Hi everyone!
I'm Munchy Moose a tiny moose with a big desire to see the world. Recently some of my friends have become TV's and started on their journeys around the world, so I thought this would be a great time to start mine :)

I want to see everything that my little eyes can take in, so I'd be happy to visit anywhere. If you'd like me to visit you just send a pm to beccasaurus.

Here's a picture of me while it was snowing here the other day.

Hello! Today I left to go on my first trip ever outside of Fort Kent, Maine. I'll be visiting imahockeynut in Montreal, QC, Canada.
I can't wait to get there and meet her, I'm so excited this should be fun.

Before I left I had to say good-bye to my good friend puff, who was also leaving that day to go to Germany.

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c145/livesinshadows/100_4898-1.jpg

Puff was going to try to fly me to Quebec... we decided the post would be a better idea :P

http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c145/livesinshadows/100_4978.jpg

Finally we arrived at the post office. I was anxious to go inside and get my journey started.

Next time you see me I'll be in Montreal with imahockeynut!!

Hi Mom!

I arrived safe and sound here in Montreal. When the envelope was opened I met two curious looking TVs.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4045/4328848809_61642671e3.jpg

These TVs belong to my host and their names are PollyWally and Regina. I showed them the postcard you sent. (By the way, my host wants to thank you for the postcard :D!)
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4009/4329591878_b01da54634.jpg

We sat around and got to know each other a little bit. We also talked about traveling and where we wanted to go.

After her class, my host showed me around the neighbourhood a little bit.

This is St. Catherine's Street. Further down is sort of an outdoor mall where stores you would normally see in malls have stores right on the street.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4016/4329598826_f466739c12.jpg

The building on the left is called the EV building which is part of Concordia University (where my host attends). It houses most of the Fine Arts and Computer Sciences classes as well as a Gym. The big building on the right is where the library is.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/4329601664_3dbd504250.jpg

We didn't see much else after because it was getting too cold.

Later me and my friends had McDonald's for dinner. The Big Mac was delicious.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2769/4329604442_2c2d31ac6a.jpg

Then we sat down and watch a show called Little Britain USA, it was really funny.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4066/4328871663_2a602a7cdf.jpg

That's it for now Mom, I hope all is going well with you :)

Miss you,

Hi Mom,

Today we went to see a movie called From Paris with Love. It was playing at a movie theatre in the old Montreal Forum where the Montreal Canadien's used to play until they moved to a newer arena further downtown. Now it's an entertainment complex with restaurants, a movie theatre, a comedy club and some stores.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4063/4338094978_3403b43fa2.jpg

This is approximately where centre ice was when the Forum was still used as a arena.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4006/4338151668_e7c969a7ef.jpg

This is a statue of Maurice Richard, one of the greatest Habs players of all time.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4039/4337384641_b3d1807b60.jpg

We were a little early for the movie, so we sat around relaxed on an authentic seat from the Forum.

While sitting down, I notice that their Christmas is still up. Don't they know that it's February now?
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2773/4338125264_77fb06eb42.jpg

Finally we get to our seat. That's me enjoying a blue raspberry icee or slushie.  The movie was very good but I won't say anything else because I don't want to spoil it if you want to see the movie.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4029/4338177420_a768c6fbff.jpg

Later, we watched some hockey. First we watch my host's favourite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs face their provincial rivals the Ottawa Senators. The Leafs won 5-0 and my host was very happy.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2569/4338187904_ca54f8b151.jpg

After we watched another hockey game, this time it was the Edmonton Oilers against the Colorado Avalanche (one of my host's other favourite team),  The Avalanche won 3-0 which made my host even more happy.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4032/4337449105_05d67295bd.jpg

Tomorrow we're going to watch the Super Bowl tomorrow. My host says that she normally doesn't watch it but her Colts are in it this year so we are going to have a little party tomorrow.

Hi Mom,

We started off the day with some breakfast. We had a very delicious donut and some yogurt.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4053/4343892508_bfa345343a.jpg

After breakfast, we played some video games. That's me playing Animal Crossing: City Folks, doing some fishing.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4013/4343167105_3b2d4da52e.jpg

Before the game, my host got some snacks to eat. One bowl has Lay's Ketchup chips and the other bowl has Miss Vickie's Jalapeno chips. I really liked both chips.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4011/4343182699_b9a22aff07.jpg

My host also gave us some beer to wash down the chips.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2767/4343174179_a02ba553f5.jpg

Then we watched the game. It was a good game overall but imahockeynut was disappointed that her Colts didn't win but she said that there was always next year.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4033/4343922520_b20229c85b.jpg

I'm really having fun here Mom. My host said that she'll try to take me out to see more sites soon. I hope all is going well with you.

Hi Mom,

My host showed me around a bit more today. The building here is called the Hall Building, which is part of the university and where most of my host's classes are held.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4062/4353926526_f724c8ea16.jpg

Here's another view of the library building I saw before.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4067/4353181433_9aa7b09ae8.jpg

This cornerstone was laid by the then-Quebec Minister of Education Paul Genin-Lajoie in 1965.  Sir George Williams University, along with Loyola College merged in 1974 to become Concordia University.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4009/4353934344_30a4dab848.jpg

This is a view of De Maisonneuve Blvd.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2743/4353937338_574efe6d2b.jpg

Then we went to Cresent St., one of the big party streets in Montreal.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2724/4353191947_1746249b20.jpg

Here's a view of the street, apparently it's more spectacular at night with all the lights and stuff.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4069/4353194991_217d18afa0.jpg

This building is called the GM building which used to house the John Molson School of Business but it moved to a newer building. Now it houses the Canadian Irish Studies Department.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2787/4353946390_8f57e8dbe4.jpg

JMSB didn't move that far though, (just across the street), into the new MB building that opened last September.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2728/4353948932_dc546c38e9.jpg

Then we went to this Middle-Eastern place that has the best and cheapest pizza in Montreal. We didn't stay to eat, but we took our food to go.

When we got back, Me, PollyWally, and Regina had a Manakish, (which is a pita with chesse and other stuff). This one was a plain cheese one and it was really good.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4046/4353350013_8d7804a25b.jpg

Later we watched the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Olympics. It was a spectacular show. This pic shows the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police or the "Mounties".) are carrying in the Canadian flag.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4068/4354104624_10841e21eb.jpg

Next, the Natives welcomed the world to their lands. This shows one of the tribes but I forget which one.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4013/4354108022_49762c10d1.jpg

Next came the parade of nations and I felt a little proud when the Americans came in. USA! USA!
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4063/4353367277_8f43bc4e2b.jpg

When the Canadians came, my host, PollyWally, and Regina all started cheering. They came in last because they were the host nation.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/4353374301_bf5248ef3a.jpg

Next was the cultural part of the ceremony. This segment of called "The Hymn of the North".
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4019/4353377743_7396a1e1cf.jpg

After, the Governor General of Canada, Michaelle Jean declared the games open.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2773/4353385803_7ef548efc2.jpg

The lighting of the Olympic Cauldron usually is a one person job but they had 4 people light it (well 3, since there was a technical error).
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4069/4353393233_3c30ec7e46.jpg

This was a spectacular night and historical one too. This was the first time in Olympic history that the opening ceremony and the Olympic cauldron was held in an indoor stadium.

Hi Mom,

Happy Valentine's Day! Today was kind of a sad day because one of my host's TVs Regina is leaving tomorrow for the Netherlands so today is her last day here. So we decided to throw her a going away party.

First we ate some delicious nachos.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4024/4357687599_d07af3b490.jpg

We also had some delicious French wine. I know, not the usually choice of drink with nachos.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4037/4357679817_eacdd6545b.jpg

For dessert, we had some Valentine's Day chocolates, also very delicious.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2684/4358430038_68920a78a5.jpg

Later we watched some of the Olympics. First we watched the Ladies' 3000m Long-Track Speed-Skating. Canada's Kristina Groves won the bronze medal. The top American placed 9th,
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4043/4358441386_544c11392a.jpg

Then we watched the Men's Freestyle Skiing-Moguls Finals. It was a very good competition. Here's Bryon Wilson of the Us, he was 3rd in qualifying and ended up winning Bronze, WOOOOO. USA!
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4051/4358445588_de338b0f1f.jpg

Then came Alexandre Bilodeau of Canada. Guess how he finished? 1st! All of Canada is celebrating now because that is their first Olympic gold on home soil. I know that my host, PollyWally, and Regina were jumping up, crying and screaming because their countrymen made history. I applauded and was amazed because I witnessed history.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2726/4358452786_23ca28e120.jpg

This turned out to be a great day even though Regina is leaving tomorrow. Hope all is going well with you and I just want to tell you I love and miss you.

Hi Mom,

Today, my friend Regina is leaving today to start her own journey. I was sad that she was leaving because we have been great friends but I'm happy that she's starting her travels. She didn't leave without saying good bye though.

Me and PollyWally gave her a good bye hug.

Then we both waved goodbye as she climbed into my envelope.

Me and PollyWally cried a little when she left but we both hug each other and thought that she is going to have the time of her life.

Hi Mom,

Sorry for not updating sooner, my host has been very busy with midterms, no matter.

Today we met a new TV, his name is Cpl.Flapjack Jr who belongs to my host. He was a little shy.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2634/4367341530_c5dd9bed08.jpg

His shyness didn't last though and became fast friends. We won't be hanging around a lot because he's going to be leaving for Austria soon. In meantime though, we hung out and talked about traveling.

Guess where we are Mom? We're in Germany! Here we are waiting for the train to take us to the centre of town and to our hostel.

I would of taken pictures in Paris but our plane was late and we had to rush between terminals.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2719/4400972871_2f20a4c6fa.jpg

The train that we were on is called the S-Bahn. It was a pleasant ride which took about 40 minutes.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4036/4400975243_03e168db16.jpg

WE got off at Central Station and tried to find our accommodations but we got lost. Since we were getting hungry as well, we decided to stop at this nice cafe to eat. We had some pizza and orange Fanta. It was delicious.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/4401744674_90e56e48b3.jpg

After finishing our meal and consulting a map, we finally found our hostel. Since we were so tired we relaxed on the table in our room and hung out.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4069/4400982371_e963e4292b.jpg

Later we went to Pizza Hut for dinner where had more delicious pizza.

After dinner we went back to the hostel to sleep because we were so jet-lag.

Hi Mom,

Today we went to the Old Town of Munich. First stop was to Marienplatz where the square is named after the patron saint of te city (the Virgin Mary). The little gold statue there is of her. You can also see he New City Hall and on it's facade you can also see the Glockenspiel, a mechanical clock that performs a miniature tournament. We tried tp go see it but we went at the wrong time.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4012/4401012613_d516f4db54.jpg

Here's me with a street sign that says Marienplatz.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2711/4401798864_a987172cbf.jpg

After browsing in some shops, we sat down and took a break. It was kind of slippery walking to the beach but we had no problems.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4067/4401813480_e57cc40f9e.jpg

After our break, we continued walking until we ended up at Max-Joseph-Platz, which the square and the statue behind was built in honour of Bavaria's first king, Maximillion I Joseph.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4049/4403890841_378a4d82dd.jpg

Behind the statue is the Nationaltheater, home of the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian National Ballet
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4005/4404649478_fbe4dca373.jpg

Next we went to the Residenz or the Royal Palace which was the home of all the Dukes, Electors and Kings of Bavarias during their reigns.

After about 3 hours walking around the palace, we sat on a bench outside to catch our breath. It's hard for us TVs to walk around for 3 hours straight with little legs like ours but we had fun.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4033/4404691036_c2e6fbdcff.jpg

After our mini-break, we walked up north towards Odenplatz. On our way there, we noticed this cafe called Nespresso with an ad with George Clooney in it. We were all surprised because we didn't think that we would see George Clooney on an ad in Germany but we thought it was cool.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2744/4403937447_0bdae5749d.jpg

Finally we reached Odenplatz, First we saw the Theatinerkirche or the Church of St. Kajetan. The church contains the tombs od many of the Bavarian royals.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4049/4403951265_1db54c6073.jpg

Next we saw the Feldherrnhalle a tribute commissioned by King Ludwig I to the Bavarian Army. This also where Hilter's Beer Hall putsch failed.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2741/4404726986_d1a4f23bd6.jpg

Later we tried to go see a movie but when we arrived we were either way to early or way to late. We also tried to find this sushi restaurant but apparently it doesn't exist anymore so we ended up at McDonald's.

Hi Mom,

Today we explored a bit of Berlin. First off we went to Alexanderplatz. We browsed through some shops and my host got some clothes for a couple of her siblings for their birthdays. Then we walked to the S-bahn station to go to another part of the city.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4022/4404788130_968447cfd9.jpg
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4024/4404029955_2e4d015127.jpg

We took the S-Bahn to Unter Den Linden to go see the Brandenburg Gate. It is the only remaining gate of a series through which you formerly entered Berlin.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/4452274851_4af2e37b29.jpg

Here's a view of Unter Den Linden which is a boulevard with posh cafes, hotels, etc. Though it has other stuff as well. You can also see the Radio Tower in the background.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4061/4452278637_06a375780e.jpg

We headed back on Unter Den Linden and stopped at a cafe to get something to eat. We tried some currywurst, a German delicacy. It's basically a sausage smothered in a curry sauce made out of Ketchup and curry powder. It also came with fries at the side. It was delicious.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4010/4452291287_0ff62aaefe.jpg

After our delicious meal, we headed off to Berlin Central Station for a change of scenery. We relaxed and had a coffee at a cafe inside the station for a while. Eventually we got sleepy so we left and went back to the hostel.

Today we started off our day with KFC. The fries were ok but the Chicken Caesar Wrap was awesome. Everything was fresh and there was even big pieces of croutons. Yum!
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/4452299985_bbd7e4790e.jpg

We went to the East Side Gallery which is an outdoor museum that showcases the last remaining part of the Berlin Wall.

Inside, we had a caffe latte in a glass and some cheesecake. The latte was good but the cheesecake not so much.

Later we headed south to Potsdamer Platz to watch a movie. The theatre is located in the Sony Centre.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2479/4453245788_1c6fa6e816.jpg

Since we were a little early, we decided to get something to eat. We ended up eating at an Australian restaurant.

After dinner we went to go see Sherlock Holmes. It was interesting to note that movie theatres here have assigned seating which surprised me but we enjoyed the movie anyhow.

Hi Mom,

We didn't do to much today. We rode the S-Bahn to check out the rest of the city. Here we are sitting on the train.

After we went to Burger King for dinner, not so bad.

I'm a little sad because tomorrow is our last day but we're going to have fun anyways.

Hi Mom,

Today's our last day in Germany. First we went to the Hard Rock Cafe for some lunch.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4031/4453511201_1c05908f53.jpg

This was fun. We were planning to go to this flea market after lunch but we found this in the station so we played here instead. You do have to pay by it was fun playing with the train and stuff.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2800/4454313664_33b1c6fa2a.jpg

On the way back to the hostel we noticed this ad for KFC, kind of funny.

I had fun in Germany but tomorrow we're going back to Canada. Hopefully I can come back here someday.

Hi Mom,

Today, my host showed us a package she picked up from the post office.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/4455892979_1c855cb8cc.jpg

We tried to open the package it proved to be to much, so my host helped us out. Now we're opening the box...
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4063/4456674468_d7b8d70ca1.jpg

...and found a TV inside...a Moose TV. His name is Marty the Moose and he's from England.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2721/4456676926_6ea995d5c2.jpg

He showed us a card and a postcard his Mom sent with him.

As well as the keychain.

I also helped him complete a life mission which was to meet another Moose TV. I'm glad I helped him out  :D!

Hi Mom,

Today we're going on anotheer trip. My host won't say where but she says that it's not to far and we'll only be there for a weekend. So our bags are pack and we're hitting the road...

...to the airport. Here we are waiting for our flight. We're a little tried right now because our gate changed so we had to walk from one end of the terminal to another.

And guess where we are mom? We're in Toronto right now...well the airport. When I asked if we're going to see any sites, my host said no because she's here to visit some family that lived in near Mississauga. We're waiting to be picked up by my host's Aunt and Uncle and then we're going to dinner.

Hi Mom,

Today we hung out with my host's sister's toys. We told them about Toyvoyagers and talked about traveling in general. One of them, (I think his name was Vines), expressed interest in becoming one. He said he will talk with his Mom and see if she will allow him to.

Hi Mom,

My host told me that I'm going to Australia next. So I'm going to leave tomorrow with Cpl.Flapjack Jr who's going to Austria. So today we decided to go to the movies.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2767/4455831209_65fce5dc6d.jpg

We decided to go see Alice in Wonderland in IMAX 3D. It was a really good movie.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2754/4456631690_eb2362f736.jpg

After the movie we went to a Mexican restaurant called Carlos and Pepes for the "Bon Voyage" party.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2727/4455857819_6fdc5d1d3c.jpg

We had "super" cheese nachos with guacamole and a Banana Daiquiri.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4065/4456645332_c5f902b977.jpg

Later we hung out at Starbucks and had a Vanilla Latte. We just relaxed and talked about tomorrow and about traveling.
http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4066/4455869223_7430721fac.jpg

When we got back we continued the party with some Sangria. Don't worry Mom, I didn't drink to much.

Hi Mom,

I'm a little sad to leave today because I made some awesome friends and had a great time here but I'm super excited to go Australia. I'm not the only one leaving though, Cpl.Flapjack Jr is also leaving today but he's going to Austria.

Hi Mum

I arrived at my new host's place on Easter Tuesday. We had heaps of fun! I met anothe TV called Rafiki, he's just about to start his first adventure.

I got to feed the goldfish, there's even a snail in the tank!

Later we went for a walk to Cornelian bay, we passed the New Town Hockey Courts and I saw a truck with a pretty rad picture painted on the back of it.

I got pretty puffed, so I had a rest on a park bench, then we walked up a track were you get a pretty awesome view of the boatsheds and boats. We could also see Mount Wellington, it was a bit cloudy though, and the Tasman Bridge that crosses the Derwent River.

I had an awesome day, will write again soon :D

Hey!

My host has been busy at work so we haven't been doing much since my last update. She tells me we are going on a trip this weekend though, I can't wait to find out where we go!

Last night we went for some dinner and a drink down in Salamanca. Salamanca is a street that runs along the Hobart waterfront, there are lots of pubs, bars and restaurants and on Saturdays they have markets. We went to Cargo Bar, they have yummy pizza and you can sit outside and watch all the people. I had some beer too (I really liked the beer).

When we got home we had some left over easter eggs for dessert.

bye for now, I'll write again soon.

Hi there!

My host took me on a road trip this weekend. She grew up in Dover, a small seaside town on the south east coast of Tasmania, and just about the most southern town in Australia.

We set off on Friday night after work to spend the weekend with her family for mothers day.

I met her little dog Bob, he thought I smelled pretty good, and I learnt about her favourite Aussie Rules Football team - Carlton (you can see a photo of me with a scarf on.

There's pictures of me in my host's old back yard and one with the catholic church next door, and also one of me in the main road, with a park and war memorial behind me.

On Sunday we walked down to Kent beach and I got to play on a playground that looks like a boat, then we went to the RSL club for a mothers day lunch.

Bye for now :) x

Its getting very cold here in Tasmania (its almost Winter now), so my host took me on a trip to the laundrette in Moonah to dry her washing.

We stayed at the Ritz Backpackers in St kilda (a Suburb of the City of Melbourne). It was really nice there and is above an awesome pub called the Elephant and Wheelbarrow.

Up the street from the backpackers there are heaps of fancy bars and places to eat. We found a really nice British cafe called the Embassy where we had breakfast there everyday and the owners loved Bubba Apes and me. They'd talk to us and ask what we'd like to eat.

Here are some photos of us at the backpackers and the cafe.

We went to Luna Park on Saturday, it was heaps on fun. The weather wasn't that great, but that was ok because we didn't have to line up long for the rides :)

We had photos taken at the entrance (a giant laughing clown face) and on the ghost ride and merry go round. All othe rides were a bit to scary for my host to take photos on, but we got to go on them and had sooo much fun!!!
