Hello Everyone!

Finally i have a mission in life, my mom loves to collect piglets, all sorts, and im one of the many.
Untill now, i have been with the others in a box in the attick, but after she heard about this site, she took me out of it, and told me i was gonna travel!
Isnt that exciting?  B)

Untill now, i have been on the computer desk alot, not much to see here, but hoping someone will agree to host me soon, and take me to exciting places, see other Piglets, maybe let me play a soccer game and have lots of fun!

Hello there everyone!  B)

Today my mom brought me to work!
She said to her colleagues it was "bring your piglet to work day" today, some even laughed, thats kinda rude!
But she showed me the workfloor, and what she does there, and i got to meet friendly colleagues, have some food in the kantina, and just be in my moms pocket all day, it was super!

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/13112009284.jpg
I was here almost the whole day, except for when she showed me off to colleagues and stuff.
A very friendly girl took this picture of us.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/13112009285.jpg
More family foto's! ;)

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/13112009286.jpg
Im sitting in a crate, thats where they put the stuff the shops has ordered.
You can see the label for the shop on the front, where its going to, and they have a computer that tells them what to put in there.
It looked kinda boooooring, i was happy to be able to get some sleep in the pocket aswell!

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/13112009287.jpg
The workfloor!

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/13112009288.jpg

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/13112009290.jpg
My mums friendly, but a little crazy, colleague, she was the one taking the picture of us together.

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/13112009291.jpg
We told her all about ToyVyagers, and she liked the idea, thought it was super cute, maybe she will join one day? :)

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/13112009292.jpg
Eating soup in the kantina, it was delicious!

It was a very nice day, and this weekend we will spend alot of time together aswell, because we are going away for a weekend!
No sign of MrCoolHH yet, im really hoping he will be here before the weekend, then i have someone to bring with me aswell!
My mum is going with her boyfriend, and another couple, so it would be fun to have someone to play with!

Take care!

Friday we went to Wateren, thats in Drenthe in The Netherlands.
It was time for relaxing, be with friends, and have fun!

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/P1000544.jpg
This is Christel, a good friend of my mother, we were in the car on our way to a near by restaurant.
They really had good food there, and it was really nice!

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/P1000564.jpg
Saturday was Dennis' birthday, so we left the luxury house to go to the local village for some shopping.
While we were looking around, we saw theese awsome socks! :D
Mum is Norwegian, and had me pose between them, it was awquard, but was done quickly
It was fun to se Norwegian flags, alltho, we still have no idea WHY they were Norwegian, maybe because of the poor print on them, that was supposed to look like the Norwegian sweater print, we dunno...

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/P1000565.jpg
Anyway, this is what we got, didnt need much, as we brought most of the food and candy and all ourselves!
She just HAD to have those socks...  :p

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/P1000567.jpg
In the car again, on out way back to the luxury house, last drive untill we left for home, it was a really nice house!

http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d107/sollie_/ToyVoyagers/P1000569.jpg
This one explains itself, now doesent it?

Me in the fake flower on the table, with the house key ;)

He didnt drop me in tho ;)

Hi Mum,

I am so happy – yesterday I arrived in Germany!!! There was a nice bunny
called Dicker Kumpel. He gave me a warm welcome.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2207.jpg

We found out that he knows MrCoolHH. The world is so small. Then he
introduced me to some other ToyVoyagers.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2208.jpg

We talked a lot – they had a nice Christmas here. I am  a little sad,
because I celebrated it in the mail. But I will celebrate New Year's Eve here.

Today RikeH and Dicker Kumpel invited me to come to Hamburg,
so I could see the Christmas Market. Here you see some of the photos.
It was very nice.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2196.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2197.jpg

A really big tree!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2198.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2199.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2200.jpg

This was inside the main train station.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2201.jpg

We drove home with this train.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2202.jpg

Dicker Kumpel and I talked a lot – and looked out of the window,
but it was very dark outside.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2203.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2204.jpg

Back home Dicker Kumpel told me about a big surprise.

Can you imagine it, Mum. The Santa Bunny came to me.
He was on the way back to the North Pole, and Dicker Kumpel told
him about my time in the mail over Christmas. Santa Bunny decided
to stop here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2209.jpg

After telling a Christmas Poem I got a gift.

Hi Mum,

It is New Year's Eve – and we will celebrate it. Here are the gifts for our host for this evening.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2238.jpg

The clothes for the bottle were so funny – I tried it out,

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2236.jpg

We had something delicious to eat. It was called Chesse-Fondue.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2245.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2249.jpg

Later we had a great dessert, too. A kind of Tiramisu.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2255.jpg

We played an interesting game – and I won it!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2257.jpg

When we came close to midnight, we had a glass of Champagne and something delicious called 'Berliner'.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2300.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2262.jpg

After it we went out onto the balcony and watched the fireworks.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2272.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2289.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2295.jpg

Look at this beautiful hat - what a wonderful color!

Hi Mum,

Landroval arrived in Germany. Dicker Kumpel  gave him a warm welcome.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2312.jpg

Then he introduced him to us – we will go on a holiday together next week.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2313.jpg

We talked a lot – and Landroval told us a lot about Canada. Then he showed us his foot.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2314.jpg

We all loved the nice Tattoo on it.

Then we all showed our feet – I think that mine is the nicest, although I have no Tattoo on it.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202009/IMG_2315.jpg

After it I explored the Christmas Tree - and look, what I found. The color is so wonderful!

Hi Mum,

We have winter here in Germany now. I wanted to explore Sόlfeld in the snow. This is the old school.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010/IMG_2327.jpg

The church is so beautiful – and the pharmacy is on the other side of the street.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010/IMG_2334.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010/IMG_2335.jpg

I had a great idea – I should build a snowman. It was hard work for a little ToyVoyager like me.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010/IMG_2351.jpg

But look, he is great, isn’t he?

Hi Mum,

today we started our trip.  It was very  early in the morning – and snowy. Look – what I saw. Not much,

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2404.jpg

We went from Hamburg to Frankfurt with a fast train called ICE-Train. It has nothing to do with the weather in Germany at the moment.

Here you see all of us together.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2407.jpg

We all got something to eat :

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_6123.jpg

Here you see what I got. Funny pigs - this was so funny!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2410.jpg

When we arrived at the airport we were too early for the check-in. So we waited and watched the queue for the Emirates Flight.

We needed another airline, but I will tell you later, where we went. SURPRISE!!!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2423.jpg

When we waited to board the plane, we went to a place where we were able to see the planes.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2431.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2437.jpg

Look – there is our plane coming.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_6175.jpg

I had a place at the window – it was a wonderful view!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2445.jpg

I had a delicious dinner – fresh fish with rice and vegetables.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2450.jpg

It went dark outside – the sky was so beautiful!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2454.jpg

I can tell you that we had a safe landing and stay in a nice hotel. But I won't tell you now, where I am.

Hi Mum,

on this photo you can see, where I spend this holiday – in Jordan.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2588.jpg

We started in Amman and went through the city. They write with nice letters here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2464.jpg

We went to Umm Qeis, to the Ruins of the old town Gadara. First we saw the Amphitheatre.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2472.jpg

Here we were:

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2481.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2480.jpg

I had a great view from my place.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2485.jpg

Then we went to another place – there was a Basilica in the past.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2497.jpg

From this place I could see Israel and Syria. I saw the Sea of Galilee and the Golan Heights.  Really interesting.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2507.jpg

On the tour to the next place I saw a supermarket – I love the letters here!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2518.jpg

The next historical place was called Pella.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2527.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2531.jpg

This was a marble column – I loved the color.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2538.jpg

We drove to a very interesting place – called the Dead Sea.  It is 422 m below the sea level – this was strange.

The humans behaved really strange there – they put something black on their skins, waited ten minutes, and then went into the water. I didn't understand it.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2547.jpg

After the long time inside the bus I decided to take a rest and I enjoyed the sun on the beach.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2554.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2555.jpg

Later we had a picnic with delicious Hamburgers on the beach.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2558.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2563.jpg

What a great first day in Jordan.

Hi Mum,

Today was a great day for Jordan. Not only that I visited the country, but it was raining.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2680.jpg

They don't have many rain here, so we were happy for the Jordan People and decided to visit a Museum of Archeology.

Here you can see some intersting things.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2599.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2601.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2618.jpg

This was the view from the entrance of the Museum – the Temple of Hercules behind me.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2623.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2634.jpg

We went to the big Amphittheater of Amman – I love these old buildings.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_6650.jpg

Next to it was another nice museum. We saw there, how the people in Jordan lived in the past.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2647.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2652.jpg

We went through Amman and the souk. Here I was in front of a Mosque.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2660.jpg

They sold delicious fruits and vegetables in the Souk.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2669.jpg

We went to another great place – called Jerash. It is a very big old city – wonderful. We walked around there for 2 hours.

First a Gate...

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2686.jpg

...the big oval place..

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2694.jpg

...the Nympheum...

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2703.jpg

...more buildings...

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2711.jpg

...a pig in the stone...

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2699.jpg

and the oval place from a hill.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2725.jpg

A really great place to visit – and the rain stopped, when we were there.

Back home in the hotel we all drank soft drinks. We were not able to read, what it was, but it was jummy.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2591.jpg

After it I shared my sweets with the others – funny pig-sweets.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2728.jpg

Another really great day here. It is so nice to be a ToyVoyager!!!

Hi Mum,

today we left Amman and drove south. First we visited the Mount Nebo, a mountain where – according to the Bible, the prophet Moses is believed to have died. We had a great view from the top.

There was a beautiful mosaic – normally in a church – but now in a tent.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2736.jpg

Look – what a big stone – in memorial of Moses.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2776.jpg

After having a great time on the hill – with really beautiful views, we drove to Madaba. The city is best known for its Byzantine and Umayyad mosaics, expecially a large Byzantine-era mosaic map of the Holy Land.

We went into the Greek Orthodox Basilica of Saint Georg, where the famous mosaic is.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2789.jpg

Then we drove through a gorgeous landscape.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2803.jpg

We stopped to look into the Wadi Mujib.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2814.jpg

One hour later we came to Kerak, known for its famous Crusader Castle.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2827.jpg

We visited it – it was wonderful – I would love to be a knight, I think.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_7210.jpg

In the evening we sat outside the room in the hotel and talked a lot. This time we ate the Snickers from Landroval.

Hi Mum,

Today we visited one of the most famous places in Jordan, it is a city called Petra – a Unesco World Heritage Site.

First we had to walk through the Siq – a dark narrow gorge.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2850.jpg

At the end of the Siq we had this view of Al Khazneh (the Treasury).

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2856.jpg

Here I am in front of the Treasury.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2864.jpg

Here you see many tombs in the stone.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2884.jpg

They had an amphitheatre, too.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2891.jpg

We climbed up 200 stairs to visit the big Urn Tomb – and had a great view from the place.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2897.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2906.jpg

There were donkeys here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2923.jpg

We went into an old church and saw some mosaics. I found a pig. We were very important in the older times, I think.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2927.jpg

We decided to make a long walk – about 800 stairs!!! But I was happy – RikeH put me in her bag, so I didn’t have to walk all the way on my short legs. Some photos from the way.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_7564.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_7576.jpg

A really steep gorge:

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_7589.jpg

This is the place we wanted to see – El Deir (the Monastery). It was great!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2963.jpg

On our way back we had nice views, too.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2968.jpg

Back in the valley the sun came – and we saw all in different colors.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2975.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2976.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_2979.jpg

This was our hotel:

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3023.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3024.jpg

We had a delicious dinner in the evening – very important after the long interesting day!

Hello Mum,

we had so much fun today. We made a trip with a Jeep through the Wadi Rum. We learnt that they made the Movie Lawrence from Arabia here. I never heart of it before. But the nature was nice.

On our way to the Wadi Rum, we stopped at a nice place and saw the Valley of Petra. It was wonderful.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3031.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3042.jpg

Look – what a funny tree. If someone knows its name, please send a PM to RikeH.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3044.jpg

Here you can see us on our Jeep.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3090.jpg

We drove really fast and enjoyed the nature around. There was another Jeep behind us, but we were in the leading team.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_7811.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3085.jpg

Our first stop – nice mountains and writing on the walls.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3063.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3074.jpg

The second stop - with a beautiful gorge.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3108.jpg

We stopped in front of a big Dune. We walked onto the top of it – and had a great view.

Hello Mum,

Today is the last day in Jordan. We will relax in the hotel. Here you see me sitting on the balcony – and the view from our balcony. Wonderful!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3144.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3138.jpg

We went through the garden and found beautiful flowers.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3150.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3155.jpg

Outside we saw these nice young dogs.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_7759.jpg

Back in the hotel we wanted to drive on this funny bike, but we are not allowed, because we TVs were too young.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/Jordanien/IMG_3159.jpg

So we decided to relax and enjoy the last evening.

What a wonderful holiday in Jordan.

Hello Mum,

a new guest arrived two days ago. She is called Agatha and came from Canada.

We talked a lot – and she showed a viewcard from her country.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010/IMG_3215.jpg

Today we decided to drive to a nice small town. It is called Bad Oldesloe.
RikeH went to school there – many many years ago.

They have a nice river there. I liked it – and saw some funny ducks in the water and on the ice.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010/IMG_3239.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010/IMG_3240.jpg

This is the townhall. It was not so easy to take this photo, because the ground was very icy.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010/IMG_3246.jpg

Another nice place in Bad Oldesloe.

Hello Mum,

Today it was time to say good-bye to Dicker Kumpel. We spent such a great time together.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%202010/IMG_3284.jpg

Then I got a hug from the others.

Until soon.

Life has not been very exciting here in the Abby household.  Seriously, all we do is study.

Memorizing bones...

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-25-2010-011.jpg

Reading about sediments and stratigraphy...

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-25-2010-012.jpg

And learning about the finer aspects of Canada's immigration policies.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-25-2010-013.jpg

I have, however, been helping to make delicious baked goods to eat while studying.  Usually everyone gets a little carried away before someone realizes that nobody has been taking any pictures, but I do have photographic evidence of one baking adventure.

In this case, we were baking flourless chocolate cupcakes for a few of Abby's friends (plus a few on the side for the family and ToyVoyagers to eat, of course).  A couple of Abby's friends cannot have gluten, so we made sure that we cleaned everything thoroughly first.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-18-2010-001.jpg

Then, I melted chocolate and butter together.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-18-2010-006.jpg

As they were melting, I mixed together cocoa powder, sugar and eggs.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-18-2010-007.jpg

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-18-2010-010.jpg

The butter and chocolate mixture is looking good...

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-18-2010-013.jpg

Time to add it to the mix.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-18-2010-016.jpg

These are all ready to go into the oven.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/March-18-2010-019.jpg

Et voila!  Yum!

Cassiopeia and I helped Abby and Erin make pudding eggs, an Easter tradition.  We made pistachio and lemon.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-2-2010-002.jpg

Mix together instant pudding, boiling water and butter.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-2-2010-004.jpg

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-2-2010-006.jpg

Then, add powdered sugar until you can form it into balls.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-2-2010-008.jpg

I helped Erin finish up the lemon.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-2-2010-010.jpg

Then you roll the mixture into little balls and refrigerate on a cookie sheet.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-2-2010-012.jpg

when they are chilled, melt some chocolate to dip the pudding eggs in.  We dipped the pistachio ones in milk chocolate.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-2-2010-015.jpg

Then do the same for the others.  We dipped the lemon ones in white chocolate.  Make sure to  refrigerate them again!

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-2-2010-016.jpg

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-2-2010-018.jpg

The finished product!

HAPPY EASTER!

Well, the Easter Bunny was here, and I am on a mission to find chocolate eggs!

Here is one on the branch of a pear tree!

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-4-2010-003.jpg

This one is cleverly hidden in the strawberry pot.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-4-2010-005.jpg

Hey Bear, do you know where I can find a chocolate egg?

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-4-2010-007.jpg

Maybe the bees know.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-4-2010-009.jpg

I found another one amongst the rhubarb!

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-4-2010-011.jpg

Cassiopeia found some as well!  Look at all of them!

I went to Vancouver to see some of the sights.

This is Waterfront Station, which is a huge transit exchange.  Here you can catch a commuter train, a SkyTrain, a SeaBus and buses.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-016.jpg

This is the Gastown Steam Clock, which is a huge tourist attraction.  It is entirely steam powered and was the first of its kind.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-014.jpg

This is Victory Square, Vancouver's war memorial.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-012.jpg

This colourful building has an interesting story.  The architect who designed it killed himself before the building was completed, and they say that his ghost haunts the central starcase.  Also, almost all of the windows are the same size, and apparently the view of the city from the mens' washroom on the top floor is amazing.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-013.jpg

The 'W' you can see is part of the new Woodwards building.  Originally it was a department store called Woodwards, but it went bankrupt in 1993.  It just opened a few months ago and now it is a satellite campus of Abby's school. Starting in the fall it will house the fine arts department.  It also has a grocery and drug store, art galleries and affordable housing.

Next I went to Chinatown.  This is called the Millenium Gate, or the Gate of Thousands' Happiness.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-001.jpg

Two lions guard the gate.  Originally they each held a round stone ball in their mouths as a sign of prosperity, but they have been stolen.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-002.jpg

This building holds the world record for the narrowest building in the world.  It was built by a man known to Vancouverites as Sam Kee.  At one point he owned more land in the area, but the city demolished his building to widen the road, leaving him with a strip of land just under five feet in width.  Rather than sell what remained of his property for practically nothing, Sam had another building built, one that fit into the strip of land.  For years the building belonged to a silk merchant, but now it's leased by an insurance company.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-003.jpg

This bell, called the West Han Dynasty Bell, is in Chinatown to commemorate Chinese history in Vancouver and marks the first Chinese settlement in the area.  It was a gift from Vancouver's sister city, Guangzhou in China, and it was modelled after a bell found in Guangzhou.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-010.jpg

This is the Dr Sun Yat Sen garden.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-004.jpg

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-005.jpg

You can usually find all sorts of animals in the garden.  Here are some large fish.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-19-2010-008.jpg

I played in the bamboo for a while before we went home.

It is a nice day out, so I decided to look at the flowers in Abby's garden.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-22-2010-003.jpg

My main mission was to look for flowers that are pink.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-22-2010-005.jpg

I climbed the maple tree.

I went to the Whonnock Rhododendron Sale.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-25-2010-002.jpg

I was hoping that we would buy some pink ones, but Abby said that they already have a lot of pink.  It was a little crazy in there and the good ones were going fast, so I only got pictures of the ones we bought.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-25-2010-004.jpg

In the building nearby they had different types of rhododendrons on display.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-25-2010-005.jpg

The pink ones were my favourite, of course.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-25-2010-006.jpg

It is amazing how different these flowers can be.  I found ones that were very small...

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-25-2010-007.jpg

And ones bigger than my head!

It was a beautiful day, so I went to have a look at one of the local dams.  Hydroelectricity is very big in British Columbia and they even sell power to the United States.

Stave Lake is above the dam.

There was all of this rock nearby.  I thought it looked interesting.

This is the back of the old Stave Falls Powerhouse.  It is now a museum, and you can just see the new powerhouse in the top left corner.

The valley beyond is quite pretty.  Can you see the boat on Hayward Lake?

This display is the top part of a huge transformer tower.  Can you see me in this picture?  That's how big it is.  (I am in the big x-shape that is toward the middle of the photo).  When complete, these structures are 27 metres tall.

Did you know that BC has its own Westminster Abbey?  It is nowhere near as grand as the one in England, but it is on top of a hill overlooking a valley and has a very interesting looking tower.

Granville Island is a downtown hot spot for local artists, and a very nice place to visit (It is also not a real island, but shhh!)

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-30-2010-002.jpg

Grnaville Island overlooks False Creek (it is an inlet).  In the distance you can see the Burrard St Bridge, which is in the art deco style.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-30-2010-004.jpg

the most popular place to visit is the market.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-30-2010-003.jpg

It is full of places to eat, local foods, crafts, cheeses, candy, flowers and many more things.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/April-30-2010-006.jpg

We stopped for lunch and I decided on Indian food.

Harrison is a very pretty town in the Fraser Valley and it is on the shores of Harrison Lake.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/May-9-2010-005.jpg

Harrison is known for its hot springs.  I was not there to use the springs, but I was interested in where the springs originate.  To find it we had to walk around one side of the lake.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/May-9-2010-007.jpg

There was a new trail, but we decided to take the old one, because it looked more interesting.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/May-9-2010-010.jpg

Can you see those boards nailed to the tree?  Powerlines once ran along the trail.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/May-9-2010-011.jpg

This is the view into the forest.  It is very West Coast.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/May-9-2010-019.jpg

I saw this old water tower...

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/May-9-2010-008.jpg

And went to have a closer look.  You can't really tell in the photo, but it was leaking hot water and there was steam coming out of the top.

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/May-9-2010-013.jpg

There were many large rocks lying around and some of them are so old that the trees have grown around them!

http://i436.photobucket.com/albums/qq85/abbystoyvoyagers/Nasse/May-9-2010-021.jpg

Finally we came to the source.  There used to be a bath house here, but it burned down.

Hi MOM!!

I already arrived Bangkok, Thailand  :D. The weather here is very hot. Prim just introduced me to some for her toys, hope that we can be good friends during my visit here.

http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac180/chekunn/IMG_0691-1.jpg

Then, I met Prim's son - Muk - 15 years old dog. It's almost midnight, so he is sleeping. Actually Prim said he always sleeps and eats  B)

http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac180/chekunn/26052010279.jpg

Now it's time to go to bed. Here is my bed...not bad :D

http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac180/chekunn/IMG_0724.jpg

Prim said I can go to her office tomorrow but not sure if she will have time to show me around since she is very busy right now.

Good night mom...I think I have jet lag

Hi Mom,

Today I went to office with Prim. Before we left, we said good bye to Muk.

http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac180/chekunn/27052010280.jpg

There are a lot of plants in the house  :) Prim's grandma is taking care of them. I think I will walk around the house later.

http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac180/chekunn/27052010282.jpg

It's almost 11am, but the traffic was still bad. When a car stopped, I had a chance to take some photos.

Halooo mummie~~

Today is Visakhapuja Day. People always go to temples but not Prim. Prim needed to pick her friend at the hospital, so we left home early.

Quote:
Visakhapuja Day is one of the most important days in Buddhism because of three important incidents in the life of The Buddha, i.e. the birth, the enlightenment and the passing away, miraculously fall on the same month and date. This day reminds Buddhists the important of Lord Buddha's teachings, both spiritually and socially.
Visakhapuja Day is recognized by the UNESCO in December 1999 as "World Heritage Day".

We drove thru small tunnels. The traffic was good today because it's holiday morning.

Hi mummy,

Yesterday Prim got a car crash when she was on the way back home. I was also in a car B) A truck hit and ran away. We were okay but needed to report to a police for insurance claim. So today we came to a police station. While Prim was reporting her accident, we took some photos with a police car.

This is our car~~

Hello,

Today we went to "Ancient City" (in Thai called Muang Boran) B)

Quote:
Taking up 320 acres of land, roughly in the shape of Thailand, the huge park reproduces -- usually on a smaller scale -- important buildings from around Thailand. There are over 100 monuments collected or reproduced. Some of them are reconstructions of buildings that no longer exist. Other buildings are examples of traditional vernacular architecture that were scheduled to be demolished and instead were purchased by the Ancient City, dismantled and reconstructed in the park.

Ancient City is very large so we used a tram to look around.

Hi mom,

Today we went to Prim's High School for jogging. She told me she graduated from here 12 years ago!! There are so much changes but Buddha image at school still remains the same as the old day.

http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac180/chekunn/7_Aug_2010/070820101086.jpg

Beautiful lotus  :D

http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac180/chekunn/7_Aug_2010/070820101089.jpg

There are also sculptures of main characters in a Thai famous literature - Phra Abhai Mani. This literature was wrote around 190 years ago. It's a kind of love and fantasy story.

These are Phra Abhai Mani and the Mermaid (one of his wife)

http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac180/chekunn/7_Aug_2010/070820101093.jpg

It is the Sea Giantess who is also his wife

http://i897.photobucket.com/albums/ac180/chekunn/7_Aug_2010/070820101092.jpg

I found a website which translated the story into English briefly. You can take a look, if interested  :D

Phra Aphai Mani

Then, we went to a temple next to the school. I saw a very big pig!!

Hi mum ! I came to Finland today.
My host had almost forgotten me!

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff40/NatinaS/Aste/IMG_7477.jpg

But when the package opened and she saw me ...

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff40/NatinaS/Aste/IMG_7478.jpg

... she remembered me right away!

My host have a wonderful dog, it is a Chinese Crested dog named Pluto.

http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff40/NatinaS/Aste/IMG_7481.jpg

Pluto was a little embarrassed of me and left shortly after taking the picture away from me.

My host says I have entered just brilliant time! We are leaving tomorrow morning at the earliest Finnish capital city Helsinki.
We are told that time to look at buildings and landscapes.
We are going to the big fairs, interior design, called the Habitare.

Hey Mom, today we were at the fair!
We woke up early in the morning and went by bus to Helsinki.

I drink my  host  friend cocoa at the fair.

After cocoa I went to the dentist's office.
It was a new design.I think that I was first one in that chair.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff40/NatinaS/IMG_7554.jpg

There was a lot of new Desing furniture.
My host gave me to try them out.
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff40/NatinaS/IMG_7598.jpg
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff40/NatinaS/IMG_7599.jpg

Eight-hour, then began exhausted by!
http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff40/NatinaS/IMG_7584.jpg

It was my day in interior design at the fair!
And now I'm here to host visiting and writing to you.
