Hi mum!
I've finally arrived austria It wasn't a long trip but anyway 3days are enough for a dinosaur in such a small packet! hihi I risked a look out The first I saw were two other TV's. They were very curious One of them tried to touch me because he wasn't shure what I am I was crawling outside and they seemed to be a little bit afraid because I'm a dinosaur.. but I'm not a dangerous one.. I'm very friendly and helpful so we got friends very fast Beside me this is Chacaice. He's from brazil.. and the chameleon on the right side is Bruce Lee. He is from texas they are very nice guys! Today is a cold weather outside and it is snowing so we decided to stay at home.. and have a look at some fotos from Bruce Panda. He is the TV from Claudia and is having a nice time in brazil now |
dani_claudia Posted Feb 12, 2012, 6:53 pm |
Hi mommy!
Today we went out for a walk into the city Graz. Chacaice and Bruce showed me round This is the river Mur. It devides the city one half each. This is an island in the middle of the river = Murinsel We crossed island. There is a cafè on it but in winter it's unfortunately closed. Central Graz is a mountain called Schossberg. Uphill is a tower named Uhrturm. It's the town's landmark. There are countless steps to get uphill. puuuuh exhausting You can walk across the mountain through a tube From the top of the mountain you can look above the city it's very nice there in summer! The clocktower (Uhrturm) There is an old castle Look mum Berlin is 623km away.. |

Hi mum! Sorry for beeing careless with updating travellog previous weeks. My hostmum asked a friend of her to took me to Costa Rica and she was very enthused. So I went on journey for two weeks. It was an adventuresome trip. We crest a vulcan, visited a cacao and coffee plantage, were flying through the jungle, were riding a horse for 4hours, have met crocodiles, poisonous frogs and snakes, and have done a lot of funny things more. Because we had a very close program my new hostmum hadn't time to take a lot of pics.
One week we were spending on caribic beach and one week on pacific beach. We crossed the country with a car. The streets in costa rica are very adventuresome we had to cross big rivers with crocodiles inside (without a brigde!). |

Tom+Jerry Posted Sep 20, 2012, 8:59 am |
Hi Mum,
today, a new TV arrived. Her name is Viola and she's very cute and tiny. NoMi and I were quite anxious to meet her And then finally she stepped out the envelope - look at this sweetheart: We will guard her and we are really looking forwards to our time together! We are leaving to Ireland on Monday and I assume I won't upload anything more before departure. But I will definitely announce myself once we're back at the beginning of October. I love you, Mum. Take care! |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 9, 2012, 10:00 am |
Hi Mom,
we arrived Dublin late in the evening on Sep 24. Look, that's my place to be for the coming days. NoMi, Viola and myself were dry and warm and had a fantastic view out of our travel-bag |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 9, 2012, 10:17 am |
On our first day we travelled to Blarney, a town near Cork, located in the South of Ireland.
There you can find the famous "Blarney Castle" with his very famous "Blarney Stone" The Blarney Stone (Irish: Cloch na Blarnan) is a block of bluestone built into the battlements of Blarney Castle, Blarney, about 8 kilometres from Cork. According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of the gab (great eloquence or skill at flattery). The stone was set into a tower of the castle in 1446. The castle is a popular tourist site in Ireland, attracting visitors from all over the world to kiss the stone and tour the castle and its gardens. This is the castle And here's the stone: We found this sign under the stone: The gardens are beautiful And we walked around a huge lake (Lough Blarney). Viola, NoMi and myself liked the hundreds of waterlilies |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 9, 2012, 4:12 pm |
Today we went to Mizen Head and saw the Atlantic Ocean!!!
Hey, can you see us Mizen Head (Irish: Carn Uí Néid), is located at the extremity of a peninsula in the district of Carbery in County Cork, Ireland. It is one of the extreme points of the island of Ireland, noted for its dramatic cliff scenery. One of the main transatlantic shipping routes passes close by to the south, and Mizen Head was, for many seafarers, the first (or last) sight of Europe. The tip of the peninsula is almost an island, cut off by a deep chasm, now spanned by a bridge; this gives access to an old signalling station, a weather station, and a lighthouse. The signalling station, once permanently manned, is now a museum housing displays relating to the site's strategic significance for transatlantic shipping and communications, including the pioneering efforts of Guglielmo Marconi. The "99 steps" which formed part of the original access route have been supplemented by a series of paths and viewing platforms. Look Mum, the cliffs are impressing! Woooooooaaaaaahhhh |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 9, 2012, 4:19 pm |
I LOVE THE ISLE OF BEARA!!! It's such a beautiful place. I don't have words...
The Beara Peninsula (Irish: Béarra) is a peninsula on the south-west coast of Ireland, bounded between the Kenmare "river" (actually a bay) to the north side and Bantry Bay to the south. It has two mountain ranges running down its centre: the Caha Mountains and the Slieve Miskish Mountains. The northern part of the peninsula from Kenmare to near Ardgroom is in County Kerry, while the rest forms the barony of Bear in County Cork. Today we went hiking and Geocaching. Found it!! |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 1:40 pm |
Here we are at the coast of Kenmare Bay
We went out hiking and found a small path to a stone circle But first, we had to climb a huuuuuge ladder and you know what!? Tiny little Viola was the first one at the top The landscape was absolutely beautiful |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 1:57 pm |
Mom, I couldn't believe the story of Dursey Island and its cable car!! I really had to laugh out loud - look:
Dursey Island (Irish: Baoi Bhéarra or Oileán Baoi) lies at the southwestern tip of the Beara Peninsula. It is 6.5 km long and 1.5 km wide. The island is separated from the mainland by a narrow stretch of water called Dursey Sound which has a very strong tidal race, with a reef of rocks in the centre of the channel which is submerged at high tides. The island is connected to the mainland by Ireland's only cable car, and the only cable car which goes over sea water in Europe! Dursey has no shops, pubs or restaurants. The population is about 6 people. And you know what - they used the cable car to bring sheep to the island some years ago! |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 2:03 pm |
WOW - the view at Moll's Gap was amazing!!
Moll's Gap is a pass on the N71 road from Kenmare to Killarney in County Kerry Ireland. The area is a panoramic spot on the Ring of Kerry route, with views of the Macgillycuddy's Reeks mountains. The rocks at Moll's gap are formed of Old Red Sandstone. Moll's Gap is named after Moll Kissane. |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 2:09 pm |
Oh my goodness ... Glad we didn't find one!!!
|
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 2:18 pm |
We went on a hiking tour round Muckross Lake in Killarney. The woods there must be hundreds of years old, the trees are so huuuuuge!!!
We stopped on the bridge between the Muckross Lake and Lough Leane to take a picture - see below. It's located in Killarney National Park. Killarney National Park (Irish: Páirc Náisiúnta Chill Airne) is located beside the town of Killarney. It was the first national park established in Ireland. The park encompasses over 102.89 km2 (25,425 acres) of diverse ecology, including the Lakes of Killarney, Oak and Yew woodlands of international importance, and mountain peaks. It has Ireland's only native herd of Red Deer and the most extensive covering of native forest remaining in Ireland. The park is of high ecological value because of the quality, diversity, and extensiveness of many of its habitats and the wide variety of species that they accommodate, some of which are rare. The park was designated a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1981. |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 2:34 pm |
One day, we visited the Cliffs of Moher. Mom, they are really really impressing!!!
The Cliffs of Moher (Irish: Aillte an Mhothair) are located at the southwestern edge of the Burren region. They rise 120 metres (390 ft) above the Atlantic Ocean at Hag's Head, and reach their maximum height of 214 metres (702 ft) just north of O'Brien's Tower, eight kilometres to the north. O'Brien's Tower is a round stone tower near the midpoint of the cliffs built in 1835 by Sir Cornelius O'Brien to impress female visitors. From the cliffs and from atop the watchtower, visitors can see the Aran Islands in Galway Bay, the Maumturks and Twelve Pins mountain ranges to the north in County Galway, and Loop Head to the south. Here's the famous O'Brien's Tower |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 2:45 pm |
We felt like being on the moon in The Burren, the countryside is absolutely bleak, but fantastic!
The Burren (Irish: Boireann, meaning "great rock") is a karst-landscape region or alvar in northwest County Clare. It is one of the largest karst landscapes in Europe. The region measures approximately 250 square kilometres. It is bounded by the Atlantic and Galway Bay on the west and north, respectively. A small portion of the Burren has been designated as Burren National Park. It is one of only six National Parks in the Republic of Ireland and the smallest in size (15 km²). Of course, we visited the famous Poulnabrone Dolmen. Poulnabrone Dolmen (Poll na mBrón in Irish meaning "hole of the quern stones") is a portal tomb in The Burren, dating back to the Neolithic period, probably between 4200 BC to 2900 BC. The dolmen consists of a twelve-foot, thin, slab-like, tabular capstone supported by two slender portal stones, which lift the capstone. |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 2:48 pm |
From Galway we went out to the beautiful Connemara. On our way to Clifden, we found another Geocache
|
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 2:57 pm |
Another cache at Lough Inagh. This place was very very windy!!!
Look, my label was flying in the storm |
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 3:03 pm |
Mum, I LOVE THE CONNEMARA! The landscape is absolutely stunning!!!
|
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 3:08 pm |
We found the place where British aviators Alcock and Brown landed the first non-stop transatlantic flight in June 1919. They flew a modified World War I Vickers Vimy bomber from St. John's, Newfoundland, to Clifden. The Secretary of State for Air, Winston Churchill, presented them with the Daily Mail prize for the first crossing of the Atlantic Ocean in 'less than 72 consecutive hours'. There was also a small amount of mail carried on the flight making it the first transatlantic airmail flight. The two aviators were awarded the honour of Knight Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (KBE) a week later by King George V at Windsor Castle.
|
Tom+Jerry Posted Oct 10, 2012, 3:13 pm |
On our last day, we visited the famous Kylemore Abbey.
Kylemore Abbey (Irish: Mainistir na Coille Móire) is a Benedictine monastery founded in 1920 on the grounds of Kylemore Castle. The abbey was founded for Benedictine Nuns who fled Belgium in World War I. It was an absolutely fantastic trip through Ireland and we had a lot of fun and impressing experiences there. |

Hey, I´m in Lienen now, a wonderful village between Osnabrück and Münster!
First, I have met another roommate! She's so cute. We have become friends! Today we had luck. The weather was good once again and we could go to the canyon! This lasts about twenty minutes by car. But the view is wonderful... |

One wonderful week in Paris!!!
My hosts decided spontaneously to drive to Paris to celebrate New Years Eve in front of the Eiffel-Tower. And the best part is, I was there too. I saw many interesting buildings like "Hôtel des Invalides", "Notre-Dame", "Arc de Triomphe de l'Etoile", "Musée de Louvre", "Opéra-Garnier", "Sacré Coeur" and of course the "Eiffel-Tower"! |

Helloooo,
I arrived safe and sound my new host and met some other TV's and two cats. We even made a trip, but unluckily the batteries of the camera were down and we had none to replace them. But yesterday we were lucky, we catched a good sunset. We went up the hill to the "Dreifaltigkeitsberg" (which means Trinity Hill), which is 985 meters above sealevel. There is a monastery and church, first founded in the year 1415 as a little chappel. Later in the 17th century, the church was built and enlarged through the years. A good view downhill on the city of "Spaichingen". While the sun went down, we went for a walk through a field of flowers. Because there were already lots of shadow, you may not see clearly how beautiful all those flowers were. But believe me, they were. As the sun went deeper to the horizon, we changed position again. Look I'm eating the sun! What a calmfull evening! |

Hi
yesterday we made a trip through the "Simonswälder Tal" which is a beautiful valley. Lots of motorcyle riders love to drive there because of all the curves and the nice view. That's what I call a black forest! Fir trees make this forest looking dark and it must have been a frightfull place in former ages. Look at those old and typical farmhouses On this sign you can read whats the name of the three valleys and in which direction they are when you look around from this spot. View up the hill, some fields of grass, some birch trees, but mostly fir trees. Some group pictures of me and the TV-gang. |

Hi Mom,
this weekend our host and her roommate invited us to join them while making strawberry marmelade. Look how many strawberries we had bought. They looked very delicious. First we washed them in a bowl of water. Then we cut them and took of the leafs. Later we put them in a cooking pot. And then put in special sugar. Just a few minutes boiling and the marmelade was ready to be put in jam jars. See how much jars we filled? We were allowed to taste a bit. Yummie! I'm looking forward to next breakfast. I wanna eat that much Hugs |

Hi
as our host is still in hospital Monday to Friday her roommate offered to take us with her to the Island Mainau in the Lake Konstance. She was very excited to use hosts camera but unfortunately most of the pictures aren't showable. A view on the lake Konstance. A fountain in a little pond. ehm, thats all of the good pictures. Maybe our host can take us there again once she left hospital? Hugs BamBam |

Hi
as promised Biggi took us for a walk in the sorrounding area of the hospital. We found a nice garden area with nice yellow flowers Then Lavender Bear smelled a familiar scent and found: LAVENDER! Some nice little white bush roses Then we found climbing roses. As we wanted to sniff we climbed up there After that we took a break on a bench and I took a sunbath on a big leaf Before we had to go back, we climbed on lots of branches to get a better view. Hugs BamBam |
