Edna Posted Aug 16, 2012, 8:17 pm	Hi! Today we  are going to visit the "M´era Luna Festival" in Hildesheim. I have Djali on my side. I´m happy about that because the people here are looking strange... But they are all very nice. Mommy visits this festival every year since 9 years. Before we started we had a tasty breakfast. Then we went by car for 3 hours. After pitching our tent... ...I needed a break. Next day we had bacon and eggs for breakfast. *Yummy* There was so great music and we had much fun this 4 days, it was great! Best wishes, Mister Spike

zauberaeffle Posted Aug 20, 2012, 1:05 pm	Hello mom, today I arrived in Karlsruhe. It's pretty hot here. In my envelope I felt like in a sauna. I gave my host-mom the card, which you switched in the envelope. She was very happy about it. Then I took a bath to cool down in the dwarf fountain. I asked my host-mom where the other TVs are. She said that I am the only TV at the moment here. Anton has left on Saturday to Minnesota and Sausi Karl to Finland. Too bad, I'd like some played with those. But soon would Viola come to visit. Since I'm curious ... I feel the journey in the envelope rather limp. After I examined the aquarium and had welcomed the two rabbits I climbed into my basket. Now I sleep once and recover. I showed her everything here and after that I talk to her on the balcony. Then I showed her my sleeping place. She was exhausted from the long journey and has to be equal to me. We do nothing today. It's too hot. Tomorrow we may go into the city center in Karlsruhe. Let's see what I see there. Much love Mr. Spike
zauberaeffle Posted Aug 24, 2012, 5:09 pm	Hi Mom, today Viola and I wanted to go with my host mum to the Rhine. Where we wanted to go, it is very beautiful, as you can see a lot of ships and also has a view of the harbor in Karlsruhe. Unfortunately the weather has taken a spanner in the works. Just as we drove away there was a thunderstorm and it rained heavily. We went to the video store to rent a movie for tonight. I would rather a thriller Viola wanted something fun. We took both. In addition to the video library, the fire station. I would love to have looked at the car, but it did not stop raining. Then we went to visit the parents of my host-mom. Unfortunately we could not play in the garden because it was still raining. Since it did not stop with rain, then we went home. My host mum told me that we will make up the trip in any case. zauberaeffle Posted Aug 26, 2012, 2:13 pm	Hello mom, I am a little sad .... The weather here in Karlsruhe is very bad ...  My host mom would love to do something with us. But with constant rain, we can not go outside. Therefore, we (Viola and the stay-at-home TV Bär Schär) played today together first poker, than man-parchesi not and ultimately Cluedo. That was fun! Although I think that Bär Schär cheated at poker. My host mom told me that Bär Schär's been for 33 years with her and her favorite stuffed animal. Therefore must Bär Schär not go away, because host-mom would be very sad if he does not return. When he get an ID, he will be online at Toyvoyagers. We looked out the window, and tried with our eyes to change the weather ... It did not work. We helped host-mom to cook. We were cooking roast beef for evening... mmh, it smells so good that I would love to bite in. Now we'll first take a nap and hope that the weather improves. Bär Schär allowed us to sleep with him in his bed. Love Mr. Spike
zauberaeffle Posted Aug 29, 2012, 7:44 pm	Hello Mum, Today we (Viola, my host mum and I) did a great trip. We were in the castle Favorite near Rastatt. It's so beautiful there. Unfortunately no photos were allowed in the castle are made. In one room, but we were allowed to take pictures. Since the kitchen was issued, as it looked before. The castle was built from 1710 to 1730. Building owner was Margravine Sibylla Augusta of Baden. Next to the residence in Rastatt, it should serve as a summer residence in the country the princely pleasures, socializing and playing, hunting, masquerades, and studies of child-rearing. Favorite Castle is the oldest German porcelain palace and receive only one in the original form remains. We have set ourselves on a park bench and let us all work towards. It's really beautiful. zauberaeffle Posted Sep 2, 2012, 4:51 pm	Hello mum, Today we made a walk in Karlsruhe. The weather was not the best, but at least it was not raining. I learned from my host mum lot about Karlsruhe. The city was founded in 1715 as the Baroque plan with sun-or radiating outgoing roads from the castle developed initially in a southerly direction. Because of the resulting fan-shaped floor plan carries Karlsruhe has the nickname Fächerstadt. At the MarketplaceKarlsruhe  is a pyramid. Under the pyramid is the crypt in 1807 demolished Konkordienkirche in which the founder and namesake of the city, Margrave Karl Wilhelm of Baden-Durlach (1679-1738) is buried. We have seen today the castle, the castle garden, the marketplace and the Frederick area with natural history museum. Karlsruhe is a beautiful city, although currently many construction sites because of the U-Strab are. Many Love Mr. Spike
zauberaeffle Posted Sep 4, 2012, 1:54 pm	Hello mum, Monday afternoon, we (Viola and I) went for fishing in the Rhine harbor. Yesterday evening, host mum did not have the time to write an update. The father of my host mum came along as host-mum does not have a fishing license. While I was more interested in the harbor, Viola found a lot of wild flowers in pink. I have seen many big ships. It was very intersting for me. We enjoyed the view and looked at the many ships sailing past us. The father of host-mum allowed us to keep the hinge. I sat in the middle of the hinge. From there I had the best view.  Because Viola is so small and did not see anything, she climbed up to the top. Finally we end it with a beautiful sunset in the evening. Only a small goby that we left behind in the water, we caught. Lots of Love, Mister Spike Tonight we will still go to a party. The dad of host-mum will celebrate his birthday
zauberaeffle Posted Sep 9, 2012, 11:53 am	Hello mum, On 04.09.2012 the father of host-mum had birthday. In the evening we went to eat. Hmm, was that good! I ate so much that I could not move anymore. Today we (Viola, host-mum and I) went to Muggensturm. It is only 15 minutes by car from Karlsruhe. There's a petting zoo. I have seen many different animals. Ranging from goats, sheep, oxen, geese, ducks, horses, donkeys .... I liked it really well. Especially because the weather was beautiful. Greetings Mister Spike

Pettersson brought postcards and sweets. Furthermore, we all very happy. After Pettersson had recovered from his journey we have (TV host Bär Schär, Viola and I) put together something and entertain Unfortunately, I will soon travel further. zauberaeffle Posted Sep 13, 2012, 7:28 pm	Hello mum, Today was a nice surprise in the mail from host-mum. Sausi Karl, who is currently in Finland at mmm105, wrote a postcard. In addition to host-mum and Bär Schär are very happy. Earlier today, we went for a walk (Bär Schär, Pettersson, Viola, host-mum and I) in the forest. It was pretty chilly, not as warm as the last few days. Then we walked to the Saumseen. These are seven lakes located in the deep shores of Karlsruhe. The Saumseen is a nature reserve. It was really nice to sit on the bench and watching the ducks in the water. Greetings Mister Spike
zauberaeffle Posted Sep 16, 2012, 10:22 pm	Hello mum, Today it was time that I decorate my envelope and label. Bär Schär, Pettersson and Viola helped me. I'm really sad. I would not go away. Bär Schär and the other TV Viola and Pettersson are so nice to me. In the short time I have gained real friends. Viola is also just like to decorate their envelope. She will also leave tomorrow. I'm looking forward to my time in Vienna, but here it is beautiful .... As a parting gift Bär Schär has made a Hall of Fame star for me. That made me really happy. Djali Posted Sep 22, 2012, 9:59 am	Hey Mum! Yesterday I arrived in Vienna! My first journey to another country went well and I'm already really excited to see Vienna!  And as everyone else I had to undergo the inspection by the curious cat. As you can see in her face: she doesn't like dogs! Maybe I was barking too loud?!?  This morning I got to sit in many different cups and mugs - I had a hard time choosing the best ones! I hope that Madam Miff is not too jealous of me and I hope she likes the pictures! My host-mum loves tea and she likes to bring a nice mug back from her holidays. This one is from Sweden: And one from London: Well, I couln't make my mind up in which of these ones I wanted to sit - so I choose both  They are from Berlin. See you soon, mummy! Mr. Spike
Djali Posted Sep 23, 2012, 12:53 pm	Hello again!  This morning I made a walk trough the park of Schönbrunn palace with my host-mum. We wanted to find some chestnuts for her autumn decoration. I really like the palace! It's so big and beautiful!  In the park, Djali allowed me to climb this rather funny looking tree: We then went on to see the large Neptune Fountain which stands opposite of the palce. From up there you have a great view! Back at home, we decorated a small plate with all the chestnuts we found. It was quite fun playing around with them!  Bye!

Most of the day I had to stay in her bag because she had a lot of work to do, but in the afternoon there was a little more time. Look mummy! I helped Djali to sort all of these papers! It's quite a huge pile!  If the weather is fine, we will take part in the Vienna Photo-Marathon tomorrow. So let's cross fingers that the sun is shining tomorrow! Bye bye Mister Spike
Djali Posted Sep 29, 2012, 8:49 pm	Hello mummy! Today was a great day!  Djali and some friends of her took part in the Vienna photo marathon! It was really fun, but now we are all very tired. It's quite a nice idea: you've got 12 hours time to take 24 pictures of given themes or places. You have to take the pictures in the right order of the themes and you are only allowed to submit 1 picutre per theme. So you have to come up with many good ideas for pictures and find good places to take them. We had sooo much fun!  The mascots of Djali's friend (who took the pictures for the contest) were origami butterflies - so sadly I won't be on any of the pictures enterd in the contest. We started at 9 a.m. with our list of themes and a nice breakfast: On the way I found you a nice daisy and some delicous looking red berries on a tree: One of the themes was for exemple "wood/wooden" - so we took pictures of this nice old floor in the inner city: Another theme was "bridges": And another shot of me with the beautiful butterflies!  Good night, mummy! Djali Posted Oct 13, 2012, 12:27 pm	Yesterday, my host-mum had a day off from work. But sadly the weather was really terrible with a lot of rain and wind - so we had to stay home... Djali decided to use the day to do some of her housekeeping duties and I've been nice and helped her  Quite a lot of work to do as you see: washing clothes, ironing and vacuuming the floor *puh* If the weather is fine this weeking, I'll get to see some more of Vienna! We took a trip to Michigan, with Chloe’s cousin Jillienne and her awesome TV’s! It was so much fun. It was a nice trip up to Michigan driving through Wisconsin and parts of Michigan. =) Ready….Set….Let’s go!! Nap Time!! This was a long boring road so we decided to try to take a nap….. Bullseye, Juulia, Mr. Scrapes , ME, Miche, Kitsune and Hop loved taking pictures in the car! Next is Sauna night and movie night! Whohoo!!! =)
Chloe09 Posted Aug 9, 2013, 7:01 pm	We got the honor of going to Sauna night at Chloe’s aunt and uncles place in Humboldt, Michigan. A sauna (SOW-na) is a room with a hot stove or coals that are heated by water to create a nice hot steamy room. It is a Finnish tradition to have saunas. It was very interesting and quite warm! Hop, Miche, Kitsune, Mr. Scrapes, Bullseye, Juulia and I had a blast taking in the sauna. =) We got to watch The Great and Powerful Oz with Chloe's aunt! We will be heading back to Minnesota tomorrow….it’s been a fun trip! =) Much Love, Mister Spike

Chloe09 Posted Aug 19, 2013, 8:15 pm	Downtown Minneapolis is filled with big buildings, lots of people and noise!!! This is the Minneapolis City Hall. It occupies an entire city block and has about 680,000 gross square feet. The building is an architectural treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places and was designed by Long and Keys Architects. The building also features a 15-bell chime and is the only American made set that can play the "Star Spangled Banner" in the original key. Every hour, quarter, and half-hour you will hear the bells of the tower. The bells were manufactured in New York and weigh from 300 to 7,300 pounds each -- over 14 tons total. This building is the Hennepin County Court House. Little bit of information about it! It was pretty cool. The Hennepin County Courthouse, located in the Hennepin County Government Center, was completed in 1974. It was designed by John Carl Warnecke and Associates of San Francisco, with Peterson, Clark and Associates of Minneapolis. The masonry is the same carnelian red granite from Ortonville, MN, that was used in building the Minneapolis City Hall, where the courthouse used to be located. The diagonal braces of the modern building are steel sprayed with a fireproofing material to which a cream-colored porcelain-type material was fused. The building's total cost was about $50 million, with $1.6 million more spent after completion on making necessary window changes, fitting an additional floor for courtrooms, and installing glass walls on atrium floors and walkways. This is the Public Safety building. It's a jail!! Here's some information Chloe09 told us about it! The Hennepin County Sheriff's Office operates the largest pre-trial adult detention facility (commonly called the jail) in the State of Minnesota. Jail facilities are located in two different buildings in downtown Minneapolis, but are treated as one facility:     The Public Safety Facility (PSF) has 330 beds for arrestees.     The City Hall (ADC) has 509 beds for arrestees. On average each year, there are approximately 40,000 bookings at the jail. The jail is currently staffed for a capacity of 703 beds, and the average population in 2009 was 694. The jail has consistently earned the distinction of being accredited by the American Correctional Association for maintaining the highest standards of inmate custody and care. This is the United States District Courthouse. The history of the judicial system in Minnesota begins in 1849 when the first territorial court term was held in Stillwater, Minnesota. The U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota was not established until nine years later when Minnesota became a State in 1858. Minneapolis Central Library, located at 300 Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis, is the largest library of the Hennepin County Library public library system. It’s got 4 full floors of books, music and fun!! There is a coffee shop in there along with a little shop to buy books that the library no longer uses. We got to hang out in the beautiful tree and see everyone hanging out. We met a cute adorable German Shepard dog. Dinner the night of Christmas Eve..... Christmas Day Brunch!!!!! Chloes gifts!!
Chloe09 Posted Jan 16, 2014, 8:34 pm	Happy Holidays! We went to a fabulous Holidazzle parade! This is the last year it will run so Chloe made sure we went. It was a chilly night but only when we sat on the concrete. Since it was dark out, Chloe had to attach a link to an album with the pictures since some of the pictures don’t include us! We were there though and had so much fun! Chloe got a white hot chocolate to stay warm and we got some sips. =) Once again it is time to bundle up, pick up the family, and head to Target Holidazzle! 'Come See the Night in a Whole New Light' at Target Holidazzle with illuminated floats, music, celebrity Grand Marshals, and of course, Santa in his sleigh! Every year since 1992 when the first parade marched down Nicollet Mall, over 300,000 spectators converge on Downtown Minneapolis to celebrate this Holiday tradition. Unfortunately not all of the pictures had us in it because it was dark and a little too hard for Chloe.
