholas will bring something. So of course the boot must be clean and I cleaned it. Hanni and HolgiHH get also a boot. An here you can see us in front of them. We all are so excited. Will St. Nicholas really bring something to us? But Zandy said, that we must go to bed now. Otherwise Nicholas won't come. So we jump very fast into our bed. Good night mummy! |

Yeah! The Work yesterday was effective, mummy!
St Nicholas really bring something for us. Early in the morning we waked up and had a look ath the boots. So nice! There was really something for us. I didn't belive, that St Nicholas will bring something, but he did. Some chocolate *yummy* Oh and he brought some more things. Ok, not really he, it was the postmen, he brought two envelopes. Inside we heared some voices, so we opende them and two new TVs came out. We had a little introducing round together. The new visitors are SammyFire and ThomasHH. Mummy Sammy is a bear like me. And he also had a red head (ok it's more orange ) But he is a bear. What do you think? Did I fullfill a live mission? And while Zandy was at work we talk a lot together and eat some sweets, which St Nicholas brought us. Bye bye mummy! Yours Paddington |

Hello mummy!
Do you remeber the picture with the tower last week? Today it was opened and we had the chance to climbed up. But first we went into the castle, becuase there was an exhibition about the history of Öhringen. Sadly it wasn't allowed to take pictures there. But in one room we fastly take this pictures while no supervisory staff was there. *hrhr* And than it was time to climbe up the tower. Here you can see me inside with a model of it. Here it is so little. But really the tower is 56,16 meters high. And it was built in 1494. But we only could climbed up to 32 meters. In the tower are seven stories and the truss. And the rooms inside were two archives, a musician room, the "Verschlooch" (a crate in the Hohenlohisch slang. It was the bedroom for the helper of the steeplejack) and the apartment form the steeplejack. And of course the tower gallery on which we could go outside. But enough facts. We found this lamps in the same room as the model was. Of course we read a little bit and than it was time to go on. On the next floor we saw this clock. And than meter 32 was coming, time to go out. The tower on the left is called "Läutturm" (ringtower?!) with four bells. And on the right, the white tower it's from the St. Josef church. A great view. Isn't it? Of course we also had a look down on the christmas market with all this little humans on it (not only children ) Mummy, can you see the railway above me? Zandy told me, that this one is every year here. You can say it's a tradition. The train was allready there when Zandy was a child. And than oh my dear. We walk around and than what a loud ring across us. We looked upp and saw this bell which makes the noise. Og course we saw the atrium of the Stiftskirche from upstairs. Than sadly it was time to go downstairs. First we must walk on the wooden stairs. It was very comfortable. Much more than the stone stairs. They were so closely. *puh* In one floor we found this mechanism of a clock. We didn't see it when we go up. Very interseting. Oh and than we found one of the archives. It was luck, because there was a jutty on which we must wait while people came up the stairs. Bach down we had to eat a snack to recover. So Zandy suggested us a "Rosenküchle" (rosecacke/cookie). It's name comes therefrom while it looks like a rose. Yummy! On our way back home we cross the little animal zoo in Öhringen. There were really animals outside. Look here you can see me with chicken (I forgot the whole name) And a rabbit And this was my sunday mummy. I hope you enjoy it a little to read about it. Love yours, Paddington |

Hey Mummy! First I will wish you and all the others a merry Christmas. Sadly we had no snow here. But we made a little bit snow. It was fun and I could dream. :-) Please klick on the picture below And than we helped Zandy and her parents to prepair the christmas meal. Zandy's parents are from Poland and so they had a traditional meal from there. They always eat fish (normally carp) and cabbage with peas and they eat potates. For dessert they eat "Makufka". This is poppy cooked with milk and than you give sugar, raisin and bap (or rusk) in it. First we all were a little skeptic and look in the big bowl with the Makufka. And than we taste a little. And it tastes really good. I didn't belive. But it is so. Oh and they always drink strawberrycompot. Than all was prepaired and we eat. After eating we went to the christmastree and look, there where presents for us. Soooooooooooo cool. I found my present. What it could be? Uh ... can you imagine what it is? We made a grouppicture after me and my friends have unpacked the presents. And here you can see my present. Zandy made it for me (she told me, that she isnÄt good in such handicrafts. But the nice touch is the clou. Or?!). A scarf. Maybe now I finished one more of my lifemissions?! I like it. The colour goes with my head. Nice! So mummy, now it's time to go to bed. I wish you a good night! Love yours Paddingotn |

Hi Mummy,
today we suprised SammyFire, we visited a Club, where they collect old Fireengines. Zandys Boyfriend showed us those old Trucks and also a lot of Equipment. We arriverd at the Location. The Sight from the Parking Ground is great. A very beautiful Landscape. Zandys Boyfriend opened a big Door and then we saw the Fire Trucks. We are all exited to this, but i think, SammyFire was the most exited. The Trucks where big, and red, and beautiful. We all sit on the Bumper. I climbed into the Cabin of these Fire Truck and sit on top of the Radio. "puhh" that was exertive" "Alarm!!!!!!!!!!" hurry up, we have to go for a Fire. SammyFire drove us to the Place where the Fire was burning. At first we have to stop the Traffic on the Street. For this we use a Stoppanel. We have to hold it all, because the Wind was very strong at this day. If only one of us hold the Stoppanel this Tv will fly away. Then we arranged our things we need to extinguish the Fire. In these Truck there are many many interressting Things. We needed Hoses, Pipes, distributos, Pumps, and many many more Parts. We also find a Sparetyre in the Truck. I hope this one we dont need. We extinguish the fire with the Watercanon on the Roof of the Truck. Its hard to operate, but very funny. The Water shoot 50 meters. You can harvesting Appels when they hanging on a Tree. "OK, the Exercise is over, very goog job, everyone" I hope you are not worried Mummy, it was just an exercise. Not dangerous. Zandys Boyfriend sayed, we all have done a very good Job. He asked us, if we want to join the Firefighters. Maybe I do. After That we found a very old Waterpump. This was build in 1857. Very nice. We searching for the Engine, but we couldnt find it. If you want to move this Carriage, you need Horses or many other Tv´s We found also a lot of stuff you need if you work as a Firefighter This Mask you need if you go into a burning House wich is full of Smoke. If you wear this on, your Voice sounds funny, like Darth Vader: I am your Father, Luke. Here are the Bottels for the Air that you breath. We just have a look in the Store. There we found old Ladders and hoses. Now is Time to go. We have to prepare Lunch. We are invited by Zandys Parents. We all enjoyed the time with these old Fire Trucks. It was very interesting and Funny. SammyFire was very happy about the Trip and I think he liked it. |

Hello mummy!
Today we visited teh theatre. But not a normal one. It was a boat. Yes, you read right. We go on a boat to watch theatre. How great is that? To watch the show we had to drive to Heilbronn. It's about 30km away from Zandys home. Here you can see me in front of the boat. Or better behind it. And here are my friends and me in front of the Neckarturm (Neckartower) in this tower are some firms and a restaurant. Behind us you can see the theatre-boat and a famous hotel in Heilbronn. Than it was time to go inside. Look which funny guy we met. He was so relaxed. I think I've never saw such a relaxed guy. At the break we watch outside the bull's-eye. Because of the lights it was difficult to take a picture of the few. Look our funny seats. There are build from melted palstic. A funny idea I think. And they are more comfortable like they look. The show was so funny. It was about guys which wanted to help their boss to collect money for his ill daughter. And therefore the guys decided to make a travesty-show. So funny! It's a pitty, that you didn't see it. After the show we went back to the car and take one more picture of me and the boat. Now it's in front. And we also met this VIP. She is the Käthchen from Heilbronn. A famous women there. She was a poor woman and after years they realize that Käthchen was the illegitimate daughter of the emperor. Than she married an earl. She is lovely. Isn't she? Bye mummy! Yours Paddington |

First I have to tell you bed news. Our pictures from our new years eve party are gone. The card on which the pictures were is broken and we couldn't get the pictures back. That's so a pitty. But you can be sure we had a great party. Our first day in the new year was easy, we took a walk around through Neuenstadt, where Zandys boyfriends lifes. And here you can see me in front of the pen air theatre. It's a famous place here in the town. Every year they play theatre there. And Zandy told me it makes a lot of fun to wath it, because it's special to watch it open air. To see he open-air theatre we must pass the "Lindenplatz" ( basswoodplace). It's named so because in the middle of it there is a big basswood. In winter it's a little bit sad there, but Zandy showed us how it looks in summer. Really nice. So bye bye mummy! Love yours, Paddington |

Hey mummy!
Today a packet arrived here. We all were waiting for a new TV. And so we fast opened the packet, but ... ... like you see, no TV inside. Than we put out the things there and found another packet. And when we opened it there was someone laying, but it doesn't move, so we look a little bit closer... ... and than the Tv jumped up. You can't belive what a schock it was. Slowely I stay up and look sceptical. This isn't the fine english art. But than he say sorry and we go closer to talk a little bit. The name of the new TV is LittleLuzi. A nice guy (but he thinks he is the evil in person. That's not the truth, but we didn't say it to him, I think it's better ) And after talking there was nothing to do anymore. So it's time to say goodbye mummy. |

Hi mummy!
Today it is Zandy's Birthday and so I jumped on her bed and awake her to give her with the others to sing Happy Birthday. She was happy about it. Than we had to say goodbye to Icy. He leave us today. Puh so much in one hour. The postman ring and Zandy go upstairs, than she brought some packages with her. Look, so many... We thought this are birthday presents but she told us, that she had won a competition on bookcrossing and therefore she gets many many books. This is a community in which you can chance books with other users. Than we helped her to open the envelops. We read a little bit, but than it was time to go to the post office. Icy must go on his way and some books from Zandy. So we jumped into her bag. After the post office we take a little walk through the town. Here you can see us on a stonebuilding. It's a pice of a watergame for children. Now it's no water in it. The game is from one end of the street to the other one. Here you can see me in front of a picture of the watergame. On the right side you see a red key. It's the "Öhringer Schlüssel", the emblem of Zandy's hoemtown. It was very cold outside, so we walk home and pass the market place. Behind us you can see the castle of Öhringen, in the part you can see is the guildhall of Öhringen. And the last picture for today (It was time! Zandy's hand were blue, because of the temperature). This is the Stiftskirche (church). The tower behind me is called the Blasturm (blow tower) it's about 56 meters high. - But you know it allready, sur? So good night all at home. Yours, Paddington |

Zandy Posted Apr 17, 2012, 1:21 pm |
Hey at home!
Today Zandy and her mom decided to go shopping and we were allowed to go with them. Therefore we take the city railway, because we went to Heilbronn. We cross a lot of citys. And in a spezial one we take this pictures: The name of the city is Weinsberg. And we take this picture, because the castle there (you can see it on the hill on the left or in front of us. I hope you can it wasn't easy to take a good picture while the railway droves) has a nice story. It's called "Weibertreu" (somethink like: broad loyal). Why they call it so? Zandy told me and I'll tell it to you. In 1140 the owners of the castle were the Guelf (Welfen) and they fight against the Hohenstaufen dynasty about the maystery in the empire. King Konrad III. besiged the castle and won the fight against his adversery Welf VI on the 21st December 1140. So the castle give up some time later and King Konrad III. allowed the women to go. And he said, that the women can take all with them if they can carry it on their shoulders. The men must stay there and the king would kill them. So the women did it like he said, they take all with them what they can carry on their shoulders: Their men! And so the castle get it's name. So enought facts. It's time for fun. On our way in Heilbronn we found this little boat and decided to play a little bit on it. After hours we get hungry, so we buy something. Me and my friends decided to eat a salat with scampi. Look I met this nice Lady. And while it was cold we drink some hot chocolate. A really big pot for my. *yummy* Than it was time to go home. While we were waiting for our city railway we take some more pictures. Here I'm in front of the city hall of Heilbronn. The clock is really nice, or? There are three clocks. The highest one is a phase of the moon clock, the middle one is a normal time clock and the last one ist the astronomical clock. It was build in 1580 by Isaac Habrecht. On the place in front of the city hall we found an embleme which shows all city partnership of Heilbronn. The cities are: Stockport in the UK, Neath Port Talbot in Southwales, Béziers in France, Solothurn in Schwizerland, Slubice in Poland and Frankfurt (Oder) in Germany. Zandy would take a picture and said we should sit on one flag. Of course I sit on the UK flag. And the last picture before we go home is with the ower of the Kilianskirche (church). It's a gothic one, first it was a romanic build in 1100. Good night mummy, now I'm tired. |

Hi mummy!
Today we‘ve visited Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Rothenburg is a city in Bavaria, in the administrative district Ansbach in Middle Franconia. Rothenburg has round 11000 inhabitants. And Zandy showed us some pictures from some years ago, when she was there. The old city is sooooooooooooo awesome. A really medieval city. In the morning we waked up and prepair us for our jounrey. It was could outside, but we heat the car up. We had a lot of fun during our drive. We sang songs and look outside. There was snow lieing and the landscape was wonderful. After round a hour we came to Rotheburg and look mummy what we saw, when we leave the car. And than we walked behind the wall and found stairs. We decided to go up. At the top of the Wall we can walk on the parapet walk and of course we did it. What a fun and nice thing. Look and then we found this way. We talked together if we should go there into the dark. And Little Luzi said, we should do, there is nothing we must have fear. But before we walked through I saw a very funny sign. Isn’t it? After our walk on the parapet walk we go down and saw this nice tower. We all were very surprised, that all this things are in such a good situation after all this years. And then in a separate part of the wall we had a really great view over Rothenburg. And with the snow it was really great. Here are a grouppicture of us in front of the great view. But it’s getting colder there, so we decided to walk our way. And it was good, because we found this old church. (But we can’t go inside, there was a mess and we thought it will be bad to go inside during this.) And look there was a sun clock on a house. On the other side of the church we found this relief of a religious szene. We are not really sure which one it is and there was no sign. Oh mummy, and we found a Teddyland. Look how many teddies there in the window. We tried to talk with the teddies but they didn’t hear us. And then we found a really nice fountain. There are a lot fountains in Rothenburg. Mummy, Zandy showed us a store with Christmasdecorations. This store is open the whole year. She told us, that it is very funny to go there in summer, because than you didn’t think on Christmas, but in the store you must do it. Sadly it wasn’t allowed to take pictures inside the store and the Christmas museum. After this visit we went to a museum. A scary museum. It’s called medieval crimemuseum. Look what we found outside. A cage in which you put thieves and then you put them into the water. *brrr* And before you go in you see this horse buggy. You know what there are for? Yes, in this horse buggy you bring the thieves to the prison or to the deathsman. Scary! MUMMY! HELP! Look what they do with me!!!! They put me into the gallows. Hihi, don’t worry mummy. This was my idea, I want to take a picture. And then the doors opend and we could go inside. Wow, it was so dark in the first room, so that the pictures aren’t very well, but we do our best. A reck. This was a torture instrument to bring the defendant to a guilty plea. And look a chair with thrones. *brrr* After this scary torture instrument we found some prison doors. And I decided to go behind so that Zandy could take a picture. Mummy and look at this masks. Buh, scary. This are Shame masks from the 17./18. from old Austria. The left mask has a mustache with twisted ends, horn and openings on the sides, for attachements of chicken feathers (symboling sexual lack of restrain). On top of the mask are bells which make the public aware when they ring. The middle mask is one with a pig shout instead of a human mouth. This symbolized that the person wearing it acted like a pig. The right has big glasses which shows, that the person sees all and the tounge says that the person talked about all. On the next picture you can see me and my friends reading a strange story. It was in German, but the others help me to understand. And it was really, really, really strange. I will tell you what the story tells: The title is “The animal banish” There was a downright court procedure against animals in the 15. century in the Switzerland. The area of Bern was attacked several times of cockchafer grubs. To fight the grubs, because they menace the harvest, the bishop of Lausanne began a court procedure against them with the ambition to banish them: He send a apparitor to them, to call them to send an ambassador to the court. But the animals didn’t came and so the court procedure happened without them. And so the bishop adjudge them to leave the country in a deadline. But the cockchafer didn’t go. And so the bishop anathematized them. Mummy, we all laughed so loud, that the other people look at us. But we are right, or? So silly people! How they can think, that cockchafer will come to a court procedure? So silly! Really! But ok, we came to us an than our tour goes on. We found this big equipment, to press emblems of different things. And this different punishmends of honour. Mummy, look at this crazy mask. It’s a shame mask from the 17. Century. Shame masks were put on those heads from people standing at the pillories. They served on one hand to elucidate the bad character and crime of the person being punished, and on the other hand to make them look ridiculous and to encourage the mockery on the onlookers. And this is also silly! A shame flute. It was used for bad musicians. The neck on the musicianwas forded trough the upper round hole and the fingers were placed under the iron. This gave the impression that the musician is playing the flute. This mask was only for man. We found a glass case which shows some traditional things that women wear on their wedding. Of course we found THE torture and death penalty oft the medieval time. The iron maiden. I think you know what this “lady” do. *shiver* This one is an original from the 15./16. century from Nuremberg. But this one wasn’t really a torture or death penalty, it was a shame penalty for women and girls. Can you see the cage behind us? Ok I know it isn’t easy, but we do our best. It’s known a “The Trülle” here . It’s a pillory in form of a cage in which offenders stood, either standing free on all sides on a public place or fitted into the front of a building (most the town hall). This cage could be rotated , mummy. It was the punishment for work-dodgers and for revelers who disturbed the peace at night while drunk. On the right site there is a big justice sword. Next I saw a funny picture with shows different punishes. Ok, it looks funny on the picture, but in real they were not so funny, I guess. Mummy do you see the things on the floor? I will tell you what they are. Left the stone, this is called Turkish head. After the defeat of the Turks in Vienna 1683, this head was worn around a chain as a symbol of shame. The both stones in the middle are called stones of wickedness (lorry). And right are the wooden block. This is a weight which a person had to wear during he was standing at the pillory. The next picture shows a justice. I think you can see what the persons and floors shows us. Mummy, so you know what the next picture shows? I’ll tell you. It shows a “Drunk Tank”. Especially it was used for men who went often to the inns and drank too much. Through the hole came the head so that the weight of the barrel was carried of the shoulders. As a special hardship sometimes weights were put on the outside. (How silly?!) Here you can see me and my friends in front of a model of a marketplace. Right you can see a building whit is open, this shows a school and the different classrooms. When we walked our way we saw an old school table and a donkey. You didn’t believe for what the donkey was. It was for blithering pupil, they must sit on the monkey. Crazy people! Oh and we found weights. Whit this people buy their things. Of course some weights were faked, so that people must pay more than they really must. And we found a glass case which shows different gallows and pillory. How much they have. For everything a different one. Scary clothes, or mummy? There are from a deathsman. Now I know why people were afraid if they see such a man. I would be afraid too if such a man cross my way. The wheels were also a punishment. People were non-friable and than they drive with the wheel on armes and legs oft the people. Mummy, it is sooooo brutal. What the people in the medieval times had in their heads?! Mummy I’ll come to you. No, don’t worry, we only found this old gun and I decided to take a picture. After all the scary things I must do something funny. I saw this picture which shows two criminal persons. And another wooden block. Hmm I wouldn’t wear this thing. Look, only for you mummy. :-D Hehe no, I think it’s no good idea to steal them. There are beautiful. But I think our crown-jewles are more important, or mummy?! Puuuuh this was a trip. Scary, silly but also very interesting. How people change in time, this is very interesting. And I’m happy, that they change, because when not I’ll never become a ToyVoyager. But so I learn something and that’s good. After our trip to the museum we went to a cafe with a delicacy from Rothenburg ob der Tauber. It’s called Schneeball (snow ball). Zandy told me, that this pastries are from shortcrust. The first ones were only with sugar powder but now there are many differend sorts. You can see them behind me and my friends. Of course Zandy saied that we will taste them and than we had the spoilt for choice. I decided to take a snow ball with marzipan and dark chocolate. And it was sooooooooo delicious. I would like to send one to you, but I think I had no chance to do it. I’m sorry mummy. Than it‘s getting late and we had to go back to the car. On our way we passed another great fountain. Look at the statue on it. But than we decided to take another walk on the parapet walk, but now the other side. First we take this picture, you see me on the wall?! From above we saw a nice house with a really nice clock. Isn’t it? And we like the sunset from above. It was really nice. I hope you see it a little bit on the pictures. It was very cold and I don’t know who shivers more I or Zandy. And we saw this tower with some emblemes, the left and right one shows the embleme of Rothenburg but we don’t know which one the middle one is. And the last picture was this one. And than we drove home and fell into our beds, because we were so tired. Bye bye mummy, I hope you enjoy my Rothenburg-Trip. Yours, Paddington |
