Wow, that's gone fast. Yesterday I get registered and today I'm on the way to my very first travel adventure. My Mom told me, I have to hide in a small envelope, that would be cheaper for me then booking a plane ticket. She has ideas!! She will never know how it feels, to get a post stamp on her ass. So, anyway, I'm on the way to The Netherlands now and I hope, finally to come out of this envelope again. It really sucks. But someone told me, it won't be the last time for me. Unfortunately, I feel so alone. Hello?? Is there anybody out here?????  Heeeeelllppp!!!!

Hi mom!

Here i am again! First of all: my trip was luckely for me not so long and thank you for my sleepingbag because it was very cold.
The soon i arrived i jumped out of the envelope and start asking my host were we going to. But Eva said i have to calm down because it was late and introduced me to Chompers. He's a sweet dog and we talked about his experience here in Holland. The more he told, the more excited i get about this trip. He saw mills, played funny games in the forest, eat al kind of delicious stuff etc. I couldn't sleep at night because i was very inspired about this al.

This morning i finally felt into a deep sleep and Eva let me because otherwise i haven't enough energy to do things today.
Mirdin, the boy who lived here went to his playgroup this morning. Eva and i talked about music a lot and she also loves rock music so we talked for hours.
Finally it was time to pick up Mirdin and Eva toke me with her and her ex husband because they have a tradition to celebrate a new tv arrived: eat at the dutch Mac Donalds.

Now i'm gonna help Eva decided what to wear tommorow because she have a date :)

Bye bye!

Hi there!

Eva had her date yesterday. What she didn't know was that i sneaky crawled into her bag. But Eva had a gastroenteritis so she decided to stay at home. I climb out of her bag and between us: it was a releive to come out of it. It is small and dark in there and remind me of my envelope experience wich i found a little bit traumatic. We were sitting on the table and saw it all hihi because the boy came to her home.

That night we hearded the mail man. We were all very curious what he brougt us and i immidiately recognise that kind of envelope.
I couldn't understand it because the TV that was sitting in the envelope was scared to come out of it so i shouted: come out! It is very exciting here!
At that moment we saw a little head came out of it.

http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/chomperstheonelly004.jpg

We comfort him and asked him who he is and what his goals are.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/chomperstheonelly003.jpg

Meet Nelly
It is a sweet guy and i liked him from the first minute i saw him.
Because of all the talking we were getting very hungry and Eva made us a real nice pizza
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/chomperstheonelly005.jpg

That night Chompers told us about a dutch progam on the television. It is called Idols en Chompers told us it is very excited to watch because the semi finals were on it. He was right. Three very delicious girls were singing so beautifull and i fel in love with al three of them. I was wondering if humans can fel in love with sheeps but i guess not  :(
We couldn't decided wich girl must left the show. Everybody, even the host, cried when we heared wich girl it was.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/chomperstheonelly006.jpg

Because we were all very emotional we decided to sleep together in one bed.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/chomperstheonelly007.jpg

Today Eva learned us some dutch words
Hello= Hallo
Bye= Doeg or Doei
I love you= Ik hou van jou
Hugs= Knuffels
Sheep= Schaap

That's al i need to know when i make my moves in the dutch girly sheeps here  ;)

Eva is going to learn us ride on a bike today. I'm very excited about this!

Ik hou van je Mummy and keep you posted. I write down some things for you in my passport

O my god, riding on a bike is cool!
Fortunate for me the bike has wheels on his frame because otherwise i think i fal. And i don't think that falling on the street is a nice feeling.
When i climb on the bike a immidiately start riding and Eva wasn't expect that. Before she know i was gone. I heard here calling my name and she run after me. I was laughing so hard  :D
But Eva didn't see the joke and was a little bit mad.
Now she also can laugh about it but at the moment she told me the danger of it. I fright about what she told me. If i didn't watch out i can ride under a car  :o

So after that shock i listen to her very good because i didn't want to hurt myself.

Look at me mum! Do i look cool or what?

Todays the day: i went to a coffeeshop with Eva. Mirdin was with his father and that gave us the opportunity to go.

I was a little bit nervous but it was fun to be there. The people there were very slow and talk even slower.

The rules....

Eva let me smoke a little bit and i felt strange after that. I was very relax and calm and everything was cool.

We went to the playground with Eva, Chompers, Theo, Mirdin and her ex husband and i found everything fantastic. Because of the feeling i get from smoking it was much more fun than ever before in my live!

Hello!

Yesterday was a rainy day. We looked outside the window all day long hoping for some sunshine.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/tvsenoorbel001.jpg

Later that evening it finally stopped raining.
Eva read us a bedtime story called Dikke Dik. It's a funny story about a fat lazy red cat. In the story they play hide and seek and nobody can find Dikkie Dik. After look every where in the house they find him sleeping in a laundry-basket . They all got tired and decided to sleep togheter in the basket.

Today we decided to go to Bergen aan Zee. It's a village near the sea. Bergen is known as an artistic village. It is near the sea and in the spring and summer there are a lot of tourists. You can find there a rune of a church and maybe we visit that later this week or next week. On our way to the beach we drove trought 'De eeuwige laan'. It's on of the most expensive streets in the Netherlands. We saw some of the houses there and they are big and beautifull to see. When you see those houses you automaticely start dreaming about live there. Eva told us that the people who live in that houses got their own private piece of forest. But you must be very rich to buy a house in that street. Unfortunally we couldn't get the houses on a picture but here we are in the car watching it:
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/tvsenoorbel002.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/tvsenoorbel003.jpg

Here we drove on a street called De zeeweg. It's a long street that leads us to the beach and a little village
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/tvsenoorbel004.jpg
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/tvsenoorbel005.jpg

We finally arived and walked to the beach. But there was a fortuitous case: the wind. Mirdin start crying and we also cried because we al got scared the wind blow us away. The sea lookes wild so we decided to play somewere else with our bucket and shovel.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/tvsenoorbel006.jpg

We went to the duines instead and there it was not so windy and we played for a while
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/tvsenoorbel007.jpg

After that we went to Egmond aan Zee. You got some lovely stores there and we buy some souvenirs to send home.

We also saw a lighthouse. Wow, that's a high building!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/tvsenoorbel010.jpg

Eva told us that tommorow we are gonna eat kroketten. I'm very curious how that taste!

Big hugs Theo
Eryah

Posted Feb 29, 2008, 4:25 pm
Hello!

First i wanna show you a kroket and a frikandel. Both are typical dutch snacks. They taste delicious and if you ever go visit Holland you must eat it.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/zeeaquarium001.jpg

Today we went to Alkmaarderhout. This park is a part of an old forest with many old trees. You will find an animal farm and the prison.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/zeeaquarium002.jpg

We wanna see animals but unfortunately the animal farm was closed. We can only see them trought the gates.
The sheeps and goats were inside so we couldn't see them at all but the deers were outside
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/zeeaquarium005.jpg

Look at this beautifull antlers. I'm a little bit jealous right now. I want such angtlers too!
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/zeeaquarium003.jpg

Because the animal farm was closed we decided to go to the Zee aquarium in Bergen aan Zee. Here you have some information about the fish there.

Many fish are as big as a child, because of their size they seem to be very dangerious, but do not harm. Of course the sharks are a different story, watch out for them. Have you noticed that some of these big boys have gloomy colours? They need these dark shades to hunt for other fish. With too many colours their prey can see them coming from a mile away. But there are also fish that need these sharp colours to scare their enemies from them. The Scorpion fish, for example, is a fish that the others stay away from; one sting from this one could mean the end of their life.

An average crayon box does not have enough to paint all of the fish. That's how many shades there are. In the Zee aquarium they have a fish (actually it's a mammal) that does not need much colouring; this is the sperm whale skeleton, it's size is almost 15 meters long and the largest creature in the aquarium.

We sit down for a while and talked about the goals we have.

Hello!

Today we went to the dunes of Petten.
You have an area there were you can walk and enjoy the nature out there.
There is also a nuclear facility in Petten. It is meant for research and doesn't give electricity. But we only see the facility from a distance.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/petten007.jpg

We take Dharma with us and today was the first day we try to let him walk on a leading string. It was great because he immediately start walking with us and you can see he enjoyed it to walk for himself instead of being carried around.
http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b65/Eryah/toyvoyagers/petten004.jpg

In the end we watched the vieuw from the dunes. You can see a lot from up there. They have a lot of fields full with flower bulbs. Eva told us that in the spring you can see a lot of flowers and it's an explosion off colours.

HAPPY EASTER!
Today it's Easter Monday and Pandamao went to this little town in the Oberpfalz to see her dad and she took me along.
We walked along the street and wondered what was going on in that little park opposite. When we came closer we saw that it was an "Easter fountain". In this part of Bavaria it's the custom to decorate the fountains with Easter eggs. There must be hundreds or thousands of eggs here. They really look beautiful.

I did some more sight-seeing today and went to the area where the Hofbräuhaus is located. The first photo shows the Orlando House and then I pose in the front of the nearby Hofbräuhaus. It is a huuuuuuuge beerhall.
I also met some local bears. We had a nice conversation about TVs and traveling the world but the Bavarian bears did not want to join. Seems, that they would miss their Sunday morning beer Stammtisch (regulars' table) at the Hofbräuhaus too much.

Our host is very interested in herbs so we helped her to search for them. We found lots of blooming wild violets and helped our host to pick them because she wanted to make sirup of them. If we would not have helped her she surely would have needed a long time to fill the small container.
Later we also found woodruff which will be dried and used for tea and food flavouring.

Yesterday we had sorrel soup for dinner (delicious!!) and today we used the herbs for chickweed salad, then deadnettle lasagna and wild herb quiche ... I could not resist and tried every single dish. For the quiche I helped to collect more than 10 herbs: chickweed, deadnettle, silverweed, yarrow, sorrel, stinging nettle, dandelion, meadow sweet, ribwort, beech leaves, daisies, chervil, violet leaves .... I think that's about all of them. And all of the dishes were really tasting great.  :p

This afternoon our host decided to go to the Salvation Army to look for teddy bears. She told us that there was a new TV named ThreadBear who was collecting teddy bears for children in South Africa.  :D

When she returned home she had a bag full of animals. She said that they needed a bath and a snack before they can be sent to South Africa. We asked if we could meet them. She said yes but told us not to be surprised if they didn't answer us. Boy was she wrong! We asked them questions and everyone was answering at the same time. We knew this was going to be tough.

We wanted to see what it was like to get a wash and dry at our host's house. We wished everyone luck because we hear that dryers are known to eat socks.  Who knows what will happen to stuffed animals.  Our host promised that everyone who went in for a wash and dry would come back.

Not a whole lot has been going on here lately. The weather has been terrible! Our host said she wanted to take us a couple of places but that she hasn't been able to because of the rain. We wanted to see for ourselves.  :( Our host was right, it's raining outside. So to keep us busy we decided to watch some DVD's. We couldn't agree on one title so we were going to watch 3 different ones.

This evening we took a ride over to New Hartford, NY because our host was looking for a cookbook to take with her tomorrow. First we stopped at Target to see if they had what she was looking for. It turned out that they didn't have what she was looking for so it was on to the next store.

After Target we went to Wal-Mart to see if they had the cookbook our host was looking for. Again they didn't have it! Our host's husband said that we should go to the bookstore, but our host said that she was being cheap and didn't want to pay the high prices at the bookstore.  So we left to go one more place before heading home. At the intersection leaving Wal-Mart our host spotted a rainbow! She was hoping that she could get to the next shop before the rainbow disappeared.

We made it just in time to see the rainbow from a different spot. It was beautiful! Our host couldn't believe how fast the sky went from blue and open to gray and cloudy. Maybe a storm was coming!

Everyone was caught up with seeing the rainbow we had forgotten that we had one more shop to visit. We went to Toys R Us. Our host was looking for a Care Bear and other stuffed animals. Sadly she didn't find what she was looking for. Her husband told her that Care Bears aren't as popular as they used to be. She didn't want to hear it! It's back to our host's home for some dinner and rest. We've been told that tomorrow will be a busy an eventful day.

This afternoon we went to the Turning Stone Casino as part of Michele's birthday gift. We were going to see Chef Tyler Florence! Our host told us that she has never been here before and that this is her second time ever going to a casino. It was a warm and beautiful day, what a shame that we would be spending it inside.

Our host tried to take as many pictures as she could but it was really dark and we were close to the back of the room. Never the less it smelled great in there! Tyler made grilled pizza with fresh mozzarella cheese, home made spaghetti and meatballs and panna cotta for dessert! Too bad we didn't get to try any.  :( For some reason only people in the front were able to sample his food. Oh well!

After the show was over Tyler signed some autographs, but only on his cookbooks. Our host was thrilled! She said this was the best birthday she's ever had.  :D

Today is our host's birthday! Her husband bought her a birthday cake with Care Bears on it. After dinner we posed by the cake then Michele said that we could each take a bite.  :p Some of us took bigger bites then others. It was sweet and delicious!

Today is Memorial Day in the USA. Our host explained to us that Memorial Day commemorates U.S. men and women who perished while in military service to their country. Our host also told us that Memorial is the start of "summer" for a lot of people. We went to Wal-Mart today to pick up our host's grill. Too bad it didn't arrive sooner or we could of had a BBQ for dinner. Maybe next weekend!

A new TV arrived today and we were all so excited to see who it is! It turned out to be Resi. She's a cute little squirrel. Of course we welcomed her to the group. Hopefully we didn't frighten her.

Another TV arrived today! We were excited to see who it might be...Our host opened the envelope and inside was one of her TV's Gilbert! He was cute but very shy. He seemed happy to be home and our host seemed very happy to see him.

Today we took a little drive to visit our host's in laws.  Michele said that she doesn't like going to their house but that she goes for her husband. They live in a town called Potsdam. It's rural so there isn't much if anything to do there. At least we got to tag along...

Tonight we were going to sleep in an RV! Michele's in laws don't have a guest bedroom so it's either we sleep in the RV or in the car. Michele said she was not sleeping in the car! Since Daryl and Michele weren't tired they decided to play card games. We were excited because we could play too. Gilbert, Muumipeikko and Bellatrix help shuffle the cards. Pebbels, Resi, Willy Wau and HitchaRideMo helped deal, while Mausi and I gave you a card on your turn (if you needed one).

Finally it was morning! Michele was up early getting everything ready to load into the car. One would think that she didn't want to be at her in laws any longer.  :) We all sat on the couch in the RV and waited to be loaded into her bag.

It's been a slow and boring week for us. Our host has been trying to find a job and going on interviews so she hasn't had a lot of extra time for us.

Tonight she told us how sorry she was. To try and make up for it she gave us some ice cream! Ice Cream is pretty good but we told her that she will have to do better than that.

It's been a pretty uneventful week! Our host has been searching for  a job so we've had to fend for ourselves lately. It's been okay since there are a couple of TV's here.

Today it was SOOO hot out! Our host's husband put the air conditioner in so we didn't over heat. Since it was so hot they decided to grill instead of cooking inside. Thank goodness!  For dinner our host's husband made hamburger patties and we got to watch. It was interesting....He added all different types of ingredients and sauces, it sure smelled delicious!

We didn't dare go outside in the heat to help with the hamburgers. Michele said that her husband will take care of it. Phew.... :)

Once everything was ready we gathered at the table for a bit of the burger. We were told that if you are going to eat something unhealthy then you also need to eat something healthy. The salad was okay, but the burger was out of this world!!! Michele's husband is a good cook (shh...don't tell him though).  ;)

After dinner Michele's husband asked if we wanted to go outside and toast marshmallows? We really had to think about it since it was so hot but we decided that it would be fun. Boy, when you add the heat of the grill to the temperature it's unbearable! We got a little help and we were thankful! The marshmallows were warm and gooey.... It's just what you need to get your fur tangled.  :) Luckily that didn't happen to any of us.

As we were getting ready to go back inside we saw a little squirrel on the porch. Since Resi was the only one who could speak squirrel, we sent her to talk to him.

It took her awhile to tell us what he was saying to her. Finally after begging her she told us that his name is Chipper. She said that she's in love!!!  WHAT? Someone yelled you just met him how do you know that your in love? Oh no! Our host asked him if he wanted to come inside so we can get to know him better.

This morning our host was cleaning in her spare/computer room when she yelled "OH NO!" We had no idea what could be wrong but she came out carrying a small box. She told us that she received this box a few days ago and put it in the spare room when her mom came to visit.

There was a long pause that was filled with guilt and sadness! She told us that there is a TV in the box!  She quickly opened the box to see who was in there...... We were all expecting the worst but 2 pink ears popped up. It took awhile but finally we saw that it was Candy Cotton! Everyone was able to breath a sigh of relief. Candy Cotton was healthy and well, she told us that she slept a lot and read her travel journal to pass the time.

This evening we decided to play Disney Monopoly. It was SO much fun! Gilbert, Bellatrix and I were one team and Candy Cotton, Willy Wau and Resi (and Chipper) were the other team. We used Nemo as our token and the other team used Sully and Boo.

Sadly after a few hours of playing we weren't doing so well. We had a lot of property with traffic cones (houses) but they weren't landing on them very often. But of course we kept landing on their properties.

In the end we lost!

For some reason it was cool out today! We aren't complaining after all of the hot weather we've experienced lately. For lunch we shared some ramen noodles with our host. They were yummy but a little difficult for us to eat.

Our host got a new job recently and today we got to ride in the car with her to the studio where she will train. It was raining out and we heard on the radio that it was supposed to rain all day.

Today we said goodbye to Bellatrix, Willy Wau, Gilbert and Ronnie N Hammie. It was sad to see some many go at once, but it was for the best.
