Krtecek Posted Dec 18, 2011, 4:39 pm |
I have just started my toyvoyager life. I am still with my parents who are looking after me over Christmas. All the Christmas lights and decorations are so beautiful in our house. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 18, 2011, 4:42 pm |
Today we are going to visit the countryside. We are travelling by car and I am watching the country passing by. It is a long journey. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 18, 2011, 4:43 pm |
It´s so nice in the countryside. And it´s snowing. I am so glad I have my hat. My mum often loses hers but I keep mine. It protects me from the cold. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 18, 2011, 4:45 pm |
As well as in our home in Prague, the Christmas preparation are almost done here at the cottage. The white Christmas tree is unusual but very pretty. I wonder what the Christmas tree in Prague will be. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 21, 2011, 4:27 pm |
Today, we went to visit the old town centre of Prague and to look at Christmas decoration. First we went to Wenceslas square where we saw the National Museum and Christmas market. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 21, 2011, 4:29 pm |
There is no snow in Prague, but it is cold. Very cold. And rainy. So we stopped at a cosy restaurant to wamr up over a goulash soup and a glass of beer. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 21, 2011, 4:32 pm |
Our tour ended on the Old town square where we saw the famous Astronomic clock, Tyn church and a beautiful Christmas tree. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 23, 2011, 8:50 pm |
Today was a very busy day. In the morning we decorated the Christmas tree and then in the afternoon we went sightseeing to the city centre. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 23, 2011, 8:54 pm |
First of all we went to Petrin hill. We wanted to take a funicular to go all the way up. Unfortunately we missed it. At least we took a picture of it.
Then we walked up the hill and saw the panorama of Hradčany - Prague castle and all the beautiful rooftops of Prague. It was very impressive. On our way out we saw the house of my savage brother. I took a picture but I was happy I could return to my mom and dad. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 23, 2011, 8:58 pm |
At the end of our sightseeing trip we went to the museum of Ghosts and to the famous Charles Bridge. It is a very old bridge - built in 1357. Its one of the oldest European bridges and whats more, there are statues all along it. |
Krtecek Posted Dec 28, 2011, 8:28 am |
I am preparing for my first big trip. I am going to visit Rome to celebrate the New Year´s Eve there. I am so excited!!!! |
Krtecek Posted Dec 28, 2011, 3:08 pm |
While preparing my first visit I met Zubak - a toothed frog. He is cool, bigger than me and coming from Bruntal a tough region of the Czech republic. Zubak brought a guide of Rome so that we are well prepared for our trip. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 1, 2012, 12:07 am |
For the end of the year my mommy sent me to visit Rome. With my new friend Zubak we have visited Fontana di Trevi a famous fountain known from the movie of Frederico Fellini. Lovely atmosphere. Lots of people and lots of new friends. Its a pity I will only be staying for two more days.
|
Krtecek Posted Jan 4, 2012, 4:49 pm |
I will soon be an experienced traveller. I came back from Rome yesterday and today I am already in Paris. Me, my mommy, Zubak and Phillip took a bus to Paris. It was a 14 hour ride so we got home quite tired. We were welcomed by the other toys who were waiting for us in my mommy´s appartment.
|
Krtecek Posted Jan 4, 2012, 4:51 pm |
In the morning my mommy went to school so we stayed in bag all morning. But in the afternoon we did a small sightseeing trip. The weather was nice and we enjoyed it. First of all we stopped at the Notre Dame cathedral which is the most famous cathedral in Paris and the venue of the novel the Hunchback of Notre Dame. There were many tourists who were taking pictures. So did we. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 4, 2012, 4:56 pm |
Then we took a bike - special bike called Velib. It is a bike you are sharing with other people. There are stations where you can take and leave the bike every 300 metres all over Paris. And the first 30 minutes are free. Moreover it was sunny so we loved the wind in our hair.
Next stop was at the townhall (Hotel de Ville) of Paris. It is a beautiful building at the bank of Seine river. There is an ice-skating ring and a lovely Carrousel (merry-go-round). We took pictures but did not go for a ride. It makes me sick. The final stop was at Centre George Pompidou - a museum of modern art in the heart of Paris. It is built in a modern style with all staircases on the outside of the building. We also saw artist in front of the Centre. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 4, 2012, 10:30 pm |
I continue my trip of Rome. Today we visited the Colosseum and Forum romanum. I have never seen so many ancient buildings. I can see the Roman soldiers walking along the walls of Rome. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 4, 2012, 10:35 pm |
Today we went to visit the Vatican - the seat of the Pope. We saw the famous St. Peters cathedral and the most beautiful nativity scene I have ever seen (I have not seen many).
The weather was so nice I almost did not believe it was 1st January. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 8, 2012, 10:27 am |
Today, my mum took to visit the Latin disctrict (Quartier Latin) which is in the heart of Paris. It is the area with many ancient univiersities and schools. There are also many bars and restaurants filled with young people. Its a very lively area.
First of all we visited Pantheon - the centre of the district and the burial place of all big Frenchmen (Voltaire, Rousseau, Emile Zola, Victor Hugo and others). There is also a law school of my mum right in front of Pantheon. Then we went towards the river and saw the Sorbonne and a beautiful Musée de Cluny (medieval museum in a medieval fortress). Finally we stopped at the Fountaint of St. Michel when it started to rain. Therefore we wend back home. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 8, 2012, 10:34 am |
Today, my mum wanted to show me some of that "Paris at night" feeling. So we went to do a long trip from Arch de triomphe through Concorde (where we saw the Eiffel tower for the first time) and Jardin de Tuileries to the Louvre where it was already dark. It was completely different than during the day as there were lights everywhere and not too many people. I enjoyed myself very much.
And at the end we went to taste the real Champagne. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 9, 2012, 5:22 pm |
Today we finally went to see the Eiffel Tower. It was the most stunning feeling I have had so far. It is so beautiful and elegant and, eh...tall.
I was watching it from the ground and it is simply enormous. And you can see through it. And there is also a parc next to it. We had a small picknick there. It was not the best weather for a picknick but we didnt mind. Then we took a bicycle and went to see the Invalides which is a hospital for war veterans with a beautiful church where is the tomb of Napoleon. The building itself it huge but you can always recognise it by its golden roof (wonder if they use real gold....). |
Krtecek Posted Jan 9, 2012, 5:27 pm |
And then we continued our visit to Montmartre a district of Paris known for its artist. However before even seeing any artist we had to climb an enormous mountain (Montmartre is on the only real hill in Paris). There were at least 2000 steps or maybe little less.
At the top we saw the painters at Placede Tertre and the famous basilica of Sacre coeur - the white symbol of the district. There on the stairs leading to the basilica we saw the musicians and comedians. It was very interesting. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 14, 2012, 6:05 pm |
Today, we are leaving for another big adventure. We are flying for a short trip to Cyprus. We are already all packed and waiting for the departure. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 14, 2012, 6:32 pm |
Today is our first day in Cyprus. We are going to visit Nicosia - the capital city and the only divided capital in the world. There are two parts the Greek and the Turkish and between them there is a guarded wall and many soldiers. But there are also border crossings where people and toys can cross over to the other side.
We saw the most important mosque in the Turkish side - the Sulimiye mosque in Nicosia. It was originally a gothic cathedral but it serves as a mosque since the 16th century. Next to it we saw a lovely antique shop so we decided to take a group photo. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 14, 2012, 6:45 pm |
Today we are just relaxing. We decided to go to ckeck out on the swimming pool. The water was a little bit chilli but we played pool games and I even tried to float a little. It was cool since it was perfectly clean.
Then we went to the beach - there are pebbles all over. It was after the storm and the waves vere high so we couldnt swim but the sea was warm ans surprisingly clean. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 14, 2012, 6:50 pm |
On our last day we visited Kyrenia - an important port and a tourist centre of the Northern Cyprus. It is so pretty there is an old harbour with many yachts and speedboats, crooked streets with old colonial buildings and a huge medieval castle. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 14, 2012, 6:56 pm |
We are back home. Mommy and Philip have left us as they continued back to Paris. So we are staying with daddy. We are sad but we have met many new toys and to make us happier we are all going to watch a movie. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 23, 2012, 2:27 pm |
Finally, our daddy decided to take us for a walk. We´ve benn back to Prague for over a week and we were not doing anything else than watching television. But today, we went for a walk. And it was wort it.
We started our journey in the forest of Petrín where at the hill there is a Petrín look-out tower. It made me think of my trip to Paris. And no wonder, the top of the Petrín tower is in the same height above the sea level as the top of the Eiffel tower. Other than that, its a lot smaller. We climbed up the tower and the view was just amazing. Prague really is so much different from Paris. All the roofs are red, houses are smalles, the river flows quietly through the centre. Loved it. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 23, 2012, 2:33 pm |
Then we continued towards the Prague Castle. On our was we passed many crooked, narrow streets of the Hradcany district and then we finally reached the main entrance. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 23, 2012, 2:39 pm |
Prague castle is an interesting complex of various buildings dating from the 11th century until the 20th century. The centre of the castle is the St. Vitus cathedral whose constructiont ook over 600 years. I was so happy to be on the trip that I was running around all over the place. It was so much fun. |
Krtecek Posted Jan 23, 2012, 2:48 pm |
We left the castle in the late afternoon by the old castle stairs that lead us to another famous district of Prague - Mala Strana. Its most famous monument is the church of St. Nicholas with a copper roof that has turned all green with time.
That was also the last stop of our visit as we were already super tired. I wonder where daddy will take us next time. I would love to see Vysehrad - another castle of Prague, or maybe Hvezda a hunting lodge together with the Brevnov monastery. Well, I guess I will have to wait. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 2, 2012, 9:13 am |
Today, my dad took me for another trip. This time it was not a sightseeingfor monuments but we went for a walk into the forests of Prague. We took a bus and reached the antenna. It was on the top of a hill above the Vltava river and Prague. We stopped there to take some pictures and beath some fresh air.
It was cold and there was snow as well. I was very upset as I left my hat in Paris and I was freezing. Mum, please, when you come, dont forget my hat. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 2, 2012, 9:17 am |
Then we followed the path into the valley. It was even colder down there, so we walked really really fast to warm up. Its a little sad during winter as there are no leaves on the trees and everything is frozen and cold. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 2, 2012, 9:21 am |
Once we reached the bottom of the valley we saw a nice viaduct and a local pub. Seeing it I fel like I was back in the 1960s. There pub was build of planks and the most important information that was at the entrance was "Uvnitr topim" (that means There is heat inside). I guess it was the way to attract frozen tourists.
We continued and then I saw it........My house. There was me looking at me from the window. Amazing. I wanted to knock and invite me for a cup of hot tea but dad said it was not me in the window but only a picture of some other mole that looked like me. Disappointment. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 2, 2012, 9:27 am |
I was sad because of the house that was mine, but was not mine. But then I saw this lovely sleeping creature on a tree. Dad said it was a cat. Cats are nice. They keep balance at all times. They never fall.
We also saw and old-time train station. It seemed abandoned but dad said there are still trains passing by once or twice a day. And then we walked back up and took a tram home. There we had a hot cup of tea and a nice hot bath. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 27, 2012, 5:19 pm |
Today my dad took me to see the ice on the Vltava river. It was so cold that I thought my little hair would freeze to my head. I am so upset that I left my hat in Paris. Hopefully mum will not forget to bring it back. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 27, 2012, 5:21 pm |
Mum has arrived. And she brought my hat!!! Oh, how happy I am. I dont have to freeze again and my little ears will be warm.
We are going skiing to Jeseníky mountains. I hope the weather will be nice. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 27, 2012, 5:24 pm |
I and the other toyvoyagers - Tedi from Germany and Zubak - were lazy in the morning and took advantage of the hotel bedroom.
Afterwards we went to take a picture with the hotel as it was sunny. It was good as it became foggy right after we took the picture (I never knew the camera could be used to call the fog). Since we could not go skiing we stayed in the hotel and played games. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 27, 2012, 5:27 pm |
The fog persists. Moreover, there is a strong cold wind. Never mind, we decided to go sightseeing into the neighbouring towns. First we went to Jeseník spa known for the Priessnitz spa that was invented there. It was too cold for a walk, so we decided to stop in a Café instead.
Since the weather did not seem to get any better we went to visit the Natural science museum in Jeseník. The museum is in the medieval water fortress and there is a new exhibition of witchcraft and also of Lego. We went to see both but I preferred Lego. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 27, 2012, 5:30 pm |
The fog is even thicker than yesterday. Impossible to ski in the mountains. We are leaving to visit the oldest functioning manufacture of paper. It was established over 400 years ago and they are still making the paper the old way of old cloths and rugs. It was cool.
Moreover, it was sunny in the valley. Me and the other toyvoyagers built a snowman (i had to give up my hat but it was for a good thing). |
Krtecek Posted Feb 27, 2012, 5:32 pm |
I was very sad that the weather did not allow me to show off my skiing skills that mum and dad let me ski in Velke Losiny. It is where the manufacture of paper is. It is in the valley but it was sunny and there was enough snow.
I had so much fun that I couldnt stop. |
Krtecek Posted Feb 27, 2012, 5:33 pm |
Last day of our foggy skiing holiday. And guess what? Its all bright and sunny, the snow is perfect the skiers are waiting in line to get their skipass. And we are heading home.
At least we took a picture with the skislope (the one that was jsut outside our hotel window but that we couldnt see due to the fog). |
Krtecek Posted Feb 27, 2012, 5:34 pm |
I am flying with mum to Paris. Will spend some time with her and maybe I will also go for a trip elsewhere. Who knows... I like to keep my options open. |
Zischie Posted Mar 9, 2012, 3:05 pm |
Hello everybody at home!
I just arrived in Uetze, a little village in Germany. It is near to Hanover, the capital of the federal state Lower Saxony. It is in the North of Germany. Two future TVs, the duck and squirrel (they have no names so far) and two other TVs, Winter Bear and Katie Pillar welcomed me very dearly. And my host-mum really love the gift I brought with me. My hosts have two pets: a budgerigar called Racker, like the little tortoise of the movie "Finding Nemo" (in german the turtle is called Racker, I'm not sure of the english name) and a cat called Dicker, because he is so fat (dick is the german word for fat). |
Zischie Posted Mar 14, 2012, 4:31 pm |
We helped to prepare the meal today! Pasta bake! I was responsable for the salami. Thank goodness, I saw Katie Pillar before I started cutting the sausage. I did not realised that I am so blind. Maybe it is true what people say about moles. |
Zischie Posted Mar 14, 2012, 4:37 pm |
A new TV arrived! Mo! He is a little sheep with little rucksack on my back. |
Zischie Posted Mar 14, 2012, 4:38 pm |
Unfortunately, in Uetze is no TV-weather at the moment. But on friday we will travel to Göttingen, where my host studies. Hopefully there will be a better weather. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 6:46 pm |
Our getaway to Göttingen started in Uetze of course. We went by bus to Dollbergen, our first intermediate goal. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 6:48 pm |
In Dollbergen, which is a little village and belongs to the township Uetze, we had not enough time to take pictures. But now I have a new entry on my map. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 6:50 pm |
The next intermediate goal was Hannover, the the capital of the federal state Lower Saxony. We took some pictures on the railway station and in the train. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 6:51 pm |
Here is a picture of the landscape between Hannover and Göttingen.
|
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 6:53 pm |
Finally, we arrived in Göttingen.
Göttingen (German pronunciation: [ˈɡœtɪŋən]) is a university town in Lower Saxony. It is the capital of the district of Göttingen. The Leine river runs through the town. In 2006 the population was 129,686. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 6:55 pm |
First of all we visited the old botanic garden. Göttingen has two botanic gardens, the old and the new one. But the old one is much more beautiful... however I think the flowers require more time. Everthing is still brown and grey. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 6:57 pm |
Then we visited Weende. This is district of Göttingen. My host live there during the semester.
There was a very strange tree... |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 6:59 pm |
There was a stone which tell something about Weende. It was founded in 966 and was an independantly community until 1964. At this time it became a district of Göttingen. As a consequence, it is the second oldest district (and it is the most beautiful side in town ). |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 7:00 pm |
The St. Petri- Church is the oldest building in Weende. It was built in 1180. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 7:01 pm |
There is also a river called Weende. The spring of the river also provides the people in Göttingen with drinking water. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 7:03 pm |
Afterwards we drove back to Hannover. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 7:05 pm |
In Hannover, we drove by tram to Altwarmbüchen, where the mum of my host works. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 7:07 pm |
There was a very nice sunset on the car park of host-mums working place. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 7:09 pm |
Back with car. |
Zischie Posted Mar 17, 2012, 7:11 pm |
Back in Uetze. Wow, this was a strenuous day. |
Zischie Posted Mar 21, 2012, 6:35 pm |
We helped baking american cookies today. The cookies were very sweet, but delicious. |
Zischie Posted Mar 21, 2012, 7:00 pm |
Wow, one more TV arrived today! We are a big family now.
... oh, there are two TVs! Owen H.M-Fips and Bernie R.G.Bear, they come from Trinidad and Tobago. |
Zischie Posted Mar 23, 2012, 7:45 pm |
It was such a lovely weather today, so my host decided to show us TVs Uetze a little bit.
First station was the Junkernhof. It is the oldest building in Uetze. The Junkernhof was build 1635 from the family von Uttensen. Uetze was called "Utisson" (1022) and "Utessem" (1215) in the past. These names are deduced from the name von Uttensen. So the building had a great impact on the village. So here is the Junkernhof and a stone next to the two-storey half-timber house. |
Zischie Posted Mar 23, 2012, 8:10 pm |
The next station was the river Fuhse. The Fuhse is a stream of Lower Saxony, a left tributary of the Aller. The Fuhse originates on the west slope of the Oderwald, foothills of the Harz range between Bad Harzburg und Wolfenbüttel. The source spring lies in the municipality of Flöthe near Schladen. From there the Fuhse flows west of Salzgitter. It turns to the north and flows through Peine, Dollbergen and Uetze to Celle. In Celle (borough Neustadt) it joins the Aller. The most important tributary is the Erse, that joins the Fuhse at Uetze.
There were two ducks on the river. Unfortunately, we had no bread with us... |
Zischie Posted Mar 23, 2012, 8:24 pm |
There is also a very nice bridge over the Fuhse. ^^ |
Zischie Posted Mar 23, 2012, 8:35 pm |
Here you can see the "Neuer Garten". It is a part of the Junkernhof. In former days, it was a restaurant. Today, you can buy it. |
Zischie Posted Mar 23, 2012, 8:48 pm |
The church is called "Johannes-der-Täufer-Kirche". It was built in 1867. The tower is 65 m high.
The predecessor was built in 1837, but it was destroyed in 1863 by a great fire. A stone reminds the people. |
Zischie Posted Mar 23, 2012, 8:58 pm |
We went by bicyle by the way. |
Zischie Posted Mar 23, 2012, 9:08 pm |
After our trip through Uetze, we relaxed in the garden. |
Zischie Posted Mar 23, 2012, 9:21 pm |
I will leave today. The others are a little bit sad, but I am happy because I will travel back to Paris to my mummy! |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 8:13 pm |
I have just arrived to Paris. Thank you Zischie for showing me around her beautiful country. |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 8:24 pm |
Today,
we went with Ohkwari and my parents for a picknick to a beautiful castle of Fontainbleu which is only about a half hour train ride from Paris. Firstly we walked through a huge parc where we saw a spring and Ohkwari decided to drink the water even though it was dangerous. Luckily I was able to stop her |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 8:31 pm |
The castle of Fontainbleu is so big that you cannot see from one side to the other. It is surrounded by ponds and lakes as well as by gardens, of course French style gardens.
There are several courtyards and different wild animals (geese, ducks, horses). |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 8:34 pm |
But the best thing to do in Fontainbleu is to have a picknick. French bread, ham, delicious cheese, fruit and vegetables and a glass of red wine with the view of the castle and its garden....J´adore. |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 8:38 pm |
Today we went for another out-of-Paris trip. This time to visit the medieval town of Provins which is a part of UNESCO World Heritage. We took a train and the journey lasted for about hour and a half. |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 8:44 pm |
The whole city is built of semi-wooden houses in narrow streets. The houses are all different and they create an interesting atmosphere. |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 8:50 pm |
The main site of Provins is a tall medieval tower above the city. I liked the tower and wanted to have one just like that. My parents said it would be too big for our flat but they let me try what it would be like on a small version.
|
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 8:57 pm |
And the last thing in Provins is worth seeing. The beautiful fortification walls that surround the city. Then there is nothing else to do and its time to go home. |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 9:07 pm |
The train back to Paris was long and boring. I tried to do some studying with my mum, but it wasnt much fun and it didnt keep me occupied for too long.
Then a ticket control distracted my attention for a while. LuckilymI had a valid ticket, otherwise I would be obliged to leave the train. After a while the ride made me tired and my dad offered me a lovely sleeping bag where I stayed all the way to Paris. Thank you daddy. |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 9:12 pm |
Another beautiful day in the Paris area. Today we are going to visit the castle of Chantilly north of Paris. It is a small castle in the middle of a lake with a large park and gardens. |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 9:20 pm |
In the gardens there was this interesting place with village-like houses called le "hameau". It looked like a rural peasant dwelling but it was lavishly decorated inside with all the confort for princes. They really had nothing to do
Further in the parc we discovered a playground with a smiley ram I decided to ride. It was so much fun. |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 9:23 pm |
The visit of Chantilly was finished by a small picknick with pink wine and excellent pate. |
Krtecek Posted Mar 29, 2012, 9:24 pm |
Three...two...one...jump!!! |
Krtecek Posted Apr 7, 2012, 6:17 pm |
Today we went once more for a picknick. The weather was still nice and warm but it was windy and the wind was cold. It is supposed to get cold in the next days
Anyhow, we went to Butte Chaumont which is a huge parc in the 19th district of Paris built in the 19th century with artificial waterfalls and a pavilion on top of a rock. It was very very beautiful. |
Krtecek Posted Apr 8, 2012, 8:50 pm |
Today we decided to go for Egg Hunt to the Basilique de Saint Denis. It is a jewel of the gothic architecture. We had a meeting in front of La rotonde close to the bassin de la Villette from where we took the bike to get to the cathedral.
As we were waiting for the meeting (we arrived early as always), we took advantage of the area to take some pictures. I particularly liked the colourful cow that I rode. |
Krtecek Posted Apr 8, 2012, 8:58 pm |
Then we took the bike to reach the Basilique. We only went half way on the bike and then we had to walk. The area of Saint Denis is a little bit particulier as there are mostly immigrants who live there. But we had no problems.
However as we were trying to reach the church we took a wrong turn and we arrived to a lovely parc with many tulips in full bloom. After a short walk we continued towards the cathedral. It is the burial place of French kings and queens and there is more than 70 tombs inside. We also took part in a history hunt for chocolate eggs. We had to answer questions about what was in the crypt and once we answered all the questions we got a chocolate and stickers. Cool. |
Krtecek Posted Apr 16, 2012, 8:59 pm |
Even though it is Friday 13th it is our lucky day. We have finally received the Easter package from the Czech republic. It was full of goodies so me and other toyvoyagers attacked the package and ate all the goodies. Afterwards we were a little sick but it was so irresistibly good. |
Krtecek Posted Apr 16, 2012, 9:02 pm |
Today we visited another beautiful castle not too far from Paris - the castle of Breteuil. It is a family castle that has been in the same family for over 400 years and even today marquis de Breteuil lives there (a very nice gentleman).
The castle is also a home of fairy tales of Charles Perrault a famous French storyteller. Many of the fairies are in the rooms of the castle and it gives a romantic touch. Of course the gardens are splendid as all the gardens in France I have seen so far. |
Krtecek Posted May 29, 2012, 11:29 pm |
We thought to have lost Krtecek on his way to Detroit, but after almost two months we found him in a store in Prague. To get him back we had to pay a ransom but it was worth it. Krtecek is thus back home with us and ready to go for another adventure. |

I am finally back home with my mommy. Today she took me and my friends toyvoyagers to the Chateau de Vincennes. It is a medieval fortress at the east of Paris in a lovely area of Bois de Vincennes where we had a picknick afterwards.
It was really cool as there werent any tourists and even the locals were rare. I could admire the fortification, the tower that the French call Donjon even though there is neither Don nor John, and also the gothic cathedral of All Saints. After all the time spend in captivity I felt finally at home. |

It´s Sunday. And on Sunday the fountains of Versailles are on. We took a train and got there in time to admire the water show. A lot of beatiful fountains pouring water at the sound of baroque music and the castle of Versailles made me feel I was back at the time of Louis XIV - Le Roi-Soleil. |

Today we went to visit the Czech countryside. The rocktown of Prachovske skaly is very famous geographical and natural reservation. We had to walk quite a few kilometres up and down the rocks but the views were definitely worth it. All of the rock statues and deep valleys. A real jewel.
And in the middle of all of it we saw the castle Kost (the Bone). |

To get a break from all the nature and hiking we decided to visit Cesky Krumlov, a town in the south of the Czech republic that is protected by UNESCO as a world heritage. It was beatiful. The medieval town is surrounded by the river Vltava that meanders around it. The streets are narrow and the houses are more than 500 years old. Alla long the river, there are fish restaurants with fresh fish and traditional Czech drink – pivo (beer). |

Above the city of Cesky Krumlov there is a large castle that is visible from all over the city with its colourful tower. Also the inside walls of the castle are full of colours dating to the period of rennaissance. And the view….What a beauty. Behing the castle there is a French style garden with fountains and statues.
