Today we had a quiet day. First we had a nice relaxing mug of hot chocolate.

Today mom got a package from her grandma
![]() Me and RusselltheBear tried to help open the package. Seems like grandma is a real tape freak. ![]() Got the wrapping off but more tape ?!?!?!?!?! ![]() Oh look, is that cookies? YUM! ![]() Mom let us try some ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Jan 22, 2010, 6:47 am |
When mom got back from class, she told us she had 2 surprises. The first one was very delicious. We both got Cadbury Cream Eggs, which are chocolate eggs with what looks like yolk inside but it's not real. It was yummy!
![]() The second surprise was really a surprise but today mom introduced us to a new sibling TV named Regina. ![]() We got along just fine. ![]() Time to go to bed now ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Jan 24, 2010, 6:14 am |
Today was another quiet day. Well mom was cleaning, I read one of her school newspaper called The Concordian.
![]() Later we watch a movie called Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Mom rented the movie off Zip.ca, the Canadian version of Netflicks.com ![]() Also had some cheese while we watch the movie. ![]() I really like Elizabeth, she was a cool queen. ![]() |

Today went out, yay! Mom had to do some shopping, (basically spending a gift card she got for Christmas. We took the metro to get there.
![]() We went to a store called Future Shop which sells movies, videos games, computers and other electronics. The store is the old Montreal Forum where the Montreal Canadiens played before they new arena further downtown. Now it's an entertainment complex. ![]() Where I stand is approximately where centre ice was located. ![]() This is a statue of Maurice Richard (I think?) who was arguable their best player of all time and they've been around for a long time, (for a 100 years already). ![]() These seats are authentic seats from the old Forum. Feels like I'm sitting on History. After we went to see The Book of Eli. (did I forget to mention there was a movie theatre in here to?), which was a pretty good movie except the ending though. I won't say what happened so I don't spoil the movie for anyone. ![]() Later me, mom and Regina threw a going away party for RusselltheBear. We had some sparkling wine. That's RusselltheBear trying to open the bottle, it was a little hard for him so mom helped him out. ![]() We also had a spaghetti dinner which was delicious. ![]() And we had a candy called Fuzzy Peaches for desert which was also delicious. ![]() Well that's it for today. Tomorrow we say goodbye for now to RusselltheBear. Hopefully he will have fun in China. |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Jan 25, 2010, 10:24 pm |
Today was kind of a sad day, RusselltheBear is leaving today to start his adventures. We're happy that he's starting his travels but sad that he's leaving.
Regina, mom and I said goodbye to RusselltheBear. ![]() We didn't let him leave without giving him a big hug. Happy travels bro ![]() ![]() |

When mom came back, she brought treats. It was the first time I tried these chips but they were a little too spicy. Luckily I had some water to drink.
![]() Then we played video games on mom's Wii. First we played Animal Crossing: City Folk ![]() That's me on action. ![]() Then we played Super Paper Mario...not your average Mario game. ![]() Here's another action shot me playing. ![]() Heading off to bed now ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Jan 31, 2010, 6:00 am |
Today we stayed in because it was too cold outside. Mom said outside feels like around -33, yikes! But apparently it's normal around here though Mom doesn't like the cold much.
First while mom was doing a little studying, I relaxed, reading a travel guide of Berlin. Mom's going to Germany next month and she promised that I was good then she would take me along. So that means I'm going ![]() ![]() Lots of interesting sites that I want to see, wondering if we will have time to see it all? ![]() Later we watched Hockey Day in Canada which is held everyday to celebrate the game of hockey. This year it was held in Stratford, ON, home of the world famous Shakespearean Festival. We watched and heard different hockey stories about teamwork and stuff from all over the country. Then after all 6 Canadian NHL fteams face each other. Mom didn't care about the first game (Montreal Canadiens vs. Ottawa Senators) because she was not a big fan of either team. The second game she was more interested in because one of her favourite teams, the Toronto Maple Leafs were playing against the Vancouver Cancucks. The Leafs were up 3-0 after the 1st but ultimately lost 5-3, mom was not happy. ![]() The 3rd and final game had the Edmonton Oilers Vs. the Calgary aka the Battle of Alberta. Mom was happy that her Flames were leading 5-1 after the 2nd and eventually won 6-1. Mom was happy that one of her teams won. ![]() Time for bed ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Feb 2, 2010, 2:50 am |
Today was an exciting day, mom's brother (that would make him my uncle) is coming to visit. He came all the way from Toronto on a train ![]() So we gathered up all the dirty towels and put them in the laundry bag. (Those letters on the bag are mom's sorority's letters). ![]() Mom let me pushed the button to go to the laundry which is on the top floor. ![]() We watched mom put the towels into the washing machine. ![]() ![]() Look at me in the washing machine, hopefully I won't fall in. ![]() While waiting for the towels to wash, we sat by the window. What an amazing view from the laundry room. ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Feb 2, 2010, 3:26 am |
After enjoying the scenery, we chilled out on this chair. Not too comfortable.
![]() When the towels were done in the washer, mom put the them in the dryer. ![]() The towels are ready to be dried now, hopefully mom won't closed the dryer door on us. ![]() After we were thankfully not left in the dryer, we went to see if we could go on the balcony on the other side of the building. I tried to open the door, but it was lock and it looked like it was cold outside so I'm glad we stayed in. ![]() We then went downstairs to check the mail. Mom let me open the mailbox. ![]() Mom got a postcard from the Netherlands and a movie. ![]() Back upstairs, Regina and I played with a Halloween puzzle. ![]() When the towels we done, mom wrapped us in some warm towels while she put away the others. ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Feb 2, 2010, 4:14 am |
Yay! We are finally on our way to pick up my uncle. We took the Metro to the train station. Here we are at Lionel-Groulx Metro station to switch lines, from the Green line to the Orange line.
![]() We finally made it to Central Station after a long enough delay on the metro. We were at one metro station for about 15 minutes. Apparently there was a fire in the metro, so that cause the delay. Luckily we arrived safe and sound. ![]() His train was delayed so we sat down and waited. Mom brought us a treat while we waited. ![]() ![]() His train is almost here, we waited by the gate until it arrived. ![]() We didn't do much after that. My uncle actually fell asleep while we watched some TV. Maybe we'll do something tomorrow? |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Feb 4, 2010, 5:13 pm |
Today Mom showed us a strange-looking envelope. Regina and I wondered what was inside.
![]() When we opened the envelope, we found a moose TV sticking out of it. ![]() We found out is name is Munchy Moose. He is a very nice moose from the States. He showed as a postcard that his mom sent with him. ![]() We sat around and got to know each other a little bit. We also talked about traveling and where we wanted to go. ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Feb 4, 2010, 5:34 pm |
After Mom showed Munchy Moose around, we had McDonald's for dinner. The Big Mac was delicious.
![]() Then we sat down and watch a show called Little Britain USA, it was really funny. ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Feb 7, 2010, 6:48 pm |
Today we went to see a movie called From Paris with Love. It was playing at a movie theatre in the old Montreal Forum where the Montreal Canadien's used to play until they moved to a newer arena further downtown. Now it's an entertainment complex with restaurants, a movie theatre, a comedy club and some stores.
![]() This is approximately where centre ice was when the Forum was still used as a arena. ![]() This is a statue of Maurice Richard, one of the greatest Habs players of all time. ![]() We were a little early for the movie, so we sat around relaxed on an authentic seat from the Forum. ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Feb 7, 2010, 7:29 pm |
While sitting down, I notice that their Christmas is still up. Don't they know that it's February now?
![]() Finally we get to our seat. That's me enjoying a blue raspberry icee or slushie. The movie was very good but I won't say anything else because I don't want to spoil it if you want to see the movie. ![]() Later, we watched some hockey. First we watch mom's favourite team, the Toronto Maple Leafs face their provincial rivals the Ottawa Senators. The Leafs won 5-0 and mom was very happy. ![]() After we watched another hockey game, this time it was the Edmonton Oilers against the Colorado Avalanche (one of mom's other favourite team), The Avalanche won 3-0 which made my host even more happy. ![]() Tomorrow we're going to watch the Super Bowl, can't wait ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Feb 9, 2010, 7:07 pm |
We started off the day with some breakfast. We had a very delicious donut and some yogurt.
![]() After breakfast, we played some video games. That's me playing Animal Crossing: City Folks, talking with one of my neighbours. ![]() Before the game, Mom got some snacks to eat. One bowl has Lay's Ketchup chips and the other bowl has Miss Vickie's Jalapeno chips. I preferred the ketchup chips. ![]() Mom also gave us some beer to wash down the chips. ![]() Then we watched the game. It was a good game overall but Mom was disappointed that her Colts didn't win but she said that there was always next year. ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Feb 13, 2010, 6:24 pm |
After mom showed Munchy Moose around, we had a Manakish, (which is a pita with chesse and other stuff). This one was a plain cheese one and it was really good.
![]() Later we watched the opening ceremony of the Vancouver Olympics. It was a spectacular show. This pic shows the RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police or the "Mounties".) are carrying in the Canadian flag. ![]() Next, the Natives welcomed the world to their lands. This shows one of the tribes but I forget which one. ![]() Next came the parade of nations and when the Americans came in Munchy Moose cheered for them. ![]() When Canada came in, Mom, me, and Regina all started to cheer. They came in last because they were the host nation. ![]() Next was the cultural part of the ceremony. This segment of called "The Hymn of the North". ![]() After, the Governor General of Canada, Michaelle Jean declared the games open. ![]() The lighting of the Olympic Cauldron usually is a one person job but they had 4 people light it (well 3, since there was a technical error). ![]() This was a spectacular night and historical one too. This was the first time in Olympic history that the opening ceremony and the Olympic cauldron was held in an indoor stadium. |

Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Today was kind of a sad day because my sister Regina is leaving tomorrow for the Netherlands so today is her last day here. So we decided to throw her a going away party.
First we ate some delicious nachos. ![]() We also had some delicious French wine. I know, not the usually choice of drink with nachos. ![]() For dessert, we had some Valentine's Day chocolates, also very delicious. ![]() Later we watched some of the Olympics. First we watched the Ladies' 3000m Long-Track Speed-Skating. Canada's Kristina Groves won the bronze medal WOOOHOOOO! ![]() Then we watched the Men's Freestyle Skiing-Moguls Finals. It was a very good competition. Here's Bryon Wilson of the Us, he was 3rd in qualifying and ended up winning Bronze, good for him! ![]() Then came Alexandre Bilodeau of Canada. Guess how he finished? 1st! All of Canada is celebrating now because that is their first Olympic gold on home soil. I know that me, Mom, and Regina were jumping up, crying and screaming because he made history. We were all amazed because we witnessed history. ![]() Time to continue the party ![]() |

Hi Mom,
Today, my sister Regina is leaving today to start her own journey. I was sad that she was leaving but I'm happy that she's starting her travels. She didn't leave without saying good bye though. ![]() Me and Munchy Moose gave her a good bye hug. ![]() Then we both waved goodbye as she climbed into my envelope. ![]() Me and Munchy Moose cried a little when she left but we both hug each other and thought that she is going to have the time of her life. ![]() |

Today we met a new TV, his name is Cpl.Flapjack Jr who happens to be my new little brother. He was a little shy.
![]() His shyness didn't last though and became fast friends. We won't be hanging around a lot because he's going to be leaving for Austria soon. In meantime though, we hung out and talked about traveling. ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Mar 3, 2010, 6:31 pm |
Today we got a surprise from Mom, we're going on a trip! The destination is still a secret but we are going away for about a week. Here is me, Munchy Moose, and Cpl.Flapjack Jr with our bags packed.
![]() Later at the airport, we had some dinner. A delicious burger and fries. ![]() Then we wash down the food with some Canadian beer. ![]() Mom finally told us where we are going, or at least kind of. She said that we were definitely going to Europe and we would be flying to Paris first but that it won't be our final destination. Here's a picture of me with the airplane we are going to fly. ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Mar 13, 2010, 5:06 pm |
Guess where we went? We're in Germany! Here we are waiting for the train to take us to the centre of town and to our hostel.
I would of taken pictures in Paris but our plane was late and we had to rush between terminals. ![]() The train that we were on is called the S-Bahn. It was a pleasant ride which took about 40 minutes. ![]() WE got off at Central Station and tried to find our accommodations but we got lost. Since we were getting hungry as well, we decided to stop at this nice cafe to eat. We had some pizza and orange Fanta. It was delicious. ![]() After finishing our meal and consulting a map, we finally found our hostel. Since we were so tired we relaxed on the table in our room and hung out. ![]() Later we went to Pizza Hut for dinner where had more delicious pizza. ![]() After dinner we went back to the hostel to sleep because we were so jet-lag. |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Mar 21, 2010, 11:29 pm |
Today we went to the Old Town of Munich. First stop was to Marienplatz where the square is named after the patron saint of te city (the Virgin Mary). The little gold statue there is of her. You can also see he New City Hall and on it's facade you can also see the Glockenspiel, a mechanical clock that performs a miniature tournament. We tried tp go see it but we went at the wrong time.
![]() Here's me with a street sign that says Marienplatz. ![]() After browsing in some shops, we sat down and took a break. It was kind of slippery walking to the beach but we had no problems. ![]() After our break, we continued walking until we ended up at Max-Joseph-Platz, which the square and the statue behind me was built in honour of Bavaria's first king, Maximillion I Joseph. ![]() Behind the statue is the Nationaltheater, home of the Bavarian State Opera and the Bavarian National Ballet ![]() Next we went to the Residenz or the Royal Palace which was the home of all the Dukes, Electors and Kings of Bavarias during their reigns. ![]() The other side of the entrance. ![]() The entrance to the inside of the palace. ![]() After about 3 hours walking around the palace, we sat on a bench outside to catch our breath. It's hard for us TVs to walk around for 3 hours straight with little legs like ours but we had fun. ![]() After our mini-break, we walked up north towards Odenplatz. On our way there, we noticed this cafe called Nespresso with an ad with George Clooney in it. We were all surprised because we didn't think that we would see George Clooney on an ad in Germany but we thought it was cool. ![]() Finally we reached Odenplatz, First we saw the Theatinerkirche or the Church of St. Kajetan. The church contains the tombs od many of the Bavarian royals. ![]() Next we saw the Feldherrnhalle a tribute commissioned by King Ludwig I to the Bavarian Army. This also where Hilter's Beer Hall putsch failed. ![]() Later we tried to go see a movie but when we arrived we were either way to early or way to late. We also tried to find this sushi restaurant but apparently it doesn't exist anymore so we ended up at McDonald's. ![]() |

Today we went back to the Old Town to go to the Hard Rock Cafe to have lunch.
![]() While waiting for our meal, we had some nice cold beer. ![]() After we browse though some souvenir shops and just walked around. Then we sat and relaxed at cafe, drinking some Orange Fanta. ![]() Then we started to read a book about Agatha Christie. We were so comfortable that we stay for the rest of the afternoon and evening. ![]() Tomorrow we're taking a train to Berlin, the capital of Germany. So we're going to bed early to check the train tomorrow. |

![]() While we wait for the train, Mom brought some snacks that we could eat and take on the train with us. ![]() Finally the train arrives and we're on our way. It was an uneventful ride and we TVs fell asleep and didn't wake up until we got to the hostel. ![]() Wonder what our first day in Berlin has in store? |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Mar 23, 2010, 12:57 am |
Today we explored a bit of Berlin. First off we went to Alexanderplatz. We browsed through some shops and Mom got some clothes for my aunt and one of my uncles for their birthdays. Then we walked to the S-bahn station to go to another part of the city.
![]() ![]() We took the S-Bahn to Unter Den Linden to go see the Brandenburg Gate. It is the only remaining gate of a series through which you formerly entered Berlin. ![]() Here's a view of Unter Den Linden which is a boulevard with posh cafes, hotels, etc. Though it has other stuff as well. You can also see the Radio Tower in the background. ![]() We headed back on Unter Den Linden and stopped at a cafe to get something to eat. We tried some currywurst, a German delicacy. It's basically a sausage smothered in a curry sauce made out of Ketchup and curry powder. It also came with fries at the side. It was delicious. ![]() After our delicious meal, we headed off to Berlin Central Station for a change of scenery. We relaxed and had a coffee at a cafe inside the station for a while. Eventually we got sleepy so we left and went back to the hostel. ![]() |
imahockeynut tina1_1tuna@hotmail.com Posted Mar 23, 2010, 3:03 am |
Today we started off our day with KFC. The fries were ok but the Chicken Caesar Wrap was awesome. Everything was fresh and there was even big pieces of croutons. Yum!
![]() We went to the East Side Gallery which is an outdoor museum that showcases the last remaining part of the Berlin Wall. ![]() The Berlin Wall today has been painted by various painters. Is is one part of the wall. ![]() Later we went back to Unter Den Linden to go to this cafe called Einstein. ![]() Inside, we had a caffe latte in a glass and some cheesecake. The latte was good but the cheesecake not so much. ![]() Later we headed south to Potsdamer Platz to watch a movie. The theatre is located in the Sony Centre. ![]() Since we were a little early, we decided to get something to eat. We ended up eating at an Australian restaurant. ![]() After dinner we went to go see Sherlock Holmes. It was interesting to note that movie theatres here have assigned seating which surprised me but we enjoyed the movie anyhow. ![]() |

We didn't do to much today. We rode the S-Bahn to check out the rest of the city. Here we are sitting on the train.
![]() After we went to Burger King for dinner, not so bad. ![]() I'm a little sad because tomorrow is our last day but we're going to have fun anyways. |

Today is our last full day in Ottawa. We spent some time outside the hostel.
![]() Then we relaxed a little by reading a book. It was about William Shakespeare's wife, Anne Hathaway. ![]() Then we went to Parliament Hill. There two chambers on either side of the Centre Block, the House of Commons (the elected house) and the Senate (the appointed house). There's also the Peace Tower in the middle. ![]() We tried to get on a guided tour but all the tickets were sold out. So instead we walked around the grounds. This is a statue of John Diefenbaker, Canada's 13th Prime Minister who granted the vote to the Inuit and First Nations people. ![]() Next we found a statue of Alexander Mackenzie, the 2nd Prime Minister of Canada. ![]() A view of the Ottawa River, you can see the Supreme Court of Canada on the left. ![]() This is the Library of Parliament at the back. ![]() A statue of Thomas D'arcy McGee, who was the only federal politician to have been assassination. ![]() A statue of the current Queen, Elizabeth II. ![]() Now this is a statue of Canada's 1st Prime Minister, Sir John A. McDonald. ![]() The last statue we saw was that of the "Famous 5". These women had the definition of "Persons" in the British North America Act to include women. ![]() I had a fun day and a fun time in Ottawa. Can't believe we're leaving tomorrow but oh well ![]() |

Today we're leaving Ottawa. We didn't do much really except hang out at train station waiting for our train. We fell asleep during the ride so we didn't watch the scenery going back but I had fun on this trip.

Mom showed us a package that arrived today. Maybe it's another TV?
![]() When we opened the envelope, a TV name Pela came out. Pela told us that she's from Poland. ![]() ![]() We then started talking and mainly hung out for the rest of the day. ![]() |

We haven't done much lately because Mom has been busy with school. She was nice enough to give us some chocolate for Easter. The chocolate was delicious.
![]() Mom promised us that we'll do something in the next couple of days, depending on the weather. |

Today we went to see a movie called The Bounty Hunter.
![]() Since we were a bit early for a movie, we played some Foosball. It was Pela and me against Marty the Moose and Baabaa. The game ended up in a 5-5 tie. ![]() Now I'm going to sit down and relax with my snacks and enjoy the movie. ![]() |

Hi Mom,
We didn't go to Old Montreal today because my host had a stomach ache but she showed us an envelope that came in the mail today. Maybe another TV? ![]() We opened the envelope to find another TV inside. His name is Bally. ![]() When he got out of his envelope, he showed us candy that his previous host sent along with him. ![]() He then decided to share some of candy with us so we said thank you. We then just hung around and talked about traveling, where we've been and where we want to go. ![]() Tomorrow my host tells me that we're all going to visit Old Montreal, I can't wait! Love you Mom. |

Today we went to Old Montreal and it was a beautiful day outside. Since it was a little far from home, we took the Metro there. This is City Hall from the back.
![]() Next we visited Vauquelin Square which was right beside City Hall. The square and this statue commemorates the French naval officer Jean Vauquelin who was involved in the Seven Years' War. ![]() Here's the front of City Hall. It's currently under construction right now. ![]() Across the street is Place Jacques-Cartier which is a square named after Jacques Cartier, one of the major discoverers of Canada. ![]() We then stopped off at a restaurant called Le Fripon and had some delicious steak and fries. ![]() Then we walked down Rue St. Paul in and out different shops. While walking, we noticed this interesting statue. ![]() We eventually walked to the Notre-Dame Basilica. Here's it is at the side. We would of gotten a picture of the front but there was too much construction around that we couldn't get a good picture. ![]() Then we went to Starbucks to hang out for a while. ![]() |
