Hello everyone!
My name is Kanako. I am a small, but very clever snake. I live in Moscow with my big sister. We love to read books and origami. I read a lot about the different interesting places in different countries. And now I want to see all of these things with my own eyes! I hope soon I will go to travel and learn a lot of new and interesting things. My big sister would be very happy for me! |

Hi!
First of all my host wants to apologise for being so quiet recently! She's been really busy with work. Yesterday, she went to a gig of a band called The Black Dahlia Murder. I went with her but unfortunately because it was quite warm and everyone was squashed up, she was worried of taking my photo in case I got knocked away! My host writes reviews for an online magazine in her spare time, so she enlisted my help for this review as I'd gone with her Writing it up... Uploading it to the site... Finished product... Looking forward to seeing what I will be doing next |

Wow! What a few days I've had!
On Friday, I travelled all the way to Bilston with my host for her to see one of her favourite bands, Finntroll. We started off at my host's train station, Abergele & Pensarn. On the train down, she wrote a few more reviews. I sat on the sidelines and watched My host also interviewed all the bands on the bill! She was going to take photos of me with all the bands...but in her excitement and haste left me in her bag whilst she went off playing journalist before the gig This is a photo of the gig, taken right when the band was performing Svartberg!!! Yes, that's where my host's username on here comes from! I was super tired afterwards though, and just went straight to sleep in the hotel room |

The day after, my host had a little bit of time to kill before catching the train from Wolverhampton, which was a short tram ride away from where she stayed. So we went looking for anything that could be historical in Bilston before heading to Wolverhampton
Not really much in Bilston! Here is a photo of me waiting for the tram to Wolverhampton. But guess where I went to when I arrived in Wolverhampton? Yes, a library! My first one in the UK, but definitely not my last! Afterwards we went and looked at a few more sights round Wolverhampton. It was actually my host's first time there as well, so everything was new for her as well. Will write soon! |

My host went to Bristol on Tuesday to a gig, so naturally I came along for the ride and we spent the Wednesday after doing a bit of sightseeing
War memorial: I can't remember what this was...could have been a church? Another war memorial: Cool water feature. I didn't go in though, didn't want to get wet And hey, look where else I visited! Another library! That's two in one week, hooray! This is a statue outside the library, he's carrying a book. And a photo over the main river running through Bristol. My host wanted to get a photo of me outside a venue called Thekla, which is actually a refurbished BOAT, but we didn't have time because there was a train to catch! |

It's been a while, hasn't it?
I'm going to be very busy travelling to all sorts of places and doing lots of Christmassy activities over the next few weeks so expect to hear a lot more from me My host managed to misplace her camera about two weeks ago, so here are the photos from my trip to Cardiff at the start of December. Guess where the first place we went was? Yes, the library! It's a really big and fancy one. My host used to love visiting it when she lived in Cardiff. So that's another library visited! My host is going to be taking me to Manchester tonight so we're going to try and find one there as well if we have time before the train home tomorrow morning. We also saw a big Christmas tree on one of the main streets: My host also said I had to have a photo next to the statue of Aneurin Bevan. He was a Welsh politician that was one of the main driving forces behind the NHS, but nowadays his statue can usually be found with a traffic cone on his head at some point on Friday and Saturday nights! (Although how people manage to get it on there is some feat considering how high up it is!) |

I was back in Cardiff again for a while! My host was going to a gig to see her favourite band Rusty Shackle so I was brought along for the ride!
This is me at Pensarn station waiting for the train. We had to go to Crewe, then get a train down to Cardiff. It was quite boring, but then it all went a bit pear-shaped by the time we got halfway down the Welsh border because a vehicle struck a bridge and the train we were on got cancelled, so we had to wait outside for a replacement bus to arrive. It took about an hour to get there and we were stood outside in pelting hailstones, which wasn't pleasant. Naturally I didn't venture out of her bag for one second When we got to Cardiff I was all ready to hang out at the gig and document my time there, but unfortunately the hail and rain had been so bad that my host's bag was completely soaked and all her stuff inside, including her change of clothes for the day after, were horrible and damp. Luckily I didn't get too wet because I wasn't near the "edges" of her bag but my host didn't want to take me out again in case I did get wet, so I stayed behind at the hostel and looked after her stuff on the radiator (which actually ended up being a good thing because she got preeeeetty drunk afterwards and I'm not sure if being looked after by an inebriated person would have been good!) I'm now back in Abergele again, have just helped her to wrap some presents I will let you know what I get up to tomorrow, I hope you have a great Christmas!!! |
svartberg Posted Dec 26, 2013, 8:11 pm |
HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!! Can you spot me in the Christmas tree?
My host got some cool presents! One of which was a "make your own sock penguin" toy. I watched Didn't come out anything like it was supposed to! Oh well, she isn't the most artistic of people I ate loads of chocolates to celebrate. I hope you had a great day as well! |
