This is where I´m born, the Fritz-Walter-Stadium in Kaiserslautern. It is also one of the stadiums used in the 2006 World Cup. It is named after Fritz Walter, who played for the Kaiserslautern club throughout his career and was captain of the Germany national football team that won the 1954 FIFA World Cup in the "Legend of Bern". The Stadium was built on the Betzenberg Hill, hence its nickname "Betze", and was opened in 1920. |

Our train ran across the Seto Ohashi Bridge over the Inland Sea. And we came to Kurashiki-city, Okayama prefecture.
This area is kept the old city view of Tokugawa Shogunate period. (17th-19th century) There are many historical houses beside the canal. These were once used as warehouse of cotton. "Kura" of the city's name means warehouse in Japanese. |

Yes, you know that I have already got a chance to cross the bridge In mountain I saw a very strange statue of Ushi-Oni. It is a creature which appears in the folklore of Japan. |

Shodo-shima - Shodo Island
Shodo-shima is located north of Takamatsu, the capital city of Kagawa prefecture. The ferry boat took us to the island. It takes about one hour from the port of Takamatsu. Now we stand on the highest place in the island. This area is called Kankakei, if it's November we can see the beautiful autumn color. On the way to the rest house from the peak of the mountain, we came across a group of wild Japanese monkeys!!! I was surprised |

Hi Mom,
bad weather days need a good and interesting place to go although one wants to stay at the cosy home. Hostmom said she wants to show us her favourite place. She said it's a very peaceful and contemplativ place. I wondered what'll make this place so special. It doesn't look special at first sight. When we came closer, Hostmom told us, the place is called "Elsenau" a pilgrimage chapel like Lourdes. She isn't very religious, but this place seems to touch here deep inside. Usually there are always new candles burning and fresh flowers, but as there is a construction site where the street meets the sidewalk, it's not easy to get there for elder people. So only a few flowers. I wasn't sure if it's ok for me to take pictures there, as I'm a devil. But there was nobody else so we took some pictures. |
Biggi Posted Nov 21, 2012, 2:25 pm |
Hi Mom,
we had very foggy days. So all the other pictures which were taken don't come clearly so I can't show you more than this one. This was taken between Sankt Georgen and Peterzell. In Peterzell is a shop where fruit and vegetables sold. These are grown at the Isle of Reichenau in the Lake Bodensee. |

Hi Mom,
although it was very cold we made a trip to a romantik medieval city. Well only the old city of Fridingen is medieval but these old houses are still in use. Behind these historic walls you can still hear pigs oink, this was and still is a farmhouse (in the middle of the town!) On this wall you can see a painting of the Fridinger Narr, which is a traditional carnival clothing. Although the weather was sunny, we had a lot of shadow. That's beause of the early sunset, which came soon after we took these pictures. |

Hi Mom,
I was at a very interesting sightseeing point at the Donau Valley. The point is called "Knopfmacherfelsen" (Buttonmakerrock) There is a small and stony path to a point located on the outskirts. From there you have a very good view on a Donau curve. on the leftside in the valley you can get a glimpse on the Beuron monastery this picture doesn't show how difficult these stairs are. Lots of roots and stones all over the path. On the way down the hill we got a nice view ob the monastery. |

Hi,
as my host had a really bad time since a good friend died on 1. December, we didn't made a lot of things to take pictures of. I think it wasn't the right place and time. But then we went for a walk in the snow. Although it was a bright day, the pictures came out very dark. |

Hi Mom,
the last trip for the Year 2012 we made to the Feldberg. Up there, there was still snow although we don't have snow at the hosts place anymore. The Feldberg is about 1233 meters above sea level. It was a sunny day and many people used their day off to go skiing or riding the sledge. |

Dear Mom
Today, the weather not too friendly. The rain falling down since the morning and the sky always cloudy. But today, we still visit an iconic building in Denpasar, capital city of Bali, named Bajra Sandhi Monument. The picture maybe not so good, because its a cloudy and some scenes taken during the drizzling rain. About the Bajra Sandhi itself , the architecture is very unique, taking the shape of Bajra or Genta, a bell that used by Hindu Priests during religious ceremonies. It is also a symbol of the bond between males and females that creates prosperity according to the epic that tells the story of the Gods struggle to get the Water of Eternity. Every statue and each carving in the monument compound has its own meaning. The whole of the monument symbolizes Mount Mandara where, according to the epic Mahabarath, the Gods had a battle with giants fighting for the Water of Eternity Love B |

Dear Mum
Here is my picture when i went to Sanur Beach, one of the famour beach in the Denpasar, capital city of Bali picture no 1-7 : Stunning Sanur Beach picture no 8 : name board of the Village picture no 9-10 : A jukung or canoe is a small wooden Indonesian boat. It is a traditional fishing boat. Essentially of Balinese origin, the double outrigger jukung is but one of many types of Pacific/Asian outrigger canoes that use the crab claw sail traditional throughout Polynesia. Whilst this sail presents some difficulties in tacking into the wind, actually requiring to jibe around, a jukung is superb in its reaching ability and jibe-safe running. They are usually highly decorated and bear a marlin-like prow. Picture no 11-13 : with Canang Sari in the beach and Jukung. Canang sari is one of the daily offerings made by Balinese Hindus to thank the Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa in praise and prayer. Canang sari will be seen in the Balinese temples (pura), on small shrines in houses, and on the ground or as a part of a larger offering. The phrase canang sari is derived from the Balinese words sari (essence) and canang (a small palm-leaf basket as the tray). Canang itself consists of two syllables Kawi language of ca (beautiful) and nang (purpose).. Each direction symbolizes a Hindu God (deva): • White-colored flowers that point to the east as a symbol of Iswara • Red-colored flowers that point to the south as a symbol of Brahma • Yellow-colored flowers that point to the west as a symbol of Mahadeva • Blue or green colored flowers that point to the north as a symbol of Vishnu Love B |

Hello
Today my host introduced me about The Music of Bali. The music of Bali is extremely complex and vibrant. The original purpose of music here again is to serve religious beliefs, accompanying dances or wayang theaters. The traditional Balinese orchestra, known as gamelan, is composed of various forms of percussions, with notes overlapping and criss crossing among the various kinds. There is a number of string and woodwind instruments, but most of the players, which can range from a few to several dozen, sit behind various kinds of metallophones, gongs, and xylophones. Each gamelan has its own tuning, preventing instruments from being interchanged from one gamelan to another. Love B |

This weekend we stayed at Sant Feliu de Pallarols, a little village in Girona.
After a long trip finally arrived at Sant Feliu de Pallarols! First we went to the house to leave the package. Here you can see some rooms of the house: Just in the entrance, there was a living room with a pool table: Upstairs, another little living room near the bedrooms: And in other floor, there was a big room to project films on DVD or to play with the Wii: There was a garden with a border and with a little lake: After seeing the house, we took a walk by the village. This sculpture was at the entrance of the village and near the river. It’s a “Pescallunes”, this is the nickname of people who live there. A “Pescallunes” is a person who wants to fish the moon. The story tells that one night a young man was walking nearby the river when he saw the reflected light of the moon in the water and wanted to fish it with a basket. He tried it several times, but without success. And another man who saw him laughed and ridiculed him and called him “Pescallunes”. Now, “Pescallunes” means a person with dreams and illusions. The center square with a market: And the center of the square, a beautiful tree-fountain: A fruit-garden: Some roses: A shield in the floor: Some stairs to go near the river: And the church: In this trip we made a lot of new friends!!! Some guinea pigs: A snail: And a bat!!! |

Hi mom!!!
This year we go to the festivities of Sants. This neighborhood decorates its streets. The first street we found was this one decorated as a hell and it was a criticism about political corruption. The next street was a forest. This street was decorated as the house of Club Super 3. Club Super 3 is a TV program for children where we can see some different cartoons. Here, we met Son Goku and Vegeta and Shin Chan with his family. This TV program is also a club. Look!! This is my membership card!!!! And this hand is the mascot of the club. It’s a super hand!! Oh, oh!!! In another street we found an Alien spaceship!!! Waaahhh!!! A baby Alien attacks me!!! Better run… Ufff!!! We are safe now in this zouk And walking, we arrived to Venice!!! And in the last street we found a dragon. Can you see the knight at the left of the picture? This is the story of Sant Jordi (Saint George). The story tells that a dragon was frightening a whole village during a lot of time, eating its sheeps, cows… The people of the village decided to sacrifice a person per week to calm the dragon. But the random select the princess to be immolated!!! And when the princess was already in the cave of the dragon, a knight, Jordi, arrived and killed the dragon whit his sword. From the blood of the dragon, some red roses were born. The knight took one of them and gave it to the princess and returned her to the village. It’s a romantic story but poor dragon!!! I think he wasn’t as bad as people though, he only was hungry!!! |

whodalalee Posted Apr 29, 2014, 11:20 pm |
Today we went for an adventure to a huge place to get a truck full of topsoil! On the way there I had a beautiful view of Okanagan Lake....then there was the front loader that dumped all the dirt into the back of the truck....so fun! |
whodalalee Posted Apr 29, 2014, 11:24 pm |
When we got home we saw that someone had arrived in the mail...It was my new pal Molito from Germany...Prickles and I greeted him and so did Gibb's the cat and Keiko the dog...he is very small, so I think the dog scared him! He was very tired, so we all took a little snooze with Tigger the cat! It's a great day! |
whodalalee Posted May 6, 2014, 4:16 am |
It is such a wonderful day here! The sun was shining and it was almost 20 C....We went to our first pub before the softball game my hosts were going to play...notice the moose head in the background! |
whodalalee Posted May 6, 2014, 4:19 am |
After the pub, we went to the softball game...It was sooo exciting...we were able to sit in the dug out and had a great view of the game from the fence....We even tested out the bats! |
whodalalee Posted May 6, 2014, 4:22 am |
Our hosts didn't win, but it was so much fun! On the way home we stopped to see the apple blossoms in one of the many many orchards here in Kelowna....My friends Prickles, Molito and I had a wonderful outing! |
whodalalee Posted May 9, 2014, 9:24 am |
Today the dogs barked and I knew that meant the mailman had come...Prickles, Molito and I were so excited to meet our new friend Princess...she arrived from Germany.....We helped her unpack her suitcase and gave her a warm welcome....She was a little afraid of the dog "keiko", but Molito and I assured her that the dog was nice! |
whodalalee Posted May 9, 2014, 9:26 am |
Princess had a little nap and something to eat ,and then we were all off for her first adventure in Canada...It was to the Physiotherapist! |
whodalalee Posted May 9, 2014, 9:29 am |
Because we behaved very well today, my host took us to the beach after Physiotherapy, It is on the beautiful Okanagan lake beach called Rotory Beach.... We sat at a picnic table and watched the Canadian Geese in the water, then we walked through the sand...it was nice and soft...after that we played in the sand and then tried to climb a tree....we even got to sit on the water bicycles! We got one last look at the pretty beach from my host's car..... on the way home, we stopped to see all the baby cows in a pasture...they are soo cute! |
whodalalee Posted May 9, 2014, 9:32 am |
As soon as we got home, I smelled something wonderful...my host said it was the lilac bushes.....Prickles asked if we could go see them....they smell so good!!!! |
whodalalee Posted May 11, 2014, 12:36 am |
Today we watched intently as Prickles underwent an operation...she is preparing for her first trip, so she wanted to have a Canadian Flag on her body, so everyone knew where she was from...it didn't take too long, but I don't like needles, so I was very happy it wasn't me! |
whodalalee Posted May 13, 2014, 10:30 pm |
We were very excited today when a new suitcase arrived in the mail...it was from HAMBURG! I miss Germany, but I am enjoying Kelowna...Princess, Molito and Prickles helped me open the suitcase and inside was our new friend Rico! He was a bit overwhelmed with all the cats and dogs we have in our host home, but he was happy to see us. |
whodalalee Posted May 16, 2014, 12:59 am |
I am so enjoying my visit here in Kelowna, my mommy is looking for my next host soon, so I was happy when we were able to go to Gyro beach today! We sat and watched people from the picnic table...when Prickles, Princess, Molito, Rico and I got thirsty, we went to the snack shop that was shaped like an apple and had an ice cold slushie! I got brain freeze because I was trying to finish mine first, but little Molito finished first! He wanted to go on the slide, not really something I was wanting to do, because it isn't as fun as soccer, but we all went anyway...Molito won the race down too! I was then so determined to get to the top of the climbing wall, but Princess passed me and won! I was tired by then, so suggested we rest on the beach and enjoy the view of Lake Okanagan. I will sure miss this view when my mommy finds my new host and have to leave....but finally I had and idea and called this cute little boy over to us and asked if we could play in his wagon and with his sand toys...he was very nice and said yes....later, before we left I got another beautiful view of the lake from Prickles' moms car window..... |

Wow, I had no idea there was such a cool hobby! Prickles' mom sends and receives postcards from all over the world...today, she got so many in the mail! It is called POSTCROSSING! Now I am so inspired about my future travels...I hope mommy will find me a new host to visit soon! Every night I think to myself, "Is there anyone who wants me to come to their place soon?" Although I have had a great time here, I would love to see another wonderful place soon. |
whodalalee Posted May 21, 2014, 11:12 pm |
The weather was perfect for a softball game....I love my sports and this is one that makes me smile. Rico, Princess, Molito, Prickles and I were able to experience first hand the excitement of the game when we sat and watched from the sidelines....we even got closer when we went up to the fence! This time my hosts won the game! I will miss the lovely Canadian weather when I leave! |
whodalalee Posted May 21, 2014, 11:18 pm |
Now I know that it is going to be a good week...we have a new TV that arrived today. His name is Emil...I think he is a very nice fellow...It is getting a bit full now with all of us in the guest room, I know mommy is looking for a new host for me, so I think I will be okay for a little longer...but hopefully she will find me a new host soon, so I don't have to sleep beside the un-named snoring TV I have to sleep next to now! |
whodalalee Posted May 23, 2014, 1:28 am |
Oh mommy, I am so excited! Today, after lunch my host threw a going away party for me and Prickles....I was every surprised that she would do this, but very pleased too! Princess, Molito, Prickles, Rico, Emil and I all partied for a long time. They all gave me big hugs and then we hugged Prickles too...She is very nervous going on her first tour of the world...soon it was time to pack my suitcase. I am taking a postcard, some Canadian Candy and another treat with me. I am off to Oakland California USA! I sure will miss all the guys here and the 5 animals too! But I am extremely excited to continue my tour of the world! I will let you know as soon as I arrive mommy! Bye bye Canada! |
Mouse Posted Jun 6, 2014, 6:33 am |
Hi, mum! I arrived in California couple days ago and just been resting. Mouse was busy as well, so i just stayed home and chatted with my new friends (Mouse is hosting 4 more TVs!). Couple days after my arrival, I came to the city with my new host - she had to go to work, so i could only snap two pictures. But it seems to be a cool place - nice cool weather! |
Mouse Posted Jun 6, 2014, 6:43 am |
Today Mouse needed to run some errands, so I tagged along Since it was nice, warm and the place that we needed to go to was very close (20 min walk) from our place, we decided not to drive. We figured that this way I would get to see some of the Lake Merritt and just enjoy the day! Halfway through I sat down on the ground and Mouse snapped a picture of me overlooking the lake |
Mouse Posted Jun 6, 2014, 6:51 am |
On the way back we mailed some postcards! These went to Russia, Germany, Japan and Turkey. Mouse has been doing postcrossing for a little over 7 months now and she loves it! Do you see me helping her put those cards into the box? What would have she done without my help? |
Mouse Posted Jun 6, 2014, 7:46 am |
So human took me to Pier 39 today and we passed by this little shop. Look at this! How about some of that Christmas mood in June? |
Mouse Posted Jun 6, 2014, 7:48 am |
And another screen that's Halloween themed! That guy thinks he can scare me! He is so wrong |

Hey, mum, how long do you think this pirate has been standing outside of this gift shop? He doesn't look so good. |
Mouse Posted Jun 6, 2014, 8:00 am |
Since we all look so good today... Here are couple group photos |
