I've arrived safely to Moscow!!

Here's so much snow! I like it!

I'll tell you more and post my first photos a bit later, ok?)

Posted Feb 1, 2008, 8:32 pm

I've discovered that I'm the smallest TV here!!  If not everywhere, I think! :) But the other TVs I met here (much bigger than me) were very nice and I think we'll become good friends!!

Let me introduce you some of my new friends! Look how big they are!!

This is BearyLuv:

and another bear - Eldon:

A nice lady-giraffe Gina:

And Rangler - the cowboy pony!

Then I decided to explore the flat on my-size-level - I looked for things that fitted me - and can you guess what I found?? - A plane!!! Do you know that I'm fond of planes?? I am!!

Kristl said that they have more my-size-planes, cause her friend is fond of them too! How nice - I'm sure I'll find much interesting there!! Kristl promised to find them.

Well-well, don't be afraid!! This bear is only a toy! He's not dangerous even for TVs!! But the photo looks great, yeah? :)

And this monkey seems to like me :) Ha-ha!

And here I'm riding a big yellow fish!! don't even know it's name though..  :p

Posted Feb 1, 2008, 8:38 pm
Today we went to the post office to say Good Bye to Gina Giraffe who was leaving for Novosibirsk! That's a pity that I didn't had time to get to know her better..

But before she left Kristl checked her po box and there were... two TVs that came to visit her!! Elisabeth and Snowy!! How wonderful!!!

Here we are all together :) Can you find me? I'm still the smallest! :)

Hello-hello! :)

Today all the TVs went for a big visit! Kristl took us to another flat (where she had to wait while a new door was being installed). And there we met many new stuffed friends!!

Here you can see me on Flora's back! The was so kindthat she let me ride her a bit :)

Rangler who ahs already been there once and knew some Toys there invited us to meet his friends - 4 Dogs.

When Flora and Decker head that we're going to meet dogs they became a bit angry and didn't want to go.

Rangler told them once more that these dogsare very kind, that they're his friends and that they'd like to make new friends. Then they calmed down and decided to go with us too.

When we came to the 4 dogs Rangler introduces them to us

The light dog with light ears is called Sunny, the brown dog is called Cloudlet, the light dog with black ears is Glasha (it's and old Russian name) and the Dalmatian is Glasha too. That's so funny that two diffenet dogs with the same name live together!!

Then Rangler introduced us to the dogs!

The Dalmatian Glasha liked Flora very much. I'm sure they'll become good friends!

I and Decker discovered that we can hide ourselves with the dogs :)) That was mich fun! Can you see us?

Todaywe went to the post office. Kristl is used to visit the post once or twice a week, but this time we were very worried :( Minerva had to come already, but she han't arrived yet.

Can you imagine how happy we all were when Kristl got a box and there was Minerva!!!

As it stood on the box, she was sent somewhere wrong. But now she's safe and soun with us an we're happy!

Posted Mar 3, 2008, 11:07 am
Today it was snowing heavily.. We all stayed at home and watched it from the window. I think Snowy must be happy that there's so much snow here.

Hey-hey, today we've made a great sightseeing tour in the Moscow centre!!

We walked in the small street right in the centre when we saw (just near us!!) a fire in a house (there were many fire engines and many people) - we went from this place as soon as possible. It was there - you can still see the smoke..

The photo is taken prom a small square near the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour

The Kremlin can be seen from this place:

And in that direction is the Moscow-River:

Posted Mar 27, 2008, 2:23 pm
Then we went to The Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts. All the pupels are use to visit this museum, there are alot of interesting things there, but almost all of them are copies of famous artworks, good for studying, I think

It's strange, but from here the Cathedral is seen very good!

Posted Mar 27, 2008, 2:28 pm
We wanted to visit Kremlin, but it was closed cause it was Thurthday :(

I studied the plan of Kremlin in details to be able to find there everything I want if I get there one day.

Then we went to the Red Square

Behind me you can see the Nikolskaya Tower and the State Historical Museum.

The walls of Kremlin:

The Spasskaya Tower and the Saint Basil's Cathedral:

After walking in the city centre we went to the post office, today Snowy, Curly and Rangler are leaving Moscow. I think I'll miss them as I miss all my friends, but I wish them many wonderful journeys!!

All the TVs here came to say Good Bye to them:

hello hello!
Here I am I arrived safely at dandilion her house!

I helped her with her hobby: writing letters and postcrossing
look at me with the big pens :-) It was fun, we wrote a letter to a far away country.

After writing letters I explored the garden and found a nice spot to look over all the flowers and vegetables.

Suddenly I had gained so much energy I went up a floweryplant and....

.... Look at me I am FLYING!!!

Posted Jul 4, 2008, 8:13 am
Today I will travel with dandilion to England, we are heading to Liverpool by airplane. Our final destination is Bolton.

I sure be having a great weekend!!!

Posted Jul 7, 2008, 9:28 pm

I completed one of my missions!! I went on an airplaine!!!!

here I am at Schiphol (Amsterdam) Airport, we are waiting for our plane to arrive. This big blue airplaine is from the Dutch Royal airline KLM, we did not went on with KLM, there flights do cost alot!

Thast the plane I went on!
It was very crowed, we had to wait for the other people to come out so we could go in.
Very cool hey??? Me with my pilot scarf :-)

I had to read all the instructions what we must do in case of an emercency

here you can see the absolute proof!!! :-) i was so so happy!!! it was very pretty cool to be up in the sky so high!
The flight went very fast, we where at our destination before we knew it!

We arrived at Jong Lennon Airport, at Liverpool
And the yellow Submarine of the Beatles

We went to Blackpool pleasure Beach

Blackpool is on the north east coast of England

We went on the train from Bolton to Blackpool and it took us about 1 hour, we sat down adn just start talking with each other. We talked about the weather offcourse!!!!

Posted Jul 7, 2008, 9:57 pm
We arrived in Blackpool, this is the famous Blackpool tower. They have many shows there, like stand up comedy, musical, and dance performances. We saw adds all over the sea side town promoting shows which are currently held there.

The bunch of us went with dandilion (leonie) and her boyfriend to the Blackpool pleasure Beach. We went on many trill rides.

We were taking a rest after we went on a fast an very wet ride called the Valhalla.
We queded up and when we were at the front, it didnt work! So we waited for such along time! A few hours later we qued up again with succes! It was very fun ride, on water and in the dark, very scary!

It was a very fun day! I was so tired from all the excitement that when I came home I went straight to bed. Good that dandilion took my sleeping bag with her.

Posted Jul 10, 2008, 9:37 pm
whats cooking?

With Adelina Sheep + Veggies and me: We cooked a meal!

Leonie and I gave instructions to the other how to cook it, I was supervising them :)

We had chicken breast with spiral pasta with Boursin (garlic spread) and mushroom sauce.  A very nice dish to make and off course to try and see if its any good!

Adelina Sheep, she was the captain of the onions, she cutted them all in small pieces.
She did a good job and when I said that to her I saw she had tears in her eyes, so sad sheep.. but she told me it was the onions made her cry not my kind words to her.

I was making sure the onions wont get too brown and the chicken was ready in a few minutes too

mmm!!! that smells great!
We all helped set the table... but nothings on our plate YET!

The bigger TV's did most of the work so I let them eat first.

HMMMMM Smells nice and It looks tasty! Lets try a bite... MMMMMORE MORE!!!

My lill stomach was full after a few bites.
I fell asleep right after we finished. So I missed out all the fun on helping cleaning (as if I would have been upset missing cleaning YUK)!

Posted Jul 14, 2008, 10:02 pm
The bag is packed with bread rolls, some drinks, sweets(candy) camera and off course not to forget ME!

But! Where is Leonie taken me and the other TV to today?

She is giving out some hints about fairytales and rides....

Lets just wait and see where she is taking me this lovely sunny bright day!

We went on the train, a different one this time, Leonie told me there are various trains in the Netherlands, this was an oldie.

We arrived at:
Famous Dutch themepark! Wow what a surprise!!!! Oww goodies!!!!

Dandilion took me here its a very nice green park with rides and fairytales.

We saw everything! And went in almost all the rides!! Even I went on some rollercoastesr (had to carry the bags with us in it)
This is me looking at a mosque.. YOU think!! No this is Fata Morgana... Too bad it was closed, Leonie told me its a good ride You see the arabic/middle east world fromout a boattrip. Too bad I had to miss out the fun there!

Thoughout the park You can find these big man with their mouths wide open.. they scream to the people

Papier Hier Papier Hier.. that means (paper here paper here) All kinds of litter can go in there.
Can you find me on the picture?

We entered the Fairytale Forrest.....

Here is a sleeping knight, as you might have guessed of the Sleeping Beauty fairytale.

SSSSTTT We must keep quiet otherwise we mighte wake him!

Here you can spot me and the other TV sitting on the big mushroom :-)  There is a Dutch childrens song, dandilion sang to me :)

We stummbled accross this very pretty sign to lead the way to "Roodkapje" Little Red Riding Hood

It lead the right direction.. who did we saw on her Grandmothers doorstep??? Roodkapje in person!

BUt oww NOOOO!!! Who is that in grandmothers bed?? Its the big bad Wolf!!!

And we passed the house of the witch of the Hans & Grietje story Hansel and Gretel

This is the giant of "Klein Duimpje" Hop o' My Thumb

Here he comes up...

I can relate to Klein Duimpje, he is soo small just like me :-)

Here are some other pictures Leonie took:

Pardoes, the Efteling puppet (like Mickey is of Disney)

Langnek (longneck)

The Troll king

More of our day here later on :)

Posted Jul 20, 2008, 1:59 pm
Today was the day Leonie cleaned up the rabbits cages, she asked all the toys to help her.

Yalara and Pebbles were very excited about us little ones helping out.

We were chatting about playing a game whilst Pebbles was running around the livingroom.
We had her cage all to ourselves. The idea came up to play hide and seek in the straw :)

Veggies the bunny was the one to count till 100 so me and the other toys could find a spot to hide.
Veggies discussed with Frizzle (the stay at home toy bunny of leonie) what a good place to look for us :)

Can you spot me? The others didnt hide very well, but I am unfindable!!! As I have the same colour like the straw we hide in. :-)

Veggies looked left and right,, but still didnt find us ;-)
Pebbles also tried helping out with finding us, but all she did was running around the house!

hahaha funny Veggies she looked even on the outside of the cage

OH No so close!!

Gotcha!!!!  We were found!!!

This was a very nice game we played and we all fell over of laughing!

Some work needed to be done on Yalara her cage, Adelina Sheep and Myself helped with putting fresh straw in her cage

Here it comes Adelina, Im trowing the straw down, Look out dear!

Curious Yalara came check us out, if were were doing a good job preparing her bed for her lol

MMM yum yum what a nice place to stay!

Yummy straw to chew on and hay to knibble on. Enjoy your new fresh bed Yalara sweetie

The bags were packed and we were ready to set off for a weekend break. The destination was the province Friesland. And we went to the place called Workum:

Workum (From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Country  Netherlands
Province  Friesland
- Total c. 4,000

Workum (West Frisian: Warkum) is the largest town of Nijefurd in Friesland. It received city rights in 1374. It lies within the municipality of Nijefurd. Currently has around 4000 inhabitants.

Today, Workum is probably best known for having a museum dedicated to the very popular artist Jopie Huisman. Furthermore it is one of the eleven cities of the Elfstedentocht.

Here we are enjoying the Dutch scenery view from out the train.

We set off early friday morning and arrived about 2 o clock in the afternoon. The flag was hanging outside of the room we stayed at

Friesland  (taken from wikipedia)
(West Frisian: Fryslân, Dutch: Friesland) is a province in the north of the Netherlands and part of the bigger region known as Frisia. In order to distinguish it from the other Frisian regions, it is commonly specified as Westerlauwer Frisia, Westerlauwer Friesland, West Frisia or West Friesland. The latter two names may lead people to confuse the region with the neighbouring landscape called 'West-Friesland', in the North Holland province.

Up until the end of 1996, the province bore Friesland as its official name. In 1997 this Dutch name lost its official status to the Frisian endonym Fryslân.

Friesland has 643,000 inhabitants (2005) and its capital is Leeuwarden (Ljouwert), with 91,817 inhabitants, in the center of the province.
Friesland distinguishes itself from the other eleven provinces through having its own language, West Frisian, which is also spoken in a minor part of the province of Groningen, to the east. Closely related languages, East Frisian ("Seeltersk", which is different from "East Frisian (Ostfriesisch)", a collection of Low German dialects of East Frisia) and North Frisian, are spoken in the Saterland and in North Friesland areas in Germany, respectively. Friesland was a part of the German empire until 1680 when it separated and joined the Netherlands. Part of Friesland is still considered part of Germany (Ostfriesland)

The English language is also closely related to West Frisian. There is a saying about it: "As milk is to cheese, are English and Fries." Another version of this saying reads (in West Frisian): "Bûter, brea, en griene tsiis; wa't dat net sizze kin, is gjin oprjochte Fries", which in English reads: "Butter, bread, and green cheese, whoever can't say that is no upright Fries" (According to legend, the 16th century Frisian freedom fighter Pier Gerlofs Donia forced his captives to repeat this shibboleth to distinguish Frisians from Dutch and Low Germans). The saying plays on the sound differences between the Dutch and Frisian words for "butter, bread, and green cheese", which in Frisian are pronounced almost identically to their English counterparts (showing the original closeness between the two languages), while in Dutch ("Boter, brood, en groene kaas"), these words sound quite different.

Friesland is mainly an agricultural province. The famous black and white Friesian cattle and the well known black Friesian horse originated here. Tourism, mainly on the lakes in the south west of the province, and on the islands in the Wadden Sea in the north, is an important source of income, too. Technology companies such as Asset Control have also set up base in Friesland.

The province is famous for its speed skaters, with mass participation in cross-country skating when weather conditions permit. In winters that are cold enough to allow the freshwater canals to freeze hard, the province is the focus of the Elfstedentocht (Eleven cities tour), a 200 kilometers ice skating tour. In the warmer months, many Frisians practice wadlopen, the traditional art of wading across designated sections of the Wadden Sea at low tide. Another Frisian practice is fierljeppen, a sport with some similarities to pole vaulting. A jump consists of an intense sprint to the pole (polsstok), jumping and grabbing it, then climbing to the top while trying to control the pole's forward and lateral movements over a body of water and finishing with a graceful landing on a sand bed opposite to the starting point. Because of all the diverse skills required in fierljeppen, fierljeppers are considered to be very complete athletes with superbly developed strength and coordination.

Another interesting feature are the many windmills. There are 195 windmills in the province of Friesland, from a total of about 1200 in the entire country.

We rented bicycles to explore the area of Workum and the nearby places of interest. Such as Hindeloopen.

In Hindeloopen there was a sailing contest, but due to the lack of wind they just sailed around.
There was a small market with some stands, look at the delicious Friese kaas  Frysian cheese

http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z27/dandilion1981/Friesland072008/c54f63f5.jpg http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z27/dandilion1981/Friesland072008/2422d6e1.jpg
After we walked around we sat down for a short break, in the back you can see the masts of the boats in the harbour of Hindeloopen.
http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z27/dandilion1981/Friesland072008/1bb5554c.jpg  http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z27/dandilion1981/Friesland072008/595ee1df.jpg

We cycled back and this is the map we used for the routes:

On our way back we came across only farm land, either with cattles (cows) or sheep. Also we saw horses, and only one special Frysian big horse, too bad it was too far for a picture and we were not allowed on the farms premisise.

We came back very tired so we went straight to bed:

The next day a new adventure.....

Whew!~  It has been very long since Squiggles has updated the travel log!  Matthew is pleased to help!

Squiggles arrived in a small white envelope which tore open, but the yellow paper and the sleeping bag were still in the envelope.  Squiggles is so tiny, Matthew and Tammy are amazed!

It is fall here in the St. Louis area.  The weather is very beautiful.  Temperatures have been cool and the sun is shining.  Trees are changing colors and apple picking and pumpkin picking are in season.  Squiggles hosts Matthew and Tammy are looking forward to taking Squiggles to Eckherts Farm and Garden for both very soon.

In the mean time, Matthew took Squiggles around his neighborhood where he watched a race, saw a lake, looked for Geocaches, and made postcards.

Welcome to Festus and Crystal City Squiggles!

Squiggels at Austin Pitcairn Park  in Crystal City.

Squiggles visits Darrell Hickey White Park

Squiggles loves autumn in Missouri.  The trees are amazing, even though this historic tree is gone.

Squiggles conquers the Star School Memorial.  The building is long gone, as is the tree, but Star School historic site is preserved by the park.

Charles A Brown Memorial Park preserves the memory and history of Star School and one of Crystal City's most education friendly benefactors.

Squiggles visits Al Brown Lake in Festus.  This is a favorite fishing spot for many and the ducks and geese like to visit too.

Squiggles was impressed to learn that Matthew is a teacher of children ages 10-14.  Matthew teaches writing.  Squiggles promises to be good if Matthew takes him to school.

Perhaps some of the students can help Squiggles learn about school in America.

Matthew is also excited about taking Squiggles to the city on Sunday.  There, Matthew will show Squiggles Laumiere Sculpture Park, the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial, and some other very interesting sites in St. Louis.

Squiggles hosts went to court on October 21.  As we did, we stopped and took photos of the old city hall, and the arch (from the highway).  Squiggles is now on his way to his next host in France.

I had a nice time in France. But then my host got ill and everything got really hard for her. We helped to cheer her up as good as possible and now I'm on the road again. I'm at fam-united's home now and wait for a possibility to travel on. Maybe I will find another place in Germany or Europe.
Soon I will meet many other toyvoyers, but at first I will have a short rest.

Bye, Squiggles

Petra has created the German Rescue, so she keeps an overview over all the toyvoyagers at her place. The German Rescue is for toys, who were stuck at a place and then send on to fam-united.

I'm sure, I will travel home as soon as you write to my host.
