Today mommy has said to me to go out for a walk and… visit enchanted places! We have a book where some itineraries are marked on a map. Where do we go? Let me see…
It is quite far from home so we go by skating!!!! As I’m too small and we haven’t found skates for me, I will go in mommy’s bag. Our first stop is Estació de França, a train station named so because the trains go to France from there, built in 1929 where it was another station, La Riba, built in the previous century. When La Riba was built, many children started to disappear in the zone and people talk about they were carried away by violence by El Hombre del Saco (the boogeyman) to get their fat to grease the trains. It’s scary, isn’t it? Our second stop is the Government Representation building. In 1907, the civil government Ángel Ossorio Gallardo ask a seer to help him against terrorism in the city. Our next and last stop is l’Església de Sant Miquel del Port, a church situated in a place that was a little island until the XVII century named as Illa de Maians. People say that in that island you were able to see the souls of priests drowned officiating to the souls of fishermen and sailors who died in the sea. Also, they say that sea demons lived there. -Can we go in, mommy? -No, Zero, the church is closed. During our walk, we have seen a parade!!!! It’s really funny!!!! Lalalalala!!!!!! It’s late and we have a long way home. Let’s take a little rest and come back. See you!!!!! Byeee!!! |

Look at mee!!!! Yuuuuuhuuuuu!!!!!! Wow! Look at that mirador! I want to go there! To arrive there we have to cross the bridge. Look at me, I’m over the water!!! Ughh!! It’s difficult to climb these rocks… -Zero, why don’t you use the stairs? It’s easier… -Yes, mommy, but it’s not fun… I’m on the top!!!!!!! I can see the entire park!!!!!!! -Mommy, do we come back here? -Yes. -And, will I be able to take a friend with me? -Of course! |

Today we made “napolitanas de chocolate” (pain au chocolat). I will explain you how to make them.
First, we need all the ingredients. Puff-paste, sugar, refined corn meal, milk, 3 eggs and dark chocolate. We have to measure the exact quantity of each ingredient. Which is my weight? 100gr of sugar 40gr of refined corn meal 1/2l of milk And 100gr of dark chocolate. Can I eat a bit? We add the sugar and the meal in a bowl. We add the 3 eggs. We add the milk and the chocolate, mix them and put on the fire until it grow thick moving steadily. We get a chocolate cream. When it grows thick, we let get cool. While, we cut the puff-paste. When the chocolate is cool, we put in a pastry bag and fill the puff-paste in the middle. We involve the chocolate, close the puff-paste with a wet with egg brush, turn upside down and cut. We paint them with egg and we put them in the oven at 190ºC, ~12 min. TACHÁÁÁÁÁN!!!!! |

Here we are in front of the library We are a bit hungry so we stop in the bar of the university to have a little breakfast. As we are friends, we share our drinks: coffee with milk and chocolate with milk. The university is in the center of the city, so we have walked through Les Rambles!!! It’s a very known street and it’s always full of tourist!!! And this is La font de Canaletes, is where people celebrate when Barça wins important matches. And, finally, this is a Hard Rock Café. SiniS Posted Jun 26, 2012, 3:49 pm |
Hello all of you!!!
Ape Apina has arrived here at time to celebrate “Sant Joan”, the night of 23rd to 24th of June, the shortest night of the year. Here in Barcelona is tradition to eat “coques”, a tipe of cake, and to go to the beach to throw fireworks and to light bonfires. People say that if you take a bath in the sea in that night and you jump over the bonfire you will be lucky the rest of the year. We are too young to go to the beach at night, take a bath and jump over bonfires, so we don’t do nothing of that, but we are capable to do some “coques”! Ape Apina, TezTez and I are ready to do a chocolate “coca”. And all starts with a natural yoghurt. We put the yoghurt in a bowl and clean the pot to use to measure the other ingredients. We add 3 eggs and a measure of sunflower oil and we mix them with the electric mixer. Now we add 2 measures of flour, 1 yeast packet, 2 measures of sugar, 1 measure of cocoa and a bit of salt and mix them well. We put the mix in a baking tin and we bake it in the oven at 180ºC during 40-45 min. Ooohhh!!! It has broken a little when we remove it from the baking tin… But it seems yummy!!! |
SiniS Posted Jun 26, 2012, 10:59 pm |
Hello again!
You can see that our first “coca” has failed a bit. So, we will try another one This is a gift for mommy’s dad (my grandpa? ) because this “coca” is his favourite. We’re gonna make a “coca de llardons” (crackling pancake). I will tell you how!! We need a sheet of puff-paste, we stend it a bit and make it bigger. Then, we cut it in two. We will use the big part as the base and we have to prick it with a fork. TezTez has do that Now we add the crackles. Ape Apina!!! Don’t eat them yet!!! We add sugar… …cover it with the other part… ... prick with the fork again… … and paint it with egg. Now we add more sugar and some pine-nut. Bake in the oven at 200ºC during 10-15min. Et voilà!!! This one has been better!!! I hope my grandpa likes this |
SiniS Posted Jun 27, 2012, 1:08 pm |

SiniS Posted Jun 27, 2012, 2:43 pm |
Tonight is the night!!!
We’re going to celebrate “Sant Joan”!! As I tell you, we’re so young to go to the beach, so we are celebrating at home. Well, at “hostdad for a day” home (mommy’s boyfriend). We have to take the train. A-Ooohh!! It’s dark outside!! Z-Yes, we can’t see anything!!!! We have arrived at home and prepared the dinner. We are having some pizzas and something else (and our “coca” as dessert!!) and we will do a film marathon. We will see “Spiderman 1, 2 and 3”. -¡Guys! ¡¡The film starts!! Z-Wait!!! We have to prepare ourselves!!! Tachán!!!! We did disguises from the characters of the movie!!!! This are the crafts we did this morning!! I’m the spider that bites Peter Parker (Ape Apina) and then, he become Spiderman (TezTez)!!!! Z-Now we are ready!! T-The movie can start!!! SiniS Posted Jun 28, 2012, 12:37 pm |
Z-Good morning boys!!!!
A-Hi! Z-I forgot to register you in my guest registration notebook!!! Can you come for a minute? T- I arrived first. Write: TezTez from Austria Z-You check in on 11th June 2012 T-Yes. A-And Ape Apina, from Finland, arrived on 20th June 2012 Z-Ok! Z-You can share the room!!!! You don’t mind, do you? T&A-Nooooo!!!! This will be funnier!!!! |
SiniS Posted Jun 28, 2012, 1:14 pm |
Today I have a surprise to Ape Apina. I will help him with one of his life missions!!! And, at the same time, I will get a part of one of my life missions too!!! He wants to learn how to say “banana” in different languages, so I will teach him. TezTez is invited too
Z-Doing a summary, we can find two kinds of bananas: American bananas and Canarian bananas. The difference between both is the way how it mature. American bananas are not so sweet, so people use it to cook. Canarian bananas are sweeter and are better for desserts. Z-So, American bananas or bananas, have the same name in spanish and in catalan (the language that people talks in Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia). But with Canarian bananas (from Canary Islands), the name change: in spanish is “plátano” and in catalan is “plàtan”. |
SiniS Posted Jun 28, 2012, 8:17 pm |
Hello mommy!!!
Today is the second part of the surprise to Ape Apina. We will do a fruit salad (“macedonia” in spanish/catalan) with banana and we will eat it for an afternoon lunch. First we get the juice of the oranges And then, we add different fruits. Ape Apina is happy to add himself the banana Bon appetit!!! Congratulations Ape Apina!!!! You get another part of one life mission!!! |
SiniS Posted Jul 3, 2012, 11:01 pm |
What a boring and sad weekend We went to Gavà because it was the annual local festival, but on Sunday was raining all day!! Can you believe it?? After a week with high temperature (about 30ºC or more), suddenly starts to rain with cold weather!!! We couldn’t go out and the festival was cancelled. But today the sun came out again and we did an “spooky” itinerary!!! We visited some places where something paranormal succeeded. This is the map: Our itinerary is “La Rambla maleïda” (The damned Rambla), so we took the train to the city center, where all started. In the train, we read about the places we went to visit. This is Plaça Catalunya, the city center (although it’s not the geological center). But it’s a comercial knot where some important streets born. La Rambla is one of those important streets I told you and is where our itinerary starts. Do you know that this street was a simple torrent until XIX? In this part of the street was the old gate of “Sant Sever” with its towers called “Canaletes”, wich gave the name to the most famous fountain of the city, “La font de Canaletes”. TezTez and I where here few days ago, but Ape Apina don’t, and, moreover, I didn’t tell the spooky story People say that, in the middle of XIX, there was a “Ghost of Canaletes” who walked around the area. One night, nobody knows why, talked to some girls that were taking water from the fountain with their jugs and they were so terrified that they spent some days in bed. People decided to face the ghost, but it disappeared. Maybe the ghost was a victim of that enchanted waters because, according to an old tradition, who drink water of this fountain fall in love with the city and never can’t depart. In the base of the fountain there’s a plaque where is written: “If you drink water of this ‘font de Canaletes’ you will be a Barcelona lover forever and don’t mind how far you go because you will always come back”. And this is the moment when I fell in love with my beautiful city!!! Then we went to “Carrer Estruc”. “Estruc” comes from “astruc” that at the same time comes from “astròleg” (astrologer) and also was the name of an herb used in medicine. In this street there’s a plaque that explains this and also explains that this street had the name “Astruc Sacanera” at the beginning of XV and there was where “Pedra Escurçonera” (a natural herb, a cure against rage and pricking) was sold. At number 22 of this street is the exactly place where it was sold. We continued until “Portal de l’Àngel”. In the place where is situated this fountain (it seems like “Font de Canaletes”) there was a well where lived a hell being. Maybe this being wasn’t so mischievous… In the middle of XIX, an stranger stole the keys of the city, but he wasn’t able to leave the city because the access points were closed. Thirsty and unknowing the story about that well, he wanted to drink some water, but two pale hands come out from the well and asphyxiated him. The day after, his body and the keys were found next to the well and this was enough to verify that a phantom lived there. We went to the church of Santa Anna. There, at the beginning of XX, two students attend a died mate which had a long beard that obsess one of that students which bet with his friend that he was capable to pull out three hairs of that beard. When he pulled out one, the corpse moved a little. Then, he pulled out another one and the corpse moved again. But when the student pulled out the third hair, the corpse woke up, opened the eyes, took a chandelier and threw it to the student who ran away. The clerk of the church keep that chandelier as a proof, but we didn’t see that because the church was closed Our next stop was in “Carrer de Bertrellans”. In this street was situated the first coffin manufacturer. The marketing of the coffins consist in a card with the name and the address of the manufacturer and a note that said that any client complained about the quality of their coffins. People says that a corpse who was a “client” of the manufacturer of this street, was so uncomfortable in his coffin that woke up and go to the next room where the manufacturer was working and said to him: “Your coffins aren’t worth anything!! What an uncomfortable short time!”. The manufacturer was faint-hearted and since then nobody dares to say that any client complained. We continued our way and we found an interesting thing. Maybe it’s an spooky place but it isn’t in our itinerary. This is the sepulchral roman way discovered during the construction of a building in 1954. We arrived again at La Rambla and at number 107 we found “el palau de la Virreina” (the palace of Vicequeen). This palace was built on XVIII and is where Vicequeen lived before to become a tormented soul. I will explain you later… We went straight on and arrived at “Mercat de la Boqueria”, a very known market where people sell everything. If they don’t sell it, it’s because doesn’t exist! There’s a shop where insects are sold to eat!!! But it was closed This wonderful place keeps an spooky story too. This market was built over the ruins of “convent dels Carmelites Descalços de Sant Josep” (Discalced Carmelite of Saint Joseph Convent). On 15th July, 1835, the friars decided to not celebrate the vigil. The day after, while the friars slept, some voices were singing psalms and woke them up. They run to the church and were able to see some skeletons with monastic customs celebrating the vigil. They followed the skeletons to the cemetery and saw how they went inside their graves. Ten days later the convent was burned. People say that on 15th July you can listen some voices during the night inside the market. This is “el Pla de la Boqueria”. Today is decorated by Joan Miró, a very known painter, but some centuries ago, was the place where dead animals, tripes, intestines… were sold, things that were related with satanism. Our next stop was “el Liceu”, an opera theatre. Its story is sooo long, but I can do a summary. This theatre was built over the ruins of “convent dels Trinitaris Descalços de la Bona Nova”, a burned convent, on 1844 and on 4th april 1847 was opened for the first time. On 1852 there was celebrated the Carnival but a friar shout that they were dancing over sacred land and predicted that it will be burned. This was a reality on 9th april 1861. An old man said that if the liceum was built again, will be burned again, because it was a damned place. Six months later, the liceum was re-built, with water tanks on the roof for if in the future there’s another fire. But one day a very strong storm started and flooded the theatre. The liceum was finally built but on 7th november 1893, two Orsini bombs were thrown in the theatre but only one exploded. This doesn’t end here. On 8th April 1945, the roof fell, luckily there wasn’t people inside. And on 31st january 1994, a worker was repairing the firewall with a soldering iron and there was two workers with fire-extinguishers but a little spark got the curtain and all the theatre burned again. Since then, nothing has happened, but who knows… We are coming to the end of our itinerary. We went to “Carrer Arc del Teatre”. In this street you can see on 24th june, during the night, the spirit of Herod’s daughters dancing, but without heads!! They are sentenced for Saint John the Baptist’s decapitation to dance for the eternity. And finally, “la plaça Reial” (Royal Square). Do you remember that I told you about Vicequeen? She was Maria Francesca Fiveller i Bru and she got to marriage of convenience with the nephew of Viceroy of Perú. But he left her alone at the altar and the Viceroy, an old and womaniser man, got marriage with her. Three years later she was widowed. And after her death, her spirit walks around this square, but nobody knows why. We couldn’t see her. Ufff!!! We walked a lot!!!! I hope you enjoy this like we did!!!! Bye!!!! |
SiniS Posted Jul 13, 2012, 4:50 pm |
Hey!! This hasn’t ended!! When we came back to home, we saw some interesting places too In this hotel there's a plaque that says that Frederic Chopin stayed here when he was in Barcelona with his wife, but in this hotel stayed many others important figures too as Einstein or Buffalo Bill. This little street takes you to “Museu de Cera” (Wax museum). Can you see Superman and C3PO at the top of the building? Oohh!!! This man wants to commit suicide!!! Uff!! It’s just a wax sculpture… And this man let us to take a photo with him. His always sitting here taking a sunbath That man who’s on the top of that column is Cristóbal Colón, who discovered America in 1492. He’s pointing towards América. And here you can see a special building. It’s known as “La Casa dels paraigües” (The house of umbrellas) because it was, long time ago, a shop where they sold umbrellas (and fans) but its real name is Casa Bruno Cuadros. Can you see the chinese dragon on the right? And the last monument we saw before take the train was this. It’s a monument to Francesc Macià who was President of Generalitat de Catalunya (Government of Catalonia) and who proclaimed the Catalan Republic on april 14th, 1931. Now is time to come back home, we have walked a lot! See you!!! Bye!!! |
SiniS Posted Jul 18, 2012, 10:25 pm |
Hello all!! How are you? I have something to tell you: mommy is an idiot (don’t worry, she lets me to call her that…) Today she took us to Vilafranca del Penedés to spent a night here but… she forgot the batteries of the cam at home, so she couldn’t take any photo of us… And the mobile phone hadn’t got battery neither. So, as I can’t show you nothing about Vilafranca, I will explain you something about this city: Vilafranca del Penedés is very known for its wine. Actually, this city is one of the most important wine-growing centers in Spain. It has big wine warehouses and some of its brands of wine are very famous. From Vilafranca , the church of Santa Maria is a very precious monument too and is gothic in style. Mommy says that we can try to return some day… but this time with batteries, please!! |

Hello people!!!
Today we went to do a cultural visit. We visited Sagrada Familia!!! We saw it in Catalunya en miniatura, but it wasn’t the real Sagrada Familia, so I took my friends Ape Apina and TezTez for a walk and show it to them Z-This is Sagrada Familia, an expiatory temple that means that this building it has been built from donations. You have to know that this temple is under construction, because it’s not finished yet!! Gaudí started to work on it but he died before the end of the construction. After this, many architects have continued the work. But you will see the differences… Z-This is the original part by Gaudí. I think it’s so beautiful with a lot of details. Its “Façana Naixement” (Nativity Façade) and explains with its sculptures the nativity of Jesus. It’s full of life (the same nativity and vegetals and animals). Z- And his is the new part, “Façana de la Passió” (Passion Façade) by Josep Maria Subirachs. It represents the Via Crucis, reflecting the desolation, the pain and the death of Jesuschrist and it’s made withouth details and with austere materials. Well, personally I prefer the first façade we saw. And you? Wich one do you prefer? If you want to know more about Sagrada familia you can look here: http://www.sagradafamilia.cat/sf-eng/index.php Byee!!! |

SiniS Posted Sep 2, 2012, 3:57 pm |
Hi all!!!
Today I helped Doña Felisa with one of hers life missions and I improve one of mines!!! We have visited Camp Nou!!! We enter by one of the lateral gates. Can you see all that shields in the wall? They are from each “penya barcelonista”, a community that brings support to a football team, in this case, Barça. This big truck is TVE, a national public television channel that will transmit live the match. Tomorrow there will be a Barça-Madrid match, the two most important teams in Spain. We have found a cartel that informed that. This is the principal gate to the stadium, but you have to pay to visit it. In front of this gate, there are some sculptures. And this is me with Barça flags and Catalonia flag. And finally, outside the stadium, you can see “La Masia”, it was home to the Barcelona youth squad. Congratulations Doña Felisa!!! I hope you enjoy this visit!! |

Hi people!!!
Today is Doña Felisa and her mum’s birthday!!!! So, as she asks in one of her life missions, we’re going to do a cake to celebrate it!!!! These are the ingredients: 4 eggs, 1 yogurt (in this case, strawberry yogurt), sunflower oil, flour, sugar and baking powder. First, we beat the eggs Then, we add the yogurt. With the vase of the yogurt we calculate the next measures. We add 1 measure of sunflower oil. We add 1 measure of flour (x3) We add 1 measure of sugar (x2) And we add the baking powder. We spread butter and flour in the baking mould and put the mix. We preheat the oven to 170º during 10 minutes and we place the cake inside during about 50 min. We can check with a hook needle if it’s cooked inside. Happy birthday Doña Felisa!!!! Happy birthday Doña Felisa’s mum!!!! |

Happy Halloween to all!!!!!
Let me explain you that here in Catalonia we don’t celebrate Halloween as USA style. Here we celebrate “La Castanyada” and it’s a popular holiday. A long time ago it was a holiday related with funeral rituals but today is celebrated like an Autumn party or celebration. It’s typical to drink “moscatell” (an alcoholic drink like sweet wine) and eat “castanyes” (chestnuts), “moniatos” (sweet potatoes) and “panellets” (little individual cakes with dried fruits) which are what we’re going to make today!!!! First we prepare the ingredients to do the paste. We will grate a lemon. 200gr of sugar 250gr of ground almonds And a potato that we will boil When it’s soft, we peel it and smash it. Then, we add the almonds, sugar and lemon and do a paste that we inwrap with a plastic film and put into the fridge about 6 hours. Six hours later, we will make “panellets”!!! With a part of the paste we will make pine-nut “panellets”. They’re the most appreciate. We do little balls, put them in egg and add pine-nuts. In another part of the paste, we add ground coconut and can give them a pyramid shape. And with the rest of the paste, we do a rectangular shape, put them in egg and add almond. Then we preheat the oven at 250ºC and we bake the “panellets” during 8 minutes. This is the result!!!! They’re delicious!!! Just for fun, we have played “Trick or treat” as USA style!!!! D-Trick or treat!!!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! |

Hi all!
Today is the last day of Carnival festivities and here in Catalonia this day is called “enterrament de la sardina” (burial of the sardine). About why is called this way, there are a hypothesis, among others. First of all, to bury something is a way to forget it, to take leave of it… And the hypothesis is that the back-bone of the pigs was known as “sardine” and it was buried at the end of Carnival to start the Lent. To celebrate it, we have eaten a sardine made of bread with chocolate. It was delicious!!!! |
SiniS Posted Apr 4, 2013, 12:17 pm |

Hi!!
Today we went out for a walk and we went to the shopping center “La Maquinista”. “La Maquinista” is situated where the metallurgic fabric “La Maquinista Terrestre i Marítima” was in the past. Here you can see us taking a rest in front of the little park of “La Maquinista”. This is the large pond, situated in the middle of the park, named Narcís Monturiol (a Catalonian engineer, who invented the first crew submarine). It was built in order to take advantage of the two nearby water sources and it’s used to irrigate the park. Inside the pond you can see the large antique wheel that reminds us of the industrial past of the land. Hello!!
We spent the weekend at hostdad home, so we’re in the train to Sants, the central train station. In Sants we took another train to Gavà. The views aren’t so nice, just buildings, roads or industrial parks… Finally we were in Gavà!! This is the train station. We did a bit of sightseeing while we went to hostdad home. This is the church. And in this little square there’s a grower with some asparagus. We spent the afternoon at home and then we went to have supper at hamburger, in the shopping center. Suny found a little palm tree and she wanted to climb it, just for training, because she wants a bigger one! We waited for her Then we went to the hamburger and shared a big hamburger with fries. Good appetite!! |

Hi people!
Today we went out for a walk and we found some interesting places during our walk. This is “Plaça Jardins d’Elx”, where a Lady of Elche’s bust is situated. And in the same square there’s “Parroquia de Crist Rei” a parish started built in 1924. We continued walking and we found another church, but this is a quite strange church, “Iglèsia de Sant Joan Bosco”, inaugurated in 1974. When mom was a child, she thought it was a very big slide and she always wanted to slide for it. Poor mom!!! In “Carrer Aragó” (Aragon Street), we found a sculpture dedicated to article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Later, we saw “La Farinera del Clot”, a cultural center situated in an old flour fabric in 1852. And finally, we arrived to “Les Glòries” where we saw “Torre Agbar”, a tower which is the see of the water company of Barcelona (AGBAR = AGuas de BARcelona). At night it’s illuminated by thousands of colored lights. It has been an interesting walk! |

Today is “Sant Jordi” (Saint George) and here in Catalonia is celebrated as lovers’ day and as books and roses day. It’s very typical to present a book to men and roses to women. And it’s so typical too to find a lot of little shops in the streets selling books and roses.
Here you can see me in front of one of these shops near home: We have bought a book for hostdad about Barcelona and a rose for mom And as surprise, we have eat a “Sant Jordi”’s cake, it’s delicious!!! Feliç Sant Jordi!!! |

Hi all!!!
Today we went to Viladrau!!! A little village very known for its mineral water and because a very famous brigand lived there: Serrallonga. It is situated beneath the massifs of the Guilleries and the Montseny, that’s the reason we saw so many green around us. We arrived at the hotel, “Hostal La Glòria”. And then, after leave all the bags and other things in our room, we went out for a walk. We asked about some routes and the people of the hotel gave us a map with a route named “El camí dels ponts perduts” (The lost bridges route) and who got lost were us! It was very funny And we discovered some beautiful places. First, we found “La Font dels Enamorats”, (Lover’s fountain). And soon, we found “La font de l’Oreneta” (Swallow’s fountain). In our way, we found “La Riera Major”. This is one of its beautiful little waterfalls: …And some meters later… Then we arrived at “Mas els Molins”, an enormous house with a sun clock (although it’s a bit difficult to see the sun clock…) And near there, in a path beside a field, we met catalan donkeys!!! They’re so beautiful, friendly and lovely!!! We continued our walk and saw a big old tree. :O mum’s boyfriend is behind us!!! Hahaha!!! Then, was when we got lost… We were a bit busy trying to find the way back to hotel… And we got it! We arrived at Viladrau again, (well, we were in Viladrau, I mean at the village). And we saw the city council… … and “Capella de la Pietat”. It’s a chapel dated on 1603 and presided by Mare de Déu dels Dolors. At right of the photo, you can see Sant Domènech Savio, the youngest no martyr saint of the Catholic Church who wears jacket and bowtie. It’s curious… Ufff!!! Finally we arrived at the hotel, we were so tired!!!! But it was a wonderful day Good night!!! |

Hello people!!!
Today we went to “Fira de Bellcaire”, also and more common known as “Els Encants Vells”. “Els Encants Vells” is one of the oldest markets in Europe. Certain references date its origin in the fourteenth century, being a witness over commercial dynamism of our city, it’s more than just an antique market and peddling, orienting its centennial activity and apparent tentativeness to current demand, making available to the consumer an offer alternative to current models of distribution and trade, promoting the recycling. In this market you can found a lot of things, since new objects as clothes, fabrics, electrical equipment to second hand, used furniture, antiques, books and records… The bad news is that this market will close in its actual place and it will be opened in another place. Most of people think that the market will lose its charm with this change. We can find three parts in this market. This is one of the entries, where we can see some shops (one of the parts): In another part of the market there are some stands: And in the last part of the market, we find the objects on the floor, on a blanket or boxes… Look!! We are near of “Plaça de les Glòries”, so we can see “Torre Agbar”, do you remember it? We will miss this market. We’re waiting to see the new emplacement. Mom, can we come back here to visit it?? |

Hi!
Today we went shopping with mom. But when we go out of the supermarket (where is not allowed to take photos… ) we went to a square where we played a bit. This is the square, called “Plaça de l’Assamblea de Catalunya”, near home: Here we are in the petanque court. Beside us, you can see some tennis tables: We were sliding: And then, we found another slide…, but we have to exercise to reach the slide… First, climb on that man… Then, hang up… Suny is an expert! And we reach the slide! After to slide, Miggy wanted to go up for the slide… …but he rolled down back… ^^U We found a fountain, but it was out of order We think is to save water. Doves can take a bath And surprise!!!! We found some palm trees!!!! Suny couldn’t believe that!!! This one is bigger than the other she climbed before!!! So she climbed up while we were watching her: CONGRATULATIONS Suny!!!! You get one life mission!!!! And I improve one of mines! After the exercise we took a rest before going home. Goodbye!!! It has been a good day!!! |
SiniS Posted Jul 16, 2013, 7:51 pm |

This weekend we stayed at Sant Feliu de Pallarols, a little village in Girona.
After a long trip finally arrived at Sant Feliu de Pallarols! First we went to the house to leave the package. Here you can see some rooms of the house: Just in the entrance, there was a living room with a pool table: Upstairs, another little living room near the bedrooms: And in other floor, there was a big room to project films on DVD or to play with the Wii: There was a garden with a border and with a little lake: After seeing the house, we took a walk by the village. This sculpture was at the entrance of the village and near the river. It’s a “Pescallunes”, this is the nickname of people who live there. A “Pescallunes” is a person who wants to fish the moon. The story tells that one night a young man was walking nearby the river when he saw the reflected light of the moon in the water and wanted to fish it with a basket. He tried it several times, but without success. And another man who saw him laughed and ridiculed him and called him “Pescallunes”. Now, “Pescallunes” means a person with dreams and illusions. The center square with a market: And the center of the square, a beautiful tree-fountain: A fruit-garden: Some roses: A shield in the floor: Some stairs to go near the river: And the church: In this trip we made a lot of new friends!!! Some guinea pigs: A snail: And a bat!!! |

Hi all!!!
This year we come back to the festivities of Sants, do you remember? This neighborhood decorates its streets. The first street we found was this one decorated as a hell and it was a criticism about political corruption. The next street was a forest. This street was decorated as the house of Club Super 3. Club Super 3 is a TV program for children where we can see some different cartoons. Here, we met Son Goku and Vegeta and Shin Chan with his family. This TV program is also a club. Look!! This is my membership card!!!! And this hand is the mascot of the club. It’s a super hand!! Oh, oh!!! In another street we found an Alien spaceship!!! Waaahhh!!! A baby Alien attacks me!!! Better run… Ufff!!! We are safe now in this zouk And walking, we arrived to Venice!!! And in the last street we found a dragon. Can you see the knight at the left of the picture? This is the story of Sant Jordi (Saint George). The story tells that a dragon was frightening a whole village during a lot of time, eating its sheeps, cows… The people of the village decided to sacrifice a person per week to calm the dragon. But the random select the princess to be immolated!!! And when the princess was already in the cave of the dragon, a knight, Jordi, arrived and killed the dragon whit his sword. From the blood of the dragon, some red roses were born. The knight took one of them and gave it to the princess and returned her to the village. It’s a romantic story but poor dragon!!! I think he wasn’t as bad as people though, he only was hungry!!! |

Then we went to Templo de Debod, an egyptian temple dating from 2200 years ago, which was devoted to the cult of the gods Amun and Isis. It was donated to Spain by the Egyptian government in 1968, as a token of Egypt's gratitude for the aid provided in rescuing temples of Abu Simbel, in Nubia. We were hungry so we ate some typical food in Madrid: bocata de calamares (calamari sandwich) After lunch, we visited Calle Alcalá where we saw Edificio Metropolis... ... and La Cibeles, where the fans of Real Madrid celebrates when they team wins.
