Eryah Posted Feb 24, 2008, 12:44 pm	Hi there! After a short trip i arrived in Alkmaar yesterday. I was i little bit scared to come out of the envelope because i heard voices. But they told me that everything was allright. One voice shouted it was excited to come out because it's much fun here. I decided to crawl carefully out of it and immediately saw two other TV's. I felt releived because they were very nice to me and they asked me to sit with them and talk about who i am and what my goals are This are Chompers and Theosheep We talked for a while and Eva make us a real nice pizza because we were al very hungry That night Chompers told us about a program on the dutch television. It is called Idols and he said it is very excited to watch because the semi finals were on it. He was right. It was fun to see and the three girls were singing beautifull. I couldn't decide wich girl must left the show and everybody cried even the host of the show. After that we were al very emtional and decided to all sleep in one bed. Mummy, it is great here and i made such good friends. I miss you but i'm also very happy to do this and meet other people and TV's. Today Eva decided to learn us a few dutch words. Hello=Hallo Bye= Doeg or Doei I love you= Ik hou van jou Hugs= knuffel Sheep= Schaap (Theo want to now this) Ik hou van je Mummy and keep you posted! Today Eva is going to learn us ride on a bike. Eryah Posted Feb 24, 2008, 5:05 pm	Hi mum! It was scary! But i also love to do it! Fortunate for me the bike has wheels on the frame. So i kept well in balance. Look at me mum! When i'm home a want a bike for myself. You feel the wind and you can go fast if you want. I notice that in Holland they do not wear helmets for your safety. Everybody here rides on a bike and the people learn it to there children almost before they can walk. I looked my eyes out. We eat a delicious salad and a vegetarian burger. It was a little bit strange to eat because you expect meat. It even look likes beaf. But it was nice. Mummy i'm now gonna write in my diary and Eva promised me that were gonna get some things i can put in it to keep the memory alive Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Feb 25, 2008, 5:44 pm	Hi mummy! Today we went to the playground and it was so much fun! They had a swing, slide etc etc so i couldn't decide what to do first. I tried everything! Today i met Mirdin, the little boy who lives here to. He's a very sweet 3,5 years old boy and i think we can be good friends. Tommorow he's coming home. He was with his dad today and we visit them. Eryah Posted Feb 27, 2008, 3:06 pm	Hello! Yesterday was a rainy day. We looked outside the window all day long hoping for some sunshine. Later that evening it finally stopped raining. Eva read us a bedtime story called Dikke Dik. It's a funny story about a fat lazy red cat. In the story they play hide and seek and nobody can find Dikkie Dik. After look every where in the house they find him sleeping in a laundry-basket . They all got tired and decided to sleep togheter in the basket. Today we decided to go to Bergen aan Zee. It's a village near the sea. Bergen is known as an artistic village. It is near the sea and in the spring and summer there are a lot of tourists. You can find there a rune of a church and maybe we visit that later this week or next week. On our way to the beach we drove trought 'De eeuwige laan'. It's on of the most expensive streets in the Netherlands. We saw some of the houses there and they are big and beautifull to see. When you see those houses you automaticely start dreaming about live there. Eva told us that the people who live in that houses got their own private piece of forest. But you must be very rich to buy a house in that street. Unfortunally we couldn't get the houses on a picture but here we are in the car watching it: Here we drove on a street called De zeeweg. It's a long street that leads us to the beach and a little village We finally arived and walked to the beach. But there was a fortuitous case: the wind. Mirdin start crying and we also cried because we al got scared the wind blow us away. The sea lookes wild so we decided to play somewere else with our bucket and shovel. We went to the duines instead and there it was not so windy and we played for a while After that we went to Egmond aan Zee. You got some lovely stores there and we buy some souvenirs to send home. We also saw a lighthouse. Wow, that's a high building! Eva told us that tommorow we are gonna eat kroketten. I'm very curious how that taste! Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Feb 29, 2008, 4:16 pm	Hello! First i wanna show you a kroket and a frikandel. Both are typical dutch snacks. They taste delicious and if you ever go visit Holland you must eat it. Today we went to Alkmaarderhout. This park is a part of an old forest with many old trees. You will find an animal farm and the prison. We wanna see animals but unfortunately the animal farm was closed. We can only see them trought the gates. The sheeps and goats were inside so we couldn't see them at all but the deers were outside Look at this beautifull antlers. I'm a little bit jealous right now. I want such angtlers too! Because the animal farm was closed we decided to go to the Zee aquarium in Bergen aan Zee. Here you have some information about the fish there. Many fish are as big as a child, because of their size they seem to be very dangerious, but do not harm. Of course the sharks are a different story, watch out for them. Have you noticed that some of these big boys have gloomy colours? They need these dark shades to hunt for other fish. With too many colours their prey can see them coming from a mile away. But there are also fish that need these sharp colours to scare their enemies from them. The Scorpion fish, for example, is a fish that the others stay away from; one sting from this one could mean the end of their life. An average crayon box does not have enough to paint all of the fish. That's how many shades there are. In the Zee aquarium they have a fish (actually it's a mammal) that does not need much colouring; this is the sperm whale skeleton, it's size is almost 15 meters long and the largest creature in the aquarium. Look! Mirdin is caress a skate! It was a pretty long day so i'm gonna rest now for a while. Big Hugs, Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 1, 2008, 7:50 pm	Hello! Last night there was a terrible storm in Holland. I got a little bit scared so Eva offered me to sleep in her bed. Today Eva visit friends of her and i go with her. We watched spiderman the movie. I found it a nice movie and dreamt about being a superhero also. Saving the world and find my dreamgirl who fall in love in me... That sound great, isn't it? Eva bought some delicious easter egs and we eat a lot of it! I'm a little bit nauseous right now but when you begin eating you can't stop anymore. I made a new friend today. Nadja is a very sweet cat. She is a little bit naughty but that's funny about her. I hope i see her again before i go to the next host because we didn't say goodbye unfortunately. But maybe that is better because i think i have to cry otherwise. Tonight the finals of idols is on tv. Exciting!!! Big hugs, Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 4, 2008, 5:28 pm	Hello! Here in Holland we got terrible weather. It rains and we even saw hailstones and snow. That's why we got some quiet days. Sunday we helped Eva painting the livingroom. We painted it red and i can say that i fount it a lovely color. Yesterday i went to the pet store. We bought some stuff for Eva's aquarium. After that i helped here put it in the aquarium. Today we decided to watch greys anatomy all day long. We sit on the bed and drink tea while watching al this tragic stories: Look, this is a picture of the weather here: I hope it gets better this week so we can do things again. Big hugs, Nelly and Eva

Eryah Posted Mar 6, 2008, 5:29 pm	Hello! A new TV arrived today. He was a little bit nervous to get out of the envelope. We can only see a orange beak. We try to calm him down and i think it worked because suddenly he fly out of the envelope. This is Palmeke We sit down for a while and talked about the goals we have. We all got a little bit tired so Chompers decided to read a story to us about Peter the rabbit. We all enjoyed it! We are gonna sleep now. We played all day long with Dharma before Palmeke arrived Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 7, 2008, 6:45 pm	Hello! Today we went to the dunes of Petten. You have an area there were you can walk and enjoy the nature out there. There is also a nuclear facility in Petten. It is meant for research and doesn't give electricity. But we only see the facility from a distance. We take Dharma with us and today was the first day we try to let him walk on a leading string. It was great because he immediately start walking with us and you can see he enjoyed it to walk for himself instead of being carried around. In the end we watched the vieuw from the dunes. You can see a lot from up there. They have a lot of fields full with flower bulbs. Eva told us that in the spring you can see a lot of flowers and it's an explosion off colours. Unfortunately it start raining again so we went home but it was a great day! Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 8, 2008, 1:44 pm	Hello! Today we said goodbye to Theo. He's on his way now to the next host. I hope i meet him again. He became a good friend of mine. Goodbye little Theo and good luck on your trail! We went to the Ruinechurch in Bergen. This picturesque ruin church in Bergen once was the biggest church in Noord-Holland. From the 16th century church there is only a ruin left now, because the Beggars started a fire here. Only the choir of the church was rebuilt, so from the original church you can now only see the ruins. In the village Bergen in Noord-Holland there are many beautiful old houses situated around the old village church. Big hugs Nelly

Today it is such a rainy and windy day that we decided to stay home.  We realized that Palmeke hasn't met the pets before so we introduced them to each other. That gave me the opportunity to make pictures of myself with the pets so you can see more of my host family. Here i am with Mammoet the rabbit. He is a sweet funny guy who doesn't even know how to bite so i don't have to be scared he will do that to me. This is Merlijn the guinea pig. He now lives here for almost 3 weeks so he is a newbe around here. He make such funny sounds. You hear him the whole day chirp and whistle. This is Isis the cat. She is very fluffy as you can see so you want to hug her the whole time. She sleeps a lot and she is 11 years old now. For her kind of cat that is very old. I allready told you about Dharma, but of course he couldn't be missing on the pictures of my introducing the host family round. This black cat is called Luna. She is always scared of foreign people and TV's. That's why i couldn't make a good picture with her. She only trust Eva. After all the introducing we decided to play funny and silly games. Chompers found a house on the cage of the rabbit and guinea pig. We were wondering if we fit in the house. And yes it worked! It was very warm and cosy in there. I know it looks silly so we laughed our pants off. Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 11, 2008, 2:58 pm	Hello! Today we went to the town centre of Alkmaar. You can see there some beautifull channels, the old city part of Alkmaar, Waagtoren, a house were a bullet still in from World war 2 and many many more. We didn't have enough time to see it all. But maybe later on this week we go back to see more of this. This street is called the Kooltuin. You have a channel here and next to this street you have the red light district... Here i am on a bridge that leads me from the Kooltuin to the old city part. At the end of the channel you can see the Waagtoren. This is the view when you look on the other side of the brigde. This is the old city part. You have many picturesque stores here. They are different from shops we all know like Hennis& Maurtitz etc etc. As example: you got a toy store in this street but al the toys are made of wood. In the past children played with wooden toys in the Netherlands. You can also find many souvenir shops here. Here i am in front of the Waagtoren. In the summer and spring you have a cheesemarket here and you can also find a museum of cheese here. In the past it was a place were travellers who didn't have enough money can sleep for 3 days and nights. Also sick people get nursery here. After that it became the Waaggebouw. This happened in 1583. Here i am in front of the Molen van Piet. Actually it called Molen de Groot but the family Piet lives here for a lot of years so it became the Molen van Piet. This is the last mill you can find in the town centre. Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 12, 2008, 9:45 am	Hello! Today there is a terrible storm in Holland. The expect gusts of wind till 120 kilometre in a hour. Also rain, thunderstorm and hailstones are about to come this way. They adviced people don't ride on their bike and warning us for the gusts of wind because they can be dangerous. Also for cars it can be dangerous because of the wind. Luckely this morning there weren't problems on the road althought it was busier than normal. Sounds scary isn't it? Alkmaar is lying in the red area here by the coast. Orange means a weather alarm. Red is the highest color of warning so you can see it's violent weather around here. I'm gonna watch it today throught the window because i'm very curious and Eva promised that she comfort me when i'm scared. She said that we stay home all day long and that inside the house nothing can happened to us. Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 14, 2008, 10:43 am	Hello! Today we are preparing ourself at the big TV sleep over and meeting. Lejow is coming tonight and she sleeps here. Tomorrow Magicwoman join us. They both are hosting TV's as well so i'm very excited to meet them al! First we vacuum clean the whole house. Those pets can really make a mess  After that we had a lot off dishes  to do. Luckely we are ready now with the house. Everything looks very clean and we hope the pets and Mirdin don't make a mess again because al our work is for nothing when they do that. We write a list for the shopping we need for our big party tomorrow. I'm am so excited! I can't wait to meet everyone. But i have to wait a few hours so Eva decided to take us with her today so we can calm down. I have no idea what we are going to do. She told me but i didn't listen because i ca'n't concentrate at the moment.. Pictures of the sleep over and meeting are coming soon! Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 14, 2008, 1:49 pm	Hello! Eva took us to the Mac Donalds for a goodbye party for me and Chompers. I am going tuesday to the next host. Chompers is going tomorrow. It was great and i get my very own happy meal. We talked a lot about all the great things we did here. After that we went to the petshop because Eva had a little suprise for us. She let us sit together and listen close. She told us that Chompers, Palmeke and i each have to choose our own fish that Eva can put in her aquarium. We all choose the same one: a dalmatian molly.. When we got home Eva have to let them get used to the aquarium and told us what the next suprise was. She named the fish after us!! So now Nelly, Chompers and Palmeke always gonna be with her I'm gonna sleep now so i have enough energy for tonight and tomorrow. Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 14, 2008, 9:54 pm	Hello! Tonight we had the big party for the sleep over. Lejow arrived at 5 o clock and first we eat fried and kroketten. The TV she is hosting called Emil. He's a great guy! Here we are all together: The party means eating a lot off delicious food. We had chips and candy and chocolat! We played a lot of funny games this evening as sitting in the plant I found some lovely dwarfs. We played to hear see and to be silent. Now we are gonna sleep Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 15, 2008, 6:05 pm	Hello! Today we had the big TV meeting. It was so great to meet everyone and see so much TV's together. Lejow was already here with Emil and today Magicwoman arrived with Meleleuca, Fluffy and Pebbels! It was so great to see Pebbels again! Here we are with the whole group. Everybody take a drink so Pebbels and i had the time to catch up together. So funny that we are both in Holland and meet each other again today. Magicwoman wanted to pierce her nose today so we went to the city. We drived to it in a BMW and they let me drive a little bit, that was so cool! After a while it was time to bring Magicwoman back to the train. Eva took us with her in her bag Magicwoman and Meleleuca said goodbye because Meleleuca is staying with Eva. We waved Magicwoman, Emil, Fluffy and Pebbels goodbye. It was hard to say goodbye to Pebbels again but i know he's okay so that's nice. Lejow left us later because she travelled with her own car. She took Chompers with her so for the second time we had to say goodbye again. When everybody left Meleleuca, Palmeke and i had the time to talk about our day. It was nice to meet each other better. This is Meleleuca The first thing we really wanna do with him is fitting in the house. More pictures our on the way because Lejow made them. Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 16, 2008, 8:11 pm	Hello! Today we had a quiet day to rest a little bit from yesterday. Meleleuca met the pets and me and Palmeke stay in bed al day long. I think i'm addicted to candy and chocolat... We sing to Eva: we want candy, we want candy. Eva told us that we can't eat it all day and we have to eat something with less sugar in it. So okay, i can imagine that but she made something that looked strange for us. It's a cracker with cheese, onions, mayonnaise and herbs. But it taste delicious! Now we are whaiting for Lost comes on the television. Eva is addicted to that Big hugs Nelly
Eryah Posted Mar 17, 2008, 3:25 pm	Hello! Time flies! Tomorrow i'm going to the next host. It feels like yesterday i arrived here in Alkmaar. I had so much fun here and made such good friends, but i'm also looking forward to meet the next host. Today we eat cookies Eva bought for me. It were biscuits with chocolat mills on it. In a few minutes we are gonna cook a goodbye meal for me. Eva eats vegetarian food most of the time and learn me to eat it too. So that's why we are gonna eat a vegetarian burger because i think i'm gonna miss them. Tonight Eva and i gonna prepare my envelope and hopefully we can post the last pictures here of my tv meeting and today. Otherwise Eva is gonna post them for me tomorrow or an other day.  I also write a last post in my notebook to keep the memory of here alive for a long time. I guess it's gonna be hard to say goodbye tomorrow so that's why we do it tonight. I hope i don't have to cry to much. It's sad but also excited that i'm gonna leave here! Eryah Posted Mar 17, 2008, 4:49 pm	Hello! Here is my last update from the Netherlands. Here we are eating the cookies i told you about. As you can see Meleleuca sneaky take a bit of it... Everybody helped me cooking my last meal Tadaa!!!!!!!!!! After diner i allready hugged everybody. After the hugging we tried if i fit in the envelope. I was so scared i wouldn't fit anymore that i want to practice it. It fits!!! And here i am writing my last update from the Netherlands: Big hugs and see you soon!
