Well I squeezed into my box and went off to Fam-United in Germany today. I hope I get there soon since it is a tight squeeze.

After a long travel I'm really happy to get out of my box. Three bears and a faerie welcomed me.

I'm so tired now and feel a little unwell, so that my hosts' daughter asked me, whether I want to sleep in her room. She created a rabbit hutch for me in her room for the night. I have a cosy nest to sleep in. Bye for now, Hoppity

The next day I felt relaxed and much better than the evening before. So my host decided to walk to the baroque church St.Peter, which is next to the cemetery of Bruchsal.
You have a nice view from there.

After we left the cemetery, we walked to the backside of the house Sancta Maria, which was led by Sisters of the order of Franciscans. It is a catholic school for child care workers.

Today Petra wanted to walk somewhere and Ralf drove to the Letzenberg, where is a nice chapel.
The Letzenberg is a place of pilgrimage since 1296 A.D. It is told, that already then there stood a chapel. 1722 A.D. prince-bishop Damian Hugo Philipp, Graf (Count) of Schönborn collected for a chapel, but without success.
In the year 1903 A.D. the chapel was built and consecrated.

When we were there, we had some wonderful views over Malsch and the vineyards, too.
On our way home we watched a wonderful sunset.

At home again we saw the Christmas tree and crib in the livingroom. Our hosts told us, that sometimes they have the Christmas tree up until 2nd February.
The Feast of the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple (also known as Candlemas or Feast of the Purification of the Virgin) celebrates an early episode in the life of Jesus. In the Roman Catholic Church, the Presentation is a feast celebrated on 2 February and is the fourth Joyful Mystery of the Rosary.

In the evening we said goodbye to Little Teddy and Nicki Bear, because both started their travel to the USA. They will stay with different hosts, so I'm sure, that they will be really lonesome in their boxes. I know it from my own travel to Germany.

A new guest arrived today. It is Ollie Marmot, who also is from the USA. We all helped to pull him out of his letter.
Then we had our first date for a group photo.

Bruchsal is a small city with about 27 000 inhabitants, with suburbs about 42 000. It was first named in 976 A.D.

The first place we visited was the Belvedere, which was a former hunting lodge. Now it is a place for summer outside theatre and summer feasts.

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2326/2209429637_e3c2990bbd.jpg?v=0

Next to the Belvedere is a lovely small park with beautiful trees. The grammar school, that is close by too, uses this park as playground.

This fountain is in the middle of the park.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2212/2209429645_acc33e2a0c.jpg?v=0

When you walk out of the park, you have a wonderful view over Bruchsal. Of course we haven't had that wonderful weather.
From left to right you see the towers of the former castle called Bergfried, the tower of the city church "Unsere Liebe Frau" and of the Lutherkirche. The flat roof belongs to the new part of the older peoples' house.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2157/2207121204_f0bfe3a729.jpg?v=0

On this photo you see the baroque church St.Peter and the house Sancta Maria, which are both close to the house, where I'm staying right now.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2327/2207121212_09b42eb240.jpg?v=0

The house next to us with the flat roof and the white big house in the far is the older people's house. The grey house in the far on the left side is a private grammar school called St.Paulusheim.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2046/2207121216_f93203e09b.jpg?v=0

Then we went to the palace of Bruchsal. It was completely destroyed during the second world war but rebuilt in the 70th.
Here you see a view to the gate Damianstor.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2420/2207121220_116722d139.jpg?v=0

When you just turn around on the place you can see the mainbuilding of the palace on the right side. The left part is the church St. Damian and Hugo, where my hosts are going to service on Sundays. Behind the church you see the tower of the church.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2125/2207123738_f21a5e141a.jpg?v=0

This is the county court of Bruchsal.

Again turning around on the place you see the entrance to the mainbuilding.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2337/2207123746_11020be0ec.jpg?v=0

We went into the church and I saw the nice crib.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2173/2207123748_834b551317.jpg?v=0

In the church you can see some photos of the palace and church before and right after the war. The church was beautiful inside, but now it is only painted in white. Of course the costs would have been much too expensive to make everything as it had been before the war.

Here you see a photo of the palace area.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2352/2206336131_7c9b993278.jpg?v=0

When we came out of the church, we looked back to the county court on the right and the Damianstor on the left side. Next to the Damianstor you maybe see a red thick tower, this it the tower of the jailhouse.

The  building in my back is the backside of the church. And you see the tower of the church, too.

It's carnival time, they call it the fifth season. Today was the carnival procession through the streets of Bruchsal. My host family met friends and then they stood in front of their house to watch the procession. We toyvoyagers didn't dress up today, but we will try to do it this coming week.
Here are a view impressions of the procession. Petra said, that it was just too much time between the groups, that came along the way. If I'm still here next Sunday, I will go to the carnival procession in Karlsdorf and I hope, that we have more fun there.

After Petra came home from school, she asked us, whether we would like to go and see the nice view from top of the small hill called Michaelsberg, which belongs to Untergrombach, a suburb of Bruchsal.

The weather was foggy, so of course I couldn't see the Palatine mountains and very far into the Rhine valley. But at least I saw a part of Bruchsal in the far.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2181/2231474478_27bc61d371.jpg?v=0

The quarry pond belongs to Untergrombach. Petra liked to swim there, when she was younger.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2104/2230676949_9c036bbf41.jpg?v=0

The houses you see on the right side belong to Untergrombach. It was getting dark rather fast.
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2217/2231474492_213a715dfb.jpg?v=0

This is the nice chapel called "Michaelskapelle".
http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2318/2231479988_a7babb78c9.jpg?v=1201775483

It was rather cold there and windy. So we hurried to go back to the car. We took the last photo, while sitting in the car. It is a view to another suburb of Bruchsal, Obergrombach. And you see the Kraichgau hill country. I saw it much better than you do on this photo. It was just too dark already.

Yesterday something scaring happened to me. I didn't think anything bad, just sat together with my toyvoyager friends and talked about our stay here and where we will go next and so.
Suddenly a hand grapped Sylphide and me. I looked at the face and I saw a really young captain Jack Sparrow. Shock!!!!

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2253/2231484370_345b53214b.jpg?v=1201783560

I needed a while until I was able to open my eyes and to look in that face again. Phew, was I happy to see, that it only was my hosts son, who was dressed up as Jack Sparrow for his school carnival.

The kids took us with them to the carnival procession in Karlsdorf, which is a small town near to Bruchsal. We asked them to take some photos with us, but it didn't work so well. Ok, maybe it was also our fault, because we always tried to jump into the photos.
Nevertheless we can see them here and some other photos with witches, which are very important for carnival in Germany and a music group, which plays Guggenmusik - a music, that you only can listen to but not explain and some more.

Today we had to say GOODBYE to Tenderheart Bear and Sylphide. They will travel to Pandamao in Munich now. We all are a little sad of course, but I think, that some others will go on with their travel soon, too.

Oh yes, I nearly forgot to tell you, that Sylphide was so nervous, that she crawled into the wrong envie!!! Petra had to hold her and put her into the right box. Although we all had been sad, we had to laugh out loud.

Today evening we will go to a family carnival celebration. First we helped to prepare a carrot salad. It was a bit difficult to cut the carrots, because I felt, that I had been very, very hungry.
My friends came and tried to get me away from the carrots, but without success. They needed the help of that little snowman. I jumped down, because I was so excited to get closer to this toy. I will try to tell him about the life as a toyvoyager. Maybe he will be one too?

In the evening we danced a little and once I jumped into the photo, so you can see, that I had been with them. It was too dark to find me on the other photos. And yes, you see me with some "Berliner", that they like to eat on carnival.

Today we were in the Maerklin railway museum in Göppingen. My hosts are big fans of toy-trains and since a long time they wanted to go to this museum together. They asked us, whether we would like to join them and we all wanted to go there, of course.
So we got ready with breakfast and jumped into the big rucksack, that Petra always carries around. Happily we were allowed to crawl out of it soon. Our hosts daughter played with us during the drive.
While we were in the museum, we saw many toy trails and other things, that were created by Maerklin.
On our drive home Petra took some more photos with us. You see a photo of the big road works and some other impressions of our drive. The bridge, that you see over the autobahn, is a parkhouse, which is next to the airport of Stuttgart in Leinfelden.

Hi Everybody!

Yesterday I arrived safely in Bedburg - at first I was a bit shy when I climbed out of my package. But after some minutes I felt much better - I met some dragons at first and later I also met the two dogs of the house, named Gina and Susi - I even got a kiss from Gina, because she likes me - my host told me that she is fond of rabbits (I am not sure if this is good or not  ).

PS: My host told me to say "Thank you" to The Sparkle for the great chocolate rabbit :) - she loved all the presents!

Tomorrow we will go on holidays - my host, her hubby, the two dogs and I will travel to an island in the North of Germany named Fehmarn. I am really excited...

Today I will show you some pictures taken on the 23th of March - we went to the beach and visited a light house, we saw a big ferry traveling to Denmark, we went to an old city named Lütjenburg, where I saw the old town hall, a monument and some nice ice-cream. At noon we visited a museum with old many old things - like toys from the last century, an old typewriter (I tried to type a letter but I failed...) and many other old things. I also saw the "rest" of a big animal - I was afraid at first, but later I liked the situation. In the afternoon it started snowing - only a little bit, but it was white outside. Hi!

After a long day in my envelope (because my new host has been busy all day) I arrived in Freiburg.
And were very warm welcomed from my new host. Et al. she made a photo when I just looked out of my envelope "Yikes!"

She showed me around in her room, and introduce me to Luca (an huge, but very friendly orca ) and "Giraffe" who are also living at Sarah's.

Later on, we watched TV together, and I'm allowed to sleep in her bed, that I'm not lonley.

Today (ok, in ca. 20 min) we are going to a exposition for dogs, because my host loves dogs.
I'm a little bit frighted, because my host tell me that there could be a lot dogs. But I will be save in her bag *phew!*
The weather is really nice and sunny, so we're going there by bike.
So, now we had to get ready, here you maybe later on again.

Hi everybody!!

sorry for running that late, but everybody is very busy here.

The dog exposition was fantastic!!!Whereas I was really glad to be in my host's bag!Wow!I've never seen such lots og dog! :o

We first showed around  the stands, and than meet some other ladies with an really cute but eyeless young dog.
We walked around together, got lots of informations, and I looked after the brochures, which Sarah gave me.

And at last I had to highlights:
1: a Photo with my host and I and a huge (human) dog mascot.
2. a show group with very intelligent dogs, which made some tricks to music called dogdancing.

On a monday, I went with my host at her work, badly after one fist picture from there, the one-time camera was full.
So I had a sleep in her bag, and we moved the showing around on another day.
After that, with really nice weather (what a luck) we went straight to the mainstation were we picked a smaller train. My host told me, that we're driving towards to the Black Forrest, to the smaller town "Kirchzarten".

There we met a friend of Sarah, who was happy to welcome me.
Normaly my host and her friend had a very important appointment, which was (what a luck for me) cancelted because off illnes. So I meet the huge company of toy's who are living there also.
Especially I liked a lot a donkey called "I-A" who is a closed friend to filmstar "Winny the Pooh" A sister of my host's whale called Orca and her big friend Dora, a dolphin.
We had a nice time together, while my host and her friend are recording some saved films.

Later one my host as been showed off learning the guitarre, oh my poor sensitive ears!! ;-) What a crazy wrong sound.
But I'm sure, she will learn it soon.

Some days ago (unbelievable we still have really nice and warm weather!) ;) hoppity (another toyvoyagers) and I we joined Sarah at her walking trip with "Polly" a big black, but very friendly Labrador, which she takes for a walk.
It was nice to see Polly running after a ball or wooden sticks, as we can relax with her in the sun. :D

Hi!

Yesterday I had a really great day!

At noontiime with great weather shaggy and I drove with our host by train (through really nice landscape) to the village Kirchzarten in the Black Forrest.
At home we met Sarah's friend (I've allready been there) and my toy friend "Ih- Ah" again. I picture them to Shaggy, and talked to each other while the humans were talking too.

Than we took a place in a small bag and walked through Kirchzarten, which is a really pretty village.
Our first stop ended on a miniature golf area, and it was great fun to see our host playing and to cheer for her.

After that we walked again through the nice nature and lots fields
and than (poor host) high up a     rather rampant hill. I was very lucky, about that first class place in her bag. :D

On the top we had a fantastic view over the landscape /hills and down fare Kirchzarten.
We visited the small church there, and had a break at the restaurant next to it (Badly silly host forgot to photograph that).
We sat under a  big tree with     panorama of the area.

While walking down (this time on directly way on the street way)
we stopped at cemetery, to look after ours host's friend's dad grave.

Back home, Shaggy and I chilled with Orca and Dolphin Dora, while our host and the others jumped around to get ready for s.th

The surprise was, first we went to a nice restaurant, which is in the style of black forest tradition and area. The meals they had smells very nice.

The second thing and mean point for the extra dressing up,
was, that we went to dancenight at our host friends dancing school.
And again, it was really funny to see them (and other people) dancing or sometimes bouncing around like that ;)

Very very late we were luckily droven home, from our host friends, and all three went to bed.

And had today on sunday a really, really long sleep =)

Hear you soon again, hoppity

Hi!

I saw it's urgently time for another entry here, as time runs so fast.

We had the last time lots different walks showing around our host's area. Which is indeed very nice.

We used the really really hot days to walk with Sarah and Polly to their city stream called "Dreisam". We rellaxed in the sun, and spectate at her hounting Polly throuh the water. This was great fun to see, we just need to be look for that we didn't get wet. ;)

Yesterday I went with Shaggy and our host for saturday shooping to the buying center "ZO" of her area called "Wiehre".
We helped Sarah to get the empty bottles away and had than a first class place in the bucket, to watch what (delicous of course) she's buying =)

When we came out of the center, there were a stand for beer out of an old brewery or firecar from 1938.
we took the chance and made an photo. =)

Today, we're going with our host to a hiking tour to Kirchzarten in  Black Forrest. This is on one side a training mmarch for Sarah to get fit for her pilgrimage. And on the other side, our host told me,
we will have a farewell journey and coffee break with Shaggy (it will be a surprise for him).
Shaggy is badly going to travel on to Sweden on Monday.

So let's start! Here you again soon,

Hi again!

Our trip to Kirchzarten was very nixe, but a little bit an adventure.

Shaggy and I had the best places, as we sat on the top of her
bag and had a really nice view about the diffent things on the way and what happenend.
It was really really hot, but luckily we had enough water bottles with us.
Everything was fine, until we had another drinking stop.
She hit an entrance or housing of ants. And a (absolutly true) horde of ants are everywhere and our host were screaming, because (so she said, they bit). Hoppity and I hide in the bag and Sarah closed asap the bag, so that we are save.
It really takes, with water and shaking the bag till most biting ants were gone, and we could move on, uff!!
After a long time in the sun (luckily I didn't get like our host a sunburn) we arrived in Kirchzarten, in Black Forrest! B)

There we went straigh, to an ice cream parlou an shared a big glas of strawberry milkshake together, so yummy!!!
We sat a while together and went than to a fountain, were Sarah is cooling down here feet. And we had a luck at a smaller foutnaine one. As I was more brave, sitting closer to the water as Shaggy.

Than walked a head and met, the friend of our host I've been one time again, this was really nice to see her again!
For farewell we made a lot of different places, and especially the break at area of vale bailiwick  with small streams and the pond was great!

Am I sweet??? ;-)

Than it was time to say goodbye from our host's friend and Kirchzarten and walked a nice way at the hometown stream "Dreisam" towards Freiburg.

On our way back:
http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3258/2531704078_894795d214.jpg?v=0
The last part of the way, we made with a funny small bus and the Tram.
And had a nice evening together in front of the TV.
Tomorrow, when Sarah is going to work I'm ready in my envelope and going from the next letter box on a new journey.

Hello :)!

Today we visited BlackCat's Mum. She is alone at the moment because her husband is in China and her son is at his girlfriends house. So BlackCat decided that we visit her and make her some funny moments. Her mother loves rabbits, so I was really welcomed there and she had a lot of nice ideas for photos :)!

Hope you like them,

Hi :)!

It is raining, and raining, and raining...we got so bored, so we decided to help BlackCat making pancakes :)!
The recipe is really easy:

3 eggs
250g flour
300ml milk
a little bit salt

We mixed it all good and then we make them in the pan :)!
That was a lot of fun :)!
Have a nice day,
Hoppity

Good morning everybody ^^,

today we tried to see the sunrise on a bridge near the house. We made some photos, but it was too cloudy to see the sunrise. It was even raining, when we went home. So that was really bad :(!
But the man in TV told us, that the weather will become better tomorrow. We will see...

Hello again,

after the photos on the bridge we went to the secondary school, where BlackCat's brother went for 6 years. It is called "Franz Dinnendahl Realschule" in German.
BlackCat can hear the noise of the schoolyard when they have a break. But at the moment here are school holidays, so we have our calm now.

Have a nice day,

Hello everybody,

today we helped BlackCat finding a winner for her lottery in the forum! It was really funny. First we made photos with the things, that the winner will get.

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii123/oceania87/TV/2807/001_0.jpg
2 advertising postcards for ToyVoyagers, 1 postcard from Essen and a magnet with one "Mainzelmännchen" on it. The "Mainzelmännchen" were advertising characters for a German television channel. Really cute ones :)!

http://i263.photobucket.com/albums/ii123/oceania87/TV/2807/001_10.jpg
Hueso took one piece of paper. The winners name is written on it.

We opened the piece of paper and a name was written on it:
OLGAMAUS
So, the winner is olgamaus!

Since it's our host's birthday next week, she participates in a Round Robin on Postcrossing for people whose birthday is in September. And these are the cards she sent to the other people. Aren't they nice and colourful? The card with the peacock was for her mother, not birthday related, and the package on the left contains Jadzia Tam :)

Today we helped our host with putting the pictures in the photo-album of the vacation in London. Neither of us has been on this vacation, but it wasn't like we had anything better to do, and we liked looking at the pictures of our fellow ToyVoyagers.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4014.jpg
Help! We're all entangled!
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4016.jpg
This smells weird...what kind of food is this?
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4019.jpg
But, in the end, we managed to finish the album. Just two months after the vacation, that's not too bad, is it?
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4022.jpg

Of course we had to eat something after this hard work. Our host said we could share this sandwich together. She told us it is something really Dutch. The sausage you see is called a 'rookworst'. There is no real English term for it, but the dictionary gives 'smoked sausage'. It's made of pork meat usually and here it is served with a mustard-sauce. It tasted really great!
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4024.jpg

Since it was Resi's life-mission to get to know all sorts of tea, my host said she could help her with that. She told her she really likes to drink tea and has many different flavours. I thought she meant she would have like three or four different flavours, but look at this!
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4027.jpg
And that's not all! I know she's a Postcrosser and apparently she also swapped some tea with some Round Robins and Tags on the forum. Some tea she says! Look at this! Resi's life mission regarding tea is now completed!
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4030.jpg

So we decided to have a little tea party. We also invited the bear from London, because he of course likes tea, and Yolanda.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4032.jpg
Don't you just love this Winnie the Pooh shaped biscuit tin?
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4035.jpg
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4036.jpg
This bear was really happy to finally have some real British tea again. He said it had been too long ago since he last had some
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4038.jpg
This is Resi and Chipper together with some 'Hot Love' tea. It's nice for them to spend some time together.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4039.jpg
Of course, rabbits don't usually drink tea, so I chose some green 'Green Leaf' tea. That's at least somewhat close to cabbage.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4040.jpg
And Yolanda drank some Peppermint tea.

Today a new TV arrived and it's a very special one! It's a braincell called Synapse!
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4043.jpg
Our host didn't really know what to feed him, so we decided to give him a book to read! Our host says it's very important for braincells to be stimulated. This book about Dutch procedural civil law must certainly do the trick!

Our host had her first class of the semester today, so she took us along with her to Leiden. This is me in front of a typical Dutch windmill.

Our host still loves this view. It's so Dutch.

Today two new ToyVoyagers arrived! They are called Roots Bear and HitchaRideDooey. We wanted to welcome them with a group picture.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4057.jpg
But we were missing one TV! Synapse, where are you?
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4059.jpg
Ah, he's reading again. Come here, we need you to welcome these two new TVs.
http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f233/Charda1982/IMG_4060.jpg
So we finally got a group picture together. Our host apologizes for not doing many updates lately. She is working a lot, even six days this week  :o , so things will get better...eventually.

Tonight we watched an online video of Prinsjesdag. It's a Dutch tradition where the queen tells the government and everyone in the country what the policy will be in the next year. First she travels in this golden carriage.

And this is the Queen of the Netherlands: Queen Beatrix.

Sam (my host) has been very busy lately... she got a part time job on the side so she can buy Christmas presents for people... We helped her put up her Christmas tree today, she said it's a lot earlier than most people put up their tree, but that's okay because her and her husband love Christmas!

So that is what we did tonight.

Today, Sam stopped on the way to work to get something special for one of the people she works with. It was his 1 year anniversary of being with the company.

She bought him Tiramisu.

On Saturday, we woke up and visited a flea market in the morning. In the afternoon we went to Popcorn Park which is a zoo that has mostly injured an unwanted animals. You can feed the majority of the animals popcorn! It was a lot of fun. Here we are in front of the camel enclosure.

There were a lot of pretty peacocks just walking around. You could just walk right up to them. Here's a photo of one.

The ground where we were was very sandy. This was due to the fact that we were very close to the Pine Barrens. All the pine needles make the dirt very sandy.

It was a really fun trip! We did some other things too, but it was very crowded and hard to take photos.

After a long stay in Pennsylvania, I have made my way to Flagstaff, Arizona, USA. I am currently staying with Zeke's mentor Ashley.

http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a398/SpunkyAsh/toyvoyagers/winter/100_3700.jpg

One of the most distinguishable sights in Flagstaff is the San Fransisco Peaks. They look small in comparison to me but they stand at 12,633 ft (3,851 m). In the winter, Ashley says that these peaks get covered in snow! I hope to be able to see that before heading back to home!
