Hi,
I'm Sally, a small seal. Although I wear a pink scarf my favorite color is blue. The sky is blue, the sea is blue - I love this color. Here you see me with our guests. They told me a lot about their travels. The stories are so exciting, now I want to try it too. Here I sit on our blue sofa - with Ismaya. I love him. Just look at its color. So enough for today. See you soon. Sally |

Jasper Posted Jul 26, 2013, 1:13 pm |
Hi
This morning was kind of boring to me. I climbed a tree in order to see a butterfly, but was not real. Then I wanted to smell a beautiful flower - she did not smell. So I decided to play with my smurfs. Then Jasper called me in, and told me that I have received an invitation. Bergrheinfeld in Germany. I was allowed to use the computer. Ooh, Ooh I will travel to Lower Franconia. The small town is situated on a river, called Main. Sounds wonderful. Jasper told me that the Main is a very romantic river with big bows and beautiful shores. Years ago she even made a trip through Franconia. The longer we looked at everything became clear: Jasper was in Bergrheinfeld, the Hotel Weisses Ross. She could remember the two cooling towers of nuclear power plant on the other side of River Main. Incredible. Now I'll pack my things, I'm in a hurry. I will travel - Juhu! I have to look a gift - it should be something special. A very, very happy seal Sally |

Last goodbye and go. See you in Germany Sally |

Hey mom! Today I arrived in Germany at my first host. I was so excited to see my host and the other TV's but nobody open my envelope . I waited and waited and waited.... A long time later I heard voices.... Then finally I came out. I get a warm welcome from Cherry Lola, Rosalind, HelgaHH and rosemarie. I get a big hug from Fanny, the guest manager. She apologized to me because I had to wait a long time. In this garden shed I had to wait. I get a "Welcome-Sally-barbecue" ! What a wonderful sunset at my first day here! Kiss, Sally |

Dear Mom,
today: sight seeing. Where: Wuerzburg. The weather wasn't so good but that doesn't stop us . First we go to the World Heritage Sites: the Residence. It was built from Balthasar Neumann from 1720 - 1744. The "Hofkeller". This is one of the ten biggest Individual German wine growers. The "Franconia" fountain. The wonderful garden of the Residence. I like it here! Look the trees! We take a little break. Wuerzburg had many churches. This is the "Kilians-Dom". Here are the mortal remains from St. Kilian. The cathedral. The fortress "Marienburg". Two ships on the river "Main". On the other side is the "Alter Kranen". In this house detected Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen on 8. November 1895 the X-Rays. In 1901 Röntgen was awarded the firth Nobel Prize in Physics. At last we drove to the "Steinburg". I had a great view over the city. I hope you like my trip to Wuerzbug! Big kiss, Sally Seal |

Hello!
Today I visited the city of Bamberg. The oldtown of Bamberg is very beautiful and interesting because it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is the river "Regnitz". First I show you the "Altes Rathaus" (Old Town Hall). The painting on the house wall is amazing! Behind me is "Klein-Venedig" (Little Venice). There we go now. Here we are! "Little Venice" are very old buildings from the fishermen. This is the cathetral. Beside the cathetral is the "Alte Hofhaltung" (Old Court). Bamberg was built on 7 hills like Rome. One of this hills is the "Altenburg". This was my little tour through Bamerg. I hope you like it! Bye, Sally Seal |

Here isn't much to see... Schweinfurt is a typical little industrial city... The theater. A fountain beside the theater. In Schweinfurt the ball bearing was invented. This is a really big one... On the river "Main". Then we go to an Ice cream parlour. It was a surprise for rosemarie because one of her Life Mission is to eat a large icecream. And we??? rosemarie is a very nice guinea pic! I may also eat some ice cream! Yummi! |

Hi Mum!
Well, finally I arrived in Australia! It was such a long way from Germany, I thought I'd never arrive. As I crawled out of my travel bag, there were lots of lovely toys ready to meet me. I gave everyone a big hug. I nearly got lost in the grass! But I found this lantern in the garden to help me find my way. We had a little party. I'm resting now from my long trip, but I'll talk to you again soon! xx Sally Seal |

Hi Mum!
Today we went to Fitzroy Gardens. It's a traditional English-style park on the edge of the city. The early pioneers in Melbourne decided that the city should have lots of parks, so Fitzroy Gardens was founded in 1848. There are lots of paths for people to walk on, and interesting things to look at throughout the park. Look, off in the distance! A wedding! This is the Model Tudor Village. It's got Shakespeare's House and lots of other buildings. We weren't allowed into the village, but just looked from the edge. I'm hiding in the ivy! Can you see me? I hope you're well, I miss you! xx Sally Seal |

Hi Mum!
It's the night before Christmas and we're having a Christmas Eve dinner. But first we're going to open some of the presents! For dinner we had roasted vegetables and meats, it was yummy. Then for dessert we had trifle, a Yule log lamington, and some apricots from Host Sister's tree. Merry Christmas! Love from Sally Seal |

Hello!
Today we welcomed a new toy, Alien Princes. She travelled all the way from the U.S.A. It was a very long trip, but now she's here safe and sound. We all gave her a big hug and welcomed her to Australia. Today we are at work with Host Sister. We also went for a walk in the city. I'll show you photos soon. Love you! xx Sally Seal |

Hi Mum!
Today we went for a walk by the Yarra River. It's been very hot recently, but today was a little cooler so we went out at lunch time. Along this part of the river is the Melbourne Aquarium and Flinders Street Station. On the far side is Southbank, where a lot of new skyscrapers are being built. There's Eureka Tower, the largest building in Melbourne. A bigger tower has just been approved for building though, so it won't be the tallest for long! The air was very hazy today, why was that? We checked the new bushfire information website to find out if there are any fires in the state of Victoria at the moment. There are some, but they're far north of here. Host Sister says that no-one was hurt, so that's lucky. See you again soon! Sally |

Hi Mum!
Today I left Australia and set off for California! Wow, it's such a long way.... Before I got into my travel bag, all the other toys gave me a big hug. Into the bag I go! With a few snacks to keep me going along the way. See you when I get to the U.S.A.! Love, Sally Seal |
Ingenieurin Posted Mar 4, 2014, 6:26 am |
Dear mommy,
I've just arrived to the sunny California... which turned out to be not so sunny It's been raining almost all day long. Marina said, there has been a drought here till recently but now it's finally raining and everyone is happy because all the trees, and flowers, and fruits need water to grow. Marina is my new hostess. She showed me her office, her postcards wall and the plants. She is a postcrosser which means she exchanges postcards with people all over the world. I enjoyed my first day in USA but now I'm tired after the long journey and going to bed... good night! |
Ingenieurin Posted Mar 5, 2014, 8:17 am |
Hi mommy,
Today I met my new friends, little Snow White and HOP. Tomorrow we all are going on vacation to Carmel-by-the-Sea. I can't wait! |
Ingenieurin Posted Mar 18, 2014, 5:43 am |
Enjoying some tea with chewy candies |
Ingenieurin Posted Mar 18, 2014, 5:46 am |
Gosh! I'm so tired... and happy
We've just returned from the fantastic vacation in Carmel-by-the-Sea, a small charming place full of blooming flowers. We went there all together to celebrate Marina's and Pasha's anniversary. This town is very pet friendly so Malysh, the German shepherd, could enjoy this getaway with us. So, the 1st good news is - I fulfilled 1/2 of my goals and swam in the Pacific Ocean (which turned out to be freezing). And the 2nd is, on our way back we stopped in Monterey and visited my cousins, sea lions! |
Mouse Posted May 8, 2014, 5:09 am |
I must have fallen asleep as I don't remember how I was brought to this new place. Still in my bag, I heard some whispers and realized I was about to meet my new friends! It was entrusted to StewartBig - old wise mouse - to open the bag. |
Mouse Posted May 8, 2014, 5:15 am |
As I got out of my bag, I met my new friends. So, mum, let me introduce them to you. StewartBig - white mouse, too old to travel, so he only stays at home and travels with his mentor. MrBear - he is getting ready for his very first adventure. he is going to Germany!! And StudentMouse - young rodent who loves school. |
Mouse Posted May 8, 2014, 5:18 am |
Look look look!!! I just got here and I already have something for you! A very nice card with seals )) I will try to send it to you very soon. |
Mouse Posted May 8, 2014, 5:22 am |
I was just familiarizing myself with the new place, when something huge and furry jumped in front of me and grabbed me before I could realize what was going on
Don't worry, mum! It turned out to be my host's pet - a persian cat named Muffin (isn't it a funny name ). She is very friendly and already promised to help me if i need anything ))) |
Mouse Posted May 10, 2014, 6:13 am |
Today one of my new friends was getting ready for his adventure! Before [tv]MrBear got into his bag, I shared some stories of my travels over a cup of tea and some delish homemade chocolate cake |
Mouse Posted May 10, 2014, 6:15 am |
And when the tea time was over, we all wished [tv]MrBear a safe flight and helped him get into the bag. |
Mouse Posted May 10, 2014, 6:24 am |
Today I got up and went to see what it's like outside. The view from our window wasn't promising. But I had to wake up and get ready - I was going to school with my host she had something called "final" today and was a little worried about it, so I was not sure what the plan for the rest of the day was. |
Mouse Posted May 10, 2014, 6:32 am |
So while my host was in the class, I looked around the campus. It looked pretty - all green, trees, palms, nice weather! |
Mouse Posted May 10, 2014, 6:38 am |
Once the class was over, we went to the post office to send MrBear to Germany and sign and send some postcards (postcrossing is fun!) |
Mouse Posted May 10, 2014, 7:01 am |
As we finished with the post office, we got in the car and that is when I found out that we were going to Fisherman's Wharf!!! But soon this traffic ruined our plans. It was clear that we wouldn't be able to make it there before dark Not could we do another thing we had planned - go to a lake near our place |
Mouse Posted May 10, 2014, 7:04 am |
Frustrated with this traffic, we pulled over to get a quick snack. |
Mouse Posted May 10, 2014, 7:10 am |
Mommy, can you guess what's holding me up in the air? kidding! I'm just sitting here on the sunroof of the car )) it's so warm here, I want to take a nap. |
Mouse Posted May 10, 2014, 7:12 am |
After taking couple more pictures looking at this clear blue sky, we safely made it home and decided to go sleep early. We want to take some pictures at the lake tomorrow! zzzzzz... |
Mouse Posted May 11, 2014, 4:22 am |
Today we spent some time at the lake. |
Mouse Posted May 11, 2014, 4:25 am |

Mouse Posted May 30, 2014, 11:19 pm |
OCEAN!!! We drove down to a little town called Monterey. It's got stunning views! Didn't get to swim in the ocean, but took pictures really close to it I wouldn't want to get all wet, right? |
Mouse Posted May 30, 2014, 11:34 pm |
Mum, look! I got a kiss from a squirrel
And then there he is posing for the picture. |
Mouse Posted May 30, 2014, 11:37 pm |

Mouse Posted May 30, 2014, 11:40 pm |
Of course i couldn't have come here all alone. My friends are here as well |
Mouse Posted May 31, 2014, 12:00 am |
I guess they like us here.
We had such a great day yesterday. At first we wanted to go to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, but then we realized that Mouse had a whole day off, so we thought going out of town would be a good idea. Even though the drive was a little tiring (2.5 hours from our place), it was well worth it. We got to drive on famous "17 mile drive" road that connects Monterey and Carmel. Both towns are small and really cute. I'm really happy I got to spend this much time on the beach. I hope you are doing well there, mum! Miss you. Your S-S. |
Mouse Posted Jun 6, 2014, 8:34 am |

Hello, mum! It's been sooooo long and I miss you so much! I lot has happened in the past 6 months, I can't wait to tell you! I was very sad to find out that our website was not working, because it meant that I can't get in touch with you and show you my pictures ( Happily, it's all working now and I can tell you all about my adventures! Right now my host Mouse and I are sitting here watching Ellen Show and getting ready to post the pictures. Are you ready?! |
Mouse Posted Feb 28, 2015, 10:23 am |
So, here how it began! We took this little trip to the city on Janu 5th, 2014. Other tvs, Mouse and I got in her car and drove to San Francisco city! The whole reason we took this trip was because I really wanted to see the famous Fisherman's Wharf. I felt so special! We were gonna spend all day there! Right few minutes before getting to the place, we pulled over and took couple of pictures. I was feeling very playful, so I opened the sun roof and stuck my head out |
Mouse Posted Feb 28, 2015, 2:12 pm |
So first we got to visit this museum at Pier 39. They had so much information about seals! |
Mouse Posted Feb 28, 2015, 2:15 pm |
I think they made a mistake here (( it should be 3431 of us |
Mouse Posted Mar 1, 2015, 2:42 pm |
There are seals all over the world!!! now i definitely want to go visit as many countries as possible! who knows, maybe they will have this type of museum too? |
Mouse Posted Mar 1, 2015, 2:44 pm |
Playing hide and seek ))) can you find me, mum? |
Mouse Posted Mar 1, 2015, 3:05 pm |
We took a nice long walk on Pier 39, saw the place where all the sea lions are resting. There are always people there standing taking their pictures). We came across a very cool display window, that had all christmasy stuff, like house, villages... i really wanted to get in there, but too bad it was all behind a glass window |
Mouse Posted Mar 3, 2015, 12:44 pm |
Stopped here for a second |
Mouse Posted Mar 3, 2015, 1:14 pm |
There was a very cool gift shop at Pier 39 with these shiny sea creatures! |
Mouse Posted Mar 6, 2015, 2:00 am |
Walking down Jefferson street (that whole area is called Fisherman's Wharf). Mum, do you see me sitting on that big scary pirate's arm?! |
Mouse Posted Mar 6, 2015, 2:08 am |
We walked into a couple of gift shops and my host told me I could pick a name tag for myself! cool, right? so I started browsing. Some were too big, some spelled my name wrong But then I finally found the one that fit just perfectly! what do you think, mum? do you like it? |
Mouse Posted Mar 6, 2015, 2:11 am |
After the super long day was over, we got back to our place, we wanted to sit down, rest and have a cup of coffee.
And here we decided to sign a couple of cards for our hosts friends and take our new group picture! Now it's time to sleep) |

Hello Mum,
I arrived in Sülfeld and Dicker Kumpel welcomed me. I showed my card and the chocolate! Then I looked at all the nice Toyvoyagers here – and look – another seal is living here. His name is TobiHH – and it is nice to meet him here. Love Sally-Seal |

Hello Mum,
Believe it or not – I am on a Cruise Ship. It is the Mein Schiff 4. Although I was planned to be here for the June/July-Swap, RikeH invited me to join her on this Cruise. First I show you the pool. We started in Hamburg and had nice views over the new part of the Port. Look, the ship had an indoor pool. There was a smile on the chimney of the ship. No problem, if I would jump into the sea. A look into the other direction. These guys were so funny. And did you realize that I sat on the BLUE one? (#1) On the way to our cabin. This was our cabin, not that big, but enough for a short cruise. We liked this place. Then we started our cruise – with music. Look, a funny boat with water fountains was in front of us. This is a very expensive building in Hamburg. The church is called Michel – it is famous in Hamburg. Two old ships… The port of Hamburg is beautiful. Love Sally-Seal |
RikeH Posted Jun 8, 2015, 7:54 pm |
Hello Mum,
Today it was a day on the Sea – more time to spend on the ship. First we had a cup of coffee. The machine did the work. Well – water around us – but this is typical for a Cruise. Nothing to see in front of us, too. Then it was time for artist – these men did great things with fruit and vegetables. Look, a funny bird. These guys were great. Some people relaxed next to the Pool. Should I run around the ship? Better not… I decided to explore the Ship. These people with the umbrellas were funny. I loved this couple. We relaxed in the sunshine. Yours Sally-Seal |
RikeH Posted Jun 13, 2015, 6:09 pm |
Hello Mum,
We were in Copenhagen and left the Ship for some hours. It looked great! And it is blue... (#2) This was the little Mermaid – full of tourists… but I was the only Seal here at the moment. We continued our walk and stopped next to this beautiful fountain. Not far away there was this little church. I think this is the place where the royals live. Oh – a wonderful church. I went into it. Then we went back to the big place and saw the Guards. This is one of the most famous places in Copenhagen, called Nyhavn. Look, the town hall… … a funny fountain…. … and a big hotel. On our way back to the Ship I wanted to have this photo! This was a great size of the Ship! Time to relax in the sun! Then we left – it was a nice day in Denmark. Yours Sally |
RikeH Posted Jun 16, 2015, 1:25 pm |
Hello Mum,
It is the start of summer – so I went into the garden and had a look at all the flowers here. Do you know which vegetable grows here? White flowers were beautiful, too. I played with these funny guys. And this curious frog told me a lot about the neighbourhood. I loved the colour of this flower. Love Sally |
RikeH Posted Jun 17, 2015, 9:48 pm |
Hello Mum,
Today we walked through Sülfeld. There was a nice lake inside the park. Behind me you can see the old school. There were beautiful roses in front of it. This is the emblem of Sülfeld. This is the church of Sülfeld, and it was open today. We went inside. It was a very old church. Yours Sally |

, It was Dicker Kumpel's birthday and we sang a song for him. Then it was time for the party. I love muffins! Of course no parties without drinks. Murph sent us wonderful lights. Can you see, who this was? Yes, it’s me! The party was over! Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
I am on the way to Canada now. In the plane I watched a nice movie. Then I looked out of the window. It wasn’t very interesting – only some clouds. So I decided to sleep. Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
Today I visited the fortress Louisbourg. It was built in1719-1745. Surely it was destroyed in the Past, but fortunately the Canadian Government decided to rebuild it in 1961. You can see the fortress behind me. Here I was inside the fortress. This was an old storage house. It was fun, walking over the old streets. This was the biggest and the most beautiful building. I went into the kitchen… ...and into a nice bedroom. I had a great view from this point. Surely there was a church in the fortress. It was an exciting day! Yours Sally |
RikeH Posted Jun 29, 2015, 10:48 pm |
Hello Mum,
We were close to the Atlantic Ocean and drove to the coast. The Ocean was rough there. I love the Sea! And surely lighthouses belong to the Coastline. This was a beautiful one. Later we went back to Sydney. Yes – there is a Sydney in Canada, too. Today there was a big Cruise Ship in the Port. Can you see the big fiddle? Then we walked through Downtown Sydney with some old houses. Yours Sally |
RikeH Posted Jun 29, 2015, 11:12 pm |
Hi Mum,
Today I met an interesting man – his name was Alexander Graham Bell. He was an eminent Scottish-born scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone. Of course I couldn’t met him, because he lived some years ago, but I visited his museum. He worked in a room like this. I met an Eagle here – first I thought it was Landroval. I really loved this aircraft, called Silver Dart, There were more amazing things in the museum – this was a ship, which is very fast. To tell the truth, I didn’t get all about these technical things… Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
We arrived in the Cape Breton Highlands National park. I really loved these views. Here I saw the beach with many small rocks – and big waves. We continued our trip and stopped at this look off. Then it was time for a forest. This was a replica of a Scottish crofter’s hut. We crossed this beautiful little river. I really like this region. Love Sally |
RikeH Posted Jul 1, 2015, 10:07 pm |
Hello Mum,
Our second day in the National Park started with this view. On a high plateau we walked through a landscape that looked like moorland. The plant behind me was an insect-eating plant. I am not an insect, but tried to stay in a safe distance. This was the famous view of the Park. We saw a bear with her two children there, but RikeH only watched and didn’t take photos of it. Our last stop was at this beach. The sand wasn’t that beautiful, but I liked the rocks behind me. We slept that night in Cheticamp. It has a big church. We stayed in the blue house, unfortunately it wasn’t as great as we expected. But we had a nice small lighthouse next to it – and other colorful houses. Love Sally |
RikeH Posted Jul 1, 2015, 10:26 pm |
Hi Mum,
Many greetings from a ferry. We are on our way to the Prince-Edward-Island. We go there by ferry. And it is funny – we will drive back to the mainland over a bridge in some days. I could see the Island there. But the view into the other direction was great, too. We saw the other ferry – it had a strange shape. Of course it was time for a lighthouse – so we visited the lighthouse of Point Prim. We saw some fish traps in front of it. Yours Sally |

Hello Mum,
Today we visited Charlottetown. Behind me you can see the Province House. 1864 delegates from Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and the Canadas met here to for the new Canada. These two guys were so funny! This was the St Dunstan’s Basilica. I went inside – it was beautiful. Here was a view from another direction – you can see, how big it is! Charottetown has a beautiful harbor. I love the colorful houses here in Canada. This street is famous for the stores and the restaurants. A friendly rat is the guard of it. Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
It was time to go to the beach – and we visited two National Parks in the North. Here you see me at the Brackley Beach. Because I love lighthouses, we visited another one. It’s the Covehead Lighthouse. We see these flowers anywhere. Then we went to the Prince-Edward-Island-National Park. It is well-known for its high banks. This was the most famous point – the Oceanview Lookoff. There was a beach, too. But I preferred the one I saw in the morning. In the evening we had yummy Sushi in the hotel. Sally |

Hello Mum,
Today we drove over the Island to the lighthouse, where we will spend some nights. On our way we visited this church – Mont Carmel. The interior was beautiful and big! Then we drove to a funny place. Bottle Houses – what will this be? First we saw a beautiful little lake – behind it I saw a strange house. It was the Chapel and it is made of approximately 10000 bottles. Then I went to the next house – it is the first house that was built by Edouard Asenault. He had the idea for these funny houses. Look, I was in front of the bottles. This is the house from the other side. It was built in 1980 (12000 bottles). This was the Cavern- unfortunately they didn’t offer something to drink for me. We had to stop next to this big potato. Eventually we arrived at the West Point Lighthouse. We took this photo from our balcony. This was the beautiful view into the other direction. We enjoyed the sunshine! Yours Sally |

Happy Canada Day, Mum!
We saw another lighthouse today… There was a beautiful view of the beach with the big rocks and the red sand. We saw fisherboats returning from the Sea at the pier and decided to walk there and have a look. Three boats were unloaded there. We saw it better in this boat – they caught lobsters. Then we went to the North Cape – the most northern part of the island – and surprise – just another lighthouse. There were a wind park – this is a Canadian research institute for this kind of energy. On our way back we stopped at this picturesque port. And now I want to show you more of our lighthouse. This was our room. We had a view to the beach. This was the other direction. I went into the lighthouse museum – and started with a nice living room. Of course I went to the top – I had another good view from here. This light bulb was so huge! I really love this lighthouse. Hello Mum,
We went to the Petitcodiac River to see the Tidal Bore. At the moment the river looks normal. The wave is coming! A natural phenomenon caused by the surging Bay of Fundy tides (the highest in the world), the Tidal Bore activity occurs twice daily. The higher waters in the bay cause the water in the placid Petitcodiac River to roll back upstream in one wave. Look, the wave is so high that Surfers can use it! This was interesting! Sally |
RikeH Posted Jul 8, 2015, 11:45 pm |
Hello again,
After seeing the Tidal Bore, we went to the Hopewell Rocks. You should see the Tidal Change there, too. Today we will see it at high tide. Tomorrow we will come back for the low tide. Hm, what is great here? A lot of water – they must show better things tomorrow to wow an experienced traveler like me. This looked a little better. It was very windy at this point. This was the famous point – Flower Pot Rocks. Well, let’s see it tomorrow. Yours Sally |

Hello Mum,
We are here again – today it is low tide. I went to the first point – yesterday there was only water. Amazing – today we have less water - and a big moat in the ground. Here you see the difference to yesterday. Surely I wanted to see it at the other places. Yesterday I didn’t see that it was an arch. Look, yesterday and today. It was exciting to see the ground of the sea. Then I went to the famous point. What a difference! Today we walked down the stairs – yesterday we would not be able to stay here. Now I believe that there is a big difference between the high and the low tide here. Sally |

Hello Mum,
In the evening I walked through Truro. There is a Truro Tree Sculpture Project. The Truro Tree Committee has endeavored to make the most of an unfortunate situation, the loss of many of the Town's stately elm trees to Dutch elm disease. They decided to make nice sculptures from the poor dead trees. I loved the first stature – a lumberjack. This was the town hall. Here you can see the first mayor of the town. A woman with a girl. And the last one was this funny man next to the beautiful carriage. Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
We visited Grand-Pré. Grand-Pré National Historic Site is a park set aside to commemorate the Grand-Pré area of Nova Scotia as a centre of Acadian settlement from 1682 to 1755, and the British deportation of the Acadians that happened during the French and Indian War. This ist he Statue of Evangeline and the Memorial Church. They showed what happened in the Past. But I loved this beautiful window more. There were nice flowers in front of the church. Then we went to Black Smith Shop. They used this for transport in that time, now we had a nice place to sit on. This was the old well. I liked this Site. Sally |
RikeH Posted Jul 11, 2015, 11:10 pm |
The same day we travelled back in time and went to Port-Royal.
The Habitation at Port-Royal was established by France in 1605 and was that nation's first successful settlement in North America. Port-Royal served as the capital of Acadia until its destruction by British military forces in 1613 There was a well and many wooden houses. I went into the kitchen. And they ate in the Common Room. The beds didn’t look very comfortable. But I had a great view from this room. This storeroom was called Sail Loft, because ship supplies were stored here. At the end we had fun playing on the Palisade. Sally |

Hello Mum,
I explored Digby. They have high and low tides here, too. Now it was low tide. You can see that we are near the Sea here. There was a festival with music. I saw a strange mermaid in a park. But I liked this clock more – it showed the time of high tide. This is the town hall. Can you remember the first photo? Not it was high tide – and the ships were much higher at the pier. Then I played in the garden of our hotel. I had fun with the frogs! Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
After so many day at the sea we drove to the Keminkujik National Park. It was really beautiful – just like a rain forest. The Mersey River was really nice. Then we reached the goal of our walk – the Mills Falls. It wasn’t high, but I liked it. Murph, look, a beautiful mushroom. This place is known for turtles and other animals. I found a frog. Then we found this great place on a tree for all of us! Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
Today we went to a small town called Lunenburg. There were colourful houses in the streets. And I saw ships in the harbour. This was a nice monument for the fishermen who died. I liked this view. A big sailing ship! Here you can see how big the head of a whale is! Then we drove to small place called Blue Rocks. It was so nice and quiet here. What a funny house with a lighthouse next to it! 39 Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
Behind me you see a famous lighthouse from Canada. Peggy’s Cove. I had a nice view here. There were many people on these rocks. The lighthouse is really beautiful. Later I saw this funny rock, created by an artist. Sally |

Hello Mum,
Later that day we arrived in Halifax. First we went by boat. This wall had beautiful paintings. Later we went into a nice garden. I liked the fountain – but I didn’t like the gun of the man on the top. I loved these beautiful plants. The group in the small pavilion played jazz. The girl on the fountain was much better than the man on the first fountain! In the evening I saw a big cruise ship from my hotel room. Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
It was our last day in Canada – and we visited the Fortress of Halifax. On our way we passed the clock tower. There was a guard in front of the Gate. It was an interesting museum. The fort was sooo big. There was a lot of place between the walls. This will be my famous place – but what is it? Not wine, but powder… This was the bedroom of the soldiers. It was a great time in Canada. Yours Krystal |

Hello Mum,
Sorry for the long time without the updates, but you know the reason. And luckily I was allowed to go on another trip with Dicker Kumpel - so you can see some more updates from other countries. We will go on a River-Cruise, but first we went to Cologne – and you see the Cathedral of Cologne behind me. Next to it I saw this nice fountain. We went inside – it was great. I loved the colourful windows. This Altar was beautiful. I wanted to have a photo with this golden thing, but it was not so easy to take. Back home in the hotel we had delicious cakes. Yours Sally |

Hello Mum,
Greetings from Cologne again. Before we start our Cruise, we took a walk through Cologne. This was the place of one of the dancers in the carnival time. This fountains shows a fairy tale – the Heinzelmännchen. Look, a funny tower – and next to it you see something! Yes, it was our boat! I am so excited! I went onto the sun deck – and looked around. Then we were on our way – first we passed some modern building. Then I saw the skyline with the Cathedral. It was great! Yours Sally |

Hello from Amsterdam, there is a lot of water here – and many big buildings. AND a lot of bicycles, but you cannot see it on my photos.
We arrived at a big place – I think that the building behind me had a relation to the Royal Family, but I am not sure about it. Next to it I saw a nice church. This building looked like a castle, but it was a shopping centre. Then we crossed on of the famous town canals. The Netherlands are well-known for their cheese. Many people live on boats in this city. And white bridges like this one are typical for the Netherlands. Back in our cabin, we met this funny guy. Yours Sally |

Hello Mum,
In the afternoon we went to Zaanse Schans – a place with many wind mills. We went into one of it and learnt a lot. This mill was so beautiful! This one, too. I cannot decide which one was better. Then I saw other typical houses for this region. These wooden shoes belong to the Netherlands, too. A last view to the mills… …then I crossed this bridge and went to the bus. Our next city was Edam – well-known for its cheese. There were many beautiful houses – not as big as in Amsterdam. An alley full of nice houses. Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
Funny white people are living on our ship – and some of them come and visit us- maybe they are ghosts? This time it was an elephant. Today we spent some day on the water – this was interesting! We saw some big ships! But we could see nature… …and small towns. The weather wasn’t as bad as it looked like on this photo. We arrived in Rotterdam and took a sightseeing-tour on our ship. There were high buildings and tall bridges. It was a nice day! Sally |

Hello Mum,
This afternoon we visited two big cities. We saw a lot from Den Haag – but out of the bus. Fortunately we stopped next to the Peace Palace. Near to it I saw this flame. We had fun on these funny benches. Then we continued our trip to Delft. Delft is well-known for its ceramic. We went into a factory. In this cupboard we saw nice dishes. I liked this picture. But the best was the funny car! Then we went into the old city. Look, it was so sunny! The church was very tall. And I liked the city hall. The place was great! Surely there were water and bridges! Sadly you cannot see on this photo, how inclined this tower was. But it was! We saw many emblems on this house. Delft and Den Haag were two beautiful cities! Yours Sally |

Many greetings from Antwerpen. I found a nice fortress here, near to our ship.
I didn’t understand this monument, but it doesn’t matter. This big building behind me was the newest museum in the city. But I don’t like museums too much – so I looked at the beautiful boats. We liked this funny guy! In the afternoon we took another walk – and went into a museum for a short time. Then we went to the Liebfrauen-Church. We saw it from far away. But before we went into it, I wanted to have a photo with this nice hotel. Then I went into the church – and I loved it! The pictures of Rubens are famous! We went outside – the city was very crowded. Surely we went to the big place with the city hall. But the other buildings were beautiful, too. Look – the fortress from the morning – it looked nice from far away, too. Guess, what kind of building was behind me? Right, the railway station of Antwerpen. It should be one of the most beautiful stations in the world. We will see. Well – it was impressive. Oh – it was late – time to go back to the ship. It is important to eat a lot on a cruise! Hello Mum,
We went into the Zoo of Hamburg today – and look, there was a small elephant. Well, the maras were much smaller. There was a part in the Zoo that looked a little Asian. The dragon was funny – water came out of its nose. These guys had delicious food – and wonderful buildings. I never went so close to a big bear! Many years ago this was the Main Gate of the Zoo, but then the Zoo grew and now it is inside of it. This was the founder of the Zoo – and look, he had a lion! The polar bear was very tired. Then we went to the best place of the Zoo. I talked with the friendly guys and thought about swimming with them. Look, auntie Robbie was here, too. It was a wonderful time! Look, funny Pinguins. These building very nice – maybe they were from Iceland? We met some relatives of Dicker Kumpel. The lions were lazy. Time for Zebras. Back in the quiet part of the Zoo. It was a nice day! Sally |

Hello Mum,
The weather was nice, so I went into the city of Hamburg. Behind me you can see the Alster. I liked this view - the big white building is an expensive hotel. These are the Alsterarkaden… And when I turned right I saw the town hall. The swans are famous for the Alster. I had a closer look at the town hall. Hamburg is a beautiful town! Yours Sally |

Hello Mum.
It was time for a nice garden – or park. We went to the Jersbeker Park. This house belonged to the garden – but it was outside of it – strange. This was the rondel in front of the park. What a nice and beautiful entrance! These trees are called the 12 Apostles. It was nice to stand between the trees and look into the sky! It seems to me that autumn is coming. This alley was beautiful! And I liked this view, too. In the Past there was a big vase in the middle of the pond - but it was lost – and now there is this nice obelisk. This place was not so funny – two people have their graves here. This house is beautiful – they used it for cooling many years ago. On our way home we found something interesting. Look, what a wonderful painting! And this is the emblem of Sülfeld! Love Sally |

Hello Mum,
It was time for me to continue my trip, but before I jumped into my envelope I played in Dicker Kumpel’s cellar. Maybe horses lived here in the past? I played this horn - it was so loud! Then I called Sue to let her know that I am on the way to Australia now! It was time to say good-bye to Dicker Kumpel, we had a nice time together. Love Sally |
RikeH Posted Nov 9, 2015, 2:00 pm |
Surprise!
Look, where I am, Mum! Today Rike found an envelope in her post-box. And it was me! No idea, why I am back home, but I climbed out of the envelope and talked with Dicker Kumpel and Kleine Fee. Rike will send you a message. Love Sally |
