My first post!  This is exciting.

Today Mummy and me went out in the garden and she took some pictures of me.  In one of them I'm resting in the shade of the Bonzai Tree, and in the other I'm enjoying the sunshine amongst the flowers.

Then Mummy and me went back inside, so she could take a picture of me for my profile picture.  My friend Snoopy saw what was going on and decided to join me while Mummy took pictures.  :)

I'm looking forward to seeing more places and writing more posts!

Mummy and I were going to go in to town today.  But because Mummy has hurt her shoulder, she can't drive at the minute, so instead we've been having fun at home.

Snoopy and me have been having fun playing today.  Snoopy has a fun cat stand to play on, so we were both playing on that today.  It was fun!

Today Mummy and I went for a walk to see Hadrian's Wall.  It was built more than 1800 years ago!  Mummy said that the Romans built it to keep the Scots out of England.  Apparently they used to fight a lot, so the Romans built a wall that went from one end of England (Newcastle) to the other end (Carlisle).  When it was built it was more than 70 miles long!

We just went to see a small part of the wall, or what's left of it.  Over the years a lot of locals took the bricks from the wall to build their own houses, until it became a National Heritage site.

It was really cool seeing a part of it.  It's so big!  Can you see me in the second picture?  I'm there - I'm just so small!!

I have some exciting news!  I will be going on my first travel in only a few days.  Not only that - but I already have plans for a second trip!  I'm very excited and can't wait!

I also have a new brother, Hamie.  Mummy rescued him from the toy orphanage today.  We're now waiting for an ID for him, and then he can start his travels as well.

I can't wait until I start my travels next week!

I was very excited when I woke up this morning - today is the day I start my first trip!

First I wrote a short 'thank you' note to my host Shilo.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/ToyVoyagers/P10904492309x400.jpg

Then I made sure that Hamie hadn't eaten any of the sweets that I had bought Shilo as a gift.
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/ToyVoyagers/P1090453400x300.jpg

It was then time to say bye to my little brother - I will miss him, but I'm looking forward to exploring and making lots of new friends.  And who knows, maybe he will meet some of the same TVs that I do!
http://i1069.photobucket.com/albums/u474/Snamoen/ToyVoyagers/P1090452300x400.jpg

And now... time for me to leave and be on my way to Germany!

Hello Mum.

Today I arrived at Bochum, Germany. Host mum took my envelope into the living room and laid it onto the table. I could hear voices from outside the envelope and was very curious who would there.  Then the envelope was opened and the first thing I could see was the friendly face from snowball. After that I could also see Freddi and Milk Chocolate.

Hi Mum.

Today the weather was so good, that Snowball went with us to the Kemnader Lake, to play miniature golf.

The club was is really heavy, but I am strong. So I made it to hit the ball.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3461600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3462450x600.jpg

I hope the ball will roll into the hole

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3457600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3458600x450.jpg

Here the ball had to roll around the curve

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3459600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3460600x450.jpg

The different obstacles were funny and it made a lot of fun to play on them.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3465600x450.jpg

In the evening we played a game named Talisman. It is a very easy game, because you only have to roll a dice and do what was standing onto the board.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3493600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3474600x450.jpg

When you have bad luck, your character could turn into a frog. I like these frogs, they look funny.  ;)

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3481600x450.jpg

Yeah I’ve won the game. I am so happy.  :D

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Minigolf%20und%20Spieleabend/DSCN3492600x450.jpg

Now it is time, to go to bed.

Good morning Mum!

Today Snowball went with us to Gelsenkirchen, to visit the Zoom. The Zoom is a giant zoo with a lot of interesting animals.

When we entered the zoo, we had to choose which way to go first. We could choose between the Africa world, the Asian world and the Canadian world. We decided to visit the Asian world first.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3776450x600.jpg

Here we saw the camels. Can you see the white one?

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3516600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3515600x450.jpg

These turtles were really cute

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3537600x450.jpg

Here we are playing in is a small hut, that was built on the water in front of the orangutan compound.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3500600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3501600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3502450x600.jpg

These monkeys could climb very well. It made fun watching them

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3566600x450.jpg

This is a wonderful old hand truck

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3508600x450.jpg

We took a break before we went to the African world

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3504600x450.jpg

This gorilla is sitting in front of the entrance to the African world.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3774600x450.jpg

Mum I saw giant cows. They were called watusi cows. Even the baby is bigger than me. :)

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3573600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3578600x450.jpg

These hedgehogs look a little bit dangerous. They had really long stings

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3608600x450.jpg

Wow the throat of these giraffe is so long.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3636600x450.jpg

These are funny birds, but I don’t know their name.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3611600x450.jpg

Here you can see two African huts. Sadly we couldn’t go inside

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3568600x450.jpg

This is the baboon compound. We could see a lot of baby’s here.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3659600x450.jpg

While all the other suricates were sleeping, this one was watching over them

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3674600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3677600x450.jpg

This monkey had a very colorful face

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3699600x450.jpg

These lemurs were really cool. They were running around on a small island here. I tried to touch them, but they were to fast.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3707600x450.jpg

Before we went on to the Canadian world, we took another short break

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3655450x600.jpg

Now we are entering Alaska

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3779600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3725600x450.jpg

Here you could see an old school bus that was standing around here.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3752450x600.jpg

Oh we have to be careful, because of the polar bears :)

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3764600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3767600x450.jpg

We meet a really friendly bear here and took a photo with him

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3769450x600.jpg

Wow reindeers, didn’t they help Santa Clause to bring the Christmas presents? :)

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3756600x450.jpg

Milk Chocolate and I were playing around in a small wood hut.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Zoom/DSCN3724600x450.jpg

It was a wonderful day and we had a lot of fun.

See you soon

Hello Mum!

Today a package arrived. Shilo brought it to us into the living room. We were very curious who will be inside.
I took a scissor to open it. When the box was opened, we saw a little rabbit. His name is Hoppsi and he is coming from Berlin.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3781600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3785600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3786600x450.jpg

We made a poster to welcome him here in Bochum.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3789600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3791600x450.jpg

Hoppsi brought a suitcase with him and we were really curious what was inside, so he showed us.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3794600x450.jpg

After that Shilo brought an interesting looking plushy ball to us.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3796600x450.jpg

We were wondering what it will be, and when Hoppsi touched it….

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3799600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3798600x450.jpg

It opens and we could see a cute little hedgehog

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3800600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3801600x450.jpg

His name is Knöpfchen and soon he will be a TV too.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3802600x450.jpg

Now that we were all together, we took a group picture.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3803600x450.jpg

After that Snowball took out a game called “rabbit and hedgehog”. Because we were two hedgehogs and one rabbit, she thought it could be fun to play it.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3921600x450.jpg

First we had to arrange the game

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3879450x600.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3881450x600.jpg

Knöpfchen was the one who started the game

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3883600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3882600x450.jpg

When it was my turn I gave 28 carrots, so I could go 7 fields

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3891600x450.jpg

At the moment I am on the third place

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3898600x450.jpg

Now I had the chance to give away ten carrots

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3909600x450.jpg

Oh yeah I had won the game. :)

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Hoppsi%20und%20Hase%20und%20Igel/DSCN3912600x450.jpg

It made so much fun playing the game.

Hello Mum!

Today we went to friends from my host parents. They also joint Toyvoyagers and we wanted to meet their TVs and watch the Eurovision Song contest together.
We meet Imodra Dragon, her tree kids Ranja, Spikey and Little, Cosy and Zeitgeist.
Here you could see a group picture from us all together.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Grand%20Prix%202012/DSCN3822450x600.jpg

Before the Song Contest started, we made some flags for all the countries that were participating in the contest.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Grand%20Prix%202012/DSCN3813600x450.jpg

When we were finished, we all sat down to watch the contest.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Grand%20Prix%202012/DSCN3833600x450.jpg

Of course I am for the Candidate from the UK

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Grand%20Prix%202012/DSCN3843600x450.jpg

We made our own ranking for the countries. At the moment I think the Swedish candidate was the best.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Grand%20Prix%202012/DSCN3825450x600.jpg

Look I had my own hot dog, while we watched the contest. It was really yummy

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Grand%20Prix%202012/img2450x600.jpg

The Swedish candidate won the contest and the candidate from the UK only made the 25th place

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Grand%20Prix%202012/DSCN3863600x450.jpg

It was a funny evening, especially the meeting with the other TVs.

Hi Mum!

Today was very exciting, because we went to the Movie Park in Bottrop. It is a very cool amusement park.
Here I am in front of the entrance.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN3933600x450.jpg

From the top of the Ferris wheel you could see the complete park. It is a great view.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN3950600x450.jpg

Everywhere on the streets we saw cool cars. Some of them were really old and others looked like they came right out of an action movie.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN3986600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN3987600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN4004600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN4005600x450.jpg

It was so hot today, that we made a short break and bought a slush. It was really tasty.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN3969600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN3977600x450.jpg

The best rollercoaster in the park is the “Van Helsings Factory rollercoaster” Everything is dark while you ride on it.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN3994600x450.jpg

I liked the “Avatar Air glider”. You could lay there and relax while you fly around

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Moviepark/DSCN4057600x450.jpg

From here I had a great view over the Santa Monica Pier

Before we went home, we watched another Show called “Back to the movies”. At this show they played a lot of cool film themes and danced to them.

It was a great day. And Shilo told us, that when the weather is good, we will visit the “Heidepark” in Soltau in two weeks. I hope we could get there.

See you soon

Good morning Mum!

Oh mum, today was a great day. Shilo took us to Cologne to visit the Chocolate Museum. And inside the museum is a chocolate factory.

First we went into the tropic house. There I found a coffee plant, but it has no fruits at the moment.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4067450x600.jpg

Here we could see the different ingredients from chocolate

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4092600x450.jpg

Then we went into the section with the chocolate factory.
In the Cocoa mill the pre-crushed cocoa kernels were milled and trough the frictional heat the cocoa butter melts and the cocoa mass leaves the mill in a liquid state.
This is a giant mixer. Chocolate essentially consists of cocoa paste, cocoa butter, sugar, milk or cream powder, and flavourings such as vanilla. All components were filled into the mixer and thoroughly blended.  After that the paste was lead to the rolling mill.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4152600x450.jpg

The luke-warm chocolate paste is passed into the preheated moulds. The moulds then pass over a vibrating table so that the chocolate paste is evently distributed and any air bubbles can escape. When the chocolate was cooled down this crane took it, so it could be wrapped up. This chocolate was given as a gift for every visitor at the entrance.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4122600x450.jpg

This is a giant chocolate fountain. It looks so yummy and I hope I can taste a little bit of this chocolate.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4131600x450.jpg

Oh great, host dad was so nice and shared his chocolate with me

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4155600x450.jpg

Look mum; here you could see how different chocolate sculptures were made out of different shapes.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4180600x450.jpg

The best thing in the factory beside the chocolate fountain is that you could design your own chocolate. You could choose which kind of chocolate you want and up to 4 ingredients which came into it. We choose white chocolate with cranberries, almond and crisps.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4185450x600.jpg

Here we could see how the self-designed chocolate was made.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4197600x450.jpg

After that we needed a little break

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4259600x450.jpg

Wow this is the in Germany very famous Milka cow

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4253600x450.jpg

Here we could see how the packaging of some chocolate products changed through the years

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4248450x600.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4249600x450.jpg

I couldn’t imagine how long it will take to eat this huge chocolate ball

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4264600x450.jpg

On our way back to the factory we saw some old commercials

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4283450x600.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4284600x450.jpg

Great we got our self-made chocolate. It looks really yummy.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Chocomuseum/DSCN4300600x450.jpg

It was a wonderful day. We had so much fun and we learned a lot about the history of chocolate and how it was made.

Love you Mum

Hey Mum.

Today we bought a lot of strawberries for us. It was a giant bowl.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Erdbeeren/DSCN4398600x450.jpg

Hmm they smelled very good

And they tasted even better :)

Hey Mum,

I am very happy, because today we went to Soltau to visit the Heidepark.
When we stood up in the morning we weren’t sure if the weather would be good, but we were so excited that we started our journey anyway.

After three hours in the car we are finally at the entrance of the park. I am so happy that we are here now and the weather looks good.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4394600x450.jpg

First we went on this small Ferris wheel, to have a look over the western land

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4384600x450.jpg

From so high above I found this cute vultures

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4386600x450.jpg

Behind me you could see the roller coaster Big Loop. First I was a little bit scared because of the two loops, but then I had a lot of fun riding on it.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4314600x450.jpg

After the ride we went on the Panorama tower. From so high above we had a great view over the whole park.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4334600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4335600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4352600x450.jpg

This roller coaster is called Colossos. It is the biggest wood coaster in the world. Host dad wanted to have a ride on it, but we were too scared of the height.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4327600x450.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4326600x450.jpg

We took a little break on this cool stone turtles in front of the Limit Roller coaster. While we sat here and enjoyed the sun, we were visited by a goose and here kids.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4361600x450.jpg

This free-fall tower is called scream. Host dad went on it, but for me it was too high. I went on this free-fall tower called screamie. It is the small brother of scream.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4371450x600.jpg

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4373450x600.jpg

Next to screamie I saw this cool looking tower.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4372450x600.jpg

Riding this water slide made a lot of fun.

http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w503/Jasmin_Ogermann/Heidepark/DSCN4387600x450.jpg

Now the park is closing and we were driving home. The day was really great, I love amusement parks.

Hi Mummy,
I arrived at my next host's home today. I am now in Remscheid, also in North Rhine-Westphalia, not too far from Bochum.

My new host is Katja and I was given a warm welcome by her and some more ToyVoyagers. There are Leopoldi, Rishu, Orkku Orava and Alberto.

http://farm6.staticflickr.com/5115/7408504290_5cd9305cc9_o.jpg

I brought a funny postcard with me and Haribo Gummibaerchen, a typical German delicacy :D Thanks to Shilo!

My host will change house next month, she already has the keys of the new apartment. In the afternoon we went there to measure the rooms. It is only a five-minutes-walk apart from my current home.

We started in the kitchen.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8149/7408505032_f33eb6c776_o.jpg

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8146/7408504700_f7cdb26061_o.jpg

It is a very large kitchen, nearly 20 square metres!

This will be the living room.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8147/7408504866_7e84c81fd9_o.jpg

Those houses on the right side were probably built in early 20th century. They are much more pretty at the front side :)

This house here was built in early 1940's years.

There is a lawn with trees in the backyard.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8001/7408505478_e2a5aef5c1_o.jpg

From the kitchen you can look at those pretty houses and also to a park.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8150/7408505690_b6a49baa1b_o.jpg

I hope I will stay long enough to help moving house.

Good Morning Mum.

Today Shilo told me, that I will travel on to my next host the next days. Because of that Snowball had the idea to have a Tea party before I leave. We planned to make a cake for the party.

Hello Mum.

Today I was leaving Bochum and will travel on to my next host in Remscheid. Shilo told me, that it will be a short trip, because Remscheid isn’t far away.
Before I leave, I had to say good bye to my new friends. I will miss them all, but hopefully we will meet again somewhere. I wish them a lot of fun on their journeys.
The others hugged me, before I went into my envelope.

Hi Mummy,
today we a trip to the neighbour city Wuppetal.

One of the city’s greatest attractions is the suspended monorail (Schwebebahn), which was established in 1901. The tracks are 8 m above the streets and 12 m above the Wupper River. Here you can see one of 20 stations along the 13,3 km long route.

Hi Mummy,
we took a walk today in the district Hasten, one of the historic districts- You can find lots of lovely old traditional houses here. This one is a beautiful one, although not a traditional "Bergisches" house.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7275/7719554076_ae6d000a1d_o.jpg

A museum is situated in this Patrician villa, built in late 18th century.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8432/7719554414_f3e7a391c4_o.jpg

The "German Tool Museum" is situated on the the same estate.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8293/7719554844_83b14f809a_o.jpg

Hasten is situated close to woodland, you can already see it.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8294/7719555168_428b8871fb_o.jpg

These houses, covered with slate and with green shutters, are traditional houses.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7273/7719555710_765dac76d1_o.jpg

We found this large machine for wood processing.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8427/7719578892_374e1a6719_o.jpg

Katja showed us the cemetary when we went back home.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8289/7719579916_e5b0a1f9f7_o.jpg

We reached the city centre after walking uphill for some time. In the background the tower of the city hall is visible.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8432/7719556556_f7454b7aa9_o.jpg

And here you can see where I am living at the moment. My host moved to the house on the right side last month, to the second floor. From inside we have a good view to the park opposite of the houses. Even in the backyard there is a large lawn with old trees.

One of the  main streets in the city centre. If you followed this road downhill, you would soon arrive at my current home.

Hi Mummy,
today we took a walk in the outskirts of Remscheid to have a look at Muengsten Bridge, Germany's highest railway bridge.

We started our trip in a rural district in the West of Remscheid.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8297/7773406162_0ec14699b6_o.jpg

We followed River Wupper, which is marking the border between Remscheid and the neighbour city Solingen here.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7267/7773406372_2eaff536e6_o.jpg

There are some rocks with engraved board games.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8430/7773343714_55552ddc97_o.jpg

The path led us uphill and downhill again ...

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8295/7773406652_83537ffda1_o.jpg

We found Himalayan Balsam. Those flowers are looking good, but smelling a bit strange.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8429/7773406870_d79cbe109b_o.jpg

Muengsten Bridge came into sight than, overspanning the valley of River Wupper.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7250/7773407188_6d250d18c0_o.jpg

It is really impressing! The bridge is about 480 m wide, 107 m high and was finished in late 19th century. There are extensive repair works going on there at the moment, there aren't any trains crossing the bridge at t he moment.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8431/7773407464_a3f0185f3b_o.jpg

After walking straight uphill for some time we reached the bridge once more, but this time at its abutment!

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7266/7773407886_5e51d37549_o.jpg

On our way back home we had to buy a few things.

Hi Mummy,
another day with fantastic weather :)

We went outside to take a nice walk in the lovely rural outskirts.

I met sheep here, Katja called them "White sock" and "Brown sock".  (She is knitting socks like a maniac :D )

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8298/7773408066_525f9e4514_o.jpg

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8429/7773408374_bcf634a2d4_o.jpg

We were opposite of the city centre than. Here you can see the district Hasten ...

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8425/7773408604_8882e35257_o.jpg

... and here - in the background - the city centre with the water tower and the city hall tower.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8301/7773408806_02b5365a04_o.jpg

I met those nice girls, we talked a bit about a cow's life in Germany and Scotland.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8431/7773409032_0db2911951_o.jpg

This is a special school where you can learn a lot about nature, the forest, healthy food and so on.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8423/7773409546_7ec22cd40b_o.jpg

We also walked through a forest.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8448/7773409770_2d0f0c2487_o.jpg

Katja showed us this water wheel, reminder of an historic industrial site. Here in this region tools are produced since middle ages.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8286/7773409952_a4197e782c_o.jpg

The historic industrial site is part of a museum.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8306/7773410134_c289660c5f_o.jpg

The coat of arms of Remscheid is incorporated into the fence.

Hi Mummy,
today we started to paint in the wallks in the new apartement. First we had to protect the floor.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8006/7481174360_b464bcaa9d_o.jpg

Soon we finished the bedroom.

Hi Mummy,
there isn't everything ready in the new apartement, but we are working hard :)

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8293/7635928986_7cb244efa1_o.jpg

There are still some tools and a workbench.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7118/7635929948_13e381984c_o.jpg

Finally the weather became better after more than two weeks with heavy rain, so we decided to take a walk in the outskirts.

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8423/7635930414_3211885d86_o.jpg

The municipal area of Remscheid is surrounded by forests and valley, really lovely.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7139/7635933098_7134b04a2e_o.jpg

http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8006/7635935846_b04abb1fa4_o.jpg

We found hogweed in the valley. Katja told us that it came originally from the Causasian Mountains. It is quite dangerous for people because its sap can damage your skin.

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7136/7635938114_70a277b214_o.jpg

The markings on the tree on the left side are hiking trails. The encircled "R" stands for a hiking path which is following the borders of the municipal area of Remscheid, about 65 km long.

Hi Mummy,
it is incredibly hot today. We are spending the day inside. We helped our host to  sew curtains for the bedroom.

It was quite easy and soon they were finished.

Hi Mum,

I arrived in Sülfeld. A nice bunny- called Dicker Kumpel – gave me a warm welcome.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0746.jpg

Then he introduced me to the other guests here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0747.jpg

I showed the nice postcard that olgamaus created.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/G_0748.jpg

Later we visited Dicker Kumpels Grandma. She had birthday this week – and this is one of her presents.

Hello Mum,

The weather was awful outside, so we decided to explore the house. A horse must have lived here in the Past.

I tried to call you, but you were not at home.

Then I played the trumpet or whatever this was.

Hello Mum,

On Sunday we made a walk through Sülfeld. This is the old church.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Rike/G_0806.jpg

On the other side of the street is the old pharmacy.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Rike/G_0807.jpg

Here you can see the emblem of Sülfeld.

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Rike/G_0815.jpg

Do you understand the words on this big rock?

http://i1201.photobucket.com/albums/bb347/HoBi666/Rike/G_0827.jpg

Behind the rock there is the old school.

Hello Mum,

We went to Poland – and I had a look out of the window of the plane.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0006.jpg

We left Warsaw and I saw this funny building.

Then we went to a region called Masuria. We took a trip on a river called Krutynia.

Later we stopped at another place and had a great view.

Today we visited a nice church – called Mariä Verkündigung in Swieta Lipka.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0077.jpg

We had a nice time in the church and listened to an organ recital.

Can you see this nice Castle – unfortunately it was a ruin.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0103.jpg

We had a nice stop at the port of Mikolajki.

Near to our hotel I had fun in this boat.

Hello Mum,

We took a boat trip today – but it was a special trip. On this water channel the ships drove some parts without water – this was strange. On this postcard you can see how it works.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0201.jpg

This was our boat.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0140.jpg

This photo should show the nice nature – but maybe it was more important to see me!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0144.jpg

Behind me you can see our way over the hill.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0147.jpg

Our ship was on a wagon like this behind me.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0155.jpg

Here you see the moment, when we went onto the wagon.

Hello Mum,

We started our day with another big red building. But this one was bigger. It is the Castle Malbork/Marienburg.  It is the biggest medieval fortress in Europe.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0210.jpg

It looked great!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0215.jpg

We went into the Castle and saw this nice altar or whatever it should be – I am not that good in religious things.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0220.jpg

This was another nice room.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0324.jpg

In the castle courtyard we met these 4 guys. They were important for the Malbork!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0227.jpg

After our visit we went to the other side of the river and had a wonderful view.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0230.jpg

Enough for the Castle – it was time for the seaside. We went to a place called Sopot. They have a very long pier there.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0241.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0246.jpg

Maybe I will be a pirate someday?

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0251.jpg

It was a hot and sunny day – so the people spent their time on the beach and in the water.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0257.jpg

Next to the beach there was a really big hotel - I would have loved to stay in it.

Hello Mum,

Normally we had good weather here in Poland – but today it was not so good – fortunately we had no rain. Our city for today was Gdansk. Behind me you can see one of the town's landmark - the medieval port crane.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0263.jpg

We had a nice view over the river.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0267.jpg

There were many gates in Gdansk – I liked this one.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0273.jpg

This was inside the old city – this house is called  Artus' Court with the Neptune Fountain in front of it.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0283.jpg

Next to it there was the town hall.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0284.jpg

Our lunch was very delicious.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0288.jpg

Back on the road I saw another Gate.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/P_0290.jpg

And this was the armory.

It was our last day in Poland – and we spent in in Gdansk again. Because the weather was much better, I wanted to have new photos of course.

Hello Mum,

We are back in Germany. Today it was the day of the party. Dicker Kumpel came and invited Dottie Mouse for a party with dotted animals.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0070.jpg

Unfortunately only Murph and Clairchen had dots and were allowed to join Dottie Mouse.

Some other guys with dots came for Dottie.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0073.jpg

We others were a little sad, because we wanted to have a party, too. We went onto the back of Long Hippo and had a look.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0100.jpg

Back on our chair Dicker Kumpel had an idea.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0104.jpg

He found some stickers with dots.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0106.jpg

I look like a dotted cow now.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0115.jpg

We were all ready.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0118.jpg

We went to Dottie and asked her, if we were allowed to join her party.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0122.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0120.jpg

She said yes – and we gave her a Thank-You-hug.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0124.jpg

Fortunately RikeH had more things to eat, so we all started our party together.

Later Dicker Kumpel and Murph had a surprise for us – a wonderful firework.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0136.jpg

We decided that Murph started it – together with the help of a part of HoBi.

Well – I am in the home of Dicker Kumpel – and he knows how to party. We drank a delicious cocktail.

Hello Mum,

We went to Usedom this week. Behind me you can see our home here.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0074.jpg

We stayed in a town called Heringsdorf. They have a long pier there – and we walked on it. We had a nice view from the pier.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0004.jpg

Look – this was a part of the pier.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0009.jpg

There were many people on the beach.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0015.jpg

Later I listened to music with many other people.

Hello Mum,

Today we went to another little town called Ahlbeck. They have a very old clock there.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0027.jpg

And another pier.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0029.jpg

I loved this place – far behind me you can see the pier of Heringsdorf.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0034.jpg

We went to the end of the pier and had this nice view.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0038.jpg

It was a little windy.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0043.jpg

We found a nice place at the beach.

Hi Mum,

We had bad weather – and I hung around in the room. The apartment had the name Provence.

Hi Mum,

It was time to leave Usedom. We found a really big beach chair.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0075.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0076.jpg

We drove over Usedom and found this great place. We were able to see 7 lakes from a tower.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0079.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0083.jpg

Then we stopped at this wonderful mill.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0088.jpg

We took a rest next to the mill.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0090.jpg

Then we went to another mill – it was nice, too.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0096.jpg

We had lunch in this castle.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0100.jpg

I met this nice angle in the park.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/Used_0104.jpg

Our last stop was at a small harbor.

Hi Mum,

The weather was nice outside so we took a walk around Sülfeld. Behind me you can see the tree that Dicker Kumpel loves most.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0346.jpg

Look – we had sunshine – and talked a lot on this bench.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0349.jpg

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0350.jpg

The trees looked so wonderful and colorful.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0352.jpg

I thought about taking a bath – but didn’t do it, because the water was not so clean.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/R_0360.jpg

Back home we walked through this forest.

Hello Mum,

Christmas is coming – and today I helped decorating the Christmas tree. We started with the Christmas baubles.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/V_0116.jpg

These two baubles were so funny!

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/V_0115.jpg

This is a very special bird for RikeH, because it belonged to her Grandma.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/V_0128.jpg

We had many more decorations for the tree.

Hello Mum,

Today it was Christmas and I talked to Snowy the snowman and Rudi the reindeer. Santa was very busy this Christmas – so he sent his two best friends to us.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/V_0216.jpg

I sang a song. Then I performed a poem.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/V_0221.jpg

I must have been great – and I received something nice from Snowy and Rudi.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/V_0222.jpg

It was wonderful.

http://i649.photobucket.com/albums/uu215/RikeH_2009/A%2012a/V_0226.jpg

I wish you a wonderful Christmas and hope to hear from you soon!

I made it to Oklahoma just in time to take a road trip to Dallas Texas. I ate at a place called the Tilted Kilt. A couple of the pretty waitresses took photos with me. I even tried the squid!

I went to the Tesla Tea Part in Tulsa Oklahoma. It was a small Steampunk event at the Jazz Hall of Fame. They haven't finished the place so there wasn't a lot there... but it was still a good time! I got to meet a bunch of Easter Bunnies and other people.

I went to Planet Comicon in Kansas City MO. It was a fun convention. We actually got stuck 5 hours from Oklahoma City because the car died. The car had to be junked completely. We rented a car home and then got a new car. It was very frustrating, but at the same time, we have more comfortable car to travel in now!

My host was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana, which is where Cyphacon was held. It was really nice seeing my hosts home town. It was a beautiful place! The food was fantastic! We ate at a 24hr cafe on the L'auberge du Lac, casino river boat. I tried the etouffee and gumbo! The convention was also a lot of fun. It was a small convention with very friendly people.

On the way home, we stopped in Baton Rouge to eat at VooDoo BBQ & Grill. Amie photo bombed me... funny bear! I tried the gumbo but I really didn't like this one. The roux (stew base) was too thick. I loved the gumbo in Lake Charles way better. However, everything else was good (I had some sausage off my host's plate).

WARNING! This post is about the devastation we've experienced in Oklahoma recently.

On May 20th, there was a devastating tornado that destroyed schools and homes in Moore, Oklahoma. That tornado kill 24 people, which included 9 children, and many more where injured. Teachers put themselves on top of children to save their lives. My hosts co-worker Jeff was the first person to get to Briarwood Elementary, which was completely destroyed by the tornado. He saved several children and teachers and his daughter was thankfully among the rescued! Jeff broke both his arms saving lives that day. It was a horrible experience for a a lot of people... it was devastating. Thankfully, myself and my host and her loved are alive and well! My host and I cried a lot that day, as it was a very emotional experience.

Jeff on the news!

Interactive images that shows the amount of damage the tornado caused.

On May 23rd, the first funerals were held where parents buried their children. If this wasn't enough, the Westboro Baptist Church tried to protest the funeral. They are a radical religious group that is pretty awful. They said that God hates us and killed the children in the storm because we are all sinners. It was a very hateful thing to do and they were arrested - it's illegal to protest funerals in Oklahoma.

And then there was yesterday - May 31st. We were in the middle of a tornado. It was a powerful storm and it was very scarey given what had just happened a week ago. The tornado was a lot bigger than the one last week. We were in the middle of the circulation, but we all came out alive and well! When the storm first hit, it was a lot of rain and high winds. Then the hail started to beat at the walls. The sirens were sounding outside for about an hour. It seemed like the hail and rain wouldn't stop. We were huddled in the bathroom (the bathtub is the safest place in the house) and we listened to the news telling us about the tornados that were coming for us. When the power went out and the internet dropped, and the cell reception died... we could no longer know where the tornadoes were. It was like being blind and hunted. It was frightening.

100,000 people, including us, were without power. We lost power around 6pm and then didn't get it back until today around 1:30pm. Cell phone reception is still down. Luckily, the fridge and freezer kept cold and our food didn't spoil. This afternoon, we learned that 5 people died and more than 70 people are in the hospital. Luckily, the tornado that was coming right at us, decided to "hop" over our apartment complex and went south of us!

Out here in the states, we have Storm Chasers, which are people who make a living chasing storms and tornados. They provide valuable information during the storms that helps to saves lives. One of the crews got too close to a multi-vortex tornado and the vehicle was destroyed. Two of them died (corrected info). And they got some amazing video of the tornado that passed through El Reno, OK - yes there were several tornadoes yesterday.

Here's the video!

Here's a photo of the destroyed vehicle.

Aside from the tornados and hail, there was lots of flooding. We braved the rain and hail around midnight and ate at a diner called IHOP where they had power. We spent some time in comfort with a friend, and it was a nice way to relax after an intense evening.

And now for the pictures!! Look closely, because there are photos of downed power lines that are live. We had to be very careful there taking photos. I couldn't be in every photo, but I thought you might like to see the photos anyway!
