Hello world,
I was born in a cold place, had to lay in a dark cardboard box, so now I wanna know if there are warm and sunny places where I can watch plants grow and have nice long walks. I would love to walk throu gardens and parks, forests and deserts. A place near by the fireplace or oven would be fine too. I love warm food and hot drinks. Everything that is not cold or a small box would be fine. Well, the other TVs explained me if I would like to travel to these places, I would have to go into envelopes or small parcels. Well, ok, I can stand this pain, if I get to a nice place to stay for a while in reward. Here I'm in the garden: Here up in the appletree, is a good place to look around. Here I am with my siblings and Fimbo Fimble This is my sister Lillepuss |

Hi mummy,
when I arrived, Jasper took me to the balcony. That was exactly right for me. After dark jacket I could sit here under a small tree and enjoy fresh air and the sun. I tried out the new swing and lay down on the sun lounger. 37 ° today. By and by the other TV's came and greeted me. Snake Speare, Panda_Lilo, Ismaya, Hase, Wolley and Shakespeare. And that we are, Jasper's gang. see you Dotti Scotti |

Hello mum,
Today I helped host brother to prepare the dinner. I cut onions and steamed them in olive oil. I pureed tomatoes and fresh basil harvested. Everything was put together a tomato sauce. Then I helped make a dough. ( sorry, I'm a bit blurry ) I cut ham and chili. In between control the dough. The result of our efforts was pizza. A pizza with ham and one with salami and chili. I chose ham pizza. A fresh pizza and a (small) glass of Chianti, it tasted wonderful. Arrivederci Mom Dotti Scotti |

Hello mum,
yesterday, when Jasper was at work, the bell rang at the door. Although it is not allowed to open the door in Jasper's absence, we could not resist. Hase opened the door a little bit and discovered a envelope with interesting stamps. A packet from Trinidad and Tobago, wow. Together we brought the envelope into the dining room and considered what we should do. We opened it. The result was a small giraffe, wrapped in pink paper. We introduced ourselves and gave GiGi (so the giraffe is called) a warm welcome. She is so cute, I like her. yours Dotti Scotti |

Hi mum,
Today we celebrated Shakespeare's birthday. Its 89th Birthday. Can you imagine that? At Wikipedia we read, the turtles have lived on earth before the dinosaurs evolved. Shakespeare has held up well. We congratulated him and sang a song. He got a cake and a fishing rod. While we waited for the cake, he practiced fishing. Greetings from Dotti Scotti, who hopes the rainy season is almost over. |

Hi mom,
Today we said goodbye to Hase. She travels home to visit her mom. Therefore, we had a big party yesterday. Sweets as much as we wanted. We could bathe in it and had so much fun. There was a lot of laughter and stories and adventures were told. But today we had heavy heart. As Hase grabbed her things a few tears flowed. We all wished her a safe journey. Bye mom Dotti Scotti |

Hello mummy,
weekend was the northeastern Swiss Yodel Festival in the neighboring town. It was a great event with 4000 participants and about 45,000 visitors. I attended the parade on Sunday. 60 teams or choirs participated with festive floats. I saw many women, men and children in beautiful traditional costumes. Some distributed specialties from their home, others threw sweets into the audience. We had a lot to do with the pickup. The oldtimer of a brewery. Musicians on horses Alphorns And that is something very special. It is called "Schelle Schöttle" (bells shaking) In Eastern Switzerland for the alp procession only the three leading cows wear huge bells made of welded sheet metal. The bells are valuable and on the way up, the herdsmen remove them from the cows in order to protect them. They are carried by the men on yokes over their shoulders. This tradition, documented first in 1838, may have led to the so-called bell-shaking, a musical practice which was observed first in the middle of the 19th century. The Appenzellers shake the bells for fun, much in the way that other play cards. But often the bells are moved forwards and backwards to accompany the improvised polyphonic yodel vocalising. Here you see me at the bus station on my way home This is what we catched. I had a very nice day and learned a lot of Swiss traditions. Bye for now Dotti Scotti |

Hi mom,
Today we had some work to do. We - TV's - got new furniture. A new couch and a new chair. This furniture we had to drag to the third floor. Very sweaty. But they are very comfortable. Luckily Jasper also bought a deck chair. After work, we were able to relax on it. And tomorrow we will travel to Lake Constance. But this is a new adventure. See you mom Dotti Scotti |

Hi mom,
Today we made a trip to Konstanz. Konstanz; English: Constance) is a university city with approximately 80,000 inhabitants Konstanz is situated on Lake Constance (the Bodensee in German). The Rhine river, which starts in the Swiss Alps, passes through Lake Constance and leaves it, considerably larger, by flowing under a bridge connecting the two parts of the city. North of the river lies the larger part of the city with residential areas, industrial estates, and the University of Konstanz; while south of the river is the old town which houses the administrative centre and shopping facilities in addition to the Hochschule or the University of Applied Sciences. Car ferries provide access across Lake Constance to Meersburg, and the Katamaran provides a shuttle service for pedestrians to Friedrichshafen. To the south, the old town borders onto the Swiss town of Kreuzlingen. This is the Munster. We saw beautiful old houses. The casino - we wanted to play roulette or blackjack, but Jasper said no. So we admired the view, and talked with a swan. Behind us you can see the Steigenberger, a luxury hotel. On the way to the old town. This is the Town Hall The courtyard of the town hall. An art object - the inscription on the red table means: unbounded thinking Exactly what make TV's. Still a lovely old house called Graf Zeppelin. Here we are at the harbor. At the harbor entrance stands the Imperia. The Imperia is a statue at the entrance of the harbour of Konstanz, Germany, commemorating the Council of Constance that took place there between 1414 and 1418. The concrete statue is 9 metres high, weighs 18 tonnes, and stands on a pedestal that rotates around its axis once every four minutes. The Imperia shows a woman holding two men on her hands. The two men represent Pope Martin V and Emperor Sigismund. Martin V was elected during the Council while Sigismund was the king who called the council. Both are naked except for the crown and papal tiara, respectively, that they wear as symbols of their power. Jasper suddenly saw a Zeppelin on the way home. Unfortunately, we were crossing a bridge and could not stop. And unfortunately he is not very good to see. The little dot next to the flag. Now I'm tired. Good night mum Dotti Scotti |

Hi mom,
Sunday we took a trip into the history of Switzerland and walked a little on William Tell's footsteps. We visited the Central Switzerland and Lake Lucerne. On our way we saw many beautiful landscapes and of course lakes. The first lake was the Aegerisee in Canton Zug. From high above we could look at him. We drove along Lake Lucerne to Sisikon and hiked on the "Swiss Path" (The Swiss Path is the name given to a special national path in central Switzerland opened in 1991. It makes a loop around one arm of Lake Lucerne, starting in Rütli and passing through Bauen, Flüelen, Sisikon and Morschach, finishing at Brunnen. The total length is around 35 km (22 mi), taking 2 or 3 days to complete. The route recognises each of the cantons making up Switzerland, with markers announcing each canton along the route. The length of route for each canton is proportional to the population at the time of building, and the order is determined by the order in which the cantons joined the Swiss federation) to Tell chapel, the oldest chapel in Switzerland. It lies on the Tellsplatte, where according to legend, William Tell to have jumped from the boat of the provincial governor Gessler. Already in 1388 a chapel was built. In 1503 as a chapel Holy Hüslin is mentioned. A new or remodeling was 1590th The present chapel was built in 1879 / in 1880. It is adorned with four frescoes by Basel artist Ernst Stückelberg shows the Rütlischwur the apple shot, the death of Gessler and Tell's Leap. Here you see Tell's leap. We drove on to Altdorf, the capital of the canton of Uri. Altdorf is best known as the place where, according to the legend, William Tell shot the apple from his son's head. This act by tradition happened on the market-place, where in 1895, at the foot of an old tower (with rude frescoes commemorating the feat), there was set up a fine bronze statue of Tell and his son. In 1899 a theatre was opened close to the town's center for the purpose of performing Schiller's play of Wilhelm Tell. Here you see me before Tell's Memorial. Continue along the lake and through many tunnels we drove towards Brünnigpass. The pass is nothing special but on the way one has a view of the Lungerensee. And that is something special. Looks like a post card Hiking and driving made us very tired. The way home we slept. Bye mom, Dotti Scotti |

Hi mum
Today we were on the river Thur. We wanted to swim and fish. Jasper had much to bear: some beach towels, sun deck, fishing rod, hammock and a parasol and of course us. Once at the river we looked for a suitable place. We found a small sand bar that had washed up the flood and made ourselves comfortable. Shakespeare threw his fishing rod but nothing wanted to bite. But the mosquitoes bite, and that us. We tried to make a fire but everything was still damp from the storm last night. It took some effort but we managed it. We all had a fun day. Dotti Scotti |
Jasper Posted Jul 22, 2013, 6:38 pm |
Hi mom,
Today is Sunday and we enjoy the day and the sun on the balcony. Too many people and mosquitoes at the Thur. We lounged around all day. We drank a lot of water but not only. For dinner we had something special: prawns and focaccia. We celebrated Wolley's farewell. He travels to the French part of Switzerland and met his mother there. He is very happy. We laughed and talked until late into the night. Bye mum, Dotti Scotti |
Jasper Posted Jul 22, 2013, 7:23 pm |
Hi mom,
when we woke up this morning, Wolley's bed was empty. We found a letter from him. Shakespeare read it to us. Wolley do not like goodbyes and tears longer, so he has sneaked in the morning. Goodbye friend, have a safe trip. Bye mom, your somewhat wistful Dotti Scotti |

Hi mom,
Yesterday we started at 6 in the morning to Munich. Fairly early but we had to drive nearly 280 kilometers. The weather was nice but the time was long. Then finally - we saw our first destination. The Allianz Arena. Home of FC Bayern Munich. We marveled trophies, soccer stars and exhibits. Then we took a tour of the arena. Fan or not - it was very impressive. With the subway we went to the City. First stop: the famous Hofbräuhaus. The Hofbräuhaus am Platzl is a beer hall in the city center of Munich, Germany. The inn was originally built in 1598 by Bavarian Duke Maximilian I. It was built as an extension of the original Hofbräu brewery, but for Weissbier (wheat beer). The general public was admitted only in 1828 by then king Ludwig I. The building was completely remodeled in 1897 by Max Littmann, when the brewery moved to the suburbs. In the bombing of WW II, everything but the ground floor (Schwemme) was destroyed; it took until 1958 to be rebuilt. First we drank a beer - ooh so good - and ate a big pretzel. Then we tried a specialty: pork shank and dumplings. Yummy, yummy. Stuffed full, we needed some movement. We looked at the restaurant of a famous celebrity chef and tried his ice cream Not bad. After looking at the beautiful old houses we went further to Viktualienmarkt. The Viktualienmarkt is a daily food market and a square in the center of Munich, Germany. The Viktualienmarkt developed from an original farmers' market to a popular market for gourmets. In an area covering 22,000 m2 (240,000 sq ft), 140 stalls and shops offer flowers, exotic fruit, game, poultry, spices, cheese, fish, juices and so on. The maypole at Viktualienmarkt. The tower of St. Peter church. The parish church of Saint Peter, whose tower is commonly known as "Alter Peter" - Old Peter - and which is emblematic of Munich, is the oldest recorded parish church in Munich and presumably the originating point for the whole city. Then was our interest in the Marienplatz with the "New Town Hall". It was built between 1867 and 1908 by Georg von Hauberrisser in a Gothic Revival architecture style. It covers an area of 9159 m² having 400 rooms. The 100 meters long main facade towards the Marienplatz is richly decorated. It shows the Guelph Duke Henry the Lion, and almost the entire line of the Wittelsbach dynasty in Bavaria and is the largest princely cycle in a German town hall. The central monument in the center of the main facade between the two phases at Marienplatz above the guard house, is an equestrian statue of Prince Regent Luitpold. The bay of the tower contains statues of the first four Bavarian kings. The main facade is placed toward the plaza, while the back side is adjacent to a small park (Marienhof). The basement is almost completely occupied by a large restaurant called Ratskeller. On the ground floor, some rooms are rented for small businesses. Also located in the ground floor is the major official tourist information. The first floor hosts a big balcony towards the Marienplatz which is used for large festivals such as football championships or for concerts during the Weihnachtsmarkt. Its main tower has a height of 85 m and is available for visitors with an elevator. On the top thrones the Münchner Kindl. The Rathaus-Glockenspiel, performed by an apparatus daily on 11am, 12pm and 5pm, is a tourist attraction. Not only we want to see this place. It was just time for the chimes. Next to the town hall tower you can see the towers of the Frauenkirche (Church of our Lady), another famous church of Munich. By Kaufingerstrasse (shopping street and pedestrian zone) we walked to the Frauenkirche. The picture looks a little funny but the church is being renovated That was the only part which is not blocked by scaffolding. Jasper did her best. Slowly, it was time to think on the way home. At Stachus (Karlsplatz) we took the subway back to our car. Then drive for hours. We still enjoyed a beautiful sunset and then fell into bed tired but happy. Hugs, Dotti Scotti |

Hi mom,
Thursday, 6 clock in the morning. We packed our suitcases once again. Our destination: Engelberg 9 am - We stopped at Lake Lucerne. Jasper showed us the Rütli on the other side of the lake. The Rütli, a meadow, is a historic site for the Swiss. 1291 here three brave men have made a covenant by oath against the Habsburgs (the evil taskmasters). This Rütli Oath is considered the founding of Switzerland and is on 1 August celebrated as a national holiday. Awesome we looked at the small meadow. (The small round lakeside lawn - right above my nose) Then we drove to Engelberg. Engelberg is the leading mountain resort (Urner Alps) in central Switzerland. In the Middle Ages, Engelberg was known for the educational accomplishments of its Benedictine monastery, the Engelberg Abbey, whose school was well-known and regarded throughout the country. From the 19th Century, Engelberg became internationally known as a resort and spa, but is today visited as much for skiing as for its clean air. With its combination of modern sports facilities and alpine location, Engelberg is a magnet for both summer and winter tourism. The closest large cities are Lucerne and Zurich. This was our hotel. After checking in, we went immediately on the way to the cable car and drove to Härzlisee (little heart lake) The mountains here are a paradise for paragliders. Because mountain air makes you hungry, we strengthened ourselves with specialties of the region and a glass of wine. Then we enjoyed the great view and the beautiful weather. On our way back we saw the monastery. We also had a look at the magnificent monastery church. The monks just celebrated their evening prayers. Out of respect we did not take pictures. Due to the National Day there was a great feast in the village. There was so much to see. Jasper wanted to photograph everything, but the masses of people made it impossible. Here are a few pictures of the parade. Mom, it's 9:30 pm and still as bright. On the way to the hotel we saw far away on the mountainside a cross of torches. Exhausted, we fell into bed. Love you mom, Dotti Scotti |
Jasper Posted Aug 3, 2013, 4:23 pm |
Hello all my friends,
Next day - next fun. We all awoke early in the morning. On the balcony we had a good view of Engelberg. The wonderful fresh air and the sun awakened the thirst for action within us. Quickly host dad thrown out of the bed and then for breakfast. Strengthened for the adventure of the day we were waiting in the lounge, while host dad paid the bill. The angel of the hotel. These angels sculptures standing throughout Engelberg (Engelberg - Angel Mountain) and are painted individually. And because our hotel was named "Edelweiss", this angel is painted with Edelweiss. So, our destination today: Mount Titlis On this panel you can see what heights we will move today. The first look at the summit. The first view from the summit. Speechless, we admired the mountains. The transmission system. Cooling in the snow. And now the Cliff Walk! The test of courage. Not for us, for Jasper. Europe's highest suspension bridge. Only 140 meters long but 500 meter abyss below. It swayed and wobbled and it was absolutely great. Because Jasper thought she need to sit down, we decided to take the Ice Flyer - the glacier chairlift. Haha, we had to stay in Jasper's pocket. Minimum size of 1:20 meters. One after another was allowed to come out of pocket for a picture. Jasper was afraid we might fall and forever disappear into a crevasse. Perhaps we would show up after years or decades as a TV glacier mummy again. An interesting idea. After a short break on the glacier we took the cable car down to our next destination. Trübsee, a small mountain lake on a high plateau below the Titlis. We walked around the lake and marveled again and again the mountain scenery and the plants. Then it was finally time for the journey home. The cable car took us back to Engelberg. Here you can imagine how steep it is. We had much to talk about on the way home but at some point we fell asleep and dreamed of Cliff Walk. We had two great days. See you soon Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
Yesterday we celebrated my first Birthday. I got a big cake with a candle. My friends played music and sang Happy Birthday to me. I blew out the candle and cut the cake. Then we all enjoyed a large piece. It tasted wonderful. I also got a gift. 3 wishes. Whatever I want - if Jasper can fulfill, she will do it. Magnificent. A first desire I have. Love you mommy Dotti Scotti |
Jasper Posted Aug 10, 2013, 4:48 pm |
Hi mum,
do you remember the three wishes that I got for my birthday? One of them I used for a farewell pizza party for Shakespeare and GiGi Giraffe. So last night we sat together one last time, and enjoyed our pizza. Then they packed up their belongings and said goodbye. Their path leads to Austria + Canada. After a big hug and many good wishes they crawled into their envelopes. Goodbye my friends, have a good time. Have also a good time mum. Dotti Scotti |

Hi mom,
when Jasper came home from work today, she brought with her a new guest and a packet. Jasper introduced us. Twixx is the name of the little billy goat. We all greeted him very friendly. Together we went to the dining room where he showed us his gifts. Curious, we then opened the other envelope. Many sweets, a nice card, a tiny pilgrim's staff and a film container appeared. Snake Speare carefully opened the box and a small - really small mouse looked out. Frederik. We welcomed him warmly and hugged him very carefully. Two new friends - now the fun can go on. Hugs and kisses Dotti Scotti |

Hi mom,
after many days of heat, it was a bit cold today. To warm up Jasper suggested to drink a latte macchiato. Great idea. First we heated milk and then hit a solid foam. We made an espresso and added it gently to the milk. Perfect. Below milk, espresso in the middle and milk foam on top. I enjoyed it to the last drop. Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
Yesterday I visited the Alp Sellamatt. First we took the car to Alt St. Johann and there boarded the cable car. This brought us to 1390 meters above sea level. We had a great view of the Thur valley, the Säntis and Churfirsten. We hiked on a circular route and there was a lot to see: Happy pigs Alpine chalets and many beautiful plants. We also wanted to visit a small chapel but there just a baptism took place. Because we do not want to disturb, we sat on the low wall in front and enjoyed the view. At a fountain we refreshed ourselves. Over the upper Alp our path led us back to the cable car. I slept very, very well that night. Hugs from Dotti Scotti |

Yesterday we said goodbye to SnakeSpeare. He started on his first trip. After a small snack (there were snakes sausages, hihi) we sat together, ate muffins and gave him good advice for his journey. Then it was time to say goodbye. I gave him the friendship bracelet that I have crocheted. After a group hug SnakeSpeare slipped into his travel cover. A last look and lots of good wishes go with him on his journey. Bye bye little snake, and bye for today mum your Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
Yesterday we attended a special event. A hot-air balloon festival. I could watch up close as the hot air balloons were made ready for launch. First the balloon envelope is spread and then inflated with a huge fan. Subsequently, the air is heated with a gas burner. The hotter the air is the more the balloon rises. Then the pilot and passengers climb into the basket and the balloon takes off. It was great. I will also be balloonist. I've found the perfect balloon - TV size. After I had watched many balloons at the start, I was waiting for the highlight of the day - the night glow. Isn't this an incredible sight? Hugs and kisses Dotti Scotti |

Hello mom,
Sunday morning and it's still raining - or again? We do not know. Well that Jasper has found something interesting that does not require good weather. So we went to Stein in Appenzell and visited a show dairy. Here we could see how the famous Appenzeller cheese is made. Mom, you know it surely from advertising: the one with the herbal brine. A cutting-edge facility that is operated by one person, processed thousands of liters of milk into cheese. Then, we let us explain the care and ripening of cheese. Very interesting. And then - a cheese lover's paradise. Approx. 15,000 cheeses are stored here. Slowly but surely we were hungry. Unfortunately, this was not for us. Then Jasper found a place for us and we enjoyed cheese and other delicacies. An interesting and yummy day ends. Dotti Scotti |

Hi mom,
Today Jasper baked a cake for us. She hopes that improves our mood, which has reached a low point after another week of continuous rain. The aroma was fantastic and we could not wait to try a piece. Stuffed full and satisfied I discovered even a little blue sky and a ray of sunshine. There is hope. Dotti Scotti |

Hello mom,
Jasper had a lot to do yesterday. Because the weather was so beautiful we have connected the "Must" with the "Allow". So we strolled in Wattwil - the center of the Thur Valley - along the Thur. Far away we saw the monastery of St. Mary of the Angels. (The small white houses above the center of the bridge) On the other side of the river stands the high school. Host brother learned here before he studied chemistry in Zurich. Because the Thur valley is so narrow, most residential areas are built on slopes. This bridge - a pedestrian bridge - is one of many that cross the Thur. Wattwil alone has seven bridges. The redesigned train station place. Among them a parking garage was built. The Post Bridge - built in 1909. This futuristic structure is the steeple of the Protestant church. So we had circled the center of Wattwil. Now came the "must". We ran to the bank, the post office and the supermarket. Go for a walk was funnier. Hugs Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
Autumn has arrived. Outside it is foggy, damp and cold. To warm myself I wanted to drink a hot tea. Therefore, I went to our little balcony garden and picked fresh mint. In the kitchen I stuffed the mint leaves in a teapot and poured everything with boiling water. After a short time my tea was ready. Was doing sooo good. And with my new socks I get no more cold feet. Love you mommy Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy
it's me again. Yesterday there was a Swiss specialty for dinner - cheese fondue. Hungry I waited until Jasper brought the melted cheese. Then I had to stuck a piece of bread on a long fork, and thus stir in the melted cheese. That was funny, especially because I stirred so wild that Jasper was afraid I might fall into the cheese. After a short wait - the cheese was so hot - I enjoyed my first bite. Very yummy. To empty the pot was not a problem. Now I am looking forward to raclette. yours Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
it's me again. Our first trip took us to Schönbrunn, the summer residence of Empress Maria Theresia. The exceptionally large Castle (1441 rooms) is built in baroque and rococo style. It served as the residence of the imperial family, but also for representative purposes. The Neptune Fountain was built in 1776-1780. The Palm House. In the huge park countless gardeners were busy prepare the beds for winter. The Gloriette. In front of the castle we met "Mozart". A bit later we drove to the hotel. It was a long day. That's it for now. Bye, love you Dotti Scotti |

after a long sleep and a good breakfast we started in the second Day. The Naschmarkt on the program. The weather did not look promising, but that could not stop us. The Naschmarkt is Vienna's most popular market. Located at the Wienzeile over the Wien River it is about 1,5 kilometers long. The Naschmarkt has existed since the 16th century when mainly milk bottles were sold (As Milk Bottles were made out of Ash (Wood from an Ash-Tree), "Asch"(German for "Ash")led to the name "Aschenmarkt"). From 1793 onwards, all fruits and vegetables brought to Vienna with carts had to be sold here, while goods arriving on the Danube were sold elsewhere. Nowadays, you can buy fresh fruit and vegetables from around the world, exotic herbs, cheese, baked goods such as bread, kaiser rolls, and torte, meats, and seafood. There are also a lot of small restaurants which offer e.g. sushi, kebab, seafood, traditional Viennese food such as Kaiserschmarrn or Palatschinken (compares to rolled up crepes) and stalls which offer clothes and accessories. We strolled through the market and admired the offer. The traders are very friendly. Everywhere you can taste the goods. Once the market run up and down and you are full. Then came the big rain and everyone was looking for a dry place. After dinner (no pictures, it was just too full) we were on our way home. We walked past to the Hotel Sacher, took a look in the Kärntner Strasse (the famous shopping street) and saw the brightly lit Opera House. A day with many impressions came to an end. bye Dotti Scotti |

Hello my dear at home
lots of sun and a bright blue sky lured us outside. The Hundertwasser House was our first destination. The Hundertwasser House in Vienna is a building designed by artist Friedensreich Hundertwasser in Vienna's 3rd district. The extraordinary building was constructed between 1983 and 1985. The colorfully decorated exterior façade of Hundertwasser House draws attention to itself almost magically. Anyone who lives in the Hundertwasser House also has the right to decorate the façade around the windows entirely to their own taste. More than 200 trees and shrubs on the balconies and roof terraces make the Hundertwasser House a green oasis in the heart of the city. A tram took us then to the Prater. The Prater is a large public park in Vienna's 2nd district (Leopoldstadt). The Wurstelprater amusement park, often simply called "Prater", stands in one corner of the Wiener Prater and includes the Wiener Riesenrad. The Ferris wheel was built in 1897 and is 65 meters high. In 1916, it should have been demolished. Due to lack of financial resources it survived. We boarded a gondola and enjoyed the view of the gigantic structure, the Prater and the city. (In the gondola before us a marriage was consummated.) We wished best of luck! Afterwards we strolled through the park and wanted to try everything. Unfortunately, we were for most things either too small or too young. Nevertheless we had a lot of fun. Curious, what would bring us the next day we drove back to the hotel. Greetings from your happy Dotti Scotti |

Servus and hello,
this day started on the banks of the Danube Canal. Through countless small streets we came initially to Jewish quarter with its beautiful houses , the Lessing monument and the memorial to the Jews who were murdered during World War II in Austria. We went on and came to the Parliament. The next building we saw was the Town Hall on the Ringstrasse. Built between 1872 - 1883 it has 1575 rooms , 2035 windows and 5 towers . The tallest tower measures 103 meters - with Rathausmann . Emperor Franz Josef I decreed that any new tower should not be higher than the tower of the Votive Church , which was 99 meters high. The architect designed a 98 meter high tower and put the Rathausmann on it to make it appear higher. Directly opposite the town hall is the famous Burgtheater. These are the towers of the Votive Church. We walked back past the Burgtheater, to the Volksgarten (People's Garden). Between thousands of rose bushes , we took a short break. Then we went to the Hofburg (Imperial Palace). The various tracts that make up the Imperial Palace , were built between 13 and 19 - 20 Century. In the entire history the Imperial Palace was home to some of the most powerful people in Europe. Currently, the castle serves as the official residence of the Austrian president. In addition, it is home to numerous museums, the Spanish Riding School and a convention center. On Heldenplatz outside the Hofburg. One of the many internal courtyard with a monument. I do not remember to whom. The monument to Empress Maria Theresia. Museum of Art History. The Natural History Museum is directly opposite. This is the St. Michael's Wing of the Hofburg. At St. Michael's Square. Here we stand on the terrace in front of the Albertina and look at the Sacher Hotel (from behind). The Albertina houses one of the largest and most important collections of - 50,000 paintings and 900'000 artistic works ranging from the late Gothic period to the present. Albertina Place Then we reached the Stephansplatz. First we saw the Haas Haus, and then St. Stephen's Cathedral. The cathedral has been restored several times, rebuilt and expanded. The massive south tower is 136 meters high and the construction took 65 years. The construction of the North Tower was stopped because of the Gothic architectural style went out of fashion. The roof is covered with 230,000 colored tiles and really spectacular. Because our hooves, paws and claws ached slowly, host dad decided to go Fiaker. A lady drove us with the carriage through Vienna. We saw many beautiful houses. Take pics was a little difficult. It bounced heavily on the cobbles. This is the Peter Church. Then we took the subway to the modern part of Vienna - Danube City. Near the site of the International Garden Show (1964 ) - today Danube Park, with the landmark of the area, the Danube Tower - Uno City was built. Also the tallest building in Austria - the DC Tower (250 meter roof height) - and many banks , insurance companies and the Vienna International Center you can find. The Danube Tower (252 meters with antenna) we had to visit . There is a cafe and restaurant that rotates . From the observation deck we had a magnificent view over Vienna. Kaisermuehlen with the old Danube. And then the new Danube , the Danube and the Danube Canal . Much Danube. At the end of the day we drove to Grinzing wine taverns . The dinner we had earned honestly . After a few glasses of wine we saw everything a little blurry - Jasper also . It was an exhausting but wonderful day . See you soon Dotti Scotti |

Hi Mommy,
last day in Vienna, and still so much to look at . After breakfast we made our way to the Belvedere Palace. At the turn of the 17th and 18 century Prince Eugene of Savoy has bought a huge plot of land near the Rennweg and let there first build the lower Belvedere. He used it as a summer - residence. The Upper Belvedere should be much smaller , but he had apparently too much money, and so he let built a castle, which was much greater than that in which he lived . A beautiful French garden and large pools of water are also included. Because it is autumn , most beds are cleared and the pools have no water . The city park is well worth a visit. We admired the opulent Johann - Strauss monument and sat at the city park bridge that crosses the river Wien . We looked at the Charles Church and drank " Sturm" ( freshly fermented grape juice ) Then it was time to say goodbye to Vienna . The train took us to the airport . Boarding in Jasper's bag. The rest was sleep sleep sleep . Good night my dear ones . Dotti Scotti |

Hello my dear,
for every TV comes a time that he has to travel further. Next travel means goodbye to dear friends. After a long time together, we had to say goodbye today to Frederik and Panda_Lilo. Many big hugs and best wishes will accompany them on their way. And of course some chocolate against boredom. Although, they travel together, there should arise no boredom. With a heavy heart we watched as they climbed into their envelope and left us. Goodbye - have a safe trip. Hugs and kisses for you mommy Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
sorry for the long wait. Jasper was sick and we had a lot to do to get her back on her feet. Today a nice packet has arrived. From Alaska. The first thing we saw were two big, splendid teeth and a giant mustache. Aiviq called our new friend and he's a walrus. He looks soo funny. We hugged him and gave him a warm welcome. He showed us his gifts and told us about his trip and Alaska. He's a nice guy, we will have lots of fun together. See you soon Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
Today we took a little walk. Because Jasper is still not fully fit we ran just a bit through the forest. Not spectacular but the fresh air felt good . To go into the woods we had to cross a pasture. The cows were curious but friendly. The forest looked very wild. During last autumn storm some trees have fallen. The loggers have a lot to do now. The foliage invited to play. Unfortunately, it was too wet. We saw large withered fern fronds. So we walked and walked, enjoyed the peace and occasionally we saw " art " created by nature. In the soft moss we rested a bit. The result of diligent work - and still plenty to do. And then - you will not believe it - we suddenly heard grunting boars . We wanted to see , but Jasper found it safer to turn back. On the way home we bought pumpkins. One in TV size for each of us. Tomorrow we will carve pumpkins - for Halloween. Hugs and kisses Dotti Scotti |
Jasper Posted Nov 3, 2013, 10:09 am |
Hi mommy,
Today is Halloween and I am very busy. I have to carve my pumpkin. First, cut off the lid. Not so easy - and even a bit dangerous with the big knife. Then, remove the seeds and slimy stuff. Disgusting. And now scrape out the pulp with a spoon. Whew, quite exhausting. Thank God we have small pumpkins this year. Jasper does not want to eat again pumpkin soup until Easter. Now I'm going to start with carving. Meanwhile it is evening and we decorate the table. Our pumpkins glowing spooky. We will tell scary stories, and eat sweets. I get goosebumps already. Hugs Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
I should get up earlier. Look at these pictures. Jasper enjoyed this sight today early in the morning. Later clouds came but that did not bother anyone. We had something else to do - bake Christmas cookies. First, we opened the first door of our advent calendar. Then we helped Jasper to decorate the Christmas cards. Very important that they arrive on time. Some have a long way to go. And then we baked Christmas cookies with host brother. They taste wonderful. In the evening we lit the first candle on the Advent wreath. We all look forward to Christmas. I hope you had a nice day too. Love and miss you Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
Our calendar shows us that Christmas is coming closer and closer. Tomorrow comes Santa. We have hung our socks and wait eagerly if Santa fills them. Obediently we always were. Mostly - Jasper says so! I am happy and looking forward to. I wish you a beautiful Christmas season. Dotti Scotti |
Jasper Posted Dec 13, 2013, 2:44 pm |
Hi mommy and daddy,
last night was the surprise big. We found our socks well filled. It looks as if Santa was satisfied with our behavior. In the dining room was still a great bag. We carefully opened it and many delicious things came tumbling towards us. We had a very enjoyable, fun night out. Thank you Santa and bye bye. Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
yesterday came a great package. We were all very curious about what is in it. Maybe Christmas gifts? When we opened it, we saw first a lot of colorful paper. Then a colorful beings came to the fore. It smiled at us and greeted friendly. I must admit, for a moment I forgot my good upbringing. The curiosity was stronger. So we looked for more gifts without welcome the new arrival. And there were lots of presents. A little ashamed, but even more warmly, we welcomed our new friend Cherry Lola. She showed us her gifts and told us the special story of the angel. We were very impressed. Finally, remained a question - who is Paul? Our mysterious little lady told us that Paul was her former Hostdad. And in this paper his Sinterklaas gift was wrapped. I like Cherry Lola very much - but I love you! Until next time Dotti Scotti |

Hello mommy
A new guest has arrived today. It is Laika, a cute little dog. We gave her a warm welcome and hugged and cuddled her. She brought a beautiful Christmas card. Thank you very much Rike! We still had a lot to talk while enjoying the last rays of sun. Kisses and see you soon your Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
our calendar told us, today is Christmas Eve. Jasper has bought us a small tree that we decorated. The fairy lights gave us a bit of effort, but together we have made it. With the red balls and golden ribbons it looks beautiful. Pride of place was the little angel. In memory of Cherry Lola's mom Kate. And now we wait impatiently for what is to come. First we will eat delicious - with Jasper's dad and her brother - who come to visit. And then we hope to have many gifts. All my loved ones at home - I wish you a wonderful, peaceful Christmas. Big hugs and a thousand kisses Dotti Scotti |

Happy New year!
the last days of the old year were not so funny. Host dad had a few days to the hospital to re-adjust his diabetes. Even our trip to St. Moritz has been deleted. Here it was raining, but in the mountains was so much snow that the rail lines were closed due to avalanche danger. Pity but perhaps arises later an opportunity to go there. I would like to play in the snow, unfortunately, it is at the moment far too warm. Yesterday I was looking forward on dinner. Jaspers family eats traditional cheese fondue on New Years Eve . Yummy! We all helped with the preparation. I have peeeled garlic. And then we had to stir, stir, stir until the cheese was melted. In between, we have set the table . And then we enjoyed a creamy, seductive fragrant fondue and a glass of white wine. Unfortunately the rain prevented the fireworks. Nevertheless we had a lovely evening. All the best for the new year - love you Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy,
Today we made a trip to Lucerne. Lucerne is a city in north-central Switzerland, in the German-speaking portion of that country. Lucerne is the capital of the Canton of Lucerne and the capital of the district of the same name. With a population of about 76,200 people, Lucerne is the most populous city in Central Switzerland, and a nexus of transportation, telecommunications, and government of this region. Due to its location on the shore of Lake Lucerne (der Vierwaldstättersee), within sight of Mount Pilatus and Rigi in the Swiss Alps, Lucerne has long been a destination for tourists. Early in the morning we boarded the train and two hours later we reached Lucerne. On the way we even saw a bit of snow - a rarity in this winter. Arriving in Lucerne we strengthened ourselves first with croissant and cappuccino and studied the map . Then we started our tour. The first thing we saw was the famous Kapellbrücke (Chapel Bridge) and Wasserturm (Water Tower) . Bridge: constructed in the first half of the 14th century as a part of the city fortifications. Named after nearby St.Peters chapel. Watertower: this octagonal over 34 meters high(111.5 ft.) tower was built ca. 1300 as a part of the city wall. Used as archives, treasury, prison and torture chamber. Lucerne's trademark and the most photographed monument in Switzerland. Along the river Reuss we walked further and saw gulls and swans that were fighting over bread. Beautiful houses lined our way to Nadelwehr (Needle Dam). Built in 1859/1860 following the clever style developed by Poiree, the Needle Dam is a unique attraction in terms of both technology and history. From 2009-2011 the facility was renovated and the city's flood protaction was improved. Even today, the level of Lake Lucerne is regulated by hand through the removal and placement of the so-called needles (wooden posts). This is the Franziskanerkirche (Franciscan church) The next attraction was the Spreuerbrücke (Mill Bridge ). The bridge was completed in 1408 as a part of the city fortification. Between 1626 and 1635 Kaspar Mellinger added 67 paintings that represent the "Dance of Death". Called the Spreuerbrücke because chaffs of weat were thrown in the river. Then we had to climb stairs - many many stairs took us to Museggmauer . Museggmauer (Musegg wall): part of the rampart walls built in 1386. Wall almost entirely intact. 8 towers still standing, three are open to the public - Schirmer, Zyt and Männli. The oldest city clock, built by Hans Luter in 1535 is on Zyt tower. This clock is privileged to chime every hour one minute before all the other clocks in the city. From here you have a wonderful view over the whole city and the lake in good weather. As you can see we did not have great weather, foggy and cold it was . Lots of stairs later we admired beautifully painted houses that border the old city scenic places . Goethe was here. On the opposite shore we saw the Jesuit Church . Then we treated ourselves to a lunch break . The next building, which we admired, was the Town Hall (from the back, we will see even from the front). It was built between 1602 and 1606 by Anton Isenmann in Italian Renaissance style with a Bern farmhouse roof for weather purposes. The open arcades facing the Reuss still serve today as a weekly marketplace. The Fritschi restaurant on the Sternenplatz, painted with carnival motifs. The Fritschi is a famous Lucerne carnival figure. And - Luzern + Fasnacht: a madhouse. Then we reached the lake. In good weather you can see from here the Alps with the local mountains Pilatus and Rigi. We strolled a bit along the bank and then went to the Hofkirche (Hofchurch). Main cathedral for the city population and religious centre St.Leodegar and Mauritius. Benedectine Monastery founded here in the 8th century. Fire destroyed church in 1633. Rebuilt 1645. Is the most important Renaissance church building in Switzerland. Next, we visited the Löwendenkmal (Lion Monument). "The dying Lion of Lucerne" is one of the world's most famous monuments. It was hewn out of natural rock in memory of the heroic death of the Swiss mercenaries at the Tuilleries in 1792. Globetrotter Mark Twain described the Lion of Lucern as " the saddest and most moving piece of rock in the world". Once again a short distance along the lake (it was still foggy and cold), passing this funny house, and we reached the Kapellbrücke again. We crossed the bridge and saw this time the town hall from the front. This is the Seebrücke (Seabridge). Under it, the Reuss flows into the Lake Lucerne. On passing Culture and Congress Centre, we reached the station. We said goodbye to Lucerne and were on our way home. Tired, but happy and enriched by many impressions we fell into bed. I hope you like my pictures from Lucerne. Kisses Dotti Scotti |

Hi mommy
This morning I said goodbye. After a long, beautiful time, I will leave Switzerland, Jasper and my friends and return home. After many hugs and good wishes - dressed warmly against the cold and chocolate against hunger - I climbed into my envelope. Now I'm on my way. Mommy, I'm coming! See you soon Dotti Scotti |
