Poppy the Dog, Mayaro, Trinidad

Posted Jan 2, 2009, 4:04 pm
Hi everyone!

I'm Poppy, a cute puppet dog who wants to travel the world! As such as my best friend Puppy the Cat - which is unfortunately lost forever :(, my menthor found me in a handicraft market and bring me home. I'm ready to go out and meet new people and visit new places!
My dearest Puppy started her adventure today, and despite all my menthor's love, I'm really feeling alone. Lilian told me I have some hosts already, and next week I'll travel too! I just can't wait for this!

Here are my pics, with Puppy and at my hometown mall last Xmas:

I hope find more hosts and know all the world!  :D

5.Eshara-HERE NOW!!

Now I'm travelling with my new friend, Miss Plum.

Well, today is the day! A couple days after Puppy starts its journey, it's my time to go! I'm going to France right now and I just can't wait to meet Erin!  :cyclops:

My menthor said I have SIX hosts already! It's just GREAT!

Before pack my stuff and prepare to my big adventure, I met a new friend Lilian brought home: is a white tiger, so much bigger than me!
At first I was scared, but actually he's very lovely. I loved our new buddy!

My menthor didn't decide yet if he'll become a Toy Voyager, but he seems to be very excited when I told him about Puppy and me! He said he prefers stay at home right now, cause he's very tired and being abandoned in a sale box on Carrefour was not a big deal.

So I wished him the best and take my stuff to go, after take a big HUG from everyone.

(Showin'everyone tigers and dogs can be good friends)

Voilà! See ya in France! HERE I COME!  B)

woah!!! time goes soooooo fast!!!

i already made it to germany  after a lovely time in france i arrived safetly at my host's parents house in the same time as my host tina. she was coming from zwickau and welcomed me with a big hug  ;) also she said, she will travel to prague (czech republic) next week and can you guess her companion??? of course... its m e  :D i'm sooooooooo excited

but now i need a little nap and maybe i will spent some time in the snow tomorrow...

and here a pic with tina's animals (they are too scared to travel  :stare: )

Posted Feb 27, 2009, 10:09 pm

today i spent a short time at in the snow!!! well... the snow is melting very well and its all time raining

at the evening i helped tina to write postcards via postcrossing. she said, i'm a good writer!

Posted Mar 8, 2009, 6:47 pm

what a busy week!!! it was soooooo awesome in prague!!! so, lets start from the beginning:

on monday we went by the train to prague. it was a long and old train. you have to know, this train goes from berlin, germany to budapest, hungary! can you believe this? sitting the whole day in a train? but we traveled only from dresden, germany to prague!

so, on the first day we didn't do soooo much! only shopping in a very big mall  tina said, she never saw so a big mall in germany (of course she some similar malls in the usa). for dinner we had yummy pizza! in the dark of the old town of prague we did a little ghost-tour! it was sooooo scary! i rathered to stay in tina's jacket to be safe! and this was a very good decision, because there were people behind the corner to scare us!

oh, we went by the subway in prague. there are some very long and very steep escalators (maybe you can't see it on this picture so much, but i've never saw so a big escalator):

ok... second day - sightseeing day! the weather was very very bad! but hey, we had fun! and here are some picz now:

me at the astronomical clock:

and the old town square right next to the clock:

after that we walked to the famous charles bridge

luzie (tina's toy voyager) and me at the charles bridge (in the back, right corner you can see a part of the prague castle):

and we and the vltava river:

so you saw the large prague castle at the back of one of this pictures... so we walked over there, up the hill but we had not so a big view of the city of prague  :(

st. vitus cathedral is situated entirely within the prague castle complex:

so... we walked a lot around in prague and after a quite nap at the hostel we walked to the wenceslas square and in the back you can see the national museum. it's a very busy and long street but has a lots of famous shops there too

on our third day we went by train again. but this time back home. but the train was late so we had to wait a long time at the cold train station  :(

but hey! we had a really fun and great time there! and i'm glad, tina took me with her  B)

after a nice nap with maxwell the cat

tina, her parents and of course me did a little walk. it was very windy and a lil' bit rainy:

so, we had a lot of chestnuts with us, to feed the wild animals, like the deers. hope, they will like it:

could you imagine, until one week before today there were a lot of snow on this field:

and a little view on the very small and quite town lengefeld in the middle of the ore mountains:

Posted Mar 18, 2009, 5:47 pm

so i had a sleepy week, but there are still few things i discovered  ;)

tina is really doing a work out every day, so tried it.... but you see... my legs are way too short  :stare:

tina is also listening all time to mando diao!!! this is a swedish band and they released a new album 'give me fire'. and know you what? i really like it too!!! so we both enjoy the songs:

besides listening music, tina is reading harry potter - again! she never read the seventh book, so she will read now all seven books in a row! so she told me about harry and the story. right now she is reading the second book, harry potter and the chamber of secrets :

outside, we forgot to take picz with all the chicken and rabbits... but in the neighbours garden, there are animals, that are not so often in german gardens ;-) and hey... they had a loooooong way to go to come here (like me)... they are called alpacas!!!

so, after this week tina had to go back to zwickau because the semester break was over and we were going by tinas car... and i had a great seat... right next to malik!!!

Posted Mar 21, 2009, 3:14 pm

so over the week tina and me did walks to the sights of zwickau  B) on some days the weather was really bad, but we waited a little while and here are some picz:

so here you can see a little map of the city of zwickau:

this picture was taken on tinas balcony: there is a real big construction site. tina told me, they will build a park there. you have to know, behind the construction site der is the mulde river

me at the mulde river:

right next to the mulde river is the osterstein castle:

1810 in zwickau was born the famous composer robert schumann (the right guy)

so, there is a statue about him:

this is the st. mary church:

last but not least this is the 'schiffchen', this is a house, that looks like a ship (if you stand in front of a ship). and behind you can also see st. mary again.

Posted Mar 22, 2009, 3:49 pm
also we did a walk around the 'schwanenteich', a pond in the middle of zwickau. its very beautiful there.

also there is a lot of ducks there and i think only one swan  :stare:

on the way around the pond you can see various birds, like this wonderful pheasant:

and here i am with horses:

and finally: tina and me at the schanenteich:

hello I arrived today in Rotterdam, the Netherlands at Dandilion her house.

I made a good travel from Germany, but I feel a bit tired so I am off to get some sleep

Posted Apr 2, 2009, 9:01 pm

Wow I am in the big city: Rotterdam!

Leonie and me were on the bicycle going home and we stopped to enjoy the lovely day and the Rotterdam bridges and skyline.

The castle shape type building in the back once was the highest! Can you imagine today with all the high rise surrounding the 'Witte  Huis (white house)?

it's time to leave... i know, i'm a little bit late, but look at this snowstorm (well... this pic isn't good at all):

i didn't want to go outside on this weather... but tina promised, i will stay save at my journey to the netherlands... yeah, netherlands... i'm really excited  :cyclops:

but now i have to wave a big goodbye to tina and her friends

goodbye germany, welcome netherlands!!!

I came accross these two fluffy rabbits in Leonie her house.
Hello miss Pebbles, Hi Poppy the dog :-)

I stayed with them for some dinner.. I didnt really like it.. it was dried grass... not a nice piece of meat for a puppy like me :-)

I was so thirsty I needed some water.

I was with Leonie and her boyfriend Richard on a trip to Belgium we were there at the Easter weekend.
I was in Brugge (Bruges) and Gent.

Bruges is a lovely medieval place. You can see I enjoyed myself looking around all the old buildings at the canals, the churches and other places of interest.

We visited many UNESCO sights.

Bruges has most of its medieval architecture intact. The historic centre of Bruges is a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000.

Many of its medieval buildings are notable, including the Church of Our Lady, whose brick spire — at 122m — makes it one of the world's highest brick towers/buildings.

This Church was wrapped up as you can see on my 1st picture.

The sculpture Madonna and Child, which can be seen in the transept, is believed to be Michelangelo's only sculpture to have left Italy within his lifetime.

Bruges is also famous for its thirteenth-century belfry, housing a municipal carillon comprising 47 bells. The city still employs a full-time carillonneur, who gives free concerts on a regular basis.

In Gent we visited the 'Lam Gods painting, a very religous painting by the brothers van Eyck.

more information about it :http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghent_Altarpiece

Again a pretty view of this time a river in Gent.
I enjoyed it, whole day sunshine!

We even visited a catsle in the middle of the city!
I was the castle of "Gravensteen' from the medieval time.

A view of the "Vrijdagmarkt" square in Gent with Leonie she's wearing yellow shirt and blue backpack. I am tucked away in there so you cant spot me on this one.

:o :oI decided to go on holiday with Leonie... destination is a surprise for you.  :DI am back at the end of April, till then....
Doei (bye in dutch) lots of cuddles your puppy, Poppy

hello here are my photos from my holiday trip with Leonie

the surprise destination was  SINGAPORE

I had a great time there! We walked around exporing the different areas of the city. Went to see tenthousands birds in the Birdpark. Went up and close to animals at the zoo and much much more.

dont I look good next to the merlion?

It was nice to be at the waterside and cool off a bit, you must know we were right next tp the equator its very hot in Singapore and very humid.

One day we visited the zoo where I saw animals I could not have dreamt of like these weird monkees

ground squirel and us three crazy animals

the city view, amazingly high buildings hey?

hello hello can you spot me among all these toys?

I am at the miniature park Madurodam in the Hague (Den Haag) with Leonie and her postcrossing/toy voyagers friends. I meet up with Blackcat and Marjolein who also host toys like me, they took so many toys with them.

Some of the toys told me they would go into the wild world by them selve. I saw some wonder off alone and I wish them a safe journey!
One toy asked me to join him.. but mommy to be honest I was scared about going away on my own, so I hurried back into Leonie her bag to stay safely with her.
Luckily for me I was with roo and kakuch.

I am so little still everything was too big for me!

It was hot there! We had so much fun together. We started off in Alexandria. We stayed there a couple of days, exploring the city and went on some excursions.

It was such a hot day when the bunch of us visited the Pyramids:

Today was Trinidad & Tobago's 48th Independence day so my host had a day off!

Miss Plum and I got to bask in the warmth and sunlight from the window. It certainly is very green all over!

We had a lovely pasta lunch (and we got to eat ON THE BED...shhhhh) and watched one of my host's favorite movies, Twilight! It was such an exciting movie!

We all got to look at the awesome collection of postcards she has from all over the world! WOW!
She loves Postcrossing (exchanging postcards with others) and keeps a log of all her cards and has them nicely put in albums!

And tomorrow...we get to go to work with her at the bank!!! YAY!!!

I shall post more photos for you to see then!

Until then, g'night!!! <3
