Hello world!
I'm Soeren the elk and I want to travel round the world! I was discovered two weeks ago by the four TVs Joesy, 3*Euro, Knirrie and Konsta[tv] who took a holiday at the North Sea and visited a bookshop in Meldorf. In this bookshop I lived together with my brothers and sisters. I told them that I was bored and wanted to experience adventures, so they asked me to come with them and become a ToyVoyager. Mum bought me (it was love at first sight!) and here I am! My normal height is 25 cm, but because I love yoga, I can bend myself to a height of only 11 cm, very good for traveling by post And now I'm waiting for invitations...please invite me and show me the world! I'm so excited...yours Soeren |

Tomorrow the adventure begins!!!
Unfortunately I have to say goodbye to Joesy, Knirrie, Konsta and 3*Euro...thank you, my friends, for discovering me in the bookshop and telling me about ToyVoyagers! Perhaps we'll meet again! Hostmum, I'm coming!!! |
Yosemite Posted Oct 18, 2012, 4:06 pm |
Hi Mummy!
Believe it or believe it not: I am a toyvoyager! I tarveled a few hours and finally I arrived at hostmum´s apartment. After I crawled of of my envelope I saw the whole colourful gang! Wow, so many TVs! I introduced me as "Here I am, the new one and want to sing here" I am sure they can teach me how to travel correct! But they said I made my first job very good, so I am calmed for a while I explained them where I am coming from and showed the postcard of Paderborn. Hostmum was very happy to read the greetings of 3*Euro, her TV. So, MUmmy, although I slept all the way from home to here I am very tired. Hostmum showed me my bed, it is a very nice couch in the right size. I stretched my legs and felt asleeeeeeeeeeeeep... *maybe I snooooooooooooooooooore* Kisses, Soeren |

Hey Mummy!
Today we went to the brand new shopping mall in Lichtenfels. because I have none I tried some shoes. But - I think - they don´t fit soooo perfect. So I didn´t buy them. Then I saw the historic merry-go-round. Perfect for a ride! I took place and I must do some exercises. I tried how to ride backwards. Hello, hostmum, it woooooooooooooooooooooorks! When we reached the deco shop the best of this day happened: Hostmum bought a yoga frog! I took him as an inspiration and sat down in Lotus seat with a Namaste. Oommmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe I´ll have a yoga lesson here sometimes???? This would be great! Yours, Soeren |

Hello Muuuuuuuuuuuuuuummmy!
Today little Joesy arrived! I know her very well, because we spent some days together at home. Salutatory she gave me a big hug To show us the region we made a trip to Bayreuth. It was really bad weather, so only looked at the miniature of the city and we made some indoor entertainment. At first Cheerio and me won a soccer match Then I saw a crawler where kids and of course TVs can go in. I took my chance! I wanted to built a new shopping mall with a lot of shops for stuff in my size, but hostmum stopped me when I started to break down the existing shopping mall..... Bayreuth, I don´t know if I am allowed to come back Soeren... |
Yosemite Posted Nov 6, 2012, 4:36 pm |
Hey Mummy!
Today we made cookies! We looked for the perfect recipe in a magazine. Lemon cookies sound yummie! With the shopping trolley I brought the ingredients to the kitchen. Flour, sugar, baking soda, butter and an egg is needed for the dough. This should be cookies??? I can´t believe it, hostmum But hostmum kneaded and kneaded... suddenly the dough was a smooth ball... maybe this will be cookies some day... Then the girls put jelly and marzipane on it. Sounds good! After 20 minutes in the oven the dough needed an icing made of sugar and lemon juice. Yeah, what do you say, Mummy? I like the cookies Soeren |

Hello Mummy!
Hostdad is a very good cook, and his most famous meal are Tortellini with cream sauce, bacon and peas. We were not allowed to help today, we were invited for meal! But we sneaked a peek in the pots. Uuuuuuuuuuuuhhhh, looks yummie! We took place on the table and enjoyed our Tortellinis. Mummy, I would like to share them with you, but we ate it all But if you want, I can cook for you, when I am back. I promise! Yours, Soeren |

Dear Mummy, today was a very, very special day! Just read...
We TVs helped hostmum to bake christmas cookies. I never thought that baking can be so good for my psyche We watched hostmum mixing the ingredients: sugar, flour, butter, eggs. The first hostmum made little croissants with vanilla. The smelt so yummie! After they were ready hostmum told me that I will get many relatives. I wondered why... then she showed me a moose-shaped cookie mold! Hostmum rolled the dough and made plenty of mooses. They had to go to the oven. I was in a worry because mooses don´t like heat so much... After they were ready I noticed a special flavour. The flavour of LOVE! I looked where this smell came from. It came out of the bowl with little mooses. Then I saw her. She was the most pretty girl I´ve ever seen... I brought her to a quiet place, and we wanted to be alone. She was even more fantastic than I thought! Just in the moment when we wanted to get intimate, hostmum catched us out with the camera... I hope I will meet her soon! Yours, Soeren |
Yosemite Posted Dec 6, 2012, 4:28 pm |
Dear Mummy,
yes, it´s true! I fell in love... And I wanted to introduce you to my sweetheart Cookie. That´s her name. Hostmum promised me to help me. She will pack a parcel and send Cookie to you. So you are able to see her in person. Your loving Soeren |

Snow, snow, everywhere snow! That´s my element!
The whole day it snowed! We waited patiently at home until hostmum came home and then we asked her if we could go out. And she said yes! We took the old sleigh and went down to the garden. We cued our sleighs up in an line and hostmum wanted to pull us through the garden. But we had a better idea! We saw the perfect bobsleigh run. I knew that could be fun! We built three teams: Team jo-mlp/mcDaniels on sleigh number 1, Team Jethro/MA_17 on sleigh number 2, and Team Noisy on sleigh number 3. What a challenge! We made a perfect start (even if hostmum said I was to early ) But then Team 2 overtook us! We gave everything and gained the lead again! But what was this? Team 2 came back! But we had the ambition to win. So we gave more than everything! And our sleigh finished as the winner! YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHh, strike! Now we are drying in the heater |
Yosemite Posted Dec 24, 2012, 4:53 pm |
Dear Mummy, tonight something crazy was going on in the living room. Hostdad puttered around with a tree. Yes, you heard right, in the living room!!!
But then hostmum explained that it is christmas today and hostdad put the lights on the tree. Now I understand! The other plushies helped to hang in the chrsitmas balls but hostmum seemed to be a little sad. She complained that she has no top for the tree. So I decided to make her happy again. I climbed up the tree (Outch, the fir needles !!!) and took place on top. Then hostmum laughed again But I came down from my position at the top, I needed a rest. It was such a peaceful mood! Do you like our tree? Mummy, I wish you and Cookie a merry christmas! Yours, Soeren |
Yosemite Posted Jan 1, 2013, 10:15 am |
Happy new year, dear Mummy!
We celebrated the New years eve in the garden. Hostdad made a big campfire and hang a pot over it. There he roasted meat and vegetables for a goulash. The whole stuff had to cook 3 hours! During this time we sat together at the fire and talked about the last year and what the new will bring. Yours, Soeren |

Dear Mummy!
What a wonderful day! Maeusle woke us up early in the morning and said there were a wonderful energy in the air... So we followed her to our living room and saw that she prepared th room for a energetic early yoga lesson! Oh yeah, that´s great! Do you remember that it is my life mission to take part in it? But really, it was not necessary to take part in the early bird course... Well... we took place on the mat and I choose a place right in the front. I wanted to see our teacher and make everything correct. At first we made Namaste, it means sit down cross-legged and hold the hands in front of the breast. So we calmed down ( although we only were stressed by the wake-up-call ) Then Maeusle told us to go into the position of the dog. That means: push the bottom to the ceiling and press hands and feet to the floor. No problem for me, because I am very flexible The next position was the cobra. I was a little bit afraid but Maeusle said this is not dangerous. But it wasn´t eays to keep the balance of my horns Thank god the lesson was over then! We got a few minutes to relax from this effort. When we were ready Maeusle said that I am a very good student! That made me very proud and I think I will start practicing yoga from now on! Your Yogi Soeren |

It is a CD with yoga music! Thank you!!! And one more present for me! She also gave me a yellow yoga mat! Now I am fitted with yoga accessoires I made some last exercises and then I said Goodbye to my TV fellows. I had a wonderful time in Lichtenfels and met wonderful new friends! Byebye hostmum and thank you for the presents! Yours, Soeren |

Hi Mum,
my first night I slept very well and today we stayed inside the house because it was too snowy, cold and windy outside. We decides to make salads and I choosed to make a white cucumber salad with selfmade yoghurt-dressing. Fabler Björn made a tasty tomato-mozarella salad and even "princess Charlotte" helped us and did the dangerous job of cutting onions into small cubes. The poor girl had to wear protecting-glasses while she cut, hihi Here You can see how I made the salad and after finishing we ate alltogether, yum yum |

Hi Mum,
today I went with strunki to the office where she works. She promised me to meet somebody who´s eyes are similar hypnotic as mine In her office I met Bong, a snake that lives around her computer-screen and we had a deep look into the others eyes. And I can tell You: we hypnotised each other |

In the evening, whe we came back home, we had strunkis complete gang of plushies here, because they wanted to have fun in the washing machine.
In the Washing machine, can You imagine That?? I heard that the first time and was afraid a little bit but they insured me, that it would be fun for them, because fast spinning is like having fun on the funfair carousel The idea was too spooky for Fabler Björn and me but we gave them our support and stood by them all the time, watching their spinning and heard their laughter inside. During their drying on the stone-plate above the radiator I made new friends between the other mooses and we talked to them the whole night because they were happy to meet us and we narrated them about our live as a tv. We had wonderful conversations with nice and funny plushy-people. What a colourful crew |

the weekend is near and mostly on friday strunki does the cooking for the next two days. But today we decided to cook. So we went to the market and came back with Lottes basket full of vegetables, because we wanted to eat a special kind of Spaghetti Bolognese, the so called "Bolo Bergisch" And here You can see us, what veggies we bought and how we cooked them. And when we finished cooking, we had a lot of fun with the noodles and it was so yumyum, hihi, we ate too much See You soon and have a nice day Big hug for all at home - I love You Yours Soeren |

Hi Mum,
today we went to a Park with indigenous wild animals in Düsseldorf and we learned a lot about the forest and their habitats. We watched wild pigs, fallow deer and moufflons, saw a rascal und wild cats. The huge red deer we only saw on the sign, perhaps they are on holiday? And unfortunately we did not meet a moose or an elk, what a pity But can You imagine, mum, I went to school, a very special school about the forest. There was a box where you only can feel, what is inside...very amazing when You only feel |

Hi Mum,
today the sun was shining and it was warm enough to do some Yoga in the garden, when something beautiful happend: Matcha, the lovely little yellow frog from Japan arrived after his long journey and we all are happy, that he is well and joins our crew now. Lotte heard the Postman and found him in his envelope on the garden table. For his arrival we gave him a warm welcome, drank tea togehter and had some sushies and cakes. I was very pleased, when he gave me a present, a very tasty bar of chocolat, that is very popular in Japan. And during the nice talk we found out, that he also likes to do Yoga But of course he was still a little bit tired from his long journey for about almost two weeks. And so we all brought hin to bed and cared, that he can recreate. Will write more in a few days, see You and love You Yours Soeren |

Hello Mummy,
today we went with our crew to a place of Wuppertal called the South-Hills, from where you have a full view of the eastern part of the valley, Barmen. Unfortunatuly the weather-conditions were not as good as it should be, some of the pictures are a little dark and cloudy. But strunki told us, that this is the typical weather here in the Bergisch-Land. We had about 10°C and it did not rain. In Wuppertal live almost 350.00 Citizens on almost 170.000 Km² and it is the Maintown of the Bergisch Land. The Main townparts are Barmen and Elberfeld and they fusioned togehter with Ronsdorf, Vohwinkel and Cronenberg in the early 30ths of the last century. They started textile-industrialism in the late 19th century and in the Town funded a lot of firms and factories expanded. But on the other hand you only need 5 Minutes to be in the forest or in some parks. It is a very green town. After looking over Wuppertal, we went on to Ronsdorf where we bought some red and orange sweet bell pepper and some meat on the market. In Ronsdorf we visited a little park inside the smalltown and played a little bit in the playground there. I did fun-yoga with Matcha On our way home to Remscheid finally we stopped by an old villa, a house as the best example of an typical style of so called "Bergischer Barock" with lots of ornaments, an impressive Main Door and green window shutters. And in the evening we started cooking |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Mar 10, 2013, 9:29 am |
Today we plushies did the cooking again and it was a great adventure:
We filled the sweet bell pepper with the meat we bougth on the market. Matcha suprises us how excellent he cut the onions japanese style. Banzai! Charlotte fought brave with the mixer, it was a huge one and we all supported her during her figth And we had a lot of fun doing this together and the results are very yumyum |

Hi Mum
today we made a cream cheesecake with blueberries when we noticed, that HelmutBluepant would come back home this weekend. First we wet the gelatine and seperated the blueberry-juice for heating them together. The blueberries we gave on a baked pastry case. After mixing the juice with the gelatine we mixed the cream cheese, we poured it on the blueberries and decorated with some fresh ones. But it took some time and so Matcha decided to cook a fast noodle-soup japanese style, and he did it in a very delicious way. I look very foreward to meet Helmut here and to make a friendship with him. There You can see us all when we track Helmuts way home. |

Hi Mum,
today we made a trip to Wuppertal for riding on the Schwebebahn (suspension railway). It is more than 110 years old, but don´t worry, they rebuilt and modernised a lot since about 10 Years If You want to know more about it, here is the link to wiki [url]http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuppertaler_Schwebebahn[url/] or in English http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wuppertal_Suspension_Railway |

Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Mar 26, 2013, 9:35 pm |
Hi Mum,
today we made a short trip trough Remscheid. Here You can see the historic houses in the Clarenbachstr. near the tool-museum. The next huge building is the town-hall and on the right hand, almost in the middle of the market-place, a high stone-statue of a Lion, our typical heraldic animal of the Bergisches Land. |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Mar 26, 2013, 10:03 pm |
The next stop we took at the famous Bridge of Müngsten.
It is the oldest ironbridge in Germany and almost 100 years old. It connects the towns Remscheid and Solingen by railway and crosses the valley of the Wupper. Before the bridge was built, people had to go a far way by train. The bridge is still in use, can you see the train above me? Under the bridge we visited the "Brückenpark" and went a footway along the Wupper. |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Mar 26, 2013, 11:10 pm |
The third station today was Schloss Burg in Solingen-Burg.
There we visited the old Mediveal Castle of the counts of Berg that was rebuilt in the late 19th. century. The statue you see shows Count Engelbert of Berg. By this noble family the region is named Bergisches Land, not because they have some small mountains and hills here And there we got a typical souvenir: The Burger Bretzel, a sweet small backed Pretzel that is also part of the "Bergisch Coffee Table" as the "Dröppelminna" a huge oldfashioned pot for coffee. |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Mar 26, 2013, 11:41 pm |
In the late afternoon we went back.
And what a surprise: We had an almost traditional Bergisch Coffee Table, a Bergische afternoon coffee spread (Kaffeetafel) So Kaffeetafel is not just an ordinary coffee and cake, but also includes waffles, spread thickly with creamed sweet rice and sprinkled with cinnamon, raisin bread or black bread with butter, sugar beet syrup and Bergisch soft cheese, black bread with smoked jam, cheese, pretzel and zwieback to dip in the coffee. And even a Dröppelminna we had for our Coffee. And I spend Helmut some new coffee out of the Dröppelminna Unfortenatuly we did not have the sweet raisin bread, but it was sooo much to eat fur us plushies, only Helmut was able to eat the most |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Mar 30, 2013, 7:37 pm |
MumMumMum,
I am soooo upset that I can tell You a small pre-easter-surprise: I have fulfilled another life mission: I met a real elk Today, altough it is still very cold here, we went to the "Zoom Erlebniswelt (World of Experience)" in Gelsenkirchen and I enjoyed watching so much animals in near-by natural habitats very much. They have three Areas there, an Asia, Africa and Alaska. Because it was so cold, we saw the most animals outside in the Alaska-Area. So let´s start our roundtrip and look, what animals I was able to discover: In Asia I saw the green wood partridge [Rollulus rouloul] and orang-utans [Pongo pygmaeus]. And there we had a cup of coffee to warm up the freezy Matcha, HelmutBluepant and, of course, who was moaning the whole time about the terrible weather?...Yes, our "Princess of plushies", Charlotte In the african area we had the chance to make a trip by boat, although unfortnately the most animals, only the suricats [Suricata suricatta] were not outside, we saw some other interesting animals inside the african warm-house: (African) gray parrot [Psittacus erithacus], common chimpanzee [Pan troglodytes], hippopotamus [Hippopotamus amphibius] and some cichlids from the Lake Malawi in a aquarium And finally in Alaska we saw the most animals outside: lynx [genus Lynx], snow owl [Bubo scandiacus], raccoons [Procyon lotor], a wild living european redbreasted robin [Erithacus rubecula] caribous [Rangifer tarandus], brown bears [Ursus arctos], Sealions [Otariinae], polar bears [Ursus maritimus], and last but not least: We found the moose [Alces] for me to complete another of my life mission |

I found a green bag full with chocolate eggs and a huge paper-egg with a golden chocolate-bunny in it. We had so much fun to look for the chocolate and had a opulent easter-breakfast alltogehter. And we hope, that spring will still come... |

Hello Mum
The weather today was very nice, the sun did shine and it was not as cold as the days ago. In Leverkusen, that´s at the Rhine between Cologne and Düsseldorf, we vistited the japanese Garden inbetween the Bayer-Area, because there the temperatures a few higher than in Bergisch Land and so the vegetation is a little bit more developed. The japanese Garden there was founded by one of the owners from BAYER in the early 20th Century, who loved the japanese garden architecture and the bonsai very much. And he opened the garden for the public. We saw very lovely early spring flowers, lots of violet and yellow crocus, liverleafs, tulip, iris, bluestars and some more. And even some kois we saw. |
Strunki strunki1259@web.de Posted Apr 1, 2013, 10:46 pm |

This lovely palais de plaisire was built in the 18th century and a lot of people love the park and its surrounding that is near to the rhine. We went from the rhine though the park to the palais. And we had a lot of fun playing on the stone-lions |

Hi Mum
good news: I have an offer to visit Denmark, yipiiee I got the news after our power-yoga hour with our newest balloons, not so easy to balance them between the legs and holding the yoga-lesson I told my friends that i have to leave and although i am very happy to discover new shores, the good bye was not as easy for us all as it seemed to be But we had a last tasty glass of mousse au chocolate together and they gave me a nice farewell-party and a few souvenirs and, of course, chocolates for my journey to Denmark From Matcha i got a map from the Zoom in Gelsenkirchen to remeber, when we both completed one of our life missions each. HelmutBluepant gave me some gum-bears he likes so much, them to share with me was his greatest, he said Aaaand Charlotte, the sweetest plushie-princess she gave me nice small bars of chocolates, my favourites for my journey and the rest for the nice new hosts And we both gave us a deeeeeep view into the eyes of each other, what a pity that she is engaged with Helmut, uuuhhh, she is my hidden fave, hihi So I will go on now from the house with this lovely-crazy crowd of plushies and i will miss and kiss You, perhaps we see us again sometimes? Hello
I arrived to Finland yesterday morning. Today, after sitting an extra day in my envelope, someone finally picked me up and then I was travelling again. Fortunately it wasn't a long journey this time and soon I finally got out of the envelope. Teddy and his friend Janne were there to welcome me. They told me that we're at a cottage in Lieto and Teddy also promised to guide me around the garden tomorrow. While I was talking with Teddy and Janne, a cat showed up. For a moment I thought that she's going to eat me or something scary like that, but it turned out that she was only curious and came to say hi. Greetings from Finland, Soeren |

Hello
It's been very rainy day. I already thought that we can't go outside at all, but then the rain stopped for a moment and out we went. It seems that we are in the middle of nowhere - besides the cottage and its small garden, there's only forest. Soon it started to rain again and we had to run inside before we got drenched. It was raining so much that it made the forest look kinda grey, when I was watching out of the window. Yours, Soeren |

Hello
Today morning I took a look at a local newspaper. I didn't understand the Finnish text, but judging by the picture, the story was something about motorbikes. Soon I got bored with the newspaper and decided that it's time to go to explore a bit more. The garden is partly tended and partly taken over by nature, on purpose. The cat was outside, too. I found a dead butterfly. Poor thing. There are some lingonberries, but I have to wait for them to ripen before I can taste them. There's a lot of lichen, too. The reindeers in Lapland like to eat that. Greetings, Soeren |

Hello
Teddy told me that there are real moose living somewhere in the forest. I got very excited and wanted to see one. I think they're too shy to come near the people here, so I decided to go to look for them. I walked and walked and walked, but there were only forest and fields. I was very disappointed, because I didn't see any real moose. Teddy wanted to cheer me up and soon he got an idea. And guess what, mum? Teddy borrowed motorbikes for us and then we went for a ride. That was so awesome! I had so much fun that I forgot my earlier disappoinment. Yours, Soeren |
jinxed Posted Aug 15, 2013, 4:02 pm |
Hello
Because we had so much fun motorbiking, we wanted to go for another ride, before we had to return the motorbikes. After the ride, I wanted to relax for a while. I enjoyed sunshine, very soft moss and meditation. Later I walked around a bit and found some random things. A broken wasp nest. Three four-leaf clovers. Or actually there were four of them, but I was a bit clumsy and sat on one when I went to pose for the photo. Oops. Despite my little clumsiness, I feel very lucky now. Then I found a yellow chanterelle. And finally I met a real frog. Best wishes, Soeren |

Hello
Another rainy day. We didn't want to go out, so we had to think up something else to do. We didn't want to be bored either. Teddy found old playing cards and we stareted to play. Then we borrowed jinxed's iPad and played Angry Birds Star Wars. It was fun, but we failed many levels and Darth Pig laughed at us a lot. So, we thought that maybe it would be more fun to eat the pigs and birds instead. Later it was getting kinda chilly inside, so my hosts decided that it's time to warm up a little. |

Hello
I had an exciting day. Jinxed woke me up earlier than usually and soon everyone (except the cat) was in the car, driving towards Hämeenlinna. The view from the car was mostly forests and fields with some houses, other farm buildings and cows, sheep and horses scattered here and there. When we arrived to Hämeenlinna, it became clear that we were going to spend a day at Häme Medieval Faire. First we saw Häme castle towering over the area. We bought our tickets and entered Linnanpuisto, the faire area. We arrived at the Tournament Field just in time to watch the horse tournament show by Rohan Stables. The show was awesome and the knights were friendly. At the end of the show the audience was allowed to go to talk to the knights and pat their horses. I wanted to pose for a photo with one of the knights and his horse. Then we walked around the park watching all those booths and tents and of course all those products that were for sale there. There were lots of people. All the merchants and some other people were dressed in medieval clothes. The park itself was beautiful, located at a lake called Vanajavesi. We also took a short break and ate pancakes. The we decided that it's time to see the castle from inside, too, and went for a guided tour. The guide told us about the history of the castle, which is one of Finland's medieval castles. I think it was an interesting tour. Unfortunately photographing inside was challenging at best, which explains the lack of those photos. After a day spent at the Medieval Faire, we returned to the cottage. Greetings, Soeren |

Hello
I'm at jinxed's home in Turku now. Here I met some mice. They wanted to know about my adventures as a toyvoyager and of course I told them stories about where I've been to and what I've seen there. Then they told me about their lives as cat toys. After listening to those stories I'm extremely happy that I'm not a mouse. Teddy wanted to show me one of his favourite spots here. While I was sitting there and talking with Teddy, I noticed an interesting old book. Teddy said that it's ok, if I wanted to take a look at it and so I did. I still don't know enough Finnish to actually read the book, but there are lots of pictures inside, so I just watched those. It seems that the book is about supernatural things like vampires, werewolves and ghosts. A very scary children's book. I wonder if I can sleep tonight... Greetings, Soeren |
jinxed Posted Aug 25, 2013, 5:02 pm |
Hello
Because I've already seen Häme castle, I wanted to see Turku castle, too. It's also a medieval castle, the oldest parts of it are from the 13th century. The castle is a museum now, but its chapel is also a popular place for weddings. First we walked around the castle and entered from the back entrance. Then we walked through the courtyards and exited from the main entrance. We didn't take a tour in the caste, because jinxed had done that only a month or two ago. We walked a bit on the river bank, too, and there we saw two museum ships: Suomen Joutsen (Swan of Finland) and Sigyn. There's also a small ferry called Föri, which transfers people over the river. Greetings, Soeren |

Hello
Circus Finlandia is in town and today we went to see the show. Unfortunately I'm very blurry and shadowy in these photos, but at least I am there. I think I could become a very good acrobat, if I practised a little. What do you think, mum? Greetings, Soeren |
jinxed Posted Aug 28, 2013, 3:00 pm |
Hello
The weather's nice today, but jinxed doesn't have time to go out with us, so Teddy and I have spent most of the day in balcony. First we played Carcassonne. It was fun. Then I told Teddy about the circus and my plan to become an acrobat. Teddy thought that maybe we could be clowns instead, so we went to take funny photos of us. Greetings, Soeren |
jinxed Posted Aug 28, 2013, 3:29 pm |
Hello
I still want to become an acrobat. Now I found a perfect place to spread my yogamat and start practising. Teddy came to watch, although he still thinks that becoming an acrobat isn't very good idea. Maybe that's because he's so clumsy. I probably should teach him some yoga one day. I have to admit that the practising was more exhausting than I thought it would be, but I'm sure that I'll become an excellent acrobat. Maybe I already am one. Greetings, Soeren |

Hello
Today we went to the bus station in Turku because Jinxed wanted to visit a friend, who lives in Lahti, and I wanted to see another Finnish town. Here we are waiting for the bus and then leaving from the station. Before arriving in Lahti, the bus stopped in two another towns - Forssa and Hämeenlinna - and one village - Lammi. The journey took 3 hours and 40 minutes. These photos were taken at the bus station in Forssa and somewhere between Lammi and Lahti. Greetings, Soeren |

Hello
Soon after we had arrived in Lahti, I met Aram and Alexandra. We talked a lot and I told them about my adventures as a ToyVoyager. They were very interested and especially Alexandra was thinking that it would be nice to become a ToyVoyager herself. I wanted to know how the journey from Turku to Lahti looks like on a map. I borrowed jinxed's iPad and then Aram, Alexandra and I studied the map of Finland for a moment. Best wishes, Soeren |
jinxed Posted Sep 10, 2013, 1:12 pm |
Lahti is known as a sports town. One well-known sports event there is Salpausselkä Ski Games that are held usually in the beginning of March and there you can see world cup competitions of ski jumping, nordic combined and cross-country skiing. Today we visited briefly at the sports center.
First we saw a memorial for Finnish war heroes. I'm not exactly sure, why it's in a sports center. There was also a statue of Siiri "Äitee" Rantanen, a famous Finnish cross-country skiier from the 50's. Ski jumping hills. Small and big. The two biggest hills are HS 97 and HS 130. They were renovating the HS 97 hill. There's also a ski museum at the sports center. We didn't go there, but Alexanrda and I wanted to pose with the sign. As we saw on the map, Lahti is located near a lake called Vesijärvi. Alexandra told me that the lake's name in English is Waterlake (vesi = water, järvi = lake). I think it's a silly name. Anyway, there's a beautiful park on the beach and that's where we went. There were many ducks too. Some of them were sleeping and didn't pay any attention to us or other people walking in the park. We saw a fountain statue, too. There's a smaller lake too, called Pikku Vesijärvi and there was a nice fountain. Alexandra said that it's called Vesiurut (water organ). Once a day, in the evening, the fountain lights up and starts playing music. We didn't see the show, because we were there too early for that. Greetings, Soeren |

Hello
It's jinxed's birthday and our last day in Lahti, so we wanted to bake a cheesecake. After studying a book full of cheesecake recipes we decided to bake a New York-Style Cheesecake. When the cake was ready, we got a piece of it, too. It was yummy. Best wishes, Soeren |

Hello
In the morning it was time to say goodbye to Alexandra and Aram. Maybe we'll meet again sometimes, somewhere. Then jinxed and I were on the road again, travelling back to Turku by bus. Take care, Soeren |

Hello
Today we visited Luostarinmäki Handicrafts Museum. It's like a different world, where time has stopped. The buildings are from the late 18th century and the early 19th century. They survived the Great Fire of Turku, which destroyed almost the whole town on 1827, and are still on their original places. Inside those buildings you can see how common people lived and various workshops, where the craftsmen are presenting crafts and skills from the pre-industrial era. It's a very interesring museum and I really enjoyed our tour there. Best wishes, Soeren |

Hello
Today we went to Ruissalo for a walk. Ruissalo is one of the islands that belong to Turku and it's also one of the most beautiful places here. Ruissalo is a protected area and it is also a part of Natura 2000. Almost the whole island is covered by deciduous forest, which isn't very common in Finland. Most of the buildings in Ruissalo are beautiful villas that are built in the change of 19th and 20th century. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of those, because I don't think it's a good idea to go photographing someone's private garden and house. First we went to Saaronniemi. There's a camping area and a nice beach. I wasn't able to pose for as many photos here as I wanted to, because it was very windy and jinxed told me to be careful not to fly away with the wind. There were funny benches made of old tree trunks. I wanted to play for a moment at children's playground. Who could resist a pirate ship? Then we drove to Kansanpuisto and went to walk on a beach promenade. Here you can see a little bit of another island, Hirvensalo. The big ferries that travel between Turku and Stockholm, Sweden go through here, between Ruissalo and Hirvensalo. The passage here seems awfully narrow for such a big ferries. We stumbled upon a little bit of history too. The sign here says: "During the Crimean War the Russian army positioned nine artillery sites along the passages leading to Turku in the spring of 1854." I wondered why there's been Russian artillery in Finland and jinxed told me that Finland was a part of Russia at that time. We saw tree roots sticking out of the ground, when we walked back to Kansanpuisto. There's a nice beach at Kansanpuisto, too. Jinxed told me that it's a part of the area, where Ruisrock - the oldest music festival in Finland - is held once a year. Here you can see the Port of Turku and me pretending to be a Loch Ness Monster. Greetings, Soeren |

Hello
Mum has found a new host for me, so it's time to continue my journey. It's also time to say goodbye. But first I told Teddy how much I have enjoyed my stay in Finland, it's been fun here. I'll miss Teddy, he's a good friend, but maybe we'll meet again sometimes, somewhere. Who knows. It's always a little sad to say goodbye, but I'm still looking forward to new adventures. Mum, when you're reading this, I've already started the journey towards my next destination. Best wishes, Soeren |

Hello Mum,
Great news – I arrived in Sülfeld. At the postoffice I met SunnyHH, he lives here, too. So we went together to my new host. Dicker Kumpel was really surprised when he opened the door. He saw a white little bunny between 4 brown legs. Surely it was me behind SunnyHH. We went onto the blue chair, where all TVs live here in Sülfeld. Well – I am really tall, I think. So I changed my place and we talked in a nicer position. Then I said hello to the other guests here. Freya has wonderful eyes! Love Soeren |
RikeH Posted Oct 9, 2013, 7:55 pm |
Hello Mum,
Today we explored Sülfeld. On this sign I learnt something about an old canal here. Normally you can see water here. I liked this tree with the red berries. I met other animals. They seemed to have a nice life here. There is a small kind of park in Sülfeld. There was a beautiful lake in the park. Later we found this beautiful flower. Behind me you can see the old school. Maybe I will be mayor when I am older? And you can see the emblem of Sülfeld on this sign. This stone was created when the church had its 800th birthday. This is the church. And this is the old pharmacie. At home we played in the garden and found another plant with red berries – well maybe it is the same kind of plant – I am not a gardener. But I know that these are different flowers. This bird has wonderful eyes! Look we found a lot of chestnuts during our walk. It seems to me that it is autumn now. Love Soeren |

Hello Mum,
We went to a nice outdoor museum today. It is called Freilichtmuseum Molfsee. You can see many old buildings here – we started with this nice mill. Look – what a big barn. Some animals were living here – I loved the big pig. Another beautiful house. We went inside. This is a very famous building of the museum because of the entrance. Next to this houses were beautiful flowers. And inside the yard of one big house was a big tree. The old pharmacy was one of the most interesting places here. This was a part of an old dairy farm. What a wonderful museum – and just more to see. This small house... ...belongs to this big house. This was the living room. Behind me you see one of the smallest houses. And I liked this mill with the water wheel. It was a long day in the museum – fortunately we found this great place at the end! Love Soeren |

Hello Mum,
Many greetings from sunny Madeira. This is our holiday house. In front of it there is this nice small palm tree. And this is the best place of the house. Can you see the Cruise Ship behind me? This is the Atlantic Ocean – what a nice view! Love Soeren |
RikeH Posted Oct 22, 2013, 5:41 pm |
Hello Mum,
Today we walked through a part of Funchal called Lido. There seems to be a lot of wind over the years. Look at this palm tree. And I liked this big rock in the ocean. Then we went into a nice garden with beautiful and big flowers. This is a dragon tree - this is funny, because our holiday house is called Villa Dragoeiro – that’s the Portuguese name for it. Yours Soeren |
RikeH Posted Oct 28, 2013, 9:09 am |
Hello Mum,
It was time to see more from the Island – and we decided to drive to the Eastern Part of Madeira. On our way we stopped at a nice lookout and had this view. We wanted to hike at this place – but just before our arrival a big rain started. These paths didn’t look great so we decided to hang around and maybe come back next week. But we were happy – many other hikers started earlier and really got soaked! I loved the small men out of stone here. The view from the other side of the parking lot was nice, too. Well – we started our trip back home and stopped at another great viewpoint. It was only 10 minutes after the other photo – and look at the sky! What a wonderful place! Yours Soeren |
RikeH Posted Oct 29, 2013, 4:25 pm |
Hi Mum,
We drove to the Western Part of the Island and passed a high plateau. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that good and we drove through the clouds… Then we reached the town called Porto Moniz. The weather looked much nicer here. This was funny – a natural swimming pool in the rocks. The ocean looked wild here. We went nearer to the big rock in the ocean. It was amazing. Later we drove to the most Western Point of Madeira. There is a beautiful small lighthouse. We had a great view over the high cliffs there. Madeira is a wonderful place. Our last stop was next to a small harbor. Yours Soeren |

Hello Mum,
It was time for some sports today. I started on this ergometer. Then I tried this machine, but it was not easy alone, so Pepita helped me, Then I trained my abdominals. Well – I tried some weightlifting, but it was too heavy for me. So we only posed for a group photo. Later I trained my balance. Dicker Kumpel helped me. Then we all balanced on the big ball. It was fun! Soeren |

I went through the garden and found new beautiful flowers. This yellow bloom was so nice. It is great to see so many blooming plants in October. Love Soeren |

Hello Mum,
Can you see me? Here I am – I belong to this piece of art. I went to the Monte Palace Tropical Garden today. We saw a lot of plants, flowers and more there. Here you can see me inside a hollow trunk of a palm tree. It was like a garden in Asia here. This is the palace of the garden. I loved this place – a big lake with waterfalls and more. At the end of our walk I met this friendly dragon. Yours Soeren |

Hello Mum,
Let’s start with the view from our balcony – great! Today we visited a town called Aveiro, it looked a little like Venice, I think. They had really beautiful houses there. Unfortunately the weather wasn’t that nice this day, so we went to our hotel early in the afternoon. Love Soeren |
RikeH Posted Nov 9, 2013, 5:24 pm |
Happy Birthday, dear Rike!
We started our day with a wonderful Birthday Song for RikeH. Then we drove to a nice small town called Guimaraes. There we started our tour with this beautiful castle. It was like an old fortress! What a beautiful building! Then we went into another nice Castle –unfortunately RikeH forgot to take a photo with me outside of it – so here you can see it with me inside of it… There were wonderful big rooms. Some arms for knights! I would have loved to have dinner here! This was the church or maybe only a chapel. We left the Castle and walked through the old city. A really nice place! Yours Soeren |
RikeH Posted Nov 12, 2013, 10:28 am |
Hello Mum,
After leaving Guimaraes we went to a town called Brawa. It seemed to be the town of churches… The last stop there was a place called Bom Jesus. There was a wonderful garden. And this is the big church there on the mountain… …with some stairs down. But should we go down there? Maybe this view is nice enough? No, we walked down all the stairs – and had this great view! Love Soeren |

Hello Mum,
Today we explored the city of Lisboa. I started with the Jerónimos Monastery – a beautiful building. Behind me you can see the Monument to the Discoveries. Next to it there was a small harbor. I really liked the Belém Tower. We took a trip with yellow hop-on-hop-of-buses and I had a great view from it. This small tower with an elevator inside was really funny! Later we spent some time on a nice place with wonderful buildings around and a nice fountain on it. I had a great time in Portugal. Before we leave I want to show you my nice room here! This was the place I really liked – on the big couch together with my friends. But then we found this place – with a great view out of the window. Soon we will fly back to Germany. Yours Soeren |

Hello Mum,
I went to Hamburg today and went to the Binnenalster. This is another nice place called Alsterarkaden From this place I saw the City Hall. I went to the City Hall. It is nice inside. This is the beautiful courtyard of the City Hall. Soon the Christmas Market will start here. Yours Soeren |
RikeH Posted Nov 28, 2013, 7:42 pm |
Hello Mum,
I am coming home! But first I wanted to visit the Christmas Markets in Hamburg. We went to Hamburg by train – and arrived in the main station. Dicker Kumpel told me that there is always a beautiful big ball in it – from Hamburg. I couldn’t imagine what it would be like, but now I know it. This is one of the Christmas Markets – a white one – but I didn’t like it so much. This was funny – a small Michel – it is one of the town’s landmark. Then we went to the big Christmas Market in front of the town hall. I wanted to buy toys here, but unfortunately I had forgotten my pocket money. Look –what a funny guy. Believe it or not – I saw Santa’s reindeers and his sleigh. It was nice on the Christmas Market, but Dicker Kumpel told me that it would be nicer in the evening, so we went to another Christmas Market later that day. What a wonderful big Christmas tree. And I loved this Christmas Pyramid. I started my trip in Hamburg in the main station – and now I finished it here with these wonderful lights. Back home I said goodbye to Dicker Kumpel – I cannot believe that we won’t see us again. But he told me that I am welcome to come back again. Then I talked to SunnyHH. We became very close friends here – so I invited him to come with me. A wonderful idea. All my friends gave me a big hug. Until soon! Love Soeren |

Hello mum,
today I arrived at Murph’s home. I showed Murph, Sean and TobiHH my gifts. It was very cold and windy, but we wanted to leave the house. We went to Seesen. It is a city with many windows. You can see the famous places of the city when you look through the windows. We saw the Castle Sehusa through the first window. Then we met this nice guy. It is Wilhelm Busch – he wrote many famous stories. All over the city you meet these funny boys. Their names are Max and Moritz. Through this window you see an old courtyard. Here you see the church of Seesen. This house was so beautiful! Look – Max and Moritz from the back side. This museum was really beautiful, wasn’t it? Seesen is a really beautiful city. Until soon Soeren |

Hello Mum,
Today we went to a small wildlife park. A beautiful lake with many storks… Many animals – like these funny guys - didn’t want to stay outside, because it was too cold. These alpacas had enough wool – so it wasn’t cold for them. These small guinea pigs found a cozy place under the warm lamp. A funny train. I love these kangaroos. Why is this old digger here? Maybe children love playing with it…. Eventually we had sunshine… My friend RikeH would have loved it here – so many budgies… … these guys were really lazy… Our last photo for today. We wish you all merry Christmas! Love Soeren |

We all got great things! Then we went to the Christmas Crib - the child was born! I loved the Christmas tree! Look – these guys were so funny! I loved the tree so much that I decided to put my bell onto it. I am sure that RikeH will love it. Then it was time to say goodbye. Murph, Sean and I will go on a holiday with HoBi. We had a big TV-hug! Love Soeren |

Hello mum,
It was our first day at the Baltic Sea. This is a typical photo for the North A lot of small houses directly next to the water. Beautiful, isn’t it`? On our way to the town we found this lantern. The town hall of Neustadt… I absolutely wanted to have a photo with these fishermen. Two famous building of Neustadt: the town gate and the Pagodenspeicher. There were many sailing ships in the harbor. Upps, it got dark, we had to go back home… Neustadt is a beautiful small town, but I want to go to the Baltic Sea tomorrow Yours Soeren |

Hello mum,
What a beautiful weather! It was windy and cold, but the sun was shining. The pier of Dahme Such a beautiful beach Another pier Unfortunately you cannot recognize the birds on this photo. Cormorants – I never saw them before! We enjoyed the sunshine. This was the only lighthouse we found. Can you see the kites? They belong to kite surfer. Would this be fun? I think it would be very cold, when you fall into the water. Everywhere at the beach we found sallow thorn. Really beautiful! Over this beautiful boardwalk we went back home The wind was really cold. It was time for the fireplace … Until soon Soeren |

Hello mum,
today we took a trip to an island. Do you know this bridge? First we went to Puttgarden. We were lucky, because we saw a very big ferry near to us. Then we drove to the beach. There was a monument on the beach. It should remember us of the sinking of a ship. The life is wonderful on the beach in the sunshine… We found this great harbor on our way back. Unfortunately there were no ships because it was winter. What a wonderful day on this beautiful island! Greetings Soeren |

Hello mum,
Today we visited the castlegarden of Eutin. There was a small pavilion next to the lake. In the park was this small waterfall. Beautiful, isn’t it? A small sacrificial altar. The servants lived in this beautiful house in the past. Over this Chinese bridge we walked to the next pavilion. What a beautiful Lady… The castle had many beautiful buildings. But we loved most this funny guy. Yours Soeren |
HoBi Posted Jan 13, 2014, 4:53 pm |
Hello mum,
Our second stop was Plön. There is a big lake in Plön. And a castle of course. I would love to live in this house. Can we please buy it? Oops, it got dark; we had to drive home… Today it is New Year’s Eve. We wanted to have a party! Murph spent a Killepitzsch. Wow, yummy! What a wonderful evening! It was time for the fireworks. Maybe a little late, but I wish you all a happy New Year Soeren |

Hello mum,
Today we took a long walk along a high bank. We enjoyed the sunshine at the beach The high bank is 20 Meter high… All over the beach there were trees. They slid down from the bank. Mum, could we spend a holiday here? I love these houses… It was another beautiful day at the Baltic Sea. Until soon Soeren |
HoBi Posted Jan 17, 2014, 3:27 pm |
Hello mum,
It was our last day at the Baltic Sea and the weather was awful . It rained. My first stop was on the highest mountain from Schleswig-Holstein… A ski-lift on a mountain with a high of 168 meters?... I never saw something like this before… Later we went to the sea again. There were waves today. A small ice rink… I would have loved to play on the ice, but Bine was afraid that someone would overrun me. The weather really wasn’t nice. Unfortunately our holiday is over now. Tomorrow we have to drive home… Yours Soeren |

Hello mum,
Today we went into the forest. Murph wanted to show us mushrooms that are growing in the winter. Are there really mushrooms? Actually there were some – they are called smoky gilled woodlover - and they are eatable! You know these mushrooms! You often find them in Chinese food. This is a typical mushroom that only grows in the winter time – the velvet food. The forest looked great! Murph watched out for his famous mushrooms. Wow, there they were! Weren’t they beautiful? They are called scarlet elf cup… Also in the wintertime the forest is fascinating. Even a small flower bloomed yet. Greetings Soeren |
HoBi Posted Jan 29, 2014, 4:57 pm |
Hello mum,
today we visited the Park of the Abbey Lamspringe . The Lamme starts here. What a beautiful pond! This sculpture is so funny. Unfortunately the water wheel didn’t work in the winter time. This is the church of the abbey. Really big! Criminals got this ring around their neck in the past – and were in the pillory. What a wonderful park! Many greetings Soeren |
HoBi Posted Feb 5, 2014, 5:12 pm |
Hello mum,
last week we found this mushroom. A sensation! The morel grew much too early. How will it look like today? A morel in the snow – this is funny. You won’t see this often in your life. The winter arrived after all. Can this be right? What do you think? Snow is really beautiful… …and wet… At home we found a cozy hot place, because we had to dry. Until soon Soeren |

Hello mum,
today I took a look at the hometown of Murph. Bad Salzdetfurth is an old miningtown. And you find memories of this time everywhere. This is the train station of Bad Salzdetfurth. I have no idea why it is called Kulturbahnhof. There are many half-timbered houses in Bad Salzdetfurth. The Lamme flew through the whole city. There are 2 big salines in the spa gardens. The people used it to produce salt in the past. This is the famous place of Murph. It is called Summstein – you sit inside of it and bumble. Then the whole body prickles. Very funny! Greetings Soeren |

Hello mum,
today a new guest arrived. It was Jasper, a moose from Switzerland. We took a long walk in this forest. There were great mushrooms in the forest. I already show it to you. Now I wanted to look, if they grew in the last days. Wow, how beautiful. Did I tell you that I love these mushrooms? This lake was frozen. But we found the spring at a lot of places. The wild arum started to grow. The Black elder already got leaves. And the snowdrops were blooming. A wonderful day in the forest. Until soon Soeren |

Hello mum,
today I went to a beautiful park. On our way to the park we found this gate. I loved the color. ... and this fountain. Behind me you can see the castle. There is a small pavilion in the park. Some pussy willows… Let’s see, what more we can find here. These old bonnets look funny, don’t they? These old tomb slabs are impressive. A sprig of mistletoe on the ground Wow, what a beautiful park! Yours Soeren |

Hello mum,
we had to take a trip because of the wonderful sunshine. First I found these winter aconites. Unfortunately you cannot read this sign, it explains a special forest – the „Hutewald“. There are many very old oaks. Cows are grazing here 1-2 times a year, because the oaks need enough light for growing. Unfortunately the cows were not here today. This was a small part of the „Wohldenberg“ Castle. On this photo you can see how big it was in the past. We found many snowdrops in the garden. From this look-out you can see the Harz Mountains, but it was closed in the winter. The Castle stood on wonderful rocks. And the trees grow directly on the rocks, too. The roots look great, don’t they? Of course you don’t have a walk with Murph without a mushroom. This one is very rare – and looks like a mosaic. It was great to sit in the sunshine! Until soon Soeren |

Hello mum,
today we went to a holy spring. Many people take water from it. It should help against sicknesses. This was the main spring. The water was so bright! Here you see 2 other springs – coming directly out of the hill. There was a small altar next to the spring. People sacrifices things here, and hope that the spring never stops. Then we went into the forest to search the spring. And we found some flowers. This was amazing! But look: sweet violets A spring snowflake The orchids didn't bloom yet. Another flower: daphne mezereum Wow - the bear's garlic is really tall. We can go and collect it in 2 weeks. Greetings Soeren |
HoBi Posted Mar 20, 2014, 5:10 pm |
Hello mum,
we visited a ruin today. The walls of the gate were very thick. This catapult was really huge. We had a great view from the wall. It was the garden of the castle. You won’t believe. The people had a heating in the past. The thing with the holes was the heating. This was exciting. Stones like these hold the drawbridge. There was a nice view from the tower over the ruin. Yours Soeren |

Hello mum,
Today we had beautiful weather. We walked around a big lake. There is the possibility for water skiing here. But there were no people here today – maybe the water was too cold. There were sculptures everywhere around the lake – should this be art? I really liked these small flowers! I have no idea, what this should be. Maybe it was a work art, too? There was a long sandy beach at the lake. Really great – just like the sea! A wonderful day in the sunshine! Best wishes Soeren |
HoBi Posted Mar 27, 2014, 5:32 pm |
Hello mum,
Another day with wonderful sunshine. These mountains were our call – they are called „Adam and Eva“. Let’s go! We have to go up there – this is really steep! This will be exhausting! When we arrived at the top it was time for a rest. Isn’t it beautiful? Look, there were the rocks. It won’t be too far now. Finally we arrived. These are „Adam and Eva“. On our way back we found bear’s garlic. It was already big – maybe we can collect it next week-end. Until soon Soeren |

Hello mum,
The weather was so beautiful. So let’s go onto the balcony and enjoy the sunshine. What is this? Freya sat on the balcony and waited for us. She flew all the way from Berlin to us. We sat together immediately – and had to talk a lot. Yours Soeren |

Hello mum,
we went into the forest again. There were flowers everywhere – all were blooming! Great! Beautiful cowslips Sweet violets The orchids didn't bloom yet. Another flower: wood anemones We wanted to collect bear’s garlic. We took our basket. What a wonderful view – bear's garlic – as far as you can see. Where should we start? Here! Murph cut the bear's garlic and put it into the basket. Our basket was full. This is the bear's garlic paradise!!! Until soon Soeren |

Hello mum,
today was the last day for me here. We absolutely wanted to enjoy the sunshine. A beautiful forest. Everywhere were blooming flowers. Didn’t it look nice? A beaver gnew at this tree – this is really rare here. A flower with green blossoms: the green hellebore At the end we found a mushroom: Bleach cups. It smells like chlorine. At home I had to say goodbye to Murph and my friends. We had a great time together, but now it is time to go home. Mum, I’m coming… Soeren |

Then we went into the garden for searching chocolate eggs and bunnies mum had hidden for us We searched and searched and found many eggs Look! And then HelmutBluepant had to search his birthday present we had hidden in the garden. He searched and searched and we said "warmer" or "colder" and after a loooong time he found it on a tree! We all helped him climbing up and then he transported it down very carefully. He was very pleased with our present: an outdoor microscope! HAPPY EASTER!!! Yours Soeren |

Hi mom,
I'm actually arrived yesterday. But Jasper was on a weekend trip. Tonight I was liberated. (I did yoga to stay calm.) Curious faces stared into my jacket and when I climbed out, a hairy monster sniffed at me. My joy was great when I saw a familiar face - Stoker, old friend, good to see you! I greeted everyone on my restrained manner and presented my gifts. Yeah, I like it here. Bye for now Soeren |
Jasper Posted May 6, 2014, 3:42 pm |
Dear mommy,
Monday, sunshine and Jasper has to work. But not today! Sometimes overtime is very useful ;-)) Opened the big pocket, wrapped all TV's and camera - and off we went. Jasper wanted to show us the Thur Waterfalls ( Thurwasserfälle ). Small - but fine. The Thur waterfalls are two cascades. The water cascades down from steep rock faces, and on highest point drops from 23 meters (75 ft) A short drive by car and right into flowering meadows. Here the Thur is still very small. And it is getting smaller. I found beautiful flowers. Forget -me-not ! Paris - this must be a sign. We hiked into a small ravine. First, we wanted to see everything from above. This is the big fall. And closer to the water! About stairways and corridors in the rock we climbed up and down again. ( Sorry - it was too dark to photograph ) Bridges, walkways and narrow paths took us deeper into the canyon. This is the small fall. On the way back, I tested my skills as a mountaineer. Not like a capricorn but not bad. We rested on a bench, and rejoiced in the sun. The Santis is still deep in snow. We enjoyed this afternoon to the fullest. Soeren |

Hello mom,
Today I tried to cook a meal scandinavian. Meatballs and mashed potatoes and cucumber salad. And cinnamon rolls for coffee. I started with the dough for the cinnamon rolls. After reading the recipe, I familiarized myself with the food processor. Jasper was a bit skeptical but then everything went without a hitch. Next, I prepared the cucumber salad. Peel the cucumber, chop dill, prepare dressing. Cucumber slice - mix everything - done. Now the meatballs : Peel onion, cut into small pieces and fry. Mix ground beef, soaked bread, onions and spices. Looks a bit - hmm - interesting. Looks even better. In the meantime, the dough had risen and I was able to roll it out. Spread melted butter on it - sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon and roll. Cut into pieces and place on a baking sheet. Let rise again. Then "paint" with egg spread with sugar and bake until golden brown. Yummy! Then I formed the meatballs and fried them. Jasper made in the meantime the mashed potatoes and the sauce. My time was a little short and all were hungry. The result of my cooking adventure was very tasty. Greetings from your "Cookingchief" Soeren |

Hello at home
on Saturday we were a little surprised when Jasper took the boots out of the wardrobe. And the warm jacket. Okay, the last few days the weather was lousy and cold it was (5 degrees in the morning) But Jasper looked like winter. What the hell, I got into her bag and we went on our way. Half an hour later, the clothing became clear. Snow. We found a few places where the Spring defied the winter. The summit of Santis could not be seen - too many clouds. But the cable car. We took a circular route in the Nature Discovery Park. Cold feet? We help you! Mountaineering - even for beginners. We discovered an anthill. Partially destroyed by falling snow. But the ants are busy on the rebuild. At the end, we were wet and chilled to the bone but we had a lot of fun. Bye for now Soeren |

Hello,
on Sunday we made a trip to Wil, a small town nearby. We strolled in beautiful weather through the narrow streets and admired the beautiful old houses. This is the portal of the St. Nicholas Church. This is the "Hof zu Wil", the landmark of the city. For over 500 years, the St. Gallen prince abbots resided in Hof zu Wil. By the old city gate we came to the "Weiherwiese". There was the "Spectacle", a medieval festival. First we smelled specialties - no time to eat, there was so much to see. Archers. Knights on horseback. The noble Lord of Lichtenfels was the winner. Then we watched how knights and "ordinary people" were living. (look at the background ;-))) A nice view of the old town of Wil. We could not decide: which sight is more beautiful. The lady who sells ocarinas - ui, ui (sorry Paris, i'm just a man) or? On the way home we had a magnificent view of the Churfirsten - our local mountains. Home surprised us Jasper with souvenirs she bought in secret. Small leather bag for our treasures. We had a wonderful weekend - I hope you also. with love Soeren |

Hello mom,
today I went with Jasper to Agricultural Cooperative to buy plants for the balcony. Because of the beautiful weather, many people had the same idea. So I had to wait in the car. Aha, a lot of green stuff. At home we dragged everything into the THIRD floor. Two bags of potting soil and no lift! I was floored. Then I was allowed to help with the planting. I dug holes, put in the plants and stomped everything. Done. After the hard work I wanted a little snuggling with the big cat. She and I did not agree how this should happen. That's it for today - see you soon. Soeren |

Hello
when I woke up yesterday morning - after a very good sleep - I felt happy. I did not know why - the weather was bad as ever in the last few days but I was happy. Then Cherry Lola came and blindfolded me. She grabbed me in the trolley and drove me to the others. I was put in a chair and Stoker took the blindfold off me. All hugged me and wished " HAPPY BIRTHDAY ". Yes that's is - it's my birthday. I was given a gift. Quick unpack ! A light blue scarf. It fits me, I love it. Then there was cake. Later, Jasper donated something to drink. The fun was still larger, we slightly louder. Stoker was dancing on the table and Twixx tipped off the chair. We had a great party. Jasper gave me a gold coin. Hick, nothing special hick, they give here all the time hick. Then I know nothing more. Jasper told me this morning - she drove me to bed. I sang moose songs - terribly noisy and terribly wrong. What a day. Love you mom Soeren P. S. Paris my love, saw your congratulations this morning - thank you very, very much. I miss you. |

Hi Mom
guess where I am. On Lake Geneva in: We walked along the waterfront and discovered the statue of Freddy Mercury, the great singer of the rock band Queen. The group Queen worked for many years in Montreux and owned since 1979, the Montreux Mountain Recording Studio, which was housed in the newly established casino since 1975. The casino fire on December 4, 1971 inspired the group Deep Purple to her worldwide hit "Smoke on the Water". "No matter what we get out of this, I know we will never forget. Smoke on the water, fire in the sky. " This song tells the story of the casino fire of 1971, when during a concert by Frank Zappa the casino completely burned down. Here you can see one of the major hotels. Many famous people were guests here. Tchaikovsky, Leo Tolstoi and Empress Elisabeth of Austria (Sissi) On the other side of the lake is France. Climbing a tree. A war memorial. Something for art lovers. This is the monument of Sissi. Also very nice. Another hotel with a fountain in the park. We walked further along the lake and saw in the distance the Castle of Chillon. Chillon is listed as "Switzerland's most visited historic monument" and of course we had to visit it. An imposing building with many impressive rooms. From the tower we had a beautiful view. Then we walked back to Montreux, saw a church and statues of famous musicians. Last views of the Lake Geneva before travelling home. Hope you like the pictures. Love Soeren |

Hi mommy,
Today we visited the Market Hall Altenrhein. It is built upon the idea and the concept of Friedensreich Hundertwasser. I like this kind of building. Nothing is straight but everything colorful. Golden onion domes and grass on the roof. Even the pedestrian strip is bent. So funny. Nearby we saw this creepy animal. Greetings from an impressed moose Soeren |

Hi mommy,
Today I cooked dinner: Parsley potatoes, fish and prawns with dill sauce and salad. First I cooked the potatoes. Chopped dill, Sliced vegetables and grated carrots. Then I cooked the fish. Done. With a glass of white wine we had a lovely dinner. Jasper thinks I'm a chaotic cook. Do you know why? Then I did the dishes. Pff, I had earned one last glass. Love Soeren |

Dear Mum, dear Paris,
on sunday the weather was so nice that we took the chance to spent some time outside. And went for a walk along the river Main in the city of Frankfurt. We started at the east harbor. Here you see the brand new building of the European Central Bank (from all different kind of angles). It has its grand opening in the upcoming March. We crossed the river on a bridge right next to some railroad tracks On the way back we took a differed bridge. It looks like the architect wants to win a designer prize. Sending you hugs and kisses. |

Hello there,
last weekend hostmum took me on a little trip. After a two hour drive we arrived at the Odyseum museum in the city of Cologne to see the Harry Potter exhibition. While waiting to get in Dolores Umbridge (in the pink dress) came by and asked people for their homework And then we finally could go inside These are all original items from the Harry Potter Movies. What we did after that I will tell you in an other update. XOXO Soeren |

-- Cologne Part 2 --
Right next door to the Harry Potter exhibition is another museum. So we went there to see the adventure earth. In the first "room" was a Forest/ jungle Next we flew to outer space. And of course once you are in cologne you have to go and see the most famous sight of the city: the cathedral What a nice day. |

Hey Mama, Hi Paris my Love,
Sunday a week ago we had a very nice spring day around here. We took the chance to spent it outside and drove to a small town called Steinau an der Straße. This town is a part of the German fairytale route. Because the brothers Grimm lived here There is a very nice historic district and a pretty big castle And there are are fairytale figures and symbols all over town. The frog King: Hansel and Gretel: Snow White Not sure what fairytale this is: A very colorful house: Sending you hugs and kisses Sören |
Susie's Posted Mar 18, 2015, 4:40 pm |
Last saturday we spent the day in Cologne again.
In the early morning I crawled into hostmums purse This time we took the train Once there we just saw the cathedral from the distance And rushed to our destination. This store: Hostmums heaven. She loves Postcards. And all the people in the background are postcard fanatics too. They know each other from postcrossing.com After shopping (and spending tons of money) we (all together) went to a bar and signed each others postcards. This stack is just a very small amount of the cards: We really had a fun day. |

There are all kinds of rides and everything is colorful illuminated at night. But hostmum is scared of all of these rollercoasters. So we just munched our way through this fair. Starting with a hotdog Than we had a drink Super yummy ice cream Nope, not for us. Way to high This one even goes upside down A game to play garlic bread another spooky ride And last but not least some yummy chocolate strawberries |
